Not been here for a while, decided to give it a try. The fajitas were amazing and the waitress was friendly and attentive. Would definitely recommend 👌 😋

It’s been 20 years since we last ate here and it was as lovely as it was back then. 3pm Saturday afternoon and we were the only ones in for a short while, but it slowly filled towards the evening, small and quaint.. not a huge menu but plenty of choice. Attentive service from the friendly waitress. Food was really nice and tasty but I’d have preferred mine a little hotter, but I’m fussy like that! Can’t wait to return 🇲🇽 🍸🍸

Excellent independant restuarant.food was very tasty.The room is small but very cosy.we all had different dishes and everything was nice.All the staff were friendly and helpful and it was reasonably priced.would highly recommend.

We visited with a group of 6. The food took 45 minutes to arrive. Not everything was hot. We have ordered sambucca shots and they were £4.15 (!!!!) each! That’s brought my bill up by £45.65! How do you justify charging that amount for one shot!?

Had a lovely meal here celebrating my wife's 50th bithday. The food was excellent and so was the service. We found the music unnecessarily loud which rather spoiled the experience for us. Nevertheless would go again for the food!

Food is below average and so is the service!! It has nothing to do with Mexican food, most of it is bought in. Waste of money!!!!

I've been here a number of times over the years and always enjoyed it... But this is my first visit post-COVID. Table as reserved and offered the drinks menu/wine list. Low alcohol beer? "Unfortunately not" (quote!) ... in fact no beer listed at all. Coffee ordered and it was, without doubt, the worst cup of coffee I can remember. Bitter and stewed... Essentially, the menu works by offering a choice of fillings mounted in the usual Mexican style offerings. Given the proud boast of 18 different seasonings used in their chilli con carne, I chose that for my chimichanga (unfried burrito style) which promised Mexican rice and refried beans, together with cheese, soured cream and guacamole. Even at 6pm, the place was busy, so a 15 minute wait ensued. When my food arrived, I was surprised to see the burrito with a squirt of something white, a squirt of something yellow, a dollop of refried beans and a small portion of vaguely warm rice. Tucking into the tortilla parcel, I discovered a warm brown mixture of beans, and mince. Flavour was absent... Just heat. I ate up without complaint. We were attending a performance at the cathedral, so time was tight Eventually one of the table staff noticed that we had finished. And offered the Dessert Menu. We accepted and she disappeared to fetch one, returning a few minutes later. The staff, though smart and pleasant, seemed much more interested in their own conversations and generally failed to "scan" tables as they walked through the restaurant. Our ordered churros duly arrived and were excellent. So we ate up and paid... (Now running a little late)... And left, never to return.

Bit of a mixed bag x food lovely but order was incorrect - waitress double checked the order to ensure it was correct but still came out wrong x long wait x desserts were wrong x such a pity as lovely atmosphere……….. just spoilt the evening as we did not all eat together due to the delays

Don't know how anyone could leave this place a bad review! Food is always great, waiting staff are friendly and work so hard. We ate there last night and agreed it remains our favourite restaurant in the bail 😊

Really enjoyed our meal here. Lovely burritos absolutely stuffed with prawns. Excellent service. We eat a lot of Mexican food and this was some of the best.

Appalling Very cold restaurant. Asked for the door to be closed and this was brushed off. Food delivered no mention of ‘enjoy your meal’, checking back to see if meal was okay or even asking when plates were collected. Half of the food was cold. As we got up to leave the more mature waitress said less than discreetly ‘have they paid’. Total insult. Will never return or recommend. Young girls happy to just stand and chat at the bar.

Decided to start trying new places & foods . Got a table on a Saturday night … fun quirky place . Food was great & staff friendly & informative if required. Loved the table we had as downstairs where it’s all buzzing, tables upstairs but a quieter style of dining .Felt like we were on holiday .

Fantastic food at reasonable prices. I had Tacos, my wife had quesadilla which were both amazing, I ordered refried beans, olive...mmmm the 🫒 olives and Guacamole. Washed down with a frozen margarita. Awesome first night in Lincoln.

Unfortunately I can't give this a zero rating, if I could I would. Booked a table online and when we got to the restaurant we were shown to our table almost straight away but that was it.Left at our table for almost 40 mins and not even asked if we want a drink.Took our business and money elsewhere, where we actually had a decent meal at a good price.

A week before I wanted the booking for our Anniversary I messaged Tequilas requesting a booking, and after 4 days received no reply and so emailed. By the date of our anniversary I still received no response. On the day of our anniversary I messaged them AGAIN. This time they read my message and ignored it. I messaged AGAIN to see if my table had been booked and they told me to phone. So on a loud barge we phoned. When we turned up for our booking they put us near the entrance. There was a couple that came in after us and got sat infront of us. The waitress took their order first, then another table and then finally us! The couple they served before us got their drinks straight away. My husband and I was sat watching the staff joking around behind the bar for quite a long time and we still hadn't got our drinks. 30 MINS LATER! and STILL NO DRINKS! I am not even sure the waitress put our order through. I would of grabbed someone but the waiting staff kept coming up our lane and ignoring us! Anyway, we gave up and just walked out without having NOTHING or saying NOTHING! I thought if their going to keep ignoring us I'll do the same to them. As most kitchens had shut by this time we left we couldn't get in anywhere else and ended up with a just eat pizza in our hotel room!! They need more mature staff and someone that wants to organise them!! I USE to like Tequilas, NO LONGER!!

This was my children’s first time at a Mexican restaurant, we are exploring different food types and countries. Amazing welcome and speedy initial service but went downhill once told we were not having mains. Staff couldn’t offer advice on milder dishes as they didn’t know the menu. The food came out wrong but was delicious once right. Despite asking for water 3 times we left without having any water. This was needed to facilitate my son taking his medication. We were told there were no water jugs available to go down and see one on the bar. Our bill totalled over £60 and we were using one of their tables for well under an hour. When being asked how to give negative feedback staff said they didn’t know and when asked to speak to the manager was told he was busy in the kitchen and I should appreciate how busy they are. This was the icing on the cake given that one staff member was laughing and joking with her customer friend most of the time we were there. We asked for the bill twice and didn’t receive it and so took ourselves downstairs to reluctantly pay. Shame as this is a Lovely venue. Male member of staff was very polite and apologetic

We went to tequilas randomly when looking at the top of steep hill. We were greeted by a blonde girl who I believe was called Olivia. She seemed to be the only staff member on shift apart from the chefs and though it was busy, she was so bubbly and made everyone feel comfortable. The tapas was lovely! The calamari, wings and meatballs were perfect for me and my family loved there burritos. The drinks were also really good with the pornstar not being too sweet and the mojito good too! Would deffo recommend.

The food was quite tasty but the El Diablo Chilli didn't really live up to its billing. Portion size was good . Service was a bit slow even though the restaurant wasn't too busy

Stopped in on a friend’s recommendation as I have not had Mexican food for 2 months since I left the states. The service was great. The food was a great attempt but lacked true Mexican flavor. I might have set the bar to high. I had the tacos and the overall presentation was great but the food was average

We were seated right by the door. Due to current restrictions, it had to be left open, but we were so cold. The drinks arrived 40 mins after us! We asked to move, but was told there was no space. 15 mins later our starter arrived. Another 2 couples who came in after us, were moved and so we asked again. They finally found a better table for us. Almost 2 hours after arriving and after asking, our main course arrived. My husbands was cold! A disastrous meal from Start to finish and the first time ever, I have not left a tip! Shocking service!

Our suspicions should have been aroused when it was so hard to make a reservation. But, naive fools that we were, we persevered. Perseverence is not however a characteristic of Tequilas. We were shown to our table then forgotten. Assiduously forgotten. It transpires that being forgotten was the primary talent at Tequilas for all around us, other guests endured the same experience. One table had been unfortunate enough to be served part of their meal, albeit after several hours wait. They searched out the manager who was promptly inundated with requests form other disgruntled diners, at which point we managed to place a drinks order. This duly arrived … wrong. Two beers instead of one and a marguerita which tasted suspiciously like a glass of Robinsons lime squash. We could endure no more and left. The menu was creative and the food looked well prepared and tasty on the plates of those diners who actually received it but I cannot comment on what it actually tasted like as I fear I might not have lived long enough to find out if I had ever been able to order it. An evening of my life that I will never get back: I urge you not to make the same mistake.

Tasteless food, really bland. It used to be great here but now the food is like something from wetherspoons. I ordered prawn tacos and there were barely any prawns just lots of celery and little in the way of seasoning. The patatas alioli was half cooked with some of the potato still hard. Again fairly bland no seasoning. We ate up and left as soon as we could and won't be returning. The only positive was the friendly serving staff.

My partner and I ordered 3 items, one item was missed on delivery (admittedly they delivered missed item promptly) and when biting into my supposedly king prawn fajita was shocked as a pescatarian to find it had chicken in so was unable to eat it. As a lover of Mexican style food, was incredibly disappointed.Will not be ordering from Tequilas again.

We ordered Enchiladas, tapas, paella, ribs, pizza, garlic bread and burritos. Nothing was of quality expected. The enchiladas ware bland and had no taste. The ribs were tough and chewy. The pizza was low quality and under cooked. The garlic bread had no colour and tasted like it was microwaved, just like the rest of the food. Will never order from this place again, and I advise anyone else to do the same!

My partner and I came to Lincoln for a 1 night break and had dinner at Teqillas. The food was lovely. The atmosphere was authentic and fun. The staff were very attentive. Would definitely go back.

My partner and I ate here around 6pm and were the only ones eating for 3/4 of our meal, we shared seven tapas dishes.Food-wise, very good - tasty, authentic, variety with decent portion sizes.The Service was a bit slow, however very pleasant.The ambience was a bit subdued mainly because we were the only ones eating - I can imagine it being a different story when they are busier and in full swing.Would definitely return.

We ordered mixed fajitas which were excellent. We then waited ages to order desserts and coffees which never appeared and gave up, paid the bill and left. the staff are more interested in chatting with each other than serving customers. A great pity because the food and ambience are good.

The food took over an hour and a half to arrive, it was cold and the food was dripping with grease its actually not eatable. The seafood paella was tasteless and didn’t even have any normal seafood in it. And half of the food we ordered didn’t even arrive and when we asked for a refund they did not respond or offer a new meal. Would give 0 stars if I could.

Ordered a takeaway on Uber eats, was very excited to get it. It was 20 mins late then when it did arrive only half of my order was there. The half that was there was cold, greasy and bland. I called the restaurant and they didn’t seem to care and didn’t say anything when I asked for a refund!

Had a great meal here again tonight for my wife’s birthday.I know times are hard getting back into action following lock down (which in fairness was months ago). Eating out again is a still a novelty and a treat. There is less money going around I think venues need to make an effort to provide a great experience.The waitresses were great and so was the atmosphere as always.It was disappointing that a number of the tapas dishes were not available. No mustard ?! To go with the my steak. Only the ice cream and churros were available for dessert. I don’t believe suppliers can be blamed for lack of ingredients this far after lock down. Coffee was not available (because the machine was out of action!! , guessing they don’t have a kettle?)The men’s loos were in a bit of a state with tiles missing. The lemons and limes on the counter were also mouldy in the bottom of the jar.We love this restaurant and the service is great, with so much choice for places to eat out in Lincoln please up your game to complete the experience, I cant see a valid reason for the issues we experienced.I spoke to the waitress before we left to relay our experience and she was really understanding of the points I raised. I hope she is able to speak to her managers and the restaurant returns returns to previous form.

After an initial booking 2 weeks ago we arrived at the restaurant to find it shut, after phoning to ask why, got a very apologetic lady from cafe zoot saying bookings were supposed to be informed they didnt have the floor staff, however we were not but gave them the benefit of the doubt and re-booked with them. Wish i never had....Went here on Monday night service was poor and very slow took 15 minutes to take a drinks order even though this was the start of the opening hours, wasn’t busy at all at the time. Half the menu missing upon arrival, then when ordered were told even more of the food we had ordered was out of stock, absolutely ridiculous and shambolic. When main meal arrived was very bland and basic looked like someones first attempt at a mexican cooked from home, and was also warm no where near hot. They have a 2-4-1 cocktails offer on that they did not adhere to even though advertised which they charged full price for and said there was nothing they could do. Worst restaurant i have ever been to customer service was shocking and so was the food complete lack of organisation. Will not be going back.

The ruin of what could be a good restaurant! Table of 4 for Saturday night. Waitress was initially rude but managed to pull that back. Ran out of 60% of the items on the menu but didn’t chose to share this until after we spent time selecting food choices. What arrived was distinctly average. Could have done better myself at home. Staff need to be less sassy and spend more time doing stock checks and ordering!

Six of us went for a family meal, We were taken to our table 10 minutes late then waited a further 25 minutes for someone to take our drinks order which when they finaly arrived 2 of the beers were warm and the Frozen ocean mocktail was just a glass of some strange tasting liquid, when asked about it the waiter replied he didn't know it was supposed to be frozen and anyway the slush machine was broken. Eventually after being there around 50 minutes our food order was taken, We ordered 3 x mixed fajitas for for 2 people 10 minutes after the order was taken we were informed that they had run out of prawns but would substitute this with extra beef and chicken. When the food arrived it wasn't sizeling as would be expected infact it wasn't very hot at all, On our serving plate were 3 strips of beef and 8strips of chicken hardly any onions or peppers and this was for 2 people at a cost of £30.00 we complained but were told there was no manager available however after a short while the manager arrived and was very appologetic and said we had been given 3 individual portion by mistake and he comented that he could see there were no 2 person serving plates on the table. Overall we found the food quality to be of a poor standard, the service very slow with the staff having somewhat of a don''t care attitude and a basic lack knowlage as to what they weredoing, I have given a 1 star rating as it will not allow me to give a zero. We will never be returning again, this was a totally ruined evening.

me and my partner went to eat there, got put onto a table which was no bigger than the napkin sat on it, couldnt fit into the table, and when asked if we could move was rude about this, also no social distancing applied in here, back to back with everyone in there and people sitting to side,Will never return

Visited on a friday night with family, as a vegetarian I struggled to find anything on menu as I was going to substitute the meat for veg in the burritos but was told we have no veg....so ended up having a cheese quasadia with rice. Not very filling at all. My family are from texas and was expecting more from a Mexican meal.really felt it wasnt worth the money that we payed.

We ordered a burrito and tacos and got a burnt chimmichanga and no tacos... I want to support the local businesses like this one but it makes it difficult when the chef clearly does not care.

Just ordered a takeaway from Tequila's, Spaghetti with salmon in creamy sauce, and gluten free Taco Ensalada with beef, with a side. The meal was delivered exactly on time, and the food was hot and extremely good. Would definitely order again, and hope to visit once the Covid 19 restrictions are lifted.

Went on the Sunday night for Valentines. Food was really nice . We did ask the waitress if we could have a gap in between our starter , she said there normally was . Not long after clearing our plates our main meal arrived!! Food was delicious. Unfortunately there was a family group of French ? With very noisy children , which they did not even try to control at all !! You could see other customers were getting annoyed too . This was at 8.45 with very young children. The staff did nothing . We got our bill and left , which was a shame as we had enjoyed our evening up until that point . We have children ourselves, but at no point did they try to stop them from banging a chair , screaming and disrupting the entire restaurant. The staff let the restaurant down a little, which was a shame as the food was good .

Recently visited for a meal and few drinks. This place is small and can get very busy so I would reccomend booking in advance. There were mainly couples but were some large parties present also. For drinks we had a large jug of sangria to share, it was nice but not as good as you would get abroad, it seemed very watered down from the start. The starters was a nachos which was amazing, very nice and cheesy as you would expect. For mains I had the fajitas, very small portion but excellent for quality. We didn't have desserts but did find our overall experience was good here, I first visited back in 2015 which was just as good although the sangria was better then! Overall very good, lovely staff, can be a bit pricey but for that they do serve up some very fine Mexican cuisine, will definitely visit again.

What a lovely place! The food is delicious, authentic, tasty and the cocktails are great too! You can either do tapas mexican style or go for mains, either way it’s difficult to choose as it’s all yummy! Service can be a little slow when ready to pay the bill but other than that we will definitely be back!

Close to our hotel, we found Tequilas on our last night. The staff were friendly and accomadating. Fan of Mexican dishes, food was good, but wasn't blown away by the mains, i would say over priced for what you get. But on the otherhand, desserts were really good. Washed down with a desperado. Overall a decent meal out.

My wife booked this venue for our one year wedding anniversary. Upon arrival we were greeted by a flustered waiter. The place was evidently busy and the man seemed not focused on the job at hand. The first problem was the man could not find our booking, we had booked two months prior to arriving and provided evidence of this with our saved email which confirmed booking. A few minutes later the waiter squeezed us in ( even though we had booked anyway ) he then disappeared and retuned 30 minutes later to take our drinks order! By this point myself and my wife were feeling rather fed up and disappointed with such abysmal service. The drinks arrived and the man rushed off! The drinks were wrong and were not the drinks we ordered. Ten minutes later the correct drinks appeared. Then we ordered a starter ( another 35 minutes passed ) for an average and simple plate of onion rings. Anyway we made our main order..... an entire hour passed before our single order of chicken fajitas arrived! No apologies whatsoever! An awful experience and we will never return again. Many thanks to the kind gentle man who was sat opposite us who was also waiting 45 minutes for his food to be served! He was lovely and as we left he kindly got my wife’s coat and put it on her! The best service we received all night! Manners cost nothing and we cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone.

We went on New Year’s Eve for a meal and wasn’t very impressed with the food we was given. It wasn’t very flavoursome which is what you’d expect from a Mexican restaurant.We also asked for some hot chilli sauce and got given sweet chilli sauce. Not very impressed when I usually hear good things about this restaurant.

Was excited to go to Tequilas...however...food was good, atmosphere lively. Waitrons awful ~ rude obnoxious, had to tally the bill more than once. Asked for the loo and the waiter said he didn’t know where it was. Wow, avoid this one if you can, takeout from here will be great, but avoid the rest.

OK so this may not be the best Mexican food I have ever eaten nor the most authentic. But it was delicious food and good service - fast and attentive. We were a bit worried after reading some of the reviews on here but would happily come back. There was background music but I wouldn't describe it as a noisy place. Better for vegetarians than the menu implies as they can replace the meat filling in any of the mains with a delicious vegetable filling. The chicken filling also recommend.

Table of 6, took 55 minutes from order to food arriving, after a gentle reminder, then some was cold, obviously pre cooked and reheated, we did express our displeasure but the staff just smiled at us, no apology.

Five of us visited on Saturday 9th Nov 2019. The food was very good and reasonably priced. The serving staff were great but overworked as the restaurant was full and so service was slow. Unsurprisingly the very full restaurant was very noisy but the loud "background" music didn't help. We'll go midweek next time!

Excellent food and generously sized portions, good value, quick service. Really good flavours and the puddings to die for and indeed my wife thinks I might after the sticky toffee pudding - serious outch calories! Staff could be a bit more smiley!

Just eaten here. Food was really tasty and the service was fast and friendly. We had chimichangas and they were delicious. The rice was lovely too! Would recommend! Would have been nice to see a bigger selection of lager or draught beer but the food made up for the few beer choices.

The food is very unremarkable but the service is bad. Once I’d settled in, removing my coats etc.. on a cold night, the waiter informed me that it was a cash only restaurant.. I had to dress up again, and brave the cold to fetch some cash. That’s ok, but doesn’t put one in the best of moods (and weird taht a restaurant of this size doesn’t do card payments.... seems dodgy to me). I ordered “a burger and chips”, as stated on the menu - and was given a plate with a burger and chips, and then a side order of chips. When I asked why I’d been given double chips, the abrupt and brusque waiter said it was what I’d ordered. I explained, reasonably, that I’d simply read out what was on the menu - he eventually removed the extra chips and adjusted the bill, but with bad grace. I asked for the WiFi code, there were two visible WiFi networks connected with the restaurant showing on my network searcher, but the waiter told me he couldn’t give the code as it was ‘connected with the cameras, so a security issue’. This sounded a nonsense to me, especially as I could see there were two WiFi’s networks, but whatever. The restaurant was weirdly empty too - the whole experience uneased me and I felt there was something not quite right about the place. I won’t be back.

We had a family birthday meal here tonight. There were 5 of us and it took 2 hours to have starter and main course.

Recently visited here with friends, having not been for a while. We shared a few tapas as a starter- nachos were good, onions rings weren’t anything special.

Had a birthday meal here and thought it was outstanding. A very nice bottle of Malbec with some olives. We shared 6 tapas dishes between 2 which was perfect and squeezed in an ice cream. The variety in the tapas was good with just the right amount of chilli. Staff were friendly and professional. A great night.

The tapas was lovely and decor was bright. We went quite early on in the evening and we’re told they would need our table back by 8pm which was fine but maybe look at making a reservation before hand. All in food was ok atmosphere was ok but can imagine it is better as it gets busier.

This was a lovely meal. The food all tasted great and the chicken chimichanga was absolutely packed with chicken. Strawberry mojito was gorgeous. We left very full and satisfied with our meal. Also considering the drinks and starters we had it’s wasn’t that expensive! Really great!!

We where a group of 7 5 of whom are gluton intollerant. This was an ideal choice to eat at.

Food mediocre. Disgusting fried ice cream that chef insisted had been deep fried but had definitely never seen any heat

I visited Tequila's with my partner for a birthday celebration, the food was excellent and fresh, and the service was also very good. We had BOGOF cocktails during happy hour and 3-4-2 beers as well (San Miguel). The food came out in good time and their was plenty of choice on the menu, we had two tapas dishes for a starter (nachos and chicken strips). We then had chicken tacos and chicken fajitas for our mains, and shared churros for dessert. It was delicious.

Went here whilst visiting Lincoln last weekend. Superb service and fresh cooked food. Huge portions!! Recommend !!!

We decided to visit this restaurant while on business in Lincoln. Due a meeting we was held up and decided to ring the restaurant to move our reservation. The woman that we spoke to was very rude about the situation, but luckily she did move the booking.

It’s a shame, as I had such high hopes going in! I wanted to eat at an independent restaurant to support the local community and was very let down.

We came here with friends and the food was amazing!!! You get so much for your money. We've also had a take away from Tequilas which was just as good as sitting in the restaurant.we highly recommend Tequilas!!!!!!

This was my 3rd visit to Lincoln and every time I make reservations here.

Having never been to Tequilas before I visited with my husband and some friends for an early evening meal. There was lots of choice on the menu and after a lot of deliberations we ordered some tapas dishes to share for starters and had a main course. The food was delicious and so filling we were pleased to find that the cocktails were buy one get one free until 7pm. The waiters were very friendly and attentive and we all left feeling very full but happy. I will definitely return.

Love Tequilas, been there about 3 times now and always very good, good service. Would recommend this place.

Terrible. Low quality. Low quantity. I have been here several times and it has gone downhill. How can you charge money for 20 tortilla chips and a gram of cheese?

When we went midweek we were the only people in here. The service was friendly. The menu was pretty standard tapas and the good was ok but nothing special.

Both very tasty meals but lacked spice. I had enchiladas, my partner had the beef fajitas. The beef had a mouth watering taste, but was quite chewy. I had the enchiladas which would've been a 10/10 meal if it was spicy. Both were very mild (like, korma-mild). Throw in some chilli-powder and I'll be sold!

we spent a wonderful evening enjoying great food served by lovely staff at brilliant prices one of our friend is GF and the staff were very knowledgeable and helpful.

We do love this little restaurant. We come here often and have never faulted the food although sometimes staff could be quicker and wait times. Great time though and would recommend

There were 5 of us eating here, a lovely place, great surroundings, warm and colourful. The meat eaters had great meals, good value and plenty of it. However I ordered a veggie burger, expecting something at least homemade, but it was a cheap bought veggie grill, with one small peice of lettuce and one slice of tomato , it came with a small portion of chips and cost around £10 - very very poor quality and poor value - certainly wouldn't recommend.

Visited yesterday for tea with the girls. Highly recommend this restaurant & I can’t wait to come back. The setting is lovely. Nicely decorated. The staff are super friendly. I took a recommendation for Mexican fried ice cream. It was amazing. Thank you
