Lovely food..great choice of Tapas; loved the pardon peppers and goats cheese. Also good selection of wines and service great.

The most fantastic food and drink one could hope for. The owner is absolutely wonderful, and the staff provide the best service. I can’t recommend the food highly enough, fantastic no matter what you order.

Nice welcome but the restaurant lacked atmosphere- a cold, wet evening and it didn’t feel cosy at all. Decent menu and our drinks and food order were taken promptly. Sardines - out of a jar/tin Charcuterie- very samey , not a good mix of textures and flavours Artichokes- jarred and heated Potatoes- deep fried and drizzled with pre-made aioli Salad - meh Prawns- nothing special So looked forward to coming to this restaurant but won’t be back. What a missed opportunity to use local suppliers and quality ingredients. Also left smelling like I’d been deep fried.

Rustic little gem serving authentic tapas with a well stocked bar of Spanish wines and beers. Service was friendly and attentive and the venue had a nice homely buzz about the place even on a Wednesday night. We'll be back....

It would be no exaggeration to say that I had a life-affirming experience at Tempranillo last week, which is not something you can often say about a restaurant outing. We booked in for a celebration mid-week and the food and service were fantastic, a really memorable meal in its own right. Just as we were getting up to leave my mother felt faint and, as she’s in her 80s, we thought it best to call an ambulance (this was no reflection on the fantastic food - apart from the possibility that she may have overindulged! – and she quickly recovered). The staff could not have been more kind and helpful, even giving the paramedics complementary tapas which they were very grateful for. I’ll certainly be going back to this gem of a restaurant, with less drama next time hopefully.

The tapas dishes were flavoursome and served hot, and the menu offered plenty of choice. The staff were really pleasant and we enjoyed our evening tasting various dishes. The restaurant itself was very quiet (there are two small rooms with high and low tables, and stone flooring). It perhaps lacked a tiny bit of atmosphere on what felt like a wintry mid-week evening: maybe the warm glow of candles on tables would have helped in this regard. The background guitar music was lovely though. The staff recommended selecting three tapas each, which was spot on. It was great to try a lentil based dish from the menu, and the alcachofas were super tasty. There were 2 desserts choices on the menu too. The prices seemed reasonable and the tip is automatically added to the bill.

Wow. What fantastic food and staff. You won’t be disappointed! Very reasonably priced and fab atmosphere, authentic tapas and great vibe.

Very nice welcome, with the young man walking out from behind the bar with a huge smile, great selection of dishes, nicely cooked food and lovely wine. First time here tonight and really enjoyed it. Will definitely come back again.

Really accommodating especially given we booked a table for 4 and turned up as a 5. Food was fabulous, staff quick at bringing it and quick at helping clear empty bowls throughout.

The plates come out individually so we had the ‘salad’ on its own, 10 mins later the croquettes, 10 mins later the patatas bravas and then a very slow 15 minutes later the Albondigas. Ok if you had 10 dishes and had 2 or 3 at a time, but I don’t want to eat potatoes on their own! The ‘salad’ I would call salsa not salad, as tiny bits of chopped tomato onion and cucumber (very little olive and no dressing) was pathetic. The potatoes had one bad/ black one in it. The meatballs were just 2 huge balls on a plate. We’ve eaten in Spain a lot and this did not compare well. Oh yes - and if you’ve checked the menu on the website - beware as the prices online are probably the pre Covid ones! Not somewhere I would ever return to..

Unfortunately had a very disappointing experience here. We came on a work Christmas party so we didn’t get choice of food. The food was so limited I thought that it was just the starters we had been served when they took our plates. The vegetarian options consisted of bread, potatoes, inedible, vinegary olives in a salad and a lentil dish. The lentils looked very tasty but unfortunately had pieces of chorizo in which hadn’t been explained by the waitress and two of the vegetarian members of the group ate a mouthful of this. I’m not the kind to write bad reviews and can say the bar staff were lovely, but the food was just bad. Those who did eat meat still complained of being hungry afterwards.

Visited this cute little tapas bar on a Saturday evening with family. It has a great Spanish feel to it; tapas was delicious and staff were welcoming. We will definitely return!

Just thoroughly enjoyed tapas with an Alhambra Spanish beer in a fabulous restaurant in the cobbled streets of Macclesfield, although you might be forgiven for thinking your tastebuds have just been to transported to Andalucía - Very friendly staff and very pleasant atmosphere- would recommend

This is a tapas restaurant, tucked away in a side street halfway up the hill from Macclesfield train station. I think that it's a wonderful place to eat and share food with people... but I noticed that those with me neither shared their plates nor would try anything that I couldn't finish from my selection. I wonder if that's a post-covid thing that I'll have to get used to, but I thought that a tapas bar was about sharing. As per most tapas places, the food was amazing but prohibitively expensive. My fives plates and a drink came to £50, which was a bit of a shock. There's a relaxed atmosphere here, and it was the right sort of temperature to enjoy the food. Getting there might be a struggle for people as there is a gradient and cobbled roads to negotiate, so consider this if wearing slippery footwear or have mobility issues. All in all, a good recommendation for those who visit Macclesfield.

Was flabbergasted when I got the £24 bill for two drinks - double G&T and double Vodka and ice. Service was poor and the waitress didn’t put a slice of lemon in the G&T.

Absolutely amazing authentic tapas. We actually live in Spain and I’d say it’s better than some Spanish tapas we have had there. Id highly recommend the Iberian ham and cherry pate. I’m coming back for that alone Very friendly service from Grace also.

Not been here for a while and not reviewed since Covid. I'm pleased to say that the restaurant is going from strength to strength. Was 32nd in Macc on TA, now 27, I said it last time and I'll say it again, it deserves to be higher. Didn't book far enough in advance and took a table at 5.45pm on a busy Saturday. All the staff are very friendly and we were warmly welcomed. During the evening they asked us what we thought and also explained which dishes would be served a little later than the others. Ordered 6 vegetarian dishes and enjoyed all of them. I must mention the Mushroom Croquetas again, I'd forgotten how good they really were. The house Red is tasty and well priced. Slight downside was the young, sweary shouty guy with the tatts. 4 bottles between 5 plus cocktails probably the cause. He used the ladies toilet and didn't wash his hands, disgrace.

Went out with some friends, and had a fantastic experience. The staff were friendly, helpful, and very efficient. The wine was excellent, the food was, without exception, superb, and at the end of the night the bill was very reasonable, too. I'd definitely recommend trying Tempranillo out, and I will very definitely be going back again!

I have eaten here many times, Always lovely staff and really fantastic good value food. The food is really authentic and delicious. We always order padron peppers among others, easy to get this one wrong, often in other restaurants they are greasy and soggy but here they are delicious with the authentic sea salt crunch

With a group of six for birthday celebrations. Ambience is lovely, nicely lit & cosy. Good selection of beers & wines. Plenty to choose from the food menu. All the dishes we chose were really great along with the service. A great night had by all.

We had a very enjoyable evening with our friend. The food was excellent- meatballs, fried shrimp in batter, cheese, cold meats, artichoke with aioli & bread & potatoes. Ice Cream with raisins & Churros with chocolate to finish. Rose Cava & Red & Rose wines with beer. All very good - shame about the service which was very poor- completely disorganised & far from friendly & welcoming which is a great shame as it’s a lovely place.

Another amazing experience at our favourite restaurant for our wedding anniversary. The food is delicious, as usual we are far too much and didn’t have room for dessert! We will definitely be back, we can’t wait for the upstairs to open and return with friends.

Nine of us went for the first time as we were in the area for a wedding the next day. We all had a great night, the food, service and atmosphere are all excellent. . The portions are really good and a great selection. Not an extensive wine menu but enjoyed both the red & white wines we had. Shall definitely be returning when we’re in the area again.

I’m a Spanish, living abroad is tough sometimes, having tempranillo nearby takes away some of the urge of spanish food, specially with the Alhambra beer, best of best. Nice food, nice staff, nice beer, what else I can ask?

As a Spaniard from the south of Spain this restaurant is the perfect place for a quick drink and/or a full meal. We come here on a weekly basis and we love it. Beer is Alhambra and they have it on tap and also the special bottles. Best in Macclesfield. Ben and Amber are top blokes !

Just brilliant!!! Every time I'm here the food is fresh, tasty as hell, and I'm always so comfy (and a bit drunk) the selection of wine is immense! Please eat here, it's a beautiful little place and we are so lucky to have it!
