Temple in Belfast

Well was in tonight and the serviced by a girl called called Michelle served us food was incredible. So friendly and accepting. This girl is a credit to the company. Would come back solely for the craic and the hospitality.

I love the temple food is always super hot and comes really quick I had the mushrooms for a starter and the were delicious then had turkey ham and stuffing for dinner it was beautiful good portions and cocktails r nice

I can’t fault the food it was perfect but we waited 30 minutes from starter to main. This did frustratingly spoil the occasion which is unfortunate.

We have been here before and always enjoyed it but on the last visit we were disappointed. Steaks not as good as before and could do with a bit more on the plate ie mushrooms, tomato, The corkage charge has also increased significantly as we were charged 2 x £3:50 (so £7) not sure if this was for 2 of us or 2 bottles

We visited The Temple on Thursday for a lunch with mum and daughters. The food and service was excellent and our server Colette went above and beyond especially for our 81 year old mum.

We ate here last night, table of 4. All our meals were delicious , fantastic service and lovely interior. I highly recommend this place and will definitely return

I haven’t done a review in years probably because of covid and apathy but after the meal in the Temple I must review because the meals consisting of mushrooms and cheese garlic bread starters followed by massive sirloin with side and Guinness pie and champ were superb. A couple of cokes and a bill of £39 helped. The service was great and everything was on time and pipping hot. I’ll be back and would recommend it.

We went for the early bird menu. Staff were very helpful despite the restaurant being very busy . The food was excellent and good value for money. Steak was cooked to perfection and was very tender. It’s not fine dining but definitely worth a visit.

Habíamos reservado para 7. 45, y aunque algunos llegaron tarde, esto no me molestó en absoluto, comí fishcakes y un sirlion, ambos fueron presentados y tenían un sabor encantador. Very poor experience compounded by the fact that Paul (owner) was aggressively defensive and unwilling to accept any feedback whatsoever despite given the opportunity to discuss. He even told me I was making things up. We will definitely not return to Temple and good luck to any customers attempting to share feedback with Paul.

Great lunch- large portions and reasonable prices. Cute building and nice interior. It’s a redone home turned into restaurant which makes for a cozy eating experience.

Weekend visit to Belfast. This place had great food and I would go back again. You can also bring your own wine. We ordered breaded mushrooms, mussels, onion tartlet with goats cheese, scampi and beef.

Nice staff nice food quick service. Good variety on the menu. Chicken was very dry which is my only negative comment.

Called in here for Sunday lunch. They were very busy. The servings were huge, I had a child's portion - I'm an adult - my aunt had a child's portion too and the third person had an adult portion. Good value for money,

Went for an early dinner to the Temple on Saturday. Everything was excellent, as usual. The staff were very efficient and courteous and the menu was varied and very reasonable. Service was quick and the atmosphere was very nice indeed.

You cant go wrong here. The food is great and the waitresses also excellent. Very popular and recommend booking on a saturday night

We have visited Temple a few times and are always pleased when we leave. They are very accommodating and always make sure we get a table downstairs to suit the mobility challenges of our party. Staff are always friendly and nothing is ever too much trouble. We had a mix of starters first off, squid, cheesy garlic bread, mushrooms and chicken tempura which were all very tasty. For mains 2 of the younger children and the ribs which they loved , Burger from the kids menu was perfect and three of us went for the green curry which looked lovely and was nice but was missing something so tasted a bit bland. Deserts followed which, the usual ice creams, brownies and cheesecake which were all very tasty.

Viernes 10 de noviembre visitó para el almuerzo. Llamamos poco después de las 12 y rápidamente nos llevaron a una mesa. Mientras que el restaurante estaba bastante tranquilo cuando llegamos pronto llenó. La camarera fue muy amable y sonriente, y el servicio era rápido. Curry verde tailandés tenía pollo y mi marido tenía pollo goujons y patatas fritas. Compartimos la avellana y tarta de caramelo. Factura Total que incluía dos refrescos fue de £24. Bien merece una visita.

As always, I return to The Temple when visiting Belfast. The food is consistently good, the service is excellent and the price point can't be beat.

Ha sido algunos años desde mi última visita ya que fue totalmente decepcionado con la última comida. La gente dice, ha mejorado, así que decidí intentarlo. El restaurante es precioso por dentro, personal configuración vieras muy amable no taaan hablador jefe. Me dieron suprema de pollo con puré de patatas y salsa de pimienta, que venía con col y tocino. Primer pollo como principal nombre del plato era miniatura. A través de raciones de bacon diminuto repollo, buena parte de col y puré, thankgoddness me hambre.

Once again an absolutely fantastic meal. Hubby and I went to celebrate our wedding anniversary and going to The Temple was just the perfect ending to a wonderful evening. I would have no hesitation on recommending The Temple to anyone, staff very pleasant, food gorgeous, tasty and warm, and the ambience and atmosphere was excellent. A BIG thank you to Paul and his staff for making our night. We will definitely be back.

Having been long loyal customers of Temple the way we were treated by apparently the manageress was a complete disgrace .We had booked a table and when we arrived there were 3 empty tables for two downstairs but we got the one beside the toilet door !!! I politely asked if we could have one if the other tables but was rudely and dismissively told NO they were booked well so was ours ! We decided to leave and will not be returning I did contact the owner but it would appear he cares as little about his customers as the so called manager he did respond in a very defensive manner and said he would look into the matter I am still awaiting a further response !! There are lots of choices in west Belfast now and we will certainly be giving our money to restaurants that treat people with courtesy and respect.

I came here with my husband and two children. The kids menu was great and had lots of choice. Child number one went for the roast beef and child number two went for the cheese burger and chips. Both loved their food. I had the roast beef also which was really tender. It came with mashed turnip, broccoli and a side of mash potatoes and gravy. It was really delicious. My husband got the battered cod and chips. The batter was nice golden and crisp and the fish was delicious. We had two courses for £15. Husband had chocolate fudge cake and I had pavlova for dessert. Both really tasty. Kids meals came with icecream and a drink. The waitress was really friendly too. We had a lovely relaxed evening here. Will definitely be back.

I brought my wife on our Anniversary for dinner to Temple Restaurant when we arrived ( we had to pre book - advisable ) ,The staff are very friendly and helpful they got us a table right away no waiting the restaurant has a lovely atmosphere . Had a Monday lunch in the pleasant surroundings of the restaurant. Tables were well placed. Service staff were pleasant and efficient.Food better than expected. had a main of roast pork and a bowl of mussels-and what a bowl. Apple crumble with custard was very light and easily eaten. Reasonably well priced. Could easily drive passed so be careful. Would definitely recommend.

It has been a while since I have been here. The food was absolutely delicious, the flavours absolutely amazing. The staff are always welcoming, attentive. Highly recommend this restaurant.

3 of us had a 3 course dinner for £16.50. I'd not been here before but chose here because normally Sunday lunch finishes at 3 or at the latest 5pm, but Temple continues to 7pm. We had a great seat upstairs beside the window with the sun streaming in. The walls are decorated with photos by a local photographer which I enjoyed looking at. We started with chicken tempura, prawns with wheaten, and carrot coconut and chilli soup. We loved them but especially the soup- so tasty and different. For mains we had Sunday roast, lasagne and steak and Guinness pie which all came with choice of side. We weren't going to, I'm not fussed on desserts but we took a look at the menu anyhow. I noticed that choice of coffee was offered as a dessert choice as part of the deal which is something I haven't seen before. But I chose cheesecake. They say the Cheesecake Factory in the states has the best cheesecake but this cheesecake was better than any I've tasted there or anywhere else for that matter. Glad I chose the dessert over coffee! Anyhow, it'll not be long until I'm back here. There was a great atmosphere, the food was served really quickly, the waitresses were really friendly and professional and the cocktails were great. I'll be telling all my friends. I only wished I'd arrived earlier and I could have sat outside in the sun for a while with a cocktail before dinner.

As always we found temple staff very accommodating and there attention to detail very good. Food served well and on time for our whole table. Standard of food excellent.

I have been here a few times with family for lunch or early dinner. I love the way they have kept the character of the old house, and the staff are friendly and accommodating. Generally the food is good, especially the traditional dishes such as sausage and mash or burger, but we have had a few disappointments too. On our last visit (weekday lunch) the mussels were small, not very plump and served in a sauce which appeared to be made only of cream, with little flavour. Other good was all fine but service was slow and we had difficulty finding someone to bring our bill and take our money. So, a nice place to eat but room for a little improvement.

Have eaten in Temple many many times and have always been net with a smile and a warm welcome. Love the food have tried most of the dishes. My favourite has to be the thye green curry. Excellent. The meat was lovely and tender and the sauce was delicious. Can't wait to go back again next month

Decent trip to the Temple restaurant today. Starter came out really quick and was a tad cold, could tell it was pre prepped. 3 of us ordered 3 steaks. 1x Ribeye and 2 Sirloin. 2 out of the 3 steaks were of good size, the other, looked a bit less than advertised 8oz. Service was good, quick and friendly. Price good too. With some tweaks could be a good spot for food in local area.

My family eat in this restaurant regularly, Ever meal has been of the same high quality, The rib eye, in particular, is my favourite and can also recommend either of the choices of pies. They do not scrimp on the filling with large chunks of succulent meat and veg in either the beef or chicken pies. Consistent high quality.Staff are always friendly and service is quick and professional. Any excuse to return, There is parking to the rear and off road. Also easy to get to by public transport,Highly recommend

This must be amongst the finest value restaurants in the city! Saturday evening 3 course for £15.95 between 4.30 & 6.30pm.Service is always excellent and the food is always tasteful and fresh. Extensive menu. Wine is not great if you're a wine fan but the £2.50 corkage on bring your own helpfully sorts that little issue! A real winner every time however I would love to see more of a presence on social media .... spread the word!

Called in starving after a long day. Staff were great and found us a table even though they had bookings coming in soon. Had the roast stuffed pork fillet and veg which was just the kind of home cooked food I was in need of. Would def recommend. Lovely staff and good craic too. Will be back.

Came here on 17th on a whim . It's a lovely day out and friendly.I got the mussel starter .Hmmm the mussles were tiny. Either they are not in season or the chef hasn't sourced his sea food. I then got the thai chicken with rice and fries . With a nan. Maybe we are spoilt in Glasgow as our Indians are some of the best in the UK and nann breads are the size of pillowcases but the nan in the temple ....like the mussles was tiny.The thai chicken curry Hmmm I've never had it with no coconut milk and Hey leeks in it must be a new thing but I'm afraid I'd try the small claims court for trade description as this wasn't in any way a thai curry.the chef needs to go read a book on thai cooking and maybe not buy supermarket nann breads .For the price ..im underwhelmed

This must be the hidden gem of Belfast. We decided to eat out at the last minute so did not expect to gain a table but as luck would have it someone had cancelled. Our experience was an absolute dream , staff couldn't do enough for you Their knowledge of what was available the menu, second to none. choice of food covered all tastes and requirements. When the food arrived it was exactly as we had requested as my wife has a few little things that she requests but doesn't always get in restaurants. The quality of the food was outstanding, we will certainly be back.Taking into consideration the quality of the whole experience it was very reasonably priced and not hard to pay.

We went for birthday Sunday lunch and it was perfect. My friend brought her own wine as this place is BYO which is a big plus. We also brought our own birthday cake and just ordered a bowl of fresh cream and ice cream.It was really busy but we got the attention whenever needed. Waiters did a good job. Will definitely be back. The roast beef was tender and the steak was delicious. I absolutely loved the garlic chips.

Great resturant with a real family feel about it. Staff couldn't do enough continuously checking everything was fine - which It wasFood was delicious as we're the cocktails . Couldn't fault this place at all. This was our first visit and won't be our last.

This is a great spot with lovely food and very reasonably priced..BYO ALSO..although it does have its own bar bringing your own favourite wine is a bonus..

Pre booked for a birthday lunch at what was a busy session, so pre booking recommended. Promptly seated, drinks ordered and served. Unable to order food when requested as no menus had been provided. Oops. Quickly sorted. Carbonara went down well as did chicken goujons, wrong dip provided and changed without issue as was the red wine glass which was provided with prosecco. Bill redone to remove one item incorrectly added.Overall a pleasant experience with a few hiccups but the staff were great and everything was sorted without fuss. So I would recommend at least giving a try for lunch. I know I will be back.

I have been here many times and have yet to get a bad meal. The food is always of high quality. And the portion size is generous. Had the steak with pepper sauce and really enjoyed it. Good staff who are curtious with a great relaxed atmosphere. Just unpretentious good food.

This came highly recommended , we tried this restaurant , uncomfortable big backward looking house , hard to park , staff lovely , food menu was expensive , chicken gouging starter ,tasteless and greasy , fish was exact same . We paid over £30 , and just left our mains , not we expected .

Reasonably priced and they also do an early bird menu if you are working on a budget. Portion size good. Choose between one, 2 or 3 courses. The premises are licensed but, you can also bring your own bottle and only pay a small corkage fee. Great for a romantic meal for 2 or for groups and family gatherings (birthdays/christenings etc.). Seating both upstairs and downstairs.

As we have reviewed before i again have to say this place is great. Paul the manager/boss is very accommodating and helpful. All in all a must when looking good proper food I had a steak it was one of the best I have had my wife had the Thai curry and loved it Thanks to all the staff
