Temple Lounge in Tower Hamlets

Ordered wrap it was horrible, no salas or sauce, bland, greasy and tasteless. Theres a minimum of £15 (which is just ridiculous). Staff kept asking if we are finished when we only starting eating. Avoid this place!!

I have been here every couple of months and the service I receive is always a hit and miss. This time I took some friends for our birthdays just so we can relax in the sun by the river. In total there were about 8 of us doing the BYOB, ordering juices and food frequently. A few of the girls decided they would like to order some food but were told some food contained items they were allergic to and the waiter said he would come back to take their order. When we called another waiter over (as it had been about 30 mins since the previous waiter said he would be back in 5 mins), the second waiter said as we had been there for over 90 mins he is refusing to take our order. The place was far from busy, there were empty tables all around, we were all about to order food which would have costed at least another £100 along with another 2 extra shishas making another £40. Due to his refusal to listen to us and our explanations that we were wanting to order more shisha and food for the whole table we decided to close the tab and leave and go to another shisha bar which we received far better service from. We had to constantly ask for the coals to be changed as there was nobody going round offering to change them, we had to flag down waiters quite a lot. The toilets are absolutely disgusting like a 3rd world country toilets. Although the aesthetic is nice and they have found a prime location, they are losing customers due to the rudeness of the staff. Will never go back here. Although it's quite far away, Tamara Lounge in Uxbridge is my local and I went out of my way to go to Temple Lounge. We all wished we went to Tamara Lounge as their staff are very nice and understanding.

I regularly visit Temple lounge for shisha and some snacks / drinks. The shisha is always good with great variety. I also enjoy their lebanese style of food, especially the arabic mixed grill.The staff is friendly, approachable and attentive...especially trying their best when the place gets uber busy in evenings.

I have found this place great with excellent view ,sheesha is better then another place .They have got delicious food as well I loved this place .

A great place to chill out. Right next to the river. Really cool vibe. The fact it's in the wharf makes it easy to get to from work. The staff are really cool - especially if you get to know them. The food is varied and not too expensive - something for everyone. If you want to impress anyone, friends or work colleagues - this is the place to go!

Staff are amazing, had double Apple shisha and Arab mixed grill. Will definitely return again, if your looking for good food and atmosphere then this is the place to be. By the way good people watching and the ladies are quality.....

I am a white "western" female and I still thought this place was amazing. The food was delicious and the shisha is the best I've tasted in London. The hospitality was good and I didn't for a second think I was being treated differently. Perhaps those that are complaining (the "westerners") were expecting some sort of special treatment but were treated the same as everyone else? The ignorance in these reviews is just something else. People are complaining about a man praying near the rest room? Really? Ignorant not to mention racist people like that should be banned from visiting any place in public let alone be treated nicely. I would say ignore all these blatant racist reviews who can't stand to see a business ran by a coloured man do so well in a prestigious location like Canary Wharf. There's a reason why all other neighbouring restaurants aren't doing as well as temple lounge and that's because they can't compete! The food, shisha and atmosphere as a whole is amazing and it's something different and I would recommend it to all people.

Rude, terrible quality, small portions no tap water. Not worth it. menu is somewhat incredibly misleading Do not go to this shiit hole. Charged us extra £15 pounds as well us mix up our orders told us to hurry up.

The food at the restaurant is really testy. I just loved the indian taste at the restaurant. I forgot my phone at the restaurant which when I went to hotel an hour later was as in position and I just loved that.

Todos son del menú libanesa. Las berenjenas mezze fría estaba recién preparado y muy sabroso. El mezze caliente de pan lleno de cordero picada era igualmente delicioso. Las chili hummus tenía una pasta suave no picante Harissa del tipo en que en vez de pimientos.

Fui a este restaurante ya que estaba al lado de mi Marriott hotel en busca de comida india y era muy prudente en términos de si la comida tendrá gusto indio apropiada o no, pero tengo que decir que la comida era realmente testy y tenía un sabor india apropiada. El personal era bueno. puede disfrutar & hukka así si quieres pero quería comer comida india sólo que era simplemente increíble.

Very angry! I wanted over an hour for food. Shisha was very dry and the staff are rude and don't want to speak to you. I would never recommend this place.

The waiting staff loves to make rules on the fly. It was clear that it's 2-hrs max for a Shisha (which is absolutely acceptable for a busy place). We were done with our Shisha, and the food on other tables looked nice, so we decided we would have dinner here, instead of moving-on. The waiter said that we couldn't do that since we were nearly completing our two hrs. We asked if we could go out and come back in (there was no queue or waiting!) and whether that would be okay. He said yes. When we went back to the entrance, the maitre'd was confused, as to why we would leave. Cue further 5 mins of confusion between the waiting staff - on what to do with us. Couple of more points:* They don't serve tap water* There's BYOB - but it's' subject to the whims and fancies of your waiterThere was a further set of arrogant, inconsistent and just generally weird behaviour; but I'm not spending more time on this place.

Despite being jet lagged from the long trip from LA, my wife and i were determined to have a good meal before we retired for the night. And we were rewarded....Having stumbled upon the restaurant, we did not have high expectations. The staff were very welcoming and recommended us the hummus, falafel, tabouleh, grill chicken wings some warm pita bread and a lebanese mixed grill platter with rice. Everything was unbelievably delicious.No alcohol is served here but the Manager explain us they allow to bring our own wine. The service is excellent, well attended, friendly and punctual.The lemonade and fresh strawberry daiquiri is homemade and great. Also serves sheesha (which we did not try).We will definitely come back to it if we stayed close by again.

I hv been here so many times , and I really enjoyed. View is outstanding, huge lounge ever i think ..best is there quality,fresh make everything's .would come back aging in shaa allah .

We waited 40 minutes to be seated, it wasn't even packed. We were only a group of 3 and they struggled to accommodate us. They let in several groups of 3 that waited less time than us and even had the audacity to ask us for ID when we were only ordering shisha like everyone else, eventually I did show the girl my ID and she still couldn't find a seat for us. They were only making shisha and not food but the waiting times were atrocious. The manager ended up speaking to us and he somehow managed to make it worse by being rude and offering us a table of 5 with the likelihood of being moved if another group of 5 arrived. So we ended up just leaving and the worst part is I will never get that 40 minutes of my life back. What a terrible, terrible place and the staff were the worse I have ever encountered.

This was my first visit to Temple Lounge by recommendation. It won't be my last. We have had Lebanese food before but this was far better than any of it. As I personally am a lover of spicy foods I had the Batata Harara(spicy potato) starter and it was delicious. Everything we had was very nice, Meat is tender and juicy, Portions generous too. The service was amazing and caring throughout the evening. The atmosphere is very unique in a great location.We would definitely go back again with family next time.

Me and my wife went there. Very nice place, food is great and so much to choose from. Maybe best shisha place in London because of the view and area. Defo will visit every time when I'll go to London.

It is a wonderful place to visit... The food was awesome, the waiters were so friendly and the service was really good!! And I also think the shisha they have is the best shisha in London. I absolutely loved it!!!! Will visit soon again xx

So I travelled all the way from outside London to celebrate my birthday in temple with my friends.. We waited for good 5min to be seated and the guy just told us "30min to wait and then we will close" and when one of my friends commented on it "you really don't want us here, do you?" he replied with a smile and walked off. And it's not the first time going there & being refused like this Terrible terrible terrible

I've visited here on numerous occasions both alone and with friends. to be fair the shisha and food is of a decent standard. However, the service, lack of English from the staff and their scruffy looks let down the place. The establishment need to realise they are operating in an elite location, and not in the back alleys of brick lane. The cash only policy has to be a way of understating revenue, as it is inexcusable not to have card machines in the middle of canary wharf in London in 2015.

I went there yesterday with friends for my birthday. We got a seat as soon as we got there which was good. We ordered food and shisha that was good. They close at 11:30, so they start packing away. I got up to go toilet, when I came back 2 of my drinks were taken. When I asked where it was they said oh we thought it was finished which it clearly wasn't. Another guy took the shisha off me because they were closing. They also told everyone that they were closing so basically get out which was rude. When you go to restaurants and stuff they never tell you to leave, these people didn't care and you can't pay the bill separate, everyone has to pay together. It's just run by young boys who don't know anything about customer service. Don't think I'll come here again.

Went with family for eat, couldn't even order because all the staff was staring at us felt uncomfortable and left without eating, worst place ever won't recommend for families, rude and horrible staff they need to learn some manners how to treat families. ..

me and my friends have been coming here for quite a while and we really enjoy it, they have good customer service their Shisha is good and so is there food. Most of all has a beautiful view and great atmosphere would recommend it to all of you.

The first thing we were asked was not the usual 'Good afternoon. A table for two?' but 'It's cash only and the policy is £10 minimum spending per person'... No further comment

Please do not waste your time travelling and money traveling to the worst shisha place I have EVER Ever been too. Staff are incompetent, rude and idiotic. They don't care about customers nor do they care about treating you well.

Shishah very nice, great atmosphere in a top location. But downhill from there, service some of the worst ive ever experianced. Wouldnt join 2 tables for a party of 10 for no reason at all. Had toSplit with 5 being seated and 5 on an apparent waiting list which they ignored once the guys went in the car to wait. When we complained they laughed at us and were not bothered. Admant on the £10.00 spending limit and we were reminded twice on the time limit within 1 hour of smoking!!Lucky for their location , otherwise their lack of customer service will result in a lack of business.

First time ive been here, walked in and the staff explaining how it works...cash only and something about £10 per person, which didnt make sense. Really rude and up themselves...yet they were skanky little boys and not well groomed lets just say! As we didnt have anywhere to go, we stayed. atmosphere was dead, no music, sat away from the main area. then there was time limit of 2 hours, after an hour they handed us the bill to say you have 30mins left. They charged us an extra £4 so that it was £10 per person..they could have explained it and offered a dessert or something. Seriously rude, attitude and moody staff. To top it off, they stood around like bouncers and reading my friends phone messages behind her. Seriously sort the staff out, if you are in a prestige area...then have prestige service! #dontgotemplelounge

Lovely food. Ok service the waiters seemed like random guys so you couldnt work out the who they were. Didnt try the sisha so i cant comment on that. Liked the fact you could take your own alcohol and the deal to a pay a minimum £20 ph isnt bad. Only con, they serve lamb chops in the sizzler but you cannot buy a seperate portion and it only comes with one chop(which is supposedly to share).

I came here with my friends ,that was my first visit! I really enjoyed here !There shishaa was great .I tried so may places bt I did not enjoy .Nice location good service! I saw so many bad reviews bt I don't understand why people see only bad stuff ,guys u hv to understand them they are so busy !I ll recommend guys if u want to chill out go to temple lounge .They hv another branch at Oxford as well !

My first visit at Temple for my bday came from northampton.must say was worth it.Great food and excellent service.was recommended apple pomegrenate and mint flavour by a staff abz that was nice would recommend people to try this flavour.The environment is beautiful.I recommend people to go n see and try out yourself dont take those comments from people thats giving negative experience.All staff are great smiley and welcoming and food is delicous!

One of the best sheesha place in uk.Their food , sheesha and service always excellent.Always packed and the maintain quiet nicely. Awesome atmosphere mind blowing view . Price are reasonable.But one thing I have to say only cash payment and limited time ....

1. Shisha is not that good2. Food is basic for the money they charge 3. Staffs ARE extremely inexperienced and rude. It is a shame that a place like this is located in Canary Wharf.It was the first time and it will be the last time that I visit this place.

It was my first visit at south quay temple lounge and i have never ever been made to feel very uncomfortable during my visit. The reason why is cz the bengali staff are very pervy and flirty. They talk and stare at girls in a uncomfortable way in their group at the front. I went there with my girls for a birthday to chill out and relax I didnt go there to hook up with the waiters. The food that I ordered was a disappointment the lamb tasted as though it had been reused and had really chewy fat in it (the waste from the lamb) chips were cold and no music! ! The drink were terrible and had to send them back t o the kitchen. No apology  was made and no replacement was offered.One last thing that I was shocked at was that two waiters came upto our table to smoke shisha NOT to spark the shisha or anything they asked can we have some. I understand if we knew them and they did that but we didn't know the guys. My mouth dropped open at that minute.My advise go somewhere value for your money where your not perved on!!

Staff are rude and incompetent. They are unable to communicate in a nice manner. All they do is talk about how much minimum spend you have to meet. Don't go here unless you want to smoke rubbish shisha around horrible staff!

Very very poor service. I asked a few times for a coal change on the shisha. It took them 30 mins to get a coal! Very rude staff!! They look at girls in a wrong way. Also was told not to move a chair as my friend has just moved it slightly because he was directly under the heater. No apologies given or no please nothing at All! Tried overcharging us as well!!! The best thing i can say that shisha was average that's about it. Definitely NOT worth your money!!!

The worse shisha place I have ever been... poor service... crappppp food... worse staff...specially staff is so rude and full of Asians... no manners how ro deal with the customers... One guy cane and asked us to move the chairs.. He was so rude...I believe 10000% waste of moneysuggest not to visit don't go on the location if staff and service is poor what's the point.

Decent place with good food BUT waiters desperately needing a crash course in customer service . They don't accept cards which is very annoying ESP if it's your first visit .

The most rude staff you will ever encounter. After finishing our meals we ordered some tap water and were told they dont serve it! When asked why we were told 'well why should we' We were also constantly being told to hurry up and leave due to customers Waiting. The decor is nice to look at but very uncomfortable to sit in. Wobbly chairs and tables, you're jammed in to the place like sardines.

Terrible shisha place with terrible service. Once we arrived were told it would be a 10 minute opening time. It was already 2pm. Then we told to come back at 4pm. You should update your website. Won't be visiting again.

This place has improved immensely to one of the best Shisha places in london. Foods great too and a good mixed crowd tops it off.

Went today with office colleagues for a lunch and all 11 of us had decided never to come back here. Food is good but the service sucks. Waiters have so high attitude like they are doing some charity to you. Not serving the tap water is the most annoying thing that anyone would ever say in the way their waiters say to you We gave them business of 150 pounds and if this is how they treat their customers, I would never be one of them.

Went with friends to try the new flavour, which is something out of ordinary. Try 20% paan and 80% kiwi! Great atmosphere, responsive staff and chilled atmosphere!

I've been going to Temple for the past one & half years now. The place has evolved considerably from when it first opened. Tabaco quality is outstanding as well as the food. I have seen some comments here about the service being not the best and I would have to disagree. The service is excellent for a shisha lounge. The place is always packed, even on weekdays, which speaks for itself. People do not tend to que for something they don't like, especially in London.Amazing Lebanese & Indian food.The best shisha in London.Good Location.Friendly Staff !!Highly Recommended !!

Me and my friend came here for the first time and wow, we have never experienced such disgusting service in the whole of our lives.We ordered sheesha and around £20 worth of food plus soft drinks. It took around 40 minutes for the food to come which was fine, we didn't have a problem with this. My friend's rice was very salty so she asked for a new lot of rice. I then asked for a tap water as I had medication to take. The man said they don't offer tap water but I could buy a bottle if I liked. I said no I wanted tap water and he said he would get a manager, Another waiter came out and said the same thing about tap water being unavailable, we were getting highly agitated at this point.Nav (the owner) then comes out and explains that as they don't serve alcohol they do not have to provide tap water. We explain about the medication and he is still adamant that we can't have any tap water. In fact what he says to us is "get the f out of here, leave now, I don't need customers like you". He said it very aggressively and was very threatening. My friend said we wouldn't be paying for anything and he ordered the waiter to remove everything from our table. He said he would call the police to have us removed. My friend told him to go ahead as we wasn't being told to move and that we would leave in our own time. Another man then came out to try and calm down the situation and said that yes I should have been given a tap water if it was for medical reasons and that he was sorry but that we need to leave. We spoke to the ladies next to us for around 5 minutes and then decided to leave. A waiter came running after us asking us to pay. We ignored him and left. As we got to the bottom of the stairs there were two security guards. We had actually seen one smoking sheesha there earlier on in the night. They didn't say anything to us but when we walked over the road to the car park and got in the lift we noticed they had followed us. We will actually be taking this further due to the threatening behaviour and the behaviour of the security guards. I'm assuming they have some agreement in place as we saw the security guard smoking sheesha in there in his uniform. I've never been refused a tap water even in places that don't serve alcohol, and the fact that we had actually spent more than the minimum spend made it all even worse. The owner has one thing on his mind and that is money, no customer service skills whatsoever and I sincerely hope his branches in London and Oxford end up closing down and I will certainly do all I can to help in this. Also you can't book tables here so expect to wait for around one hour at busy times. They have their favourites and regulars which they reserve tables for and no one else. A total shambles. I honesty recommend staying away and finding another location.

Never have I been to a restaurant or shisha bar that give you absolutely disgusting customer service its almost unheard of. I wouldnt even touch this place with a barge pole. They even refuse to give you tap water due to their policy - they are obviously above the law AND have the audacity to talk to you so rudely. One word - disgusting.

This restaurant has the worst service I have seen in sometime. The staff are so rude and arrogant. They charge you by the number of people sitting and will charge £10 minimum even if you have someone sitting who isn't eating at all. Plus they take speak to you as if they are doing you a favour by allowing you to sit in their restaurant with often threats like you should know this or you can leave!! Horrible service!

We were here on a rainy day, and we were in the tent outside. Somehow, even under the tent, everything was wet. We were forced to move to another table, and even though there were 5 of us, they would only give us a table for 4, so we had to squish. Service was non-existent. It took a long time to be able to order food, and we found ourselves ordering drinks 2 or 3 at a time, because we knew it would take so long to get the next round (also no alcohol is served in this restaurant, but you can bring your own). In addition, this is used as a shisha bar, so you will be inundated with smoke throughout your meal.The food was alright. The best thing on the menu is the lentil soup. Besides that, the food ranges from ok (mixed grill, humous, haloumi) to inedible (sausages).Overall, if you're looking for lebanese, make the trip anywhere else. This place is not worth it.

I visited temple lounge on a sunday night as a group of 5. We ordered 3 sheeshas and drinks all arrived promptly. Staff were very friendly and even moved us to a more comfortable table without us asking. They even gave us free baclava as one of us was getting married that week. I would recommend this place to those who are looking for a relaxing sheesha without the noise (music) and they will even arrange an area for you to pray.

Ive been here a few times and the shisha is some of the best in London (bluemist), far better than edgeware road. They have canopies to keep the rain away, heaters for the winter and friendly staff if you bother to start a conversation.

I agree with one of the previous comments saying this place does not fit in in Canary Wharf. In the wharf you expect customers to be treated fairly. I have a number of issues with this place: they do not accept card, cash only. They have a bring your own booze policy as they don't serve alcohol which is fine, but in order to BYOB you need to spend a minimum of £20 per person. We ordered a meze sharing platter - we asked the waiter what we would get in this and what we actually got was quite different. There is a minimum spend of £10 per person which should have been made clear to us when we ordered. They do not serve tap water!!This is a shisha place which would explain the holes in the outside seats but i couldnt understand why the seats were so dirty. The place seems popular with young people that want to smoke shisha, but do not go there for food, especially if you dont like shisha smoke blowing in your face whilst you are trying to eat.

It was a hot day and I fancied some food with a friend without having to deal with the general rammed bar culture associated with the area. We normally chooise Wagamama but decided to do something a bit different.On the whole strip of restauarants in the area this was the only place that wasn't busy (at all) with only 3 or 4 tables occupied. After eating there we find out the reason why.Rules:Cash only (!) - is this some kind of VAT scam? Who does that these days in Canary Wharf of all places?A minimum of £10 spend per head - this was fine as most main dishes are about £9 anyway.Maximum of 2 hour stay - this was OK with us as we just wanted a quick meal but I wouldn't want to do this normally. What a ridiculous rule anyway as the place was less than a quarter full. Maybe enforce that at busy times, but clearly this should have been a busy time considering the number of people gathered in and outside of the other places in the area.Service:Despite the 2 hour maximum stay, it took a while for menus to arrive and a further 15 minutes for an order to be taken. I can understand big groups might take a while to decide but there were just 2 of us.We both ordered the same Shawarma main meal and a starter. The starter came after the main course. The lamb was dry and fatty at the same time. I ate a Lamb Shawarma at Disney World of all places which was of better quality.Facilities:The toilets were inside at the back of what looked like a bar going under renovation. The soap dispenser was filled with water instead of soap.-----I'm very surprised this place has lasted a whole year. I fully expecte them to be going out of business very soon unless they seriously change their attitude towards service.

Habré estado en peores sitios, pero nunca me habían echado de un restaurante o un café porque se me ha acabado el tiempo!!! Aquí os dejo mi experiencia negativa 1 - el personal es indio y no domina la lengua inglesa, los camareros son antipáticos y maleducados. 2 - Aquel día tardaron mucho en recoger la mesa y traer la shisha despues de comer, luego me dijeron textualmente "here is your bill, your time is up" a las dos horas de llegar al restaurante no de servir la chicha 3- No te cambian constantemente el carbón, les tienes que llamar para que vengan a cambiarlo y a veces pasan de ti 4 - a la comida libanesa NO SE LE ECHA TANTO CURRI.. y eso me parece muy grave... de libanés nada, es un indio que pretende ser libanés... 5 - No sirven cerveza, me parece muy bien y lo respeto, pero no me lo digas nada más entrar, tampoco voy a emborracharme en un restaurante oriental!!

Love this place,convenient location, great and friendly service, showed world cup, amazing shisha(plenty of flavours to pick from).Food is also amazing- you can choose from lebanese or indian. I am here at least 3 times a week and not planning to go anywhere else.

Great shesha selection with food that tingles your taste buds. Defiantly one of my top shesha places to go that also holds a beautiful view of canary wharf! Service for coals are also frequent!

Disgusted with the staff terrible service!!! Staff had no manners!!! Starters came out after main course!!! Did not even sere TAP water!!! I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU NOT TO GO TO THIS PLACE!!!

Came here with my best friend firstly because of the jaw dropping location and view and secondly because everyone has been telling me of how good the sheesha is here. If you are hungry.... Go for the "temple special chicken" ... Mouth watering.... The view is great during the day with tons of sunshine and in the evening with the tall corporate building lights... No car noises, no loud people, no beggars... Pure chillaxing and zen!

Been to many lounges across London, have to say temple lounge is one of the top places to go. The view is beautiful, the staff are very helpful and food/sheesha is top notch.

I was skeptical about this place at first after hearing mixed reviews. However I'm glad I came here, it has become my local shisha spot! The Lebanese food is on point, a mix of super friendly staff and an excellent location make for a glorious atmosphere, and amazing shisha experience! I highly recommend this place to everyone!

Temple lounge canary wharf is a decent shisha lounge. Good shisha and nice Lebanese food! Staff are friendly. Good place !

This is a hang out place for students and youngsters to smoke, not a place for a serious meal.As for the food, you can't do Lebanese food when all your chefs are Indian, so please stick with just the Indian menu.Location is class, but it dont belong in this area with the likes of Strada and so on.

Originally phoned to reserve which they told me they couldn't even though there website claims differently. The guy mumbled down the phone even after many attempts to tell him to speak up as I was having trouble hearing him.Went without a reservation only to be told I had to sit on half a seat where the sisha barely fitted into and awkwardly having to move past others like in a cinema. Service is just not worth commenting on as many have done that already I would just like to say its disgusting and ruins the culture of the customer comes first.They know they will pull in customers as they are a gimic. But they don't deserve a penny of anyones money. I will not be surprised when their lease is up that they aren't allowed to re-new as they give the area a very bad name.

Customer service was bad, gave us wrong order and when we asked for the shisha it had no flavour after a staff member recommended it, ask to change flavours but wouldnt let us, kept pointing us and telling us to speak to another member of staff which then pointed to another member of staff, so overall the customer service was bad, i think you should stay away from here.

I arrived around 7pm with a friend. We were welcomed and seated to our table. We ordered food, drinks, shisha and dessert. It was very good quality and amazingly priced. Don't forget you are in Canary Wharf! It you want cheap, then there is always MacDonald's close by!!! The atmosphere was great with some great 90s RnB being played. Would definitely go again.

There are only 3 good things about this place which is the food, the shisha and the location. So overall the concept is nice. Unfortunately the biggest downfall for this place is the ridiculous amount of money spent to be treated like a piece of crap, their customer service is absolutely BAD! Instead of greeting you with a warm and professional welcome the first thing they say is "NO LESS THAN £10!" as if they think people will only seat there and spend less than £10 with their overly priced menu and they have a little crappy policy written at the front which a lot of people really don't pay any mind to - they should really seat you down and kindly go through the policy with you. The place is nice and cosy but can be cramped they do not ask you politely to move they will rudely move you and tell you to straighten your seat in the middle of everything in my case one guy was stacking chair behind me and was bumping my chair and then rudely moved my chair with me in it and squashed my fingers against another chair!!. Secondly is that an individual who also worked there had the audacity of coming in the middle of our meal to tell you your 2 hour is up so they have to rush you out and make you leave even if you have any late comers and they had just order you have to get up and leave (if it's a busy day) once your 2 hours are up. Thirdly, whoever takes your order does not give you the attention and the service required... waiters will be shouting amongst each other above us in their language and do not excuse themselves before interrupting you whilst you order. Fourthly this whole NO CARD ONLY CASH bull is probably so they can avoid VAT or something.Moving forward, anyone looking to go there be prepared to send over £100 for the worst customer service!!

Me and my friend had heard about this place and how it might be nice to visit on a sunny day. Biggest mistakes of our lives! Firstly they do not accept card payments which was so inconvenient for us! Secondly the waiter asked my friend how old she was because of her height despite her being over 20 which I considered to be very rude seeing as we werent going to do shisha! Our orders arrived with the waiter handing over wrong plates of food. Their customer service was the worst as there were two waiters who kept bringing things one at a time so they brought us drinks and then the food and my friend asked for cutlery which initially had not been brought for her. The waiters passed by quite a few times to serve other customers and we were still waiting on her knife and fork! It was also difficult to call them over as they rarely were looking around to help but just like robots they were coming in and out the kitchen oblivious to the fact that customers may want their help. The food was average considering the overpriced menu with a can of drink costing you £2.50 and having to pay extra for side orders. The website is very misleading and overall it was a regretful experience. I usually do not review a place unless it is excellent or if its worthless like this so you have been warned guys.

I have been coming here for a while now. It's become my hangout spot with my friends. We always have an awesome time. Good atmosphere and some good food as well. Really nice place to chill.

I have been coming to this place a while now and have always received excellent service. The staff is super friendly and the food is of excellent quality and always fresh. Moreover the tables are always clean and shisha smokes really light.

If you want bad food, long waiting times, to be insulted, made to feel unwelcome and want to experience an atmosphere of 'I hate all of our customers', this is the place for you! If you do not, I suggest that you visit one of the neighbouring establishments which are good value and have staff that actually treat you with respect.I am so appalled by the customer service here that I am not even going to mention what I actually went for, namely the food and drink which was, at best, average. If I could have scored this place a zero instead of the obligatory one, I would have done.I used the website to book a reservation at the Canary Wharf branch where it says online: Complete our reservations form to book a table at Temple Lounge. We also welcome walk-in customers.So, I booked a table for 4 online. Imagine then my shock and surprise when I call to confirm my booking (because I could not find the confirmation email) and they tell me. 'We don't accept online bookings which is why we did not send you an email' Me: 'But I do have table booked for tonight, correct?' The response? 'No, you will have to see if we have a table when you get here. We do not take bookings online'Upshot, I told the man on the phone that he should honour the booking and ask a manager to update the website. He then passes me over the telephone to his manager who really could not have given a monkey's. When I said to him 'You just don't care, do you?' He said, 'Bye' and then put down the phone.West India Quay is beautiful and this place only does one thing, lowers the tone. AVOID!

i have visited this place twice, first experience was amazing view of the docklands but the service was a major let down. the staff mostly had no clue what they were doing. the waiter bumped my friends chair 3 times while walking past but not once said sorry! the food took well over an hour to arrive. the guy behind the bar was severely rude as we weren't happy with the service still we decided to leave a tip as we always do to any restaurants but the guy did not even acknowledge it! just walked away with the money! shocking

We went here for a friends leaving do. 18 people arrived, 2 of which were pregnant and 1 with a chest infection, therefore did not smoke anything and left within 15 minutes, and the table was immediately occupied by other customers. There was then a further 3 people who also left another 10 minutes later, did not smoke, eat or drink, simply came to say goodbye and left and their table too was then occupied by other customers. Of the 12 people that sat there for the duration (approx 1hr 20 mins) we spent approx £100 but thought we'd leave a tip and give them £120. The staff members then proceeded to tell us we owed them over £200. Where they got this figure from, I don't know. They then "rounded it down" to £180! They said we had to pay a minimum of £10 per person even though we hadn't consumed £10 worth of produce per person. Basically because we weren't an Asian group of people, they thought they would try and rip us off. We gave £150 as one of the friends I was with didn't want to cause a scene. But that was £50 more than we consumed.They are just after your money and will rip you off given the opportunity. The staff are rude and wait on Asian customers as a priority over non asian customers. Will not go back and would not recommend.

£10 a head £10 a head...that's all i heard before even sitting down!!!!! Nothing more than a money orientated business. NO CUSTOMER SERVICE and like most other poor businesses...NO COMMON SENSE!!! Terrible....shisha is amateurish..my home shisha is much better. How is this establishment allowed to be such a prestige area of the docklands?Let’s not even talk about their food….let me just say this….if you are happy to pay almost £10 for a pitta bread, some chicken pieces, a few of lettuces and one tomatato slice…then this is the place for u!!It's a joke and i certainly would not go back there!!!!!

As beautiful as the location is, temple lounge have not done any justice with their poor service and rude staff. Here are the bad points: - Staff charged us THREE times for one shisha - which had already been paid for.- Food takes over an hour to arrive - no apologies for the delay.- Refused to be seated although the lounge was empty. - Refused to be served tap water- told that they do not have enough glasses for water?? although drinks with glasses where being served. - RUDE - DISGUSTING LANGUAGE AND BEHAVIOUR - Staff member verbally abused us because of our religious ethics. THE WORST SERVICE I HAVE EVER RECEIVED! DO NOT GO! WASTE OF MONEY!

Back at temple lounge again to make our valentines night special. It certainly did it as always. Food, atmosphere and shisha was excellent. Staff very polite and friendly. Smoking area nice and cosy, couldn't believe we're say outdoors in London and its February. :)

I have been coming to Temple Lounge for a few months now and am amazed by the level of friendliness in service! The shisha is nice, the food is amazing, the view over financial districts skyscrapers is breathtaking. Just lucky I live only 15 minutes walk from here :)

This place has got absolutely terrible service. If the owner is reading this, then you need to sort it out! Waited over an hour for our food which was all grilled food. We were so close to walking out. Mango lassi was watered down. Brought us shisha before the food even arrived.The waiters were full retards. We ordered one nan bread. Didn't receive it, we didn't even bother asking where it was as it would probably take 30mins. Then they tried charging us for it. We asked for some can drinks half way through our meal. The retard waiter, forgot to get it, was just standing chatting to his colleague. I had to remind him, the restaurant wasn't even busy so no excuse. Then to make matters worse, the way they told us its closing time was just so rude. Huge disappointment. The only positive thing I would say is the shisha was nice. We ordered blue mist shisha. That was the only enjoyable thing. This place has huge potential to be excellent, nice location, just get your act together!!!!

Decided to visit for some dinner and sheesha, was with a relatively large group all ordering food within a £10.00 set price on top of a £15.00 sheesha. After waiting 50 minutes for our food to finally arrive, they refused to offer complimentary government tap water. We did order drinks but asked for one additional glass of water which we were denied due to not selling free tap water! During the course of the meal we did request for some sauces such as ketchup which they had no mention of any charge when provided. On our departure evaluating the bill we were surprised with a 0.50p charge for the individual sauce that was provided even though there was no mention of this at the point of sale. Overall a very poor customer service experience especially in the attitude of the staff who spoke little English.

After being asked to leave Wagamamas due to a fire alarm today my friend and I wandered around and stumbled on this place. The sea bass was excellent and the atmosphere buzzing with young people (which I am not!) The portion sizes were good at reasonable prices and was served with a smile. The issue of no cash was told to us before we were seated and although I don't smoke myself, the environment outside was not unpleasant. The under and over seat heating made eating outside on a December evening both comfortable and unique. It may not suit everyone but we had a lovely evening and would definitely go back.

Heard some good reviews about this place, but in all fairness based on my experience the shisha here is drier than turkey. By far the worst shisha i've had. Needless to say the service was below par and the atmosphere was that of a funeral. Will not be making a return visit ever even if i was paid to do so.

I visited with my friends twice last week. Although it was busy, we received good service. Im not a sheesha fan but the food was awesome, from starters to main courses all were awesome the real taste of Arab. (Cannot forget the Arabic mixed grill) Topped with mango lassi and moroccan tea, So refreshing. People, please stop complaining about paying for water, you pay for water in top class restaurants which era are these people from? you can't get plate of chips and occupy a table. It happens all round the world. If u dont smoke there are seats provided inside. Highly recommended

Looking at patrons of this restaurant, it is clear that this place caters for the local East London youth, and not anyone more discerning. This must be the first restaurant I have been to that actually has its own bouncers, furthermore, they are not afraid to argue or fight with patrons.Service is as if a bunch of guys woke up in the morning and somehow found themselves running a restaurant. All I saw was a lot of running around, but very little actually being achieved. Asking for some tap water results in a straight refusal, which is a shame.Finally, these guys have decided not to accept credit cards despite putting their restaurant in the home of banking - Canary Wharf. We faced a walk up to the cashpoint to settle the bill.The place would be fine on Commercial Road, but doesn't belong in Canary Wharf.

The service alone would have made me go there again, very good and efficiant and helpful. But not only is the service good. The food was good. Especially the foul mudammas was delicious.we probably ate too much of that loved it! We ended up taking some of the main meal along with us. The main meal was ok, could have been better. The price considering its canary wharf and the location and the service i suppose is fair.

I had a great time with my girlfriends a few nights ago! The food was hot and tasty. The Shish Tawouk (Grilled chicken cubes) with rice is my favourite. We had loads of different drinks, the lemon and mint juice is refreshing and then a great shisha to end the evening. Blue mist and Pink lemonade is a hot with us. we went temple lounge recommended by a family friend.The meals was a set menu & the wide variety of food just kept coming & every course was delicious right to the milk shakes with the mint tea & coffee. The staff were lovely & very welcoming - a sign of a good restaurant is how busy it is & even though this restaurant was full & obviously very popular the service was really attentive & the staff engaging.Ah.... Need to mention this restaurant does not serve alcohol, so if you want some bring your own, they don't charge corkage.

This place is terrible from the moment you arrive. The customer service is appalling, they will not listen, will not accommodate and are extremely rude. Asking for plates led to them stating they didn't have any then we'd have to pay extra so instead they served different scoops of ice cream in small paper cups. If you pay those prices, you expect service and more than a plastic spoon and paper cup. The desserts are horrible and the shisha compared to other places is more expensive and harsh.Definitely a place to avoid
