Wonderful restaurant, the food is out of this world. Lovely service. Have visited a number of times and every time it’s amazing.

Different, delicious food as they offer dishes with unique combinations of flavours. The presentation and the service was superb!!

I almost never write online reviews but our meal yesterday evening was exceptional. We started with raw gurnard in a cup of hash browns with a delicious lightly acidic dressing, and a generous plate of braised asparagus. The perfectly-cooked hogget (neck fillets, we think) came with abundant and imaginative vegetables, too many to describe. Although by then we were better than well fed, we couldn't resist two amazing puds. The service was prompt, charming, and attentive. We have sampled the evolution of the Temple over several years and are delighted that they now have a 2024 Michelin mention.

Probably the best restaurant I’ve ever dined at. My partner and i were in Bude for only one night and we are so happy we stumbled upon temple. While it’s on the Michelin guide book i think it deserves a full star as its better food and service than a number of Michelin star restaurants. I love the concept of highlighting vegetables and having three vegetarian dishes to share among the table. It’s been months since we ate here and i still remember we had harissa tomatoes, courgette with whipped ricotta and leeks with hummus all were amazing. For mains we had lobster and pork with potatoes and salad served for us to share again. The portions were generous and the price was right. All the food was local within a short radius. Everything we ate was delicious. The staff was friendly and created a welcoming ambience. This restaurant is a gem! I would go back to Bude specifically to eat here.

Another rave review. We were looking for a lunch spot that had healthy, real food, and we absolutely loved everything we tried. It was also really nice to get such a friendly, sincere welcome and great service. If I wasn't a grockle I'd eat here all the time. Thank you!

It looks unpretentious but the food is superb. Interesting, unusual, wonderful combination of flavours and textures. One of the best meals I have ever had. And an unexpected find in a small, fairly isolated coastal town out of season.

Great lunch with two small children. Delicious food, especially the pulled pork focaccia special. Great service and friendly staff. Very accommodating to children (they eat free at lunch!). Very close to the beach. Highly recommended during a visit to Bude.

We came here for dinner 3 years ago, the night we got engaged! We came back exactly 3 years later, and had another exceptional meal. Amazing food, such friendly staff and a gorgeous little terrace. Hopefully be back sooner than another 3 years!

Temple A cute little restaurant and bar with a terrace in Bude , Cornwall . The spicy margarita needs a special mention. There was a good selection of wines too . The monk fish was cooked to perfection.. it literally melted in the mouth .. Incredible! Loved everything that came to the table . Service was fab too ! If in Bude, pls do visit Temple .. Thank me later :)

Myself and wife were caught in the rain today with our sixteen week old baby boy. Hungry and a bit disheveled we walked into Temple. Not only were the staff welcoming, but they offered to lift our pram inside from the damp which was incredibly kind. Once warmed up we picked our courses and were not left disappointed. My wife is still talking about the monkfish curry. Also there is apparently a baby group at Temple on Thursday. This place appears to tick all the right boxes.

Pork belly was genuinely interesting and tasty. The scallop was nice. Other dishes were really not up to much. The herby flat bread was cold, a bit tough, and too greesy and rich. Unfortunately, tomatoes won't give a balance if they are unripe and flavourless. The roasted Peppers was just oily cooked Peppers. We were also brought this out late, so we had them on their own. The fritters were not very nice in flavour or texture. We were told two plates and bread would fill us, but they did not, so we went and had pizza after. Their signage is a bit naff too, multiple people came upstairs before realising they needed to go back down, and just as we were arriving a couple was leaving because they assumed it was closed because there is a closed side door that looks like it could be an entrance when approach from the back street.

I can’t rate this place highly enough. We were totally blown away by the food. It’s like the best of ottolenghi at half the price and hardly anyone knowing about it. The side dishes were so unassuming but to die for (I’ll be dreaming of the hazelnut green beans), my hake was delicious and i don’t know where to start with the chocolate mousse. Every wine or cocktail we had was delicious and service perfect. Just wish I lived near Bude! Thank you for such a great evening

Second time here. Good quality food. Bit of an extended wait between small plate starters and main. Smoked pork tenderloin was a great addition, loved the mint. Hake with tamarind was brilliant. Monkfish tails with tomoto and mojo de ajo also top notch.

Went to eat here on our mini honeymoon and it could not have been better. Delicious cocktails and wine with food that was perfect on every way. We will be returning 100%. Thanks to the whole team.

Schönes Restaurant und ausgesprochen gutes Essen. Leider sind die Timeslots eher knapp bemessen. Weswegen wir - als wir den letzten Bissen des Desserts gegessen hatten - sofort gebeten wurden, den Tisch zu verlassen, damit sich die nächste Gruppe setzen kann. Gegen Ende ging es also etwas hektisch zu und wir mussten unser Getränk rasch austrinken. Achtung - wer mit Karte zahlen möchte, muss es hier mit einer Kreditkarte tun. Andere Karten werden nicht akzeptiert.

Fantastic modern fusion cuisine, simple but well made. The set menu is great and it comes with plenty of starters and sides.

Amazing experience! Food was excellent and tweeked to our dietary requirements perfectly. Staff extremely tentative to our needs and very friendly . Tastes were exquisite and a great choice for omnis from a set menu. Vegan choices only one for main and one for desert , fortunately it was something I really enjoyed, but another option would be great . Only one downside was non diners coming in from outside to use the toilet , some were scantily clad on the way to a night out . This felt awkward whilst trying to enjoy the ambiance and lovely surroundings . Highly recommend. You will not be disappointed.

Very good cake. Lunch was tasty but £15 for a single slice of pork belly that came entirely on its own is not good value, one should get some vegetables for that price. Vegetables not on menu which was odd, had to nick some of my wife's salad.

Tastefully designed interior with a sophisticated but relaxed atmosphere. The staff were all lovely and attentive. The food was creative, fresh and made the absolute most of some humble ingredients. My partner had the Hake which was sublime and the yuzu panna cotta was top notch! We liked the set menu concept but thought the mains could offer a little bit more variation, the two vegetarian mains (of which I had the celeriac) sounded quite similar in nature and neither of us eat Pork - perhaps one more option would do it justice! Overall, we loved the setting, the vibe and the food and if we lived closer we would be back for sure.

What am amazing foodie experience! The 3 starters were all excellent. The main course was delicious, the dessert perfect. Small place that does not look like a fancy restaurant but the quality of the food is stunning (and as a French guy, I am not easily satisfied by English food). One small tip to the owner to be even better: grow your wine list a little bit ;-)

An amazing evening out, super food and atmosphere. Holly and Rowan really looked after us, it was so nice to hear how our meals were made. Will definitely be back.

I don’t normally leave reviews but the pork belly on toast was amazing. Temple is now right at the top of my list of place to eat in North Cornwall if you are ever in Bude don’t miss out!

An absolute gem of a place. Food was interesting, fresh and so tasty. Probably the best Oyster I've had. All 5 of our party absolutely loved it. Nice and relaxed atmosphere with great service. We will be back!

Really great tasting experience. Food we wouldn't usually get the opportunity to try. Amazing flavours / pairings. The set menu was great, at £35 for 2 courses. The main of beef spare rib was phenomenal. Service was great too!

The confident simplicity of the dishes allows the ingredients to speak for themselves. For the quality of the food it is no exaggeration to say it is repeatedly one of the best restaurants we have been to.

We visited the Temple 2 years ago and was blown away then with the quality of food and great service. We re-visited at the weekend with high expectations and it did not disappoint, infact it exceeded our expectations. Absolutely incredible food and brilliant service. Thank you!

A lovely different restaurant excellent

Absolutely fantastic food and wine. We’re vegan and they catered for us with the most wonderful menu, full of fresh veg and creativity. The flatbread, radish and sunflower paste, and the kimchi pickled veg were divine.

I went to Temple twice while visiting. They have a vegan and vegetarian friendly menu while also allowing a farm to table meat selection. The menu is smaller but the options are all delicious. The desserts are also the best in the area.

Food was amazing, restaurant itself has a clean and welcoming feel, front of house were the best and really helpful. A gem.

Pricey but great food and service. I recommend the cola too if you're teetotal or driving 😀

Absolute gem of a place. Not at all what I was expecting from a small eatery in Bude, but easily sits in my top restaurants visited. Stunning views, excellent food and the staff were all extremely pleasant. Would definitely recommend.

Beautiful food and service just a shame they wouldn't let us change our reservation to the terrace even though they were spaces for those that hadn't booked.

Wonderful food, nothing like I have experienced anywhere else. Although it was mildly expensive (£28 per person for the starter/main set menu + £9 dessert) the food more than made up for it. Service was nothing special, food brought to table but not much more - it seemed a little unorganised, with every waiter serving every table!? I still can’t get over how tasty the food is, would definitely recommend!

Really tasty, fresh food. So much flavour! Glad we booked here for a meal to enjoy during our short stay in Bude. We have been meaning to eat here each time we have visited for the past few years and would book again.

Absolutely Brilliant!! Wonderful flavours, great fresh ingredients. One of the best meals I've had anywhere. It may not have linen table cloths or sommeliers but this food is up there with L'Enclume, Northcote and Holbeck Ghyl.

Amazing restaurant. Most definitely one of the rare places where you can get absolutely delicious food, amazing service and great atmosphere. Could not recommend more this place if you are around the area. Most definitely returning here. P.s. Sadly didn't take any pictures as we were quite hungry and as soon as we saw that delicious food, we just jumped on it and finished it in no time. However, the food presentation was amazing. Definitely the taste was matching to amazing look of it.

One of the best meals we've eaten in the UK. Two course menu reasonably priced with decent serving sizes. We had the cabbage and porcetta mains, both were delicious, eat here if you're visiting North Cornwall/Devon!

Temple says it is "MODERN. CORNISH. SEASONAL." and we looked forward to going. We were pleasantly surprised by and enjoyed the light airy space, range of dishes and friendly staff who went out of their way to help us and give good service. So... MODERN - yes. CORNISH - hmm, not really, I didn't recognise much in the way of local ingredients on the menu. SEASONAL - a bit, but not really when you consider how much European grown salad and veg there was. I recommend it for day time because the range of freshly made dishes available at a reasonable price. And you can mix and match to create your own bespoke and hearty lunch. Great cakes. Coffee was nice too. I hesitate to recommend it for the evening. Not because it was not good, but because it was far too expensive for what it was. This is Bude, folks - not Piccadilly! Even though they lacked some punch and flavour to make them stand out, we liked the main dishes though we had expected more based on reputation and Tregonning's penchant for herbs `a la Ottolenghi. We had fish, which was fresh, cooked to perfection and lovely presentation. We liked the novel salads and veg dishes. Who knew you could smoke carrots?! But really, £28 per person plus sides, for this, so far away from big expensive cities? Get over yourselves. We'll definitely be back for lunch. This kind of freshness and quality and range will surely be a bit of a wake-up call for other venues in the town.

Booked for a Friday night dinner for two. Loved the set menu as I can never decide what to eat. Well organised and timely food, an enticing range of starters arrived quickly after ordering and gave us plenty to nibble on and chat about. Mains were likewise top quality, I tried panisse for the first time and wasn't disappointed. A properly made margarita went down a treat (you'd not need many of those!) and the staff were helpful and happy to answer our queries about what was in the dishes. A good opportunity to try new flavours, loved the way they use fresh seasonal produce. Thankyou!

Stunning food great atmosphere!

Great food and fantastic service even when one guest had severe allergies

It is 6pm and we have been lurching from one traffic accident to another for 4 hours. SatNav says we will arrive at Temple at 8.15pm earliest, our reservation time. I called to let them know, hoping for delayed start time, maybe 15mins delayed but hopefully 45mins. No 8.15pm or bust! I get the kitchen is busy and a reservation is a reservation but did not expect this. Welcome to Bude I guess.

I think yesterday was our fourth visit,and it is as always a delight.The food is simple fresh delicious. The service good and the wine (Cote du Rhone rose) is sensational.

Really nice place with a tasty, seasonal menu. Staff were super nice and very accommodating. Loved that I would not normally order some of the things on the menu but when they came we absolutely loved it.

Our number one choice in Bude, really delicious food always with extra twists in the ingredients. Great laid back atmosphere and people running the place. If you want really interesting and tasty food with an informal atmosphere this is the place for you. We love it.

Great food. Something different. This is more like a city restaurant. The set menu had enough choice but forced us to try something different. I never usually go for vegetarian but the mushrooms were fantastic and the starters full of flavour. Relaxed vibe with cool tunes.

Excellent food, great service, the only one negative thing about this place is that it’s located about 300 miles from where I live. We’ve just got back from a week in Bude and generally the food everywhere we ate was very good... but this was standout amongst some other delicious meals. Really tasty, fresh and interesting menu... and I really wish it was nearer to me....

The concept at Temple is unusual, most of the menu is set and you choose your main dish. (Plus extras if you want them.) The food was really fresh, well cooked and delicious. Service was good and we really enjoyed ourselves here.
