Ted's Cafe in Great Yarmouth

What a gem! Super clean cafe, we both had the breakfast, very reasonable price at £6, not the biggest in size but enough to fill you up especially with unlimited toast (brown & white) plus a pot of tea. A good variety of menu choices and specials. Friendly service & free WiFi if that’s what you need! Give it a visit.

Probably the worst breakfast I’ve ever eaten , make your own tea and coffee and toast , you had to wring the mushrooms out and all tasted the same , although lovely clean toilets for when it goes straight through you.

Was sadly disappointed by our visit 😔 Staff not overly friendly. Bacon slimey and tomato sauce is cheap and tastes awful. Couldnt eat my sandwich. Husbands breakfast wasnt much better. Cheap sausage etc. Toast is self serve and a stupid feed through machine, not a proper toaster. Coffee tastes like soapy dishwater and out a self serve machine. Corners are being cut and it shows. Would happily pay more for better quality produce and service. Not expecting 5 star but better than we received. Please take this as constructive criticism as it is intended. It could be better guys.

Ordered a large breakfast for my self and cheesy beans on toast for my partner . Simple yes ? No. Breakfast came with one sausage cut in half and my partner's beans were cold . When I asked for a replacement the chef was very rude and arrogant . When I asked for another sausage, again rudeness . I got so frustrated I asked for a full refund . I was told no cause I've eaten some . I hadn't I was waiting for my replacement . Left with a refund and will never return .

Was in Great Yarmouth on a solo trip last week and read the good reviews for teds cafe. Not disappointed - the breakfast was small in portion but lovely, hot food and hot plate. Breakfast was under £5 with unlimited toast (bonus). Staff were lovely and one of the cleanest toilets I’ve ever seen. Staff are lovely: only negative was the ladies eating whilst they cooked. Maybe not best practice. I would go again as the quality of the food was great - proper Cumberland sausage no basic stuff.

Super little cafe. Ate here every morning on my holiday. Delicious breakfast, friendly service and spotlessly clean. I'm home now and missing this place. Sooo good!!

Best fry up around for what i class as a greasyspoon (only in the nicest possible way do i use that term), quality ingredients used. Staff always friendly and very clean premises.

Me and my partner went to Ted's cafe on a Saturday lunchtime. Very clean and food very tasty. I saw on the specials board the cheese and potato pie which the lady behind the counter recommended it came with 2 lovely butchers sausages and beans. I thoroughly enjoyed it. My girlfriend had the small breakfast which she enjoyed. We will definitely come again. Many thanks

I always come here when im in the area and love Ted's cafe! Its oldish style warms my heart and im in my 30s :)! The staff are very friendly and welcoming and never seen any members of staff be rude to customers (prior to the comments below) quite frankly the opposite! The breakfast was lovely and came very quickly. Ill be back again soon Ted's cafe xx

On arrival greeted by a women behind the counter who was rude and abrupt. Looked and spoke like a prison officer or 1950’s school mam. Don’t order a large milk as you will get a small milk… when I questioned it and said I’m glad I didn’t ask for a small… she stated she only has one size glass. Maybe that was worth stating when I ordered. She passed a comment to her opo on the cooker, good job I ordered extra then !! What for this tiddley little glass of milk. Really !! Food quality was ok. Premises was Clean. But the quantity was little to the point I could have counted the baked beans ! Through out our visit I felt like it was for her own staff from the attached warehouse and we were just in the way. First and last visit to this place, and looking back on the feedback I would guess they are under new ownership or management as it appears to have gone down the pan. Will not be returning no chance for a second chance on this one as the staff will not be able to change there attitude.

have used this cafe for many years. Unfortunately my visit yesterday is likely to be my last due to an aggressive, new staff member. He needs some serious customer relations training. I went to another cafe where I received a warm welcome and was treated as a valued customer.

Whilst on holiday here, we drove around looking for a nice spot for breakfast landing on this cafe. We went in, staff were very friendly we ordered a normal breakfast and a large breakfast(enough to share with our son) the lady then kindly asked if we wanted some toast for our son! Which I thought this was very nice! Breakfast was delicious, hash browns were yummy! Decent size and very good prices. Clean seating areas! We returned a second time as we enjoyed it that much, however it wasn’t the same friendly staff, it was two other members of staff, the younger lady was friendly however the other lady was very miserable and quite rude if I am honest, my partner even mentioned that he thought she was rude! Based on first visit would definitely recommend!! Lovely little cafe, hopefully if we go again, we get the lovely friendly staff.

We had breakfast here, very good value for money. Good quality food, well cooked and great service. The young lady chef was very polite and helpful. We will be adding Ted's to our list of favorites. It's a little out of the way by the river and in the industrial bit but we'll worth looking for.

Fab service, good quality. Cooked perfectly and delivered with charm and speed. Cannot fault it. Eggs cooked so well!

Visited Ted's cafe for dinner. Had the beef and onion pie with veg and potatoes and lovely gravy. Was really good and the service was excellent. Been a long time since my last visit but will definitely be back.

5 star hygiene and 5 star service. The all day breakfast is great, the staff are very friendly. I like the unlimited toast for breakfasts and that it’s not limited to brown or white. The young girl serving was especially good with the customers.

Stopped here after a long trip from Leeds, as always the service was excellent and staff very polite, my folks opted for a small breakfast which was a decent size even for small serving, I had a Bacon, Egg, Sausage and Mushroom baguette which was so full I couldn’t fold it, that didn’t matter because the contents were perfect, I am now full and it’s getting washed down with a nice cup of strong tea. I recommend a breakfast here just for the toast, which you can have as much as you like:)

My colleague and I used this cafe several times over the duration of our stay in Yarmouth.The food there was fantastic.Great tasting and really good value.The lady who served us on several occasions was really friendly and served us very quickly.I can’t recommend this place highly enough.Five stars from me!!!

Excellent food, excellent service, excellent cleanliness, excellent prices. G,s, worsdall good coffee, good tea, excellent cakes, excellent roasts, excellent grills excellent fries. Unlimited toast and spread with breakfast, you make your own toast, good fresh bread, everything well cooked.

Came here looking for a tasty lunch Disappointed asked for piping hot beans (fussy eater) didnt get. Bread was stale salad came seperately then there was insect on cheese Wasted £15

Came here to meet my friend who comes a lot and said you get a proper breakfast ! The lady who served us was so good and to be honest some of the best service I have ever had ! She was so friendly and great with my young son bringing him his own bit of toast and sausage ! The breakfast was a proper no frills breakfast and just want you need on a cold windy day in Yarmouth! The place was busy and all the staff were friendly I will be back !! Thanks for a proper English breakfast and coffee !

We found this Cafe a visit last year.So naturally returned this year same Lovley lady behind the counter same great friendly service great cuppa good breakfast and unlimited toast great for a hearty breakfast to fill you up for busy day ahead as it's a workers cafe the prices are very cheap. No doubt next year we will return. Also connected to the cafe is a wholesalers so you can shop after its open to everyone no membership needed. Well worth a visit

Best place I’ve ever eaten in great Yarmouth was yesterday 10th March 2018 We had a wonderful lunch all three of us Roast gammon all veg loads of gravy plenty of meat over and above you get anywhere else or for £4-99p postcode NR303DW opposite Corner BP Petrol station Southgate Road well worth a visit and the breakfasts are really large obviously small one is basic KENN25 And Debbie Who serve there Well polite to serve always goes extra mile to help in any way with your service

Visited this cafe again as we do most times we visit Great Yarmouth and was once again very pleased with the quality of food and service. Recommend all friends visiting and will always return.

We went in here for a breakfast on our way to our hotel, food is reasonably cheap and well cooked, we would not hesitate to visit here again.

Spotted this place down a back street. It's not posh but neither are the prices. If u and family get sick of being served the trash on marine parade and want some good honest food try this. Home cooked corniche pasty was excellent as was the chicken ham pie. Worth a try

Had breakfast here with my friend and we weren't very impressed.But there are a lot more meals on the menu so maybe will give it another go sometime.

Well worth seeking out , A full on Full english , Large portions unlimited toast with a brek . Exceptionally Friendly staff and a cash and carry on the premises open to all and definitely worth checking out . My first visit and i came out with 2 Kilos of bacon ! Highly recommend.

Cafe precioso, el servicio siempre con una sonrisa. Las carnes son todas de los carniceros al lado de la cafetería, por lo que son de buena calidad y se puede también adquirir si disfrutamos de ellos. Puedes tener interminables cantidades de tostadas y realmente disfrutamos de la buena parada de pan de calidad. puerta Los precios son muy razonables. A mí y a mi familia de aquí cada vez que vayamos a Yarmouth. Vale la pena visitarlo.

Para un pequeño café la relación calidad-precio es inmejorable. La comida es de buena calidad y el servicio es muy amable y cálido. Sin duda volveremos muy pronto!

Had a breakfast today might be cheap but just looking at it was bad enough working in a cafe myself if I would of served people that food I wouldn't blame them if they threw it back at me!!

I was working down at the harbour, and visited here for a quick meal, wow what excellent value & quality of the food was.Fully recommend it

First visit to this cafe based next to the River Yare in industrial area. It was awesome,filling and very tasty. Great service and great value for money,but the best thing in my opinion was unlimited toast that you make yourself . Would highly recommend this cafe to anyone who wants a filling start to the day.

Yes has all the standard "working men's cafe" type stuff you'd expect - all day breakfasts, ham egg and chips, etc. But what really sets it apart food-wise are the daily specials. There's a butcher on-site and I think to a degree they use whatever he's got lots of. So you never know if today's going to be roast pork, steak and mushroom pie (containing a ridiculous amount of meat), quiche. I've even had venison and game pie there. For £4.50. And they're not shy on the servings either. No trick photography, that roast pork and stuffing baguette is a foot long.Non-food wise it's just been refurbished with booths and fancy lights and is a very nice place to be and all the staff are lovely. All the cooking is done by Angie on the premises, no microwave nonsense. The kind of quality and servings you'd be happy to pay double for. But don't tell her that. :) Not on commission, just a satisfied regular!

The food is always good , the staff friendly, and the place clean and cheap, usually a few workers in, but have been in when families and holidaymakers have found it , and they always seem to come back wich says a lot, would recomend

First time myself and family come here we thought why not give this a try after trying a few places as the price looks good.So we did and have been going back ever since. We go their twice a month sometimes more ☺☺ but always happy with the service...cant complain.For £2.99 you get a small breakfast which i think is a good portion as you get a sausage, egg, bacon, beans and a hash brown. For £4.99 i believe you get double the amount from the small breakfast plus mushrooms and tomatos with the luxury of unlimited toast too!! which you make yourself.

this is the only cafe in the southend of town not too far from the pleasure beachif you like garemms you will really enjoy the brekfaststghe food was all cooked fresh to order everything hotthey have a cool toasting machine and butter portions as wellcheck it out really good staffif you see ivys cafe which is shut keep heading towards the pleasure beach directionthey do a lot of baguettes as well so good take away foodthe bacon was really good

We travelled from manchester to do some work round the corner at the trampoline park and decided to try teds cafe. The staff were friendly and the place was clean.I picked up a menu from the table £2.99 for a full english with free toast. I asked if they had left a menu out from the 1980's by mistake. The lady behind the counter laughed and said no its a real menu and cheap due to it being part of the wholesalers.The breakfast was great with real butchers sausage. I ate there for lunch a few times and had excellent home cooked quiche wich about 5" thick! Great staff, great homecooked, food super cheap and on our way home they even made us some sandwiches to take for the journey. If you are ever in yarmouth look them up.Highly recommended

Teds offers good value food, using quality product at a sensible price.You even get unlimited bread or toast with your breakfast.A choice of instant coffee or coffee bean is probably unique in this type of cafe.If you like what you eat you can purchase the meats and some veg from the attached butchers shop.

Have had a couple of Full Englishes here and have just had lunch. Great value for money and clearly only fresh produce is used. I will definitely be coming back regularly!

We had a superb breakfast, 2.99 for a regular, or 4.99 for a large, with unlimited toast and free newspapers to read. The place is very clean and welcoming. Well worth a visit.

Great Cafe real Greasy Spoon without the Grease very very clean the food is hot and cooked to order Value for money unlimited toast even with the Small Breakfast and at £2.99 that cant be bad you can park out side the staff are friendly there is a W C in the shop next door up a few steps and you can bulk buy from the supplier as well bonus on the down side it gets busy so you cant always get a table

Great breakfast ! Small only £2.99 with unlimited toast. Good for parking and nice quality sausages and bacon from teds butchers next door ( good prices in store £5.99 for a big pack of quality bacon) go next door for a browse too they do a sack of potatoes for £3.50!Lovely local business

Me and my husband were on holiday and was looking around when we came across teds cafe, first impressions was very clean with friendly staff, food we had was ham salad with chips and was perfect in taste and quality went back next day and had something different still excellent would recommend every time. they had also there supplier next door and was open to public where we purchased some great knives.g

Popped in for first time, Just Yesterday & had the All Day Breakfast & unlimited Toast Wow! That's Value & the Breakfast was Lovely as were the Friendly Service & Surroundings too! Will Definitely be Back for More, As the Specials what were on Offer that day looked So Tasty too, & a Added Bonus are they are All Hone Cooked too! Have been here a few times and cannot fault it........service and food is very good. Cakes and pastries are home cooked and very tasty, as is the soup. Most of the time it's busy with office workers etc......but I have never had to wait for a seat as people come and go very quickly.......if not take away is always an option,

Went for an English breakfast and got exactly that! Ted's is a typical working blokes cafe, serving a decent fry up...its attached to a butchers, so bacon & sausage is good! Unlimited toast and a decent cuppa too!

Just a basic cafe cheap and cheerful. Nice ladies who run it and great home made food and cakes. Free toast with breakfasts just help yourself.Plenty of parking.Always full of police having breakfast they obviously like a bargain lol.I always use this cafe now and my parents come all the way from hemsby to eat here.

It's rough, it's ramshackle, it's like stepping back into the 70's.The ladies who run this place have enough joy and sunshine to brighten up the most miserable winter's day in Yarmouth.Specials every day - homemade pies (apparently there's a butcher in the family, and you notice it - the sausage meat pie is a real treat) - and a wide variety of sandwiches and traditional cafe fare. I've no idea how they make a profit as the prices seem to be stuck in the 70's too.You'll mix with all sorts here - Russians from the docks, local families out for lunch, pensioners looking for a chat. I could sit here for hours....
