I had seen fabulous photos of great looking food posted on Facebook so I thought I’d give it a go! Called in Friday night for the 2 course for £18 offer. Waited 30 mins for starters Brie ok Soup cold and wheaten was frozen Mains - deep fried beef strips - looked like dog poo and didn’t receive prawn crackers Mexican fajitas - didn’t sizzle Arrived in one large tortilla looking sausage roll - top over heated in grill Bottom soggy and no tortilla crisps 😭 Wine good Orange cordial watered down big time Passed on dessert Won’t be back

Warm welcome. Menu is great and we’re do I start on portion size? Massive!! Was a great night and staff are so friendly. Can’t wait to return. So want to try the teddy bears picnic. It’s just huge and looked amazing.

Went here as had been tempted by their Instagram posts have to say we were not disappointed, the food was delicious and the service was great, not to mention the georgous cocktails would highly recommend great value for money and we will definitely be back

Myself and seven friends had lunch in Teddy's on 28th July and thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon. We were greeted by a lovely girl and showed to our seats and were provided with menus, she also advised us of specials on the day. The menu was varied and what we liked is they now do smaller plate meals which was ideal for us all as we aren't big eaters so no food waste. All our meals were well presented and tasted lovely. I was unsure about one of the dishes so they brought me a small taster of it which I thought was very kind. The bar and restaurant staff were very friendly and very attentive and we all had a great time and will return again. We would all recommend Teddy's.

This visit was for a birthday party held upstairs, I assume in a function room. Barman appeared less than experienced and within minutes of arriving the lager barrel was empty! So off he had to go and find someone to put another barrel on. Person in front of me was rather shocked to discover the cost for a bottle of coke and a bottle of Becks came to £9.40 and I was just as shocked to discover my order for a glass of wine and half a pint of Guinness was also £9.40! Is it any wonder so many pubs are closing with prices like that?!?!? The room itself was fine and a very nice buffet was put on but I shudder to think at what cost. Wouldn't return as I am not prepared to pay such high prices.

Been to Teddys many many times over the years, family, friends and work get-togethers, large and small, and always more than happy with our experience. What on earth has happened since the last time we were there?! 😞 The food was the smallest portion size ever. Granted its been a while, but I was eager to get back for the salted chilli beef, the last I had it there it was absolutely delicious. This time it didn't taste of salt or chilli.. or anything at all. Totally bland. The curry sauce was like water, no taste. And I'm convinced, totally convinced, that the rice was Uncle Ben's boil in the bag.. you could tell where it was still clumpy. Chips (all 5 of them) were undercooked, definitely not triple cooked tastiness. It was edible and fine, we were hungry and ate it, but utterly disappointed. In fairness the staff were lovely as always, and I didn't have the heart to say about the food, almost did but don't like to be that person. But the more I've thought about it since we left, it really was subpar, we were all a bit gutted and left still hungry! Sadly I won't be back anytime soon. I had also arranged a work meal and was going to book Teddys but unfortunately I won't be making that booking now. Sorry Teddy's, I appreciate it was a bad one-off experience but has put us off for a while...

We have visited Teddys several times. Quality of the food is good, its pub grub and never had any issues. On this occasion we went as a family. For the kids ordered two children's meals of the children's menu. This is advertised at the bottom in a massive font at £6.95. On receiving the bill we were charge £8.95 for each kids meal. When queried they pointed to the smallest £2 text on the page beside the desert, to me this seemed underhand, and they charged £2.50 for a "dash" of cordial as unknowingly we asked for kids juice to come in a jug. Not great sums of money I know, the manager really didn't want to know and seemed to take joy in pointing to the small £2 text, he conceded stroppily on the "dash" of cordial while spinning on his heal to turn his back and walk off. Waitress was apologetic, they way the query was handled left a very bad taste, disappointing overall, so we won’t be returning.

Really enjoyed a roast beef dinner at Teddy's this afternoon. In fact it's the best I've ever had out! Will be back and the staff were all lovely too. Very cosy and pleasant atmosphere and value for money. 10/10

Had contacted this place by email during the last week of Nov 2022 to have a table reserved for 3 people for a birthday dinner. Email returned from staff stating everything was booked for my date and time requested. Turned up to the place on the day to find the restaurant was locked up and secured. Upon going into the bar area, staff kindly informed us that the restaurant is in fact closed and has not been serving food on a Monday for quite some time. This was my first time to this place as it came recommended.....safe to say it will be my last! My details were left at the time for a member of staff to contact me to discuss their error, considering this happened over 3 weeks ago and I'm still waiting on an email or a phone call to offer an apology for the inconvenience. Most definitely will not be back here and I wouldn't recommend either.

Went with another couple for a evening meal. The choice of food was very good well cooked and well served great value for money and the Chef was able to cater for special diets very enjoyable visit staff excellent will return.

So, a group of 9 of us headed down for a meal on Sunday 19th November and were delighted at the menu, which is ample and can satisfy any palate known to man. I personally went for the Chicken Stack, no starter, as I was told the main meal is large enough to to kill a horse and truth be told, that's one lucky horse. I thoroughly recommend the Christmas Dinner menu which was also cooked to perfection. Well, when the meals approached the table, there wasn't a jaw that didn't need picked off the floor. EXTREMELY generous portions arrived, and delicious home cooked chunky fries for those of us who can't bear the frozen chips served in some tacky restaurants. We want to thank the most wonderful young waiter, KEL, who had only started working in Teddys a matter of days before. You're an asset to a friendly, welcoming business. We shall all most certainly return. The food was excellent and the staff faultless. We tried the cocktails on arrival and they filled the glasses to the brim. No half measures and packed full of flavour. Do try the £10 lunchtime specials. I will most certainly be doing just that within days. Wonderful evening full of fun and fabulous food. We love coming here for a wee night out. The food and atmosphere are great. The service we receive any time we are here is exceptional. Sophie and Margaret are assets to this place.

Had the best dinner last night, 2 courses for £15. We had Brie and prawn cocktail for starters followed by chicken stack with champ, vegetables, tobacco onions, pepper sauce and beef Stroganoff sandwich with salad and chunky chips with Stroganoff sauce. We had a Pina colada with strawberry and mango daiquiri two cocktails for £10. Menu had such great choices and portion sizes were big. Service was brilliant, guys really friendly and helpful, will definitely be back, a real gem.

Well worth a visit! Great food in a brightly lighted restaurant day and night. An authentic ‘pub atmosphere in the bar adjacent playing music to suit all ages and genres a 3 minute walk from the town centre/ High Street. As this cosy establishment faces south and with ample seating arrangements outside means you can also too- up on that tan (weather permitting!). Open area also covered by a full awning and wall heaters should the climate vary serviced by warm and efficient staff. This is a proper e licensed premised which cater for all ages in comfort! Do try!

I visited Teddy’s restaurant tonight with my partner and we had a lovely evening. Amazing food (we had scampi & pan fried hake) and it was fantastic. Food is homemade and really tasty. Also the chips are a must!!! Definitely 100% recommended!

Went to teddys for the 1st time on easter sunday we were in a party of 14.We were seated upstairs and it was very busy, after ordering our food we were served in good time and everyones food was absolutely delicious and piping hot, i myself had the nicest roast beef dinner ive ever had and will definetly be back again, teddys is now our new favourite restaraunt.

I was part of a group attending a friends 60th Birthday party on Saturday night. The mains had been pre ordered and we just had to pick starters on the night. I picked the Bacon Risotto for starter and Braised Beef. Let me tell you, both dishes were were beautiful BUT Luke warm to cold. The plates were cold too so coupled with Luke warm food made for a very poor meal. When a member of our party complained the staff were not interested and didn't take any steps to rectify the situation. Also the same staff never cleared any of the empty glasses from out table and we were struggling to find room for everything. It's a real shame as it spoilt the evening of our friend even though she put a brave face on. I feel the owner of Teddy's needs to take a long hard look at the negative comments on this page and see how he can turn his restaurant round before it features on one of Gordon Ramsays shows !!!!!

Horrendous experience. Ordered 2 soft drinks and were prompted to make them large, any wonder when they charge £5 for a large soft drink! They were flat as anything when they came and so had to have them replaced and pour them ourselves.

Staff disinterested and inefficient, poor service despite prior ordering of food. Cold plates, lukewarm food, side orders arrived when meal was almost finished. Empty glasses not collected from table until the end of the evening. Unable to order a round of drinks at the table at 1045pm and were told if we wanted to have a drink it would have to be in the bar! My first visit to this establishment in a number of years and probably my last. Management and staff for the restaurant are in dire need of training in customer care and need to show some interest in what they do Customer care is vitally important to the successful operation of an establishment such as this. Teddy's are failing miserably!!

Lovely lunch recently! Had the fish sharing platter . Excellent chowder, lovely scampi and coated fish, beautiful fried hake, delicious pea puree and fresh salad. This lovely and welcoming little restaurant is well worth a visit.

Absolutely spectacular food... I had the brisket and it was wonderful... and the staff are awesome. Nothing is too much trouble for them.

My husband and I had a lovely meal here last night for our date night. Nice relaxed atmosphere and service was good. Went for one of the cocktail towers. We both opted for the 2 course meal for £14.95. Lovely food, would recommend and would definitely come back.

If you book a table for early evening please note you will have to leave it for the next sitting. I found that once we had been served the staff lost interest in us. I piled all the empty glasses infront of me but no-one came to clear them. I think it was a hint that we had finished & time to move on. Meal was great though.

Came into restaurant with girlfriend this evening at 7pm. We were directed to our table by the instruction: 'yours is the wee round one round the corner.' We found our seats hidden away and sat for 10 minutes without even a menu or asked what drinks like every other restaurant I've been to (including li lis Chinese which I'm in right now waiting on my ordered food arriving). Me and the girlfriend decided it was time to leave when the people who arrived after us were handed a menu and asked what drinks they wanted effectively immediately.

Ate here recently with a friend. Food was excellent - my risotto beautiful. Pleasant efficient waitresses. Would definitely go back.

Food here is beautiful, very clean I would advise if ur wanting something different to phone up and book the teddy’s picnic for two, it’s fun and filling and comes out on a cute wooden picnic table, fun for any tourists to do

Had a lovely dinner in Teddys, service was great and friendly staff. Portion sizes were good and all the food was lovely. Very reasonable prices. Would definitely recommmend for a nice family meal.

Nice atmosphere, and nicely set out. The firecracker chicken was so nice, and the service was super quick, really family friendly and the waiter was fabulous with my 3 year old son.

Looks a lovely place on the outside. Went to go here today, until we seen the food standards score on full display 1 star 🌟 theres mucky old sticky kebab take aways with a higher score than this. Needless to say we went elsewhere.

We decided to try Teddys after hearing great reviews when I looked it up on fb and seen a picture of the Sunday roast beef, we booked a table and when we arrived the service was brill, we ordered a starter of the chicken strips, they were amazing I can't wait to go back for them... We both went for roast beef it was lovely and there was lots of meat, the meat was very tender, I would def recommend teddys for dinner, we ordered sticky toffee pudding it was lovely.

Can’t believe a whipped 99 can be this good - super creamy and not overly sweet. A stop at Teddys was recommended by a Dubliner on our flight over, and we’re glad we took her advice. Any whipped 99 is a must-enjoy treat when visiting Ireland, but Teddys is a cut above.

Booked this place for a Sunday meal...the staff were very unhelpful, were just not interested in serving. Didn't make us feel welcome at all. The food was lovely even though we were overcharged!! Didn't leave a tip because of the poor service... wouldn't go back

I am always happy with the food, friendly customer service and value for money when I visit Teddys. The menu also has something for everyone.

I would only recommend people not to visit this restaurant! The service I received of the manager on shift was appalling absolutely awful, we went down having pre ordered the picnic to receive nothing that we thought we were getting and after being told by the waitress (who I may add was lovely) that the manager was going to come and speak to us which he didn’t we began eating our food to then find not one but Two hairs in our meal once again the waitress Carla was brilliant and apologised to take the food to her manager once again he did not approach us or apologise when my sister went up to pay the bill he said I’ll discount ur kids meals and give you 20%of the picnic due to the Two issues you had however the 20% was an online offer offered to all customers! Our meal was completely ruined and the service was shocking I would never advise anyone to visit!

Popped in on Easter Sunday not expecting to be able to get a seat due to not booking. Luckily they had one free. My friend and I had a lovely experience. Food was beautiful and chefs were very acomidating to me despite being the annoying fussy one I'm sure everyone hates (hehe). The atmosphere was great. And all the staff were very helpful and friendly. All in all after a beautiful meal I will defiantly be back for more.

Where do I begin, five of us went in for what we’d hoped would be a nice lunch, waited to be seated, eventually when we were greeted we asked if we could sit upstairs to be told no as they were short staffed. Ordered drinks and starters, while waiting we noticed the ambience matched the freezing cold “restaurant” and being a cold day you’d think they’d take customers comfort into consideration, but no they keep the heating off and set candles in the open fire they had instead of lighting it.

With a third of Tripadvisors giving this place ratings of average and below, that should have been a clear sign not to go. It started when we went through the door into the downstairs bar; a member of staff rather brusquely told us to go upstairs to the restaurant! There we were shown to our table by a pleasant young woman and menus provided. I ordered drinks and they came eventually and this was the standard for the meal. I ordered a cheese burger. It was vile. Almost impossible to cut and certainly chewy. I left more than half of it. Why not complain? Why should I have to complain? If they can’t get it right the first time, what are the chances of doing any better. The other meals were, I think, marginally better but the unanimous opinion was “never again”. Added to all this, as the evening continued the place got incredibly noisy to the point where conversation became almost impossible. Avoid

My family took me for a mother's day meal. Some nice touches with a mother's day card from Teddys, and a free glass of bubbly for mums The food was delicious and great value for money! Fantastic atmosphere too. The only downfall was the extremely slow service. Our table was booked for 2.30 and we were told they would need it back for 5pm. We assumed this would be no problem. However, due to the waiting time for each course,it was after 5 by the time we finished. Our male server couldn't muster a smile, but our female server was brilliant! Do not go if you are an impatient person! The food they serve is yummy though!

Had Mother’s Day Sunday lunch for with woman of the family today . Food was gorgeous, the best roast beef was beautiful So tender and moist . 2/3 course menu on for the day with lots to choose from at an affordable price. All 5 of us loved r meals . Service was great too very attentive and nothing was too much for the staff . Will defiantly be back and highly recommend.

I don't even know where to begin with place, it doesn't deserve to be called a restaurant, came in asking to be seated upstairs and was told by the staff the member we can't sit upstairs because they where the only one on, then asked is the teddys picnic available, no you have to pre book it(doesn't state that anywhere on the menu Teddys). So thought okay we'll go in anyway and get something else, ordered, eventually got our starters, I personally had then battered mushroom starter, tasteless! After we waited and waited for our plates to be cleared, we weren't offered any top of for our refreshments, long wait and finally our mains arrived, I ordered the beef pie with triple cooked chips, I have no idea how these so called chefs blagged they're way into the industry of this industry it's a disgrace, tasteless pie and dry chips, no gravy, veg, anything, just dry chips and dry pie and my family's feelings about the food weren't much different, our dishes then sat on the table for a good ten minutes as the waitress disappeared, we then had to cancel our dessert as it took so long, got the bill and got the hell out of there, and can I also add we had to ask for the heating to be put on as we were all froze, so guys if you like bland, tasteless, dry, over priced food and had loads of time to waste in a cold "restaurant" then this is your place! Good luck to your future teddys, disgusting 3 star joint.

Was up in Bangor for Christmas.Have been many times before but had never been to Teddy’s before.we loved it,staff & locals were great and food was lovely.also great value,worth a visit.

I recently dined here on a Monday night for the teddys Xmas picnic which I booked online for £11.50pp it included sandwiches sausages mushrooms and 3 mini desserts in cups! Xmas pudding chocolate orange brownie and sticky toffee pudding! It was a great twist on afternoon tea!

If over-seasoned, over-priced food and ridiculously slow service in a not particularly busy restaurant is your thing then this is the place for you! If not then don't bother ...

Four of us booked for a Sunday at 6pm. Greeted warmly and shown our table promptly on arrival. We were given a corner table which unfortunately meant that two of us were stuck against a radiator which wasn't ideal but it was quite busy so didn't mention it. Two of us went for the roast beef, one for the turkey and ham and the fourth for the firecracker chicken. The beef and the turkey came with all the usual trimmings and we all agreed that both were succulent, full of flavour and that we were satisfied without feeling stuffed. The firecracker chicken went down a treat with the only male at the table who polished off the lot with only one word to say: "cracker"!. The bill for the four meals, drinks, a bottle of wine and three specialty coffees was £112. Excellent. I'm so glad we took a chance and will certainly return.

We went to Teddys on a Saturday night and were seated at a good table. Ordered our meal which was served promptly by waiter. The food was good quality and good portions. Wine proved to be good and not overpriced. Waiting staff were very attentive if a bit casually dressed. All in all a nice evening.

My wife and I have eaten here regulary and have never had a bad meal. Ate here, again today, so don't let the scaffolding put you off if you call in the next week or so. They serve generous portions at a reasonable price, and a truly great consistent standard of really tasty food ( The Old Inn, Crawfordsburn, could learn a lesson or two from here ). All of the staff are very pleasant. The only gripe I have is walking in when the restaurant is two thirds or more empty, with us not having booked, and being told they have no tables available, or they go off to check which table/s you can have. This situation has greatly improved and was partly down to younger staff members over-adherance to booking times, and not allowing flexiblity. If you get Gareth, or his Dad Eddie ( both gent's! ), there's no issue! This is a lovely restaurant, and we have no problem recommending it. They have some fabulous prints and photos scattered around the room for sale, and you can hire their function room for a £100. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed! Today we had Chicken strips ( massive ), Sunday Chicken roast ( a full chicken breast with Yorkshire Pud, Roast potato and veg ), and duck with noodles! Yum. Yum. Yum. We haven't tried the Teddy Bear's picnic yet ( an inspired name ), but it's going to happen!

Well a pleasant surprise, for a start they sell Stella, so that's a start, I may have forgotten that, they have a good selection of gins, we as usual hadn't booked, so had no great expectations. The staff were pleasant and welcoming and quickly accommodated us, we ordered drinks which promptly arrived on a fairly busy night, Christmas lights getting switched on and all that. My wife ordered the Chichen and chorizo with gnocchi, I had peppered beef pot, both dishes arrived before I had finished 3/4 of my first drink, therefore in a reasonable time frame. Both dishes were well presented, on hot plates and tasty, at first I wondered if there was enough to pepper in the beef pot, as again, my back ground being Scottish, we use pepper as more of a spice than just a seasoning, but after two mouthfuls, the kick of the pepper was a pleasant and unexpected surprise, as I aid we hadn't been there for a while, but I will be making a hasty return.

We had a lovely meal here with their cinema and meal deal. This was great value at only £1195 each (plus drinks) including the cinema ticket.

Fantastic service at Teddy’s today. Food was really nice, freshly prepared chicken strips. Had the place to ourselves as we were out for early lunch and the lovely gentleman made us feel relaxed and like nothing was a bother! Really good value for money! Will be back!

The wife took me to teddy's for dinner for my birthday having never been I did know what they expect. As you go up a guy staircase up into the main restaurant your graded at the bar and shown to a table didn't take long for the drinks to come the food tool a wee bit longer as it was busy but the food was it was worth the wait totally!! wasn't very dear as we got the dinner and movie meal deal and the pulled pork burger is without a doubt the best in Bangor.wife was a bit underwhelmed by her burger .but couldn't fault it at all .staff were all lovely and helpful .You should try it

Myself my wife and our grandson called into Teddy's at 1800hrs on a Wed eve, we didn't book, sat down to dinner. The server (Carly) was friendly and attentive, we had the £12.95 specials. I had the starter of sticky ribs, beautiful!! Main of Burger with thick chips and I "large sized" for £3 extra Wow! Partner had Lasagne and chips and a dessert of cheesecake. Grandson had chicken gougons and chips and a dessert of ice cream with chocolate. Look at the pics of my dinner well recommended. Including drinks bill came to £43. We will return again soon.

It was our daughters birthday which was explained when booked. Had to wait a ridiculously long time to get our food. Food wasn't worth it. Chips were cold and were not eaten. We weren't offered the desert on the kids menu . Service was poor. Music was far too loud. Birthday meal ruined. Would not recommend it to anyone.

Came here for a work lunch and although food was very nice and also the beer, it just felt like we were not really wanted there as service seemed abit off. Recommend the fish and chips and sticky toffee pudding

I've been waiting for the chance to go to Teddy's for months and was excited to finally go with my family. When we arrived, we awkwardly waited while a female staff member shouted "Can someone get the door?" into the back over and over, without acknowledging us in any other way. It took a second to realise we were "the door". Eventually we were seated and we ordered drinks. When my orange juice arrived, it was dirty and the label was torn, as if it had been shoved in a dusty corner somewhere. At this point, I wasn't feeling optimistic about the rest of the night. Thankfully, despite the staff's lack of knowledge and confusion about the menu specials (which can be forgiven as one waiter admitted he was a new start, and the menu had recently been redone), the service did become more friendly and attentive as the evening went on. The actual food was lovely with great portions. There are definitely better places to eat in Bangor, but it was enjoyable enough overall.
