Tea Rooms in Flintshire

My mum comes here a lot and has made good comments so we decided to come when we were in the area. The cemetery is lovely, and the cafe nice and bright. Nice selection of food. We ordered 2 main adult meals, and one with an extra side of chips. We were going to share with our 3 yo son because he won't eat a full child's meal. So we asked for a small plate. Nothing was said by the waitress who went off, but didn't return with a plate. A couple of minutes later we asked again for a small plate. Eventually one of the waitress came over to say that the extra chips isn't a meal so they can't bring a plate! I said that the chips were with one of the main meals, that it son is 3 years old so can we have a plate rather than him eat off the place mat. Begrudgingly they brought one, despite it being "against the rules". I commented that it was a stupid rule and that I was happy to speak to the manager about it. I asked twice to speak to the manager, was advised that they were in the kitchen (we could see into it). She didn't come. So clearly not interested in customer feedback. So all in all a negative experience over some weird, inflexible, "rule". If you're buying food, you should be able to share it with whoever you want. Especially a small child. If it was an unlimited buffet with a fixed price I'd see the rationale. In this case there is none. Really rather pathetic. The food was fine. Nothing exceptional but nice enough. No complaints.

Wonderful spot. Very peaceful with beautiful views and surroundings. Staff are brilliant and the full English breakfast is highly recommended 😋

Sunday roast was nice but only 2 veg was a little disappointing. I would have liked more than just carrots and peas. Husband had the all day breakfast which was lovely, I think I chose the wrong dish today!

I visited today with my 2 children who are dairy free. The waiting on team were excellent and very attentive. We had 2 adult afternoon teas between us; a dairy free sweet one for the children and a savory one for me. Portions are massive with a wide select of treats on each. We will definitely be back. Thank you for catering for the childnrens dietary needs!

What a lovely little find, super staff and amazing food. We bought our little doggy in with us and he was very welcome.

Was seated very fast , no waiting, new staff were lovely and friendly , one lady helped my elderly father get back into his wheelchair with me as seen me struggling alone. Food was beautiful Wasn't left to ask for anything 5 stars

Very nice breakfast a bit loud though. Lots of noisy people all shouting to be heard. Staff ( servers ) were very nice except the woman behind the till when you go there to pay. No signs anywhere saying pay at your table but she got very animated when trying to pay at the till. Making the other staff feel uncomfortable too.

The food was amazing as usual. Called for afternoon tea for two, I'm a big eater and more than enough for the two of us plus some in a box to take home. All food was top quality and delicious. We have visited many times, and it never disappoints .

Our table booked several days ago was booked for 1pm ...it was almost 2pm before our Savoury afternoon tea came...though the tea room was busy and noisy..the service was well below standards ..and the food was definitely not worth £19.95 per person....a very disappointing experience..hence would not return again sadly.

Went here with my Mum for a belated Mothers Day treat with Afternoon Tea. We chose a savoury version of the tea and booked our table a week before. After waiting 25 mins to be served by exhausted looking young staff member ( the place was packed out and only 2 people serving) we waited over 35 mins for it and had gone through a pot of tea and coffee before it arrived . The sandwiches were freshly made but the next tier of sausage rolls, mini savoury egg bites mini pork pie and quiche were really cheap and bland shop bought and few Pom bears with the bottom of a pack of crumbs of tortilla chips along with cheap chunks of cheese and crackers. Very dry and left almost all of it. Tge normal cake afternoon tea looked so much nicer. Although I spoke to the staff member eventually after I could get her action she spoke to the manager who I could hear and didn’t even have the decency to come over and just apologised and said they understood and that was it. We will never go back there as the service and food was so bad for the amount we paid. Avoid

Brilliant tea shop/cafe. Great selection of breakfast menu and cakes to go with a cuppa tea. Afternoon tea there very enjoyable and staff very friendly and helpful.

Very disappointed with afternoon tea on mothers day table was booked for 3pm we sat down at 3:30 are food came 3:50 which was already ordered on line drink were forgot to to be given to us no cup services was applauding we have been the last to yrs but unfortunately we will not be booking again we were asked to leave at 4:20pm half hrs and we spent £150 very poor quality 😔

We made a reservation but we weren't expected when we arrived. This is the third time. Waiting for a table to become free, we sat and waited. Another couple arrived and our waitress told them the table would be available soon, our table! We had a nice savoury afternoon tea, unable to finish it, so took the rest home.

Love this tea rooms, have never been disappointed in anything I have drunk or eaten there, the cakes are especially worth going for.

Afternoon tea was great with lots of tasty cakes and lovely scones. A little disappointed that we tried to order water twice with two different waiters but it never arrived. The wall next to our table was full of marks and ready for a new lick of paint, otherwise the place was lovely.

Just eaten an amazing all day breakfast from here, my husband was disappointed when he finished his! Highly recommended.

Arrived on time booked table they said our table would be free in 10 minutes, in actual fact it was a hour, took 20 minutes to decide where we would sit, staff do not have a glue what they are doing after 40 minutes we were asked what we wanted, then as we had been buggered about so long they said we had ten minutes left at our table what a dump of a place

So disappointed this morning, wanted to have breakfast out with my friend, but as I only have 20% of a stomach having had 80% removed I always get a child’s meal when eating out, today was the exception and a first for me since having surgery and eating out in lots of different places all over the country, I was told I couldn’t order from the children’s menu! I knew if I had a sandwich I’d only eat the bacon and not the bread, and if I ordered a full breakfast I would have eaten 1/3 of it, I can’t eat much bread so plain toast wasn’t an option, so resorted to a pot of tea and no food as I’m not willing to pay a lot of money to waste what I can’t eat. Surely a paying customer should be able to choose a smaller child sized meal if that’s all they can eat, won’t be going back for food again, very sad as it’s a place I’ve always really enjoy for food!

Everything about the Pet Cem is legendary. Whether for just afternoon tea or funerals, you will not get better service or passion and all within the perfect location .

Average food. Staff slow to serve. Not very attentive. Asked to split the bill, was charged twice which the manager did eventually rectify several days later. Advertised ‘fresh cakes’ were not fresh, I think they had been sat there a few days. Very expensive for what you get. You only get 1.5 hours at your table.

Often come on a Saturday for a family catch up breakfast, The food & service is great we love Maria’s breakfast 😊. Thank you

This is one of our favourite places and the Afternoon Tea for Two is a real treat. A sandwich, a scone with jam and cream, 3 lovely cream cakes and unlimited coffee for £20. Can't go wrong. Then a stroll around the peaceful grounds of the Pet Cemetery (chuckling at the great names people call their pets). Highly recommended.

Not sure if we went on a particularly bad day but the service was appallingly slow. We'd booked a table and it was a Saturday afternoon. We were served by a rather moody looking young lady who made us feel like everything was too much trouble. We were waiting for ages to order dessert but gave up after waiting 15 minutes. Food was very tasty but sadly the service let the place down

What a wonderful afternoon tea experience. Food was delicious both the sweet and savoury options for the tea. Didn't need to eat again in the evening. Can highly recommend, one of the best I've tried.

The best all day breakfast ever

First time visiting the tea rooms after hearing great things. I found a large piece of clingfilm in my lasagne, was brought a ‘new’ portion in which I found a smaller piece of clingfilm towards the end. It was also rather dry compared to the first portion and I suspect was possibly the same portion replated and reheated again. When raised again with the staff, they simply justified it by explaining that the portions are wrapped in clingfilm and refused to offer a discount, only a free piece of cake. There seemed to be no concern about choking hazards being left in food. I refused the free cake as didn’t trust their food safety practices at this point. I was also ill not long later which I suspect is from how the food was reheated again. It’s safe to say I won’t be going back.

A nice festive feast today. The staff are all lovely.

Lovely place, a sanctuary when you’re there waiting to take your loved one’s ashes home. I’ve taken one doggy best friend, and 7 Guinea pigs over the years. The cafe staff has always been so patient and kind, so are the admin staff. They remembered what type of casket wood color, my name even though my last name has changed due to death. It’s a beautiful place, well maintained, food is yummy too, I always feel welcomed and comforted when I am there. Highly recommended.

Our whole family has been here multiple times for afternoon tea just for the fantastic food, drink, atmosphere and lovely staff! We also unfortunately recently got to discover that this high quality service transfers to their pet funeral services when within the same day we were able to say goodbye to our beloved 15 year old MWD Borik and have momentos and his ashes home before we had to go to bed without him. Thank you so much, we will be back again to remember our furry friend over afternoon tea again <3

Visited to have Cream Afternoon Tea in memory of my cat who passed away 1 year to the date of our visit. The food was amazing and the service was also brilliant. Would highly recommend.

Come here every couple of weeks and always bring the dogs. The staff are really friendly and always say hello to the dogs and offer us water for them. Food is always tasty and well presented & great value for money! Can’t wait to come back!

I visited the tearooms today at 12 30 my cousin ordered an all day breakfast with 2 poached eggs and toast i have a really bad bowel condition so ordered poached egg on white toast and was told i couldnt have it after 12 even though they were doing poached eggs and toast for my cousin i was very disappointed that they wouldnt cater for my dietry need and wont be going there again

We came here for a late lunch. Upon ordering from our friendly waitress, we were told that they weren’t allowed to put through individual orders of chips. Very odd. We ate, food was acceptable but nothing spectacular. Two of us then went up to the counter to view the cakes and were greeted by a very rude older blond woman with glasses on her head. We were speaking with another diner who was telling us which cake he had. The lady behind the counter was disinterested and repeatedly told us that we had to pay at the table in an abrupt manner. We explained that we were looking at the cakes where the lady flapped more and said “fine”. We then asked if there were vegan cakes to be met with a face like thunder. “You have to pre order vegan, we used to make them but nobody wanted them so they all go in the bin” no apology or offer of anything else. We paid (at the table) and left. You missed out on further custom and we will not be returning due to the atmosphere created by this one lady. Shame.

Good food, reasonable pricing. Coffee not the greatest though Pleasant grounds suitable for walking a dog. Din of nearby A road not ideal but not too intrusive ( and not at all if seated inside) service was friendly and efficient.

Have visited the tea rooms many times before & once again we were not disappointed. Delicious food & lovely staff, great service. Highly recommended.

Not exactly family friendly!!! Lovely food, great location and beautiful place only fault i found was to do with child's meal. I came in today with my mother, and 2 year old daughter, whom is completely off her food at the moment due to teething so i got her a portion of chips (chips came in a little metal basket), and when i asked for a side plate the waitress was rude - didn't answer me and looked at me daft, she returned with the plate, but stated they do not allow food sharing!! Which I wouldn't mind but i had ordered her chips! However, i wasn't going to pay £7.95 for a child's meal for it to be all wasted, and to be honest I wouldn't ever pay £7.95 for a meal for her as she has a terrible appetite and i think what's the point as she will just waste it. I would have given this place 5* as it is lovely, but i found this comment very disappointing and it has put me off returning with my children now which is sad as its such a great place to visit!

The staff were really helpful and friendly plus the food was excellent for the price would tell everyone about the place

Booked in advance for afternoon tea as it has been recommended. We arrived and was greeted by silence, seated and menu's thrown onto the table and then left with no one coming to take any sort of order. Others arrived after us without a reservation and were seated and orders taken within two minutes. After 20 minutes we were still ignored, multiple people walked by us and didn't even smile or say a word so we left. Nothing was said as we were leaving either even though two of the servers were stood near as we got up they just seemed to stare through us. We were told it was a really lovely place so it's a shame we couldn't even try anything. Won't be attempting to go again unfortunately.

Visited while holidaying in the area. Absolutely gorgeous place for a tearoom. Afternoon tea was amazing and Beau really appreciated the doggy menu. The staff went above and beyond and made the most marvelous birthday cake for my daughter. Thank you all so much.

Booked afternoon tea. All very strawberry. Sandwiches were very fresh but NOT BUTTER. Tasted like cheap margarine/spread this spoiled the taste. Had to remove the filling and leave the bread. The cemetery it's self was amazing and well kept. immaculate! Well worth a walk round, but very emotional be prepared to shed a few tears. The smell of the crematorium was a bit off-putting. No NHS or Bluelight discount. Not sure if would go again.

A lady behind the counter barked at us to take a table when the waitress came we ordered three teas and a coffee waited fifteen minutes still no still no drinks asked at the counter where our drinks where looked at us daft the waitress hadn't put our order in so we left with nothing

I think this was the first time that I had sought a hot drink at a Pet Cemetery but The Tea Rooms provide a range of lunchtime options from a modern elevated tearoom at the centre of the well manicured facility. On a warm day the balcony provided a comfortable position to take in the views above the Dee estuary and enjoy the home made fayre on the menu. My latte was quite delicious, as was the fruit scone and clotted cream. As expected dogs are welcome, and you might take a leisurely walk through the adjacent military cemetery where service dogs are laid to rest.

Lovely tea rooms and very helpful & friendly staff. The cake is to die for! I ate here with my parents for a light lunch which was tasty & fresh as always. Lots of space & light and overall a lovely spot to eat.

Don’t let the title fool you. The Tea Rooms at the pet cemetery are superb. The location is jaw dropping, full of nature, peaceful and relaxing. Yes, there is a pet cemetery, but the grounds are pristine, and the cafe is set back. It is very popular for families to lay there beloved pet to rest. Sitting in the cafe, you do not feel anything but relaxed and hungry. You are greeted by a friendly team, seated quickly and given a menu that is full of traditional food. Our drink arrived quickly and our food followed shortly afterwards. I had a traditional ploughman’s, my partner chose Welsh Rabbit. The portions are very generous indeed. It tasted fresh, with generous portions of cheese, ham, salad and a side dish of three pickles and bread. Both meals are recommended. Then if you’re still hungry, you can have your cake and eat it. All the cakes here homemade. They look and taste amazing and if you’re too full, you can buy cake to take home. Prices are similar to pubs, but here, they portions you get make it good value. Once we had finished our meal, we sat out on the veranda watching the Housemartins swoop and dive. Each way I looked was a different bird or flower. The Tea rooms at the pet cemetery are a real treat and I highly recommend a drive to Brynford to find it.

Lovely tearoom with a great food and drink selection. Staff were friendly and polite. Would definitely recommend booking in advance as it does get quite busy. Cakes are also available to take away, and cost around £4 per slice (nice big portion as well!). Set it a lovely location - we will definitely be returning.

This place was recommended to me & I have to say it was a great recommendation too. The grounds are so beautiful & the food is amazing at great prices too. I will definitely be revisiting this place soon.

We hadn’t booked so just turned up. Everything was as you would expect in a well run Tea room. We sat on the veranda and enjoyed the lovely weather and pleasant views. The food and drink was great, exactly what we wanted and served promptly and efficiently. Perhaps The best kept secret in the area!
