Taste Of Italy Pizzeria in North Down

A friend and I ordered food from fone a kebab/ taste of italy tonight. We had been told from a few friends that it was disgusting and arguably the worst place to eat in Bangor so we weren't expecting much but the service we received was appalling. Upon arrival we thought we were at the back of it because there was no counter just french doors into an open kitchen, where there was an old rag laying on the floor. We ordered a 10 inch pizza and a chip with a ketchup "dip." I quote dip because what we received was a chip smothered in ketchup. When I brought this up to the cook he said "that's not what you said" even though I requested a dip, and then made me pay £3.25 for a portion you could hold in one hand. When recieving our food we were astounded by the smell of the margarita pizza. It was topped with some weird, smelly spicy breadcrumb coating and garlic. It was so disgusting I ripped off the crusts to eat on their own which was barely edible because the taste was dreadful, and my friend tried to feed the rest to his dog but even she wouldn't eat it so it went to waste. The chips tasted like they had been triple cooked in lard! The oil literally oozed out of it when you squeezed it. Even for late-night food I will NEVER be back to fone a kebab/ taste of Italy. Absolutely APALLING.

Ordered a pizza with chicken and bacon also a cheesy garlic bread it was stinkin some wierd off putting taste to the pizza and the cheese on the garlic bread was crusty and burnt left an awful taste in me n my freinds mouth woke up next morning and was sick all the next day AVOID.

It was cold under cooked and freezing and burnt not getting out of here again.

Ordered on Just Eat and 40 minutes after food was due (which was an hour and a half after ordering) I phoned about order and was told they would phone me back. They did not phone back and in follow-up call would not cancel order and still have not two hours on. If a restaurant has not the capacity to accept orders it should not accept them and Just Eat should be dealing with this. It is now 1.30 am and either we go without takeaway food tonight or order from somewhere else which may not be possible. The restaurant has taken my money and caused significant stress in my household by hanging up without resolving the matter. This is appalling customer service and Just Eat should not be facilitating it.

This was a Just Eat order which never arrived. I am presently trying to get a refund from Just Eat. Not a great impression on first usage of this place. I probably should have read the previous reviews.

Absolute disgrace of a service food was susposed to arrive at 8:05 and didn’t arrive till 9:25 after multiple calls to the shop and the only answer I could get was “yes driver on the way” every time. The food was horrible I got a half pounder burger the burger was stone cold after taking a bite and the red sauce was like vinegar was thrown in the bin straight away, my girlfriend got a mash and pork chop she reckons the mash was lovely ( not hard to make). The pork chop was like a stone after cutting it she threw it away as was like rubber to chew, not only did we have to walk out of the estate to meet him because the driver was trying to say the eircode didn’t exist it is an air b&b me and my girlfriend drove up yesterday and had no problem finding it with the same eircode. People do not waste your money on this shamble of a takeaway

Absolute garbage, leave you hanging on just eat with out confirmiing or decling order, you would only eat the food when drunk because nowhere else open. AVOID.

IF I COULD GIVE 0 STARS I WOULD. The first time it was late and cold. The second order never arrived, after saying it was delivered (they took the payment) then marked it as delivered and wouldn’t answer any call. The following day, he didn’t help in anyway- saying that it wasn’t his fault as I ordered through just eat. If anyone has some sense (unlike me) they would stay far away from here.

Both times I’ve ordered both times I’ve had problems, the second being an absolute joke. The first time it was cold and 1.5hrs late and made us pay twice and refund the first time as we ordered it through just eat, in fairness it was cold but food was alright. The second time, they marked as delivered. It never arrived and because if last time I tried phoning, the store was closed yet it wouldn’t offer a refund. The next day I phoned the store and the owner was horrible on phone, calling “ME A LIAR” saying that it was my fault I didn’t order directly. Unlike me if you have any sense read this and stay well away. He’s more than likely a scam, and shouldn’t be in the hospitality industry.

Perfect place for a late night scran. Service was friendly and provided with a smile. The pizza was served hot and tasted great - it was lovely to get a taste of some authentic Italian pizza at a good price. Would recommend 👍

Beware of this place! Worst food experience in my life. Ordered food at 1am with order being confirmed straight away. Come 4am they change it on just eat to delivered and refuse to pick up their phone. So no food delivered and no money back what so ever. Do not order from here unless you want to spend money on thin air.

Ordered a pizza at 12ish and got it at 2 am and didn't even mention that they where late by 2 hours and not even a apologie. I had asked for a margerita 12 inch and I got a spicy pizza with alot of toppings on it and now they will not pick up the phone definitely would not recommend and I acctaully thought this place would be good.

Great food. Banging pizza. Good price. House sauce is out of this world amazing. Authentic Italian cooking. Staff lovely as well, a hidden gem for the peninsula.

Ordered food via Just Eat. Garlic bread arrived cold, one slice was multi seeded bread, and the other was like a sourdough base. The burger was tasted and looked like cheap meat from McDonald's. The bacon and cheese on the burger weren't very nice either. The carbonara was very heavy, covered in a thick sauce. With the same cheap bacon strewn through it as was on the burger. The only good thing was the vanilla milkshake. Don't waste your money.

Stingy and gritty while the pasta that I spent 30 quid on left a taste in your mouth you wouldn't wish your worst enemy. Rotting folks.

Food isn't bad, open nearly all hours. Can't complain.

We've ordered 3 or 4 times now, giving them them the benefit of the doubt as they're new. There's something off with the flavour of the pizzas - maybe the sauce? It's too garlicky and the flavour isn't good. We won't be ordering again.

AVOID PLEASE!!!! The last time I ordered a delivery on just eat this place took the money but no food arrived at my home.

Unfortunately I find them untrustworthy. I ordered on just eat. They accepted the order. Order was supposed to arrive between 1.15 and 1.30. rang at 1.42 to see if it was definitely on its way to us. I was told the driver was on their way. I enquired again at 2.20 and the phone was not answered but the order was cancelled. Just unacceptable. I've actually lost faith in Just Eat that they would have such an unethical place still on their platform. There are lots of reviews on their platform with experiences like mine but I can't review on there because they cancelled my order an hour after it was supposed to be with me!

Horrible takeaway ran by horrible people, AVOID

Awful business. Ordered through just eat got accepted order spent over £45 for it not to be delivered. Avoid this rubbish business that everyone talks so highly off.

Tried to order food, order immediately accepted and we were told it was on its way within seconds, payment was taken instantly. After the food didn’t show up and we tried to get in contact with the restaurant, there was no answer and no help given at all. Awful food establishment, absolute shambles of a business. Useless. Had to ask the delivery driver to keep it down twice. The food seems excellent but was freezing.

We called them when our order was late, but no answer. Kept trying to get in contact, eventually they cancelled our JustEat order, so we had to pay the delivery driver when he turned up (more inconvenient than anything else due to it being 2am). The food wasn't great--extremely heavy on pepper and the spaghetti bolognese was spicy, like a hot curry. No thanks.

Do not order from here, incredibly creepy!! Driver called me at 2.30 a half an hour after they cancelled my order, I explained how inappropriate it was and hung up, the driver was sitting outside my house the whole time!! Drove away and then text my phone..’This is the last time u communicate with us And the past time We communicate with u DO NOT ORDER with us Any more We keep ourselves to ourselves And the same keep urself to urself’ I had only placed 1 previous order with this company via just eats, they cancelled and called me explaining they no longer work with just eats and apologised and said they were bringing my food now for free, driver came demanded money I said no it was meant to be on the house due to the complications and the 2 hr wait, driver left then another 2 hours later food arrived again and left on door handle. This place is so dodgy and creepy it’s unreal

AVOID! Orders 2 veggie options and they put meat on both pretty disgusting, zero quality food and very late DELIVERY. Charged £8 delivery absolute joke. Especially avoid if you are ordering from Belfast. Would give zero stars if possible

Made an order through just eat and had a phone call from someone being cheeky asking why I didn't phone them to place my order. then he canceled my order and told me if I was paying over the phone it would be dearer. Same as last week when I ordered someone contacted me furious to why I didn't phone them to make an order. Then I received messages on whats app mouthing off.. Definitely wouldn't order from them again.

These people had cancelled the order when I rang back to check the order, the cancelled it and asked me to pay for it in a different way, the food was cold when it arrived, the pizza was over cooked and burnt, the southern fried chicken is a joke, unbuttered naked fried and dry chicken, the whole lot was a big regret….the delivery man gave me an attitude and harassed me because I missed his call, after being late for 2 hours😡😡😡 the whole experience was shocking…..stay far away!

Ordered a 30 quid takeaway including kebab and pizza last night , it never even arrived , I also paid by card over the phone so I'm owed a takeaway or a refund however they won't even answer the phone to me now , absolutely disgusted

Wow this food was amazing i really like it, it not may be the best but as long it is good for me then thats good. I have many other restaurants that are better but this is really amazing, the only thing i dont like is that not always things are cooked well. I dont mean that it is cold but warm, and as a person that i rather hot food then thats just a minus from me, but overall its good. Thank you

Would definitely not recommend!! I ordered a pizza and wings which took nearly 3 hours to get here then when it came the pizza might aswell been dipped in flour 🤦‍♀️ The whole of the bottom of the box was just covered in flour it nearly made me choke. The wings were tasteless and greasy. For £6 quid delivery it really was not worth my wait or money!! Also forgot my drink

First we heard of from tonight. Ordered pizza wedges and pasta and it was beautiful! Arrived hot and have to say the pasta was one of the best I have ever tasted! Credit where Credits due 💯😀

Update: £18 for vegan cheese chips and a small vegan garlic bread? Was overcharged and told I'd get a refund, but haven't yet. Took nearly an hour for the food to be ready for collection. The phone line dropped and I called back immediately, but the guy was overly angry about it. Misogynistic? Completely different experience from my original 5 star review. ------------------------------------------------------------------- The chef tonight is highly creative and has mastered the art of pizza making. Vegan pizza, vegan cheesy garlic bread, and vegan cheesy chips. Crispy onions were added on top and really, it's a game changer. Flavour is plentiful, arrived hot, and the crust is nice and crisp. The vegan cheesy garlic bread is top notch with sesame seeds and poppy seeds on the bottom of the crust and crispy onions on top. THANK YOU FOR CATERING TO VEGANS! Local vegans: clog your arteries via support for local business. Seriously, this place has delicious takeaway. Highly recommended.

Fantastic pizza and fast delivery!

Stopped for a snack here for a change. Ordered a kids size 7 inch hawain pizza. Thin crust and fresh garlic on top. Really nice and warm and tasty. I will be back.

I’ve never had a problem until tonight, ordered chicken kids meal but got sausage meal, the wait was about an hour and a half. The pasta was alright, kebab was a bit odd. The pasta was coming out the pack same as the kebab.

Really such a pity, because I know I would have enjoyed the pizza if it wasn't two hours late (not exaggerating-was literally two hours!!) and close to being cold. Called the restaurant 9 times and Facebooked them. No answer, just rang out. My husband started thinking we got scammed somehow and checked his bank account just in case. My 2 kids hadn't eaten, were starving by the time it got to us and it was past their bedtime, so they were cranky to say the least. Our hotel even took it upon themselves to ring them for us and although they didn't pick up for the hotel staff after two attempts, the pizza place called back seeing a missed call, saying (an hour and a half in at that point), they'd be another 30 minutes. Even the manager at the Hotel told them how unacceptable it was. Not to mention the manager of the hotel said they should have given us upto 50% off because of Northern Irelands Eat out to Help out scheme (which we availed of at other places during the rest of our roadtrip over the next week). So basically they overcharged us for food, still charged the delivery fee despite not deserving it and were two hours late with lukewarm pizza. Not cool. You'd think at very least they'd throw in a few drinks or something to make up for it.

Their food is superb, Italian food like Mamma used to make,as is the service,i"ve eaten Italian food from Rome to Liverpool and these guys are well in the running folks,"Enjoy!"

2nd time ordering here in recent times, both amazing despite every different orders. Kebab the 1st occasion and pizza the 2nd but this takeaway made them both to the highest of standard. My partner and I have both said it will be getting plenty of business during the lockdown. Extra shoutout to the guy that answers the phone, very friendly and great banter. Keep up the good work

5* Food and service. Very unlikely for me to give 5* as I always complain, not this time. Vegetarian Pasta&vegetarian Pizza both absolutely delicious, pasta carbonara smelt and looked amazing . Well done guys :)

Tried for first time,had two pasta dishes the. Carbonara was rich and creamy and the marinated beef tender,the portions were good and very hot.delivery was precisely as promised really good food driver Was. Dressed In protective gear and careful with distancing themselves from me very courteous great value for money I’ll be back soon John

Ordered a carbonara and a Hawaii pizza for us to share and both were very delicious! We even got a bonus this time with a slice of homemade orange cake 😋 it was absolutely amazing, so light and fresh! I order from here a lot and Taste of Italy never fails to impress, the food and service from here is always fantastic! Usually very quick delivery but on one occasion we didn’t mind waiting that little extra time as the food is so worth it :)

Hello just ordered a pizza 12" with my choice of ingredients and a Kids pasta. Kids pasta is spaghetti with tomato sauce and cheese and herbs. Very tasty and a good portion as well. Chips are tasty and a capri-sun juice. The pizza is slim base just one bad thing, didn't order fresh garlic and had a lot! Luckily we like garlic but it's a strong ingredient... so just for that I don't score as excellent. But do recommend!

My son wanted a repeat pizza from here - he said they were good and boy was he right! We ordered two margaritas and they were just fabulous. Beautiful light pizza base, tasty REAL mozzarella and a delightful tomatoe sauce. I can see that the pizza chefs are mad passionate about what they do - extra fresh cheese grater on the pizza afte it has been cooked and also fresh pepper and garlic grated on too. You must try here honestly. The staff are very friendly but most importantly the pizzas are YUMMY! Excellent value and good access for parking. We only had pizzas but there is a comprehensive menu with pasta too. Just try it and see the passion that goes on before the lid closes for dispatch to the lucky eater!
