Absolutely horrendous. Samosas were gone off, it was disgusting I nearly threw up. Food was tasteless, chicken thrown into their base onion gravy and heated up, no flavours or seasoning. The place is falling apart. Tripped over the loose carpet as soon as I walked in.

We were staying at the Premier Inn in Holyhead and ordered few curries and naans, the karahi chicken was not karahi chicken but some chicken tikka which should be used as starter but mixed in some random made up sauce, other chicken dish was again with the same chicken tikka and mixed with made up sauce which definitely wasn't butter chicken. Lamb was exactly the same disappointment. This food is anything but authentic Indian food. If you like your Indian curries then avoid this place. We spent all that money and had to go down to the hotel restaurant and have the premier inn curry which was more authentic.

We have enjoyed takeaway from here before and hoped it was as good this time. It was. Again we had 6 different dishes and each one was authentic and delicious - tasty rather than hot - absolutely superb. They delivered it some 2 to 3 miles as well which was a great bonus. We highly recommend for reliable and great food and service. Full marks.

I’m not sure what that vaguely sweet sauce smothering the chicken was but definitely not Masala. The rice was good, but that’s all I could recommend. She brought things we didn’t order, forgot things we did … but mostly it was that they told us that the card reader wasn’t working (because it was a national holiday?!?) and that we’d suddenly need cash in a local currency (where we were spending 24 hours). Something a bit off about the whole thing…

Visited with friends after reading great reviews. Big disappointment. Never over boil chicken as it goes tough. Once tough all you can do is shred it. The sauces accompanying the chicken didn’t resemble any Indian/Pakistani sauces I’ve ever tasted. My sauce was tika masala, it looked dark red like the sauce you get in a jar (knor) now add spice and cream and yogurt to this and you can get away with this but not on this occasion. One of our friends ordered lamb but gat chicken, when inquiring about this he was told lamb was expensive??? We ordered mixed starters for six. Six plates of meat and lots of onion gravy. One each. Service was pleasant but the girl couldn’t identify the dishes served. Not her fault. Decor, the place badly needs a good clean and a lick of paint.

Just visiting the area and done trip advisor to choose, so had reasonable expectations. 1. Phone ringing continuously at a massive volume 2. Couldn't offer alcohol as licence taken off them. 3. Requested mixed starters for five, and expected various dishes, received what can only be described as slop on every plate. lettuce tomato and some meats with onions slopped over the top. 4. Waited an hour for mains when they arrived on a 1970's trolley the girl (god bless her) didn't even know what the dishes were, so the (chef) eventually came out and dismissively informed us. 5. The food was bloody appalling, one of our party has a few take aways and hazarded a guess that the chicken had been over boiled then thrown into a shop bought sauce. 5. One of the guys received chicken instead of Lamb and didn't want to complain but thought he'd deal with it after. 6. The rice was cooked properly 7. The girl was apologetic and tried her best under difficult circumstances. 8. When we went to pay it my mate said he wouldn't pay for the chicken dish he didn't want and didn't eat. The owner argued that that was unreasonable as he'd had to pay for the chicken which was expensive. We eventually got out and honestly wondered why we hadn't left within the first ten minutes. Good news was no food poisoning

Visited a taste of India at the weekend and despite my gut instinct telling me to leave I chose to stay. Taking my seat next to an unplugged Lidl electric fire and a full size mirror randomly leaning against the wall collecting cobwebs, I looked out the window and for a second thought I was in a 1990 post Soviet Union country. So I looked down at the carpet snd wished I hadn’t. Napkins were little paper towels and the ambience was more like “Joes Cafe” No alcohol however the waiter recommended Lidl if we wished to purchase some. I was planning to leave however my friend who has learning difficulties made a terrible mess with the popadoms. We ordered mixed starters for the group and each received a plate of starters that were mixed in a blender; honestly it was slop covered in onions. An hour later our main dishes arrived on a trolley that clearly belonged in the local hospital. The waiter could not tell us what the mains were and asked the chef to come out ( neither of the staff were wearing masks). He pointed at our dishes and informed us which was which. Some dishes on the table we had not ordered and others were clearly made by sauces likely to have been purchased a Lidl. One of our party owns a few restaurants and described the chicken as over boiled. All in all a dreadful experience.

We ordered 7 dishes and so had a chance to really see what Taste of India had to offer and on the whole the food was great. On the other hand, there was a major disappointment; the balti keema peas appeared to have no keema nor peas! Whenever I have had keema before, it is a minced lamb dish, not (as in this case) chopped up seekh kebabs in a sauce. When I raised it with the management, they said daily ‘fresh’ keema was not a possibility for a restaurant of this size - well, I wish I’d been told at the point of ordering and... no peas in the keema peas! (To be fair, we weren’t charged for the non keema, non peas, keema peas)On the plus side, their tarka dhall is phenomenal!Service not great, our uncleared plates and dishes remained on the table for a good half hour after we’d confirmed we’d finished. In summary: could do better.

Went here after reading the good reviews. When we walked inside it was grotty and very dirty. Food all over the carpet! Was this from yesterday’s customers?! We where even joking who was going to get food poisoning first as it looked so bad. I ordered the lamb tikka bhuna, the lamb was dry and hard, really oily and terrible flavour. Huge sliced onions in it and no spices or cinnamon sticks. In other words a poor mans curry. We had chapatti’s with our curry. Which was dry and you couldn’t open them up. In other words it had been microwaved. What was even better it cost £7.50 for these! Our main was only £6:50!!! It didn’t help my partner felt like he was going to be sick for the rest of the evening. Both of us didn’t feel good afterwards. Avoid at all costs!

Whilst the locality and frontage caused some raised eyebrows I have to say we were more than pleased with the quality of the food and the service provided by the chef and his wife. The mains were freshly cooked and extremely tasty and the overall price was fair. Our first draught of lager was questionable but the bottled beers were fine. People's review here summarise that it is the best! Well maybe because there is very little competition, or maybe something else. I cannot say why the others reviews are full of praise. I can mention my experience. Requested a takeaway order on phone. Insisted on an receipt, so that I can get the expenses refunded from the company. The lady did not arrive with a receipt and said I will need to talk to the manager to get it and I should drive and get it myself. After a couple of phone calls to the manager, never managed to get the request across, as the person pretended he cannot understand me. I am Indian too and spoke in Hindi! It felt she was feigning it. Anyway, the food itself - a fish curry was full to the brim of the box with finely chopped tomatoes and onions with 2 tiny pieces of fish hidden inside which I had to check and double check to make sure they were the fish I ordered. Upon eating I found that it was tough as leather. Nothing unique or tasty about it.

A good range of drinks, food and plates were hot, the service was excellent and, typical of the area, the staff were very friendly. The restaurant only seats 30 so it has a cosy feel. As you enter the restaurant there are two tables of four seats that are back to back and these are too close. Seats were touching and it can become irritating when someone keeps moving and knocking your seat. There really is only room for one table there unless they close off the second entrance gap by the table and move one table along a little. Failing that choose the seats along the wall. Even so a good experience. There is parking at Lidl next door and it is 5 mins walk from Holyhead station.

i really fancied an Indian meal tonight and my Husband Kev ordered a takeaway to be picked up for me , I ordered chicken madras, pilau rice keema nan , and onion bhajis , and as usual it was fantastic , the onion bhajis were so fresh , slightly crispy but loads of tasty onions inside with a lovely taste , there were 4 and they were so good i ate 3 1st before starting anything else , everything was perfect as usual , my Son came up to see us from Kent and i had been raving about the food from here so we ordered pretty much the same , but with sheesh kebabs , oh boy , spot on , and he also had chicken korma which he said was great , cant wait for next takeaway thank you Taste of India see you soon

I'm working in the area and have visited twice. Friendly waiter and lovely food. The king prawns in the Jalfrezi are probably the biggest I've ever had. The special fried rice is very light with no clumps. I will be visiting again!!

16 of us went here for a friends get-together and they accommodated amiably. Typical Indian restaurant, serving all the traditional dishes we're accustomed to and not too pricey. Staff were all pretty friendly, and despite the size of our group, didn't make too many mistakes with our sizeable order!!I'm sure I'll be back soon enough.

The food may be good but I will never know. The difficulties in ordering by 'phone should have set alarm bells ringing, particularly having to spell some very basic dishes (I do speak clearly). The said an hour we rang them after an hour and a half and it was clear from the shouting and conversation in the background no one had a clue where our meal was. One cancelled order and we will not try again. May be Saturday but this is very poor service.

My family (2 young boys, the wife and I) have eaten here 4 times now and the food has always been excellent. I love a good curry and this place is as good as you'll find. The food is well spiced, the meat is tender and it is served hot. The portions are generous but not too much. I have given it a 4 as the service is good but not excellent. The staff can sometimes appear stressed and distracted. A minor point. Keep up the good work.

We use this restaurant every time we stay in Anglesey usually with no problem. However this visit unfortunately wasn't great. Had to wait a long time for the food. We ordered to take away. People sitting in the restaurant came in after us and got served before us. On getting back to our holiday accommodation we found that items we ordered were missing. The food wasn't as nice as usual. Poppadoms were stale. Chicken Tikka Jalfrazei was pale and bland.Sorry i dont think that we will return time to find a new restaurant. Sorry

We are often visitors to Taste of India both for takeout and restaurant food. We have never had any reasons to complain. The food is always hot tasty and generous portions. Delivery is prompt and reasonable charges all round. Welcome is great, service perfect. What more can a customer ask for ?

No body seated in the restaurant though for take away seemed busy whilst waiting I noted they received telephone complaints that items were missed from orders that had been delivered. After quite a long wait was given my order and yes on getting my order home items were missing! What food we did have was alright but have had better from there and if missing items from peoples orders may be time to try somewhere else. Overall disappointing.

This was my favourite place to eat, then it changed, no alcohol licence... But, went back in March and April and wow, food absolutely superb!!! I really can't fault it at all, I'll have to ration my visits or I'll never get into my clothes!!! ( and they have an alcohol licence now ) well done to the spice of India, met everyone there and I felt very, very welcome indeed.

Had a takeaway from here last night with friends. We normally go to their restaurant in Menai Bridge but thought we'd give this place a go.My Makhani was as always delicious as was my partner's bhuna. Their pea rice is also lovely. Our friends opted for Jalfriezi and Chat which they said were both delicious.Decently priced and highly reccomended.Tip: The Onion Bhajis as a starter are gorgeous.

I had visited taste of India for takeouts many years ago at least 8 years ago, and so in March 2016, me and my family decided to book a long awaited table to sit and eat in the restaurant. When we arrived we were greeted by a welcoming and helpful staff member who showed us to our table and then took our drinks order, we had a starter of onion bhajis to share with poppadoms and sauces and I must say all food was very delicious and the flavours were so lovely. We then had our main meals as I had chicken korma, then other family members has chicken passanda and chicken tikka masala, the korma was creamy and delicious and the same was said for the passanda. The tikka masala was also delicious and so we couldn't compliment the food more, the staff were friendly and so helpful throughout the evening. The portion sizes were great and the price was very good for 4 drinks, starters, main meals and a takeout for a family member who couldn't come on the night as the price was £53 which we found very good for what we ordered and ate. I will definitely be visiting here again in the future and I highly recommend eating here.

I have had to wait for the opportunity to reprise my praise of this small local Indian restaurant.Regardless of it's small size, this is a place to enjoy your favourite curry! The manager will greet you, spend time discussing your preferred dish and look after you with glee.Yes it can be quiet, which is only to be enjoyed as the bulk of their success is Take away's.The peace allows you to take your time to savour some really good dishes. They will even offer to create dishes to suit you.A dear friend and I had the most delightful evening - so sorry my update is late! Thank you for a great time. See you again:-))))))Ps. Forgot to mention the superb (well done-crispy) Naan!!!!!A well meaning customer complained his was burnt! WELL - it should be round the edges, just a little, like good Pizza.
