Taste of India in Fife

We popped in here last minute on a Saturday night with friends to finish a lovely day out. We were seated promptly and staff were helpful and courteous. The food was tasty, we ordered a mixture of starters and main courses to share and we were not disappointed. It was a good homely Indian. We will be back again when visiting friends. You helped create a lovely memory 💛

Now our go to Indian when we are in north queensferry. Good quality food in what is a popular local restaurant. Service was quick but not rushed

£28.45 for 2 currys and 1 rice &a nan i thought was quite expensive food was ok not much garlic on nan chickin tikka chilli garlic not very hot bhuna allright

Been eating here most weeks sit in and takeaway, can say one of the best in fife for sure. I love a curry and consistency is something you get here. Staff are friendly and welcoming. Keep up the good work

Well without going into great detail we attended a Sat night, we were served and my sons girl friend was asked how many men she slept with .......along with being subject to hear all about their sex life including how he is sleeping with a married man with a kid .......NOT WHAT I WANT TO HEAR this is totally unacceptable never felt so awkward in all my life have phoned complained still waiting for call back thats a week now !

The takeout lamb tikka massala was actually very tasty, and the meat nice and soft without being chewy, the sauce quite delicious, but I think the 'artificial colouring' of the dish was a bit over the top, too rusty/reddish looking.

Not been here for 10 years but the food is how I remembered it. Excellent. Definitely won't be another 10 years.

At the beginning everything looked nice but 1) asked for not spicy dishes. Unfortunately spicy dish, ruined our night... 2) when we asked for desert, they waiter said they are closing now. We did ask before we order our food if it will be ok to order and desert later and said no problem. The order took some time, regardless we're only 2 parties in the restaurant including us. However, we said ok, we would like to pay then and the waiter brought to us the desert menu with bad attitude. It made us uncomfortable and we divided do not order desert and just pay and leave. We are not visiting this restaurant again...

Decent atmosphere friendly attentive staff we were in a large group but the time between starter and main was the only minor hiccup. Food was decent

Have been here several times in the past and was always ok however that cannot be said about last night night . Ordered food starter was mediocre then proceeded to wait 45 minutes for mains I had chicken balti 4 pieces of chicken and some very greasy rice my friend ordered chicken byriani not good curry sauce was sour and garlic naan very doughy . However on good side I have cancelled my appointment for colonic irrigation. Most definitely won't be back

Excellent choice of dishes on menu, we all had different options but all equally delicious. Very attentive and friendly staff. Will definitely return.

Very positive first experience of Taste of India, having been badly let down on last meal by restaurant (Bay Leaf in Pumpherston) which we used for years. Meal was delivered in good time, was incredibly tasty, and we are already looking forward to ordering from TOI again.

Visited with my wife and we found the service was really good and the food presentation and flavours were absolutely excellent. 10/10 would definitely recommend

Overall food was very tasty, and was a nice restaurant. Only downside was that we waited almost an hour and a half for our food. May visit again when it's less busy :)

Sadly the wait times really let the experience down here. They seemed far more focused on attending to deliveries than the customers in the restaraunt. They had one staff member doing a mix of everything whilst the other spent the majority of their time behind the bar. Waited over an hour for 2 mains and a naan bread on a table we booked in advance, think we were forgotten about until we were considering leaving. Food was very good though.

Was there a few days ago with friends and I can say it's the best meal I've had in a long time .I never finish any meal but ate the lot would advise anyone that likes an Indian to go there so give it a try 💯♥️

A lovely meal out with the wife on a Sunday evening. The starter sharing platter for 2 was fantastic, with plenty on the plate. The mains were also good-sized portions and tasty as well.

This was our first time eating from TOI and we will definitely be back. Really friendly service and delicious food. Would recommend!

Don't do a lot of takeaways but couldn't find any food in Edinburgh late at night. Ordered via the app whilst on the bus and it was ready and waiting. Lovely food, one of the nicest tarka daal ever. And the staff were so lovely too. Definitely be back. Thank you.

Had another one of their off menu specials tonight. Amazing food, staff are friendly as always, been going to here for thirty years and the last year or so the quality of food has went up a level from there normal good standards. Keep up the good work.

Best india food i have ever eaten.

Had a fantastic meal here tonight with the family. The service was amazing as always. Ali was great fun. He definitely made the night for us. Would recommend to anyone to go. This is my favourite Indian Restaurant which I used for years when I stayed in Queensferry.

Have Been to this restaurant many times and have never been disappointed but tonight was a different story Starter was good but being left for 20 mins from finishing out starter to receiving our main course was not so good,then was just about to take a peice of my nan bread and the waiter came up and took it away apparently it was the wrong one they had gave us and by the time they brought the right one back to our table our meal was just about finished

In Rosyth for the weekend, recommended by lady in CO-OP. Did not disappoint in evey way. Party member from Australia thought it was best lamb korma she had had!!! Highly recommend.

I know mistakes can be made but it's how they deal with it that matters. Hi I would like to say 0 stars but there is one star that’s why give the 1 star very resist staff they want to see only white ppl bec they can give any food so no to tast properly. My wife ask salt and 1 guy he is looking her badly and don’t understand he is with the black Bangaly scene don’t understand what’s the atitute on that very very rubbish

Outstanding as always! Been coming here for about 12 years (maybe more) the staff are so friendly and attentive and the food is the best Indian food I have ever tasted. The Mint sauce is the best ever. Would highly recommend.

Mid-week visit on route further north. Always look out for a good Indian restaurant. First time here but didn't disappoint. Food excellent - one of the best we've been to. we have used this takeaway for 30+ years. Our last order was 30min late, cold and my donner meat was pretty dried out, even if we had complained we wouldn't have got another delivery. I called 3 times tonight to place a delivery order. As I was trying to ask for a reasonably edible meal and trying to tell what had happened last time. They ended the call. Not just once -- 3 times. I just wanted to order and pay. They have not just lost us but anyone we know as customers.

We've ordered a collection from Taste of India a couple of times now, each occasion they've been spot on. The gluten-free options are plentiful, and the friendly staff are happy to give advice on what is or isn't suitable. They're now our go-to Indian restaurant.

My family’s favourite Indian restaurant, the fish karahi is the best curry I’ve ever had! Everything we’ve ever ordered has been amazing

We spent Christmas day at taste of India. The food was delicious, service was at great pace. We had 3 plates of food that were very tasty . As a regularto this great restaurant we had excellent service as usual. Our table was beautifully decorated too. We got a goodie bag forgoing home with wine, chocs, scarfs as well as adiscount voucher for January. Looking forward to getting it booked again. The staff are great, food is delicious. Get booked up, you won't be disappointed.

Only visit once in 6 to 10 months. It has lost the mysterious Indian/Bangladeshi flavours. Strong taste of tamarind which is a hard taste (common in supermarket curry pastes & meals) Also, the last 3 times - waiter managed to charge between 20-30p more than menu prices in total... as if they don't charge enough (£15+ for curry, rice and bread). But... the meal I got wasn't what I ordered.... & not by menu description. Age 60+. Glasgow student 1970s. I don't know why they can't do the real deal

We all had a fantastic time at this restaurant last night to celebrate 🍾 my Dads 80th Birthday 🎂 the food was amazing all served together perfectly warm food with a great flavour 10/10 from everyone at our large table👌...the staff were attentive made a fuss of everyone and joined in with us to sing happy birthday 🎂 🥳 great with our baby grandson 💙 and was able to accommodate his mums dairy free diet.lovely family celebration.thanks for everything xx

I enjoyed a meal here recently on a cold, wet night and it was an all round excellent experience. I had never visited before despite living in Fife for a long time, but what a great discovery. The restaurant itself is lovely inside. Warm, comfortable and welcoming. The staff are really friendly and helpful. The meal I had was one of the best Indian meals I've ever had, and I've had many.... in a lot of places, including India 😂 The dish I had (Kerala fish) wasn't on the menu but the staff were more than happy to make it for me. It was so good and flavoursome it's difficult to put into words. Together with great service and a couple of pints of draft Cobra, it was truly an EXCELLENT EXPERIENCE!

Disgraceful portion sizes! Rice and main courses both served in the smallest plastic takeaway containers available. Nan was tiny. Spiced onions came in a tiny plastic pot. We ate all of it at once. Never done that ever. Prices not reduced but portion sizes about a THIRD of usual size. So, so disappointed and angry. Food was delicious but the " bitter taste " of beong " ripped off " lingered.

Quite honestly the best curry i have had. Superb flavour and very fresh ingredients. Staff were very friendly and the restaurant was very clean. All round excellent. I would highly reccomend this restaurant and we will definately be back again soon.

Go to indian restaurant. Been here with friends on several occasions, not only is the food fantastic, the service is first class. These guys are great at what they do.

This is my first time ordering from this restaurant after months of passing by, tempted everyday, and boy I wasn’t disappointed. The madras is to die for! We ordered so much more and it was all totally delish! I have been promised a “date night” to sit in and enjoy this food in their stylish, traditional setting next time… until then

The food, staff and atmosphere is very good. But the portion sizes are very small, abnormally and would not say portion sizes give value for money.

What can I say!! Was at a loose end for dinner and walked past so thought I would give it a go. Without a doubt one of the best sit down Indian restaurants I have ever been to. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was to die for. Simply amazing. I had haggis pakora and onion bhaji to start and the king prawn & Monkfish curry with keema naan for a main. Could not fault a thing. Generous portions and worth every penny. Price was a bit higher because there may have been the odd cobra in there too, lol. Thanks guys will definitely be back next time I am in the area.

Best place in fife for Indian food. Whether sitting in or getting a delivery they’re always amazing. I’ve ate from there for a good 6-7 years & I don’t have one complaint. 💯 recommended

Myself and two friends had a delivery from here for the first time.Disappointed is an over statement.£11.95 for my lamb balti,that wasn't actually a balti,£3.95 for a keema naan that was the size of a chapati.my friends meals were just as disappointing.small portions in small plastic containers.You can get more tasty,bigger portions from morrisons for alot cheaper.Suffice to say,we won't be back here.

Not great, just had a butter chicken and there is no doubt in my mind that they've used the packet of powder from 'Cheesy Pasta'. It was 100% in there. Not trying to be funny. That's what it was. Chicken looked like precooked chicken from a packet. Awful. Won't be back.

This is an excellent Indian! Poppadom tray is a must. Amazing selection of starters, mains and desserts. We’ve been so many times and it’s always great. Service is fantastic. Staff are so accommodating and polite. My husband and I were there a few days ago...
