Does the boss ever smile? Food was okay but the boss rushing around with a face like thunder. Doesn't matter how busy you are but doesn't take much to smile

We stopped here passing through the Lake District. Really friendly staff. We had toasties and pie. Proper ham and the food was piping hot. Great selection and service. A great find. It's really reasonable, too.

Called in yesterday for first time. An excellent breakfast good produce in particular the bacon! Sausages were huge had to take one back for the dog but don't tell the owners 😉. Definitely be in again.

Excellent cafe, really good quality food and great service. Really hit the spot and everyone on the family really enjoyed the food.

Called in and saw tatie hash was on the specials board. Chose that and after a while, a bowl was put in front of me with what looked like partly mashed potatoes, but watery, and small pieces of carrot and swede here and there, and the tiniest amount of corned beef, but had to search for it. Didn't know corned beef was so expensive. It tasted so bland too. Left half of it. Expensive bowl of potato though. Quite a nice place inside but lacks background music, no atmosphere.

Great little cafe often use it for catch up with work colleagues. The staff are very friendly & there is a good varied menu to select from. Service is always quick & homely. Home made soup, full English are our favourites. Is all reasonably priced & we believe is the best cafe in centre of Whitehaven.

I visited Taste with an old friend for a business meeting. We chose the large all day breakfast. This was freshly cooked and plentiful. The ladies who work there are the nicest people in any of the town centre cafes. Definitely will be back for more of the same.

Love the food. The service is spot on. Our "go to" place after work. Sometimes gets a little busy but worth the wait for a table..

What a lovely little Cafè. I have been here for since 2012, and never even knew it was here. Highly recommend it, the breakfast has beaten me. Coffee is really good, and ambience is welcoming and the staff are attentive, friendly and most of all professional.

We came off the train to make the walk down to St Bees and looked for a cafe for lunch. We decided to walk a little further from the marina and came across Taste in the Market place. What a little gem! Good food at a good price from very friendly people. Well worth taking those few more steps to find.

Often visit this little gem of a cafe with my mum and a Saturday for brunch, tasty food and as I’m fussy nothing is too much trouble. Love the Slimmers breakfast and huge salads. Great value for money

The lovely ladies in Taste organised a beautiful afternoon tea for our good friends surprise birthday....it was absolutely amazing they went above and beyond what is expected....amazing food and amazing hospitality...thank you Taste you're the best

My friends and I have recently started using Taste for occasional lunches out. We have used it for over a year or more for a quick coffee etc., but It has recently become very popular and is now a hive of activity. The choice of food is excellent and the staff are friendly and helpful. Luckily it is really ‘just round the corner’ for me.

If you are in the need of being set for the day or appreciate good food charming staff along with good value this is the eatery for you.

It may look like your average neighbourhood Cafe, but Taste of Whitehaven is anything but! I regularly visit with friends usually on a Tuesday/Wednesday morning and was immediately greeted by the friendly staff and incredible aroma of bacon. The cafe was filling up quickly (I normally get there between 10 am and 11.30am) but we managed to snag a table. We ordered the Full English for myself and Beans on toast for my mate The breakfast was as usual of a superb standard, after eating we sat there for a while and our expectations were once again exceeded by the friendly helpful staff. It goes without saying `Taste` is my favourite cafe around. The food doesn't even compare to others in the area, and I make special trips JUST to get it! Maybe a little expensive, but believe me, it's worth it. Thank you to all Staff that work there `Taste` is not just a café though it’s an active hub of the local community, really friendly relaxing atmosphere

Took a day trip to Whitehaven whilst on holiday, saw in advance is dog friendly, dogs allowed downstairs only, staff friendly, food was good

Fill your boots at prices that would not break the bank. Tasty homemade pie. Homemade chips and bowl of soup you could drown in. Followed by a massive slab of Malteser tiffin. One was enough to share. Certainly will be back when I’m down that way again.😄

I am blind and so, therefore, must use the computer with specialised audible software. I called in there yesterday as I do most weeks with my mate and his assistance dog, as ALWAYS fantastic Breakfast, excellent customer service.I work with a group `Disability Facilities Commission` and this little cafe staff has some of the best Disability Awareness I have come across.WHITEHAVEN'S DREAM VENUEREASONABLE PRICES

Went to Taste on saturday with mrs sarrington. She drinks a lot of coffee and she thinks it was the best cup of americano coffee she has ever had in town, and she knows her coffee. I had a baguette, reading the paper in the comfy sofas. Friendly staff, great value, will defo be back. If anyone has had a better cup of coffee please let mrs sarrington know.

We have visited this great little cafe many times for early morning breakfast dishes or lunch, and find it absolutely great. There is a good range of wholesome food, including homemade soup, pies and cakes, all are truly scrummy, and at super prices! The cafe is lovely and clean, the staff are exeptionally welcoming and make you feel at home. Highly recommend.

We had a couple of sausage and egg teacakes that were absolutely scrumptious and a pot of tea for two that produced two mug size portions each all for under a tenner.

A meal and a drink for £ 6, this is quite cheap, considering some Whitehaven restaurants charge double this. I can't fault the size of the portions and the friendliness of the staff and the quick service. If you want a decent meal and you're on a budget, please visit Taste. Also the full English breakfast for £ 4.99 is definitely a full English and well cooked. Another nice touch is the selection of newspapers and magazines you can read while you're waiting.

Never been to Taste Cafe before. Was lovely. Gorgeous crisp salad. Excellent choices. Pleasent staff. And very reasonable prices too. Would reccomend to anyone. Good job!!

Had a wonderful visit to this little hidden gem in Whitehaven. The food was well priced with huge portions! The staff were lovely and there is a dog friendly section (which our golden retriever was very pleased about). Definitely recommend and hopefully we will return when in the area again.

Fantastic place to eat. Friendly helpful staff and lovely atmosphere. Clean and wonderful place to eat. Food is delicious. Homemade cakes are out of this world. Would recommend to everyone.

Nos aseguramos de que nos paren al menos una vez por gusto cuando estamos en Whitehaven. Los desayunos son de excelente relación calidad-precio, con productos de buena calidad que están bien cocinados. El café es excelente, con una amplia gama de americanos, capuchino, etc. Ayer paramos café por la tarde y el pastel: una tarta artesanal de jengibre sirve humedo con treacle helado y una tarta de limón luz y sabrosas. Deliciosa comida con un servicio muy agradable.

Stumbled on this one by chance when looking for a mid morning snack, their coffees and scones went down a treat. The staff couldn't have been nicer, we will certainly look to go back again in the future.

Called in at lunchtime.and decided on one of the hot favourites- a good selection of a full lunch menu/savories and lunches to go including sandwiches etc- nice surroundings, good service and decent prices

Un amigo y yo estuvimos hace poco gusto para el almuerzo. La decoración te hace sentir muy relajado y el personal muy amable te daba la bienvenida.

El personal es amable y acogedor. La comida es increíble, de bollos, bollos, baguettes a desayuno inglés completo, no un defecto! Los precios son razonables! Precioso entorno con artículos para salevas. Bien vale la pena visitar o comer en el restaurante o para llevar. Instalación...

Ir en sábado la mayoría de las mañanas de té y scones, los bollos son siempre recién hechos y a veces directamente del horno. He tenido desayuno durante todo el día pero fue demasiado para mí, pero muy buena relación calidad-precio. Todas lucen bien y sándwiches para llevar el servicio disponible. El personal eficiente y amable, y hay una compra de 'club 6 tazas de café 7ª gratis. El baño está muy limpio y bien equipado. Lo recomiendo si ese extremo de la ciudad

Popped in for a quick bite on my own between appointments. Staff were lovely, very friendly. Ordered some quiche with side salad and a warm crusty roll and it came reasonably quickly. Large portions which was great, the food was lovely. Nice atmosphere and decor. Can't fault it really for a little cafe. I would go back again.

I had a savory tuna sandwich with chips and a vimto cordial. £6.40. Eat in. Lovely cafe. Very clean. Reasonable priced. They do takeaway food too at great prices. I will certainly go back.

Nice little cafe, fresh food cooked well. the staff are attentive but not intrusive. They make lots of their own food on the premises. There are cakes and sandwiches to take away. They are happy top cook food to your liking.

We have used this cafe before and had a really nice experience, it may have changed hands since our last visit. We ordered coffees and food and the coffee was very nice. Unfortunately when the food arrived the lady serving our dishes coughed all over them, repeatedly, without any attempt to turn her head away. She simply put the food down and went to the next table and then proceeded to cough all over them while she took their order. The gentleman at the table commented to her that she was "spreading her germs everywhere" to which she replied "I like to share"We left without touching our food.Not recommeded.

We have been a couple of times now, it's not the fastest service in the world, but the food is freshly made and very tasty, the prices are very reasonable. Well worth a visit if you haven't been yet.

Popped in on the off chance they served all-day brekfast to find they did. Can't fault the food which was tasty and good quality. The rest of the menu sounded lovely with lots of homemade options and beautiful cakes. Service was faultless. This will now be our go to place for breakfast. I only wish it was open on Sunday!
