Great atmosphere, great service and even better food. I last came here in 2021 and its wonderful to see it is still to a high standard several years later. Perfect for a romantic evening, family or a big group! Will be back very soon.

I own a cafe in Lindfield High Street and brought our small staff for a Christmas treat. The meal and the service were amazing and Elvis (aka Ivor Potter) was to quote Tina Turner, 'simply the best. He is great at getting people involved and making for a fantastic atmosphere. Have seen Ivor on many occasions, love all is different acts but the Vegas Lounge is one of his you should have there, he is so versatile,

went here for a birthday meal and it was so lovely. The quality of the food was great and everything tasted wonderful.

A delightful experience! Truly delicious and authentic India food with wonderful service. I’m grateful to the large team of people working here who are clearly dedicated to service and sharing the best parts of their culture with us here in the UK lucky to find this place.

7 of us came on a busy Saturday night. Lovely food as always. Very good service. I even asked for main meal to have a nice gap from starters and they let me tell them time I wanted it and it was all perfect nothings too much trouble They did the birthday candle and pudding for my son. Very lively busy place but service doesn't suffer so all good.

It was our first visit and our wedding anniversary. We chose lunch midweek expecting few people and it was so. The staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. The service was very prompt and attentive. We were well advised and we had an excellent meal, with a free drink at the end. It is fairly priced and good value. An excellent experience and we will return.

Love this place. Staff, decor, tables are welcoming and top drawer. Makes you feel at home and staff couldn’t be more helpful. Food is simply excellent. Consistent with a tried and trusted menu. Always seem to find something different which never disappoints.

At my sister's birthday party, there were eleven of us seated at a large round table. I ordered the Chicken Shaba Tarana and a special naan, which were delicious. The staff was polite and the service was good. I highly recommend this place.

I plan to attend the Sunday buffet, which is typically very busy but offers plenty of delicious food and excellent service. I look forward to returning in the future.

Booked table for 5.30 ordered soon after starter arrived quickly now been almost an hour and more food has gone out the door for delivery than has made it to tables now 6.40 and still no service, first time visiting this restaurant and most definitely the last. Priority seems to be takeaway first, seated customers second..

If you want to be guaranteed the best flavoured, tasty food, then you must go to Tarana. You definitely will not be disappointed. I have tried several dishes and I can say that every dish I have had has lived up to and beyond my expectations. (Archari is one of my favourites) The staff are so friendly and welcoming too and always so happy to see you and acknowledge you when you are a regular. So you get real personal service with great quality food, Tarana is just the best Indian restaurant I have been to and their takeaways have given me something to look forward to during lockdown. That being said I really can not wait for them to open again, so that I can enjoy the amazing dine in experience that they offer. They truly are the best. You will not be disappointed. Take away service: Tarana have served up amazing food during the pandemic. Collection is always on time and hassle free and the staff make you feel so welcome. Food is sooo flavoursome and piping hot and as I write this my mouth is watering for our Tarana takeaway tonight!

Everything felt very safe and efficient ... and most importantly, the food was just as incredible as always! Cannot recommend highly enough 😃

We have even here several times just before lockdown, and have really enjoyed it each time.The food is very good quality, very tasty, and with a menu that is not just the usual.We came once when the entertainment was running too, and thought that was fun too.We look forward to another visit in the spring when things ease for everybody.Unfortunately I live just too far away to make use of Tarana for a take-away. For those who don’t, I encourage you to try their food. You won’t be disappointed.

We are so lucky to have Tarana local to us as it is hands down the best curry house we’ve ever been to. Jahan is such a lovely person, especially with all the food supplied to the NHS during this pandemic. He is always there with a smile to greet everyone. We recently enquired about allergens and he was more than happy to help. The food is always amazing, fresh, hot and ready on time. We’ve been eating here for about 10 years and will continue to do so. Keep it up Jahan!

Great service and the food was delicious went in paid wasn't ready the waiter said wait in your car and when food ready will bring out with in 5 minutes it was in the car being driving home thank you.

We needed a break from cooking following Christmas and New Year's and Tarana's was just the ticket. ALWAYS amazing food, but also lovely people, generous portions. We're just lucky we live locally, although we would travel for it - the best Indian, and our favourite. They're not serving at the restaurant at present (tier 4 ...), but superb takeaway.

Thank you Tarana Last night had a lovely takeaway with 50% off after it was so busy on New Year’s Eve and they couldn’t handle how busy it was. But woke up New Year’s Day with a lovely email offering me a discount so took advantage and that is what you call great customer service to rectify an overwhelming situation.

We ordered a takeaway on the morning of 31st Dec for 6 people, looking forward to a family NYE meal... our collection time was 6.45pm. We arrived to what can only be described as complete chaos, carpark was full and cars, vans parked all along the road on both sides, blocking traffic and even holding up a blue light ambulance. People were queing inside and out, they had completely underestimated what orders they had taken and were extremely un -prepared. Even the police turned up to calm down irate customers. After a 2 hour wait my sister finally managed to get our order! Once home, not only was the food cold but we were missing one curry, one rice and one naan bread, which had been paid for! This was a complete meal for one person.....obviously impossible to get hold of them, and pointless going back given the utter chaos. Usually this restaurant is very good, they need to control orders in future to prevent such chaos from occurring again. VERY DISAPPOINTING!!!

As a regular of this restaurant, we ordered a take away the night before New Years Eve but on arrival to collect it at the designated time, we found the road was packed full of cars queuing to get to the restaurant. It was so dangerous as there is no footpath on the road to Taranas. A very busy road. Chaos. The car park was overflowing with people queuing all over to get into Taranas to collect their food. After over an hour we left. As we left an ambulance was on the same road, we hoped it wasn’t due to the chaos on that busy road as it was so dangerous.

Phoned at 6, told to pick up at 7, arrived to a packed car park and cars parked on the road causing chaos. We then proceeded to queue for an hour in the car park in the freezing cold. Upon entering the restaurant we continued to wait a further 75 minutes, a woman entered caused a scene as her pick up time was 7.30, got her food 10 minutes later, at that point went up and demanded money back, the manager stalled for a further 15 minutes, and our food order was rushed through at that point. The manager gave us 20 pounds back, by way of apology but that barely covered the food that we found to be missing from our order. We appreciate that times are unusual at present, but when taking the orders they should of informed that there would be a serious delay, we can only assume that it was pure greed on there behalf that made them treat the customers in such a disgraceful way.

Great meal, great service and loved the Elvis tribute. Would certainly recommend. Wonderful atmosphere.

We live over an hour away, so unfortunately aren't able to visit as often as we would like, but once again the journey was well worth it. Really friendly, helpful staff and fantastic, flavoursome dishes. Just wish we lived closer! Caroline

Now reopened - Tarana continues to serve good quality food and are back to their high standards with their extensive menu. Friendly and helpful staff and in Jahan - one of the nicest and friendliest people you could meet who has been extremely generous in supplying meals to NHS and Care Homes during this difficult period.

Always enjoy a lovely welcome from all the staff, and then you get to eat..I find it an excellent experience as the staff always make sure you enjoy not just your food but the time you spend there...a credit to each and every member of the team Tarana .

We had a business lunch and the meal was wonderful. The menu is extensive and the atmosphere is very relaxed. The restaurant is also one of the most Covid secure venues I have visited.

pulling into the empty car park I had a slight qualm as to what I could expect. Intending only to have a drink a look at the menu indicated a great range of food and I was easily persuaded to eat. Hi,Last night we had a family meal for 2 adults and 2 children, it was my husband birthday. It was first time we went there. I regret I wasn't earlier, such a great bunch if people around us, such a beautiful atmosphere, greatocation, wonderful meal. It was so nice from the person how come to get our meal order, he advise us what to choose, he was so calm and friendly, wwaaww..the meal was so tasty.But the surprise was before to live the Restaurant, the people comes with a Birthday cake and candle, all Restaurant sang Happy Birthday. My wife and I went last night for the first time. It was very busy but first and foremast the team has taken every precaution they can to make it Covid Secure. The food and service were fantastic. I think I had the best Madras ever. Staff were attentive but not too much everyone very polite. We will definitely be back, many thanks to the whole team for a very nice evening and of course ensuring that you did everything too make sure as much as you can , we were safe. Very very impressed.

We absolutely love the Tarana at Turners Hill, the staff are incredible, always so helpful and lovely, providing an excellent service. The food is also incredible. I genuinely believe it is the best Indian restaurant around and wouldn't go anywhere else!

Having been a fan of the Tarana Restaurant over the years it was good to hear about the home delivery, as we are in Lockdown as vulnerable. We had our first delivery last night, which arrived exactly on the requested time. The delivery chap was friendly and smiling and the cash transaction was complete within a minute, no faffing around.The food we had ordered was all of the same excellent standard you receive at the Restaurant and pipping hot. I would definitely have it again and would readily recommend it to others.Well done Johan for this great service at this difficult time.

Visited last night for my Husband's birthday, with the family(6) people. Upon arrival the staff were very welcoming, the food was amazing. They spotted my husband had a card and wished him a Happy Birthday, Then at the end of the meal they arrived with a lovely cake and candles, Lovely surprise as I had not warned them in advance it was his birthday.

Visited yesterday evening with my girlfriend and my work friends who really wanted to witness the Tarana Experience.We attended when the restaurant opened and had drinks first at the bar area which was really a nice touch.We even had a tour of the kitchen where the food is prepared and cooked which was awesome and was spotlessly clean.For the whole night we were looked after by the amazing attentive staff so we could all relax and enjoy the night (there were 13 of us). The menu choice is huge and we all agreed that the food was amazing and flavoursome.The drinks choices were also huge with several of us sampling the delicious cocktails.Two of my colleagues were celebrating their birthday and birthday cakes were bought out by the staff so was a lovely touch!This is without doubt the best restaurant I have ever visited as the perfect venue/staff/food and drink choices. Give it a go for the perfect night out!

Had great meals and entertainment at this establishment but am shocked to see the hygiene score and ratings which have been awarded!! Hope the high reputation keeps up as had brilliant times here. The food has alway been a very good standard and the boss is a character .

Great food with variations and special requests catered for. Accepts late bookings and always made to feel welcome. Offers live acts for Entertainment in the week. Only criticism is that restaurant could be warmer as can be cold especially near the windows.

We have been to this restaurant more times than i can remember but never have we come away disappointed or had a bad meal.

Always find the food and service at Taranas to be excellent. Not disappointed when I visited with friends recently. The best Indian restaurant around and worth travelling out of town for.

I use the Tarana often, both for restaurant and take-away. The food is reliably good, staff are friendly, especially the manager, and the athmosphere is nice. The meal usually arrives fairly quickly so you don't have to wait for hours. They have entertainment on some nights which is usually fun, check out the website for belly dancing and tribute acts.

An amazing night out and a special way to spend New Years Eve.

Came here for New Years Eve (2018) and was persuaded to come again this year. Unfortunately I feel the resturant takes on more than it can cope with . Our meal was very late in arriving this being due to Staff just forgetting we were there and not taking our order . When our food finally arrived our plates were cold and the food only luke warm . I feel also the resturant loses the fact that it is a New Year Celebration and doesn’t use it to enhance the evening . So for me a very expensive disappointing evening !

Went to the Freddie Mercury evening on the 21st November for my retirement celebrations with work colleagues and what a fantastic evening we had. Jahan the manager is fantastic so helpful with my booking. The food and entertainment was excellent would not hesitate to recommend and will definitely go again.

We’ve been regular visitors here for a number of years. The standard of food and service has always been excellent hence we choose this restaurant over the vast number of competitors in the local area. The entertainment evenings are good fun but they book up quite quickly. Its hard to fault this place, I would highly recommend if you’re in the area

Went out for a delightful family meal on Saturday evening. The atmosphere and food was lovely, the family had a great time. Also the customer service was excellent.

We first went into Tarana the day it opened for lunch and were impressed promising ourselves we would return. We never thought it would be 11 years between visits but the restaurant has gone from strength to strength and it was easy to see why it is a success. We had planned for a quiet meal but it was a tribute night - not usually our thing at all - Elvis and Tom Jones! But the good humour of the customers, the quality of the tribute act and the food and service all contributed to a great evening. Special plaudits to the kitchen delivering excellent meals, not oily but full of flavour and generous portions. Service was professional and friendly and the whole atmosphere of the place was warm and welcoming. Highly recommended. Our return will be much sooner next time!

We got dinner as like the last week, price high but meal was shoddy . Tandoory chicken was again uncooked inside of the pieces , was disappointed. Worst curry I’ve ever had .

First time visit to this large, well run, packed out restaurant to see Cylvian as Tina Turner. The food was excellent but unfortunately not hot when it arrived. That was the only downside otherwise I would have said 5*. However the staff were really pleasant the atmosphere was great, everything was spotless and we had a smashing night out. We had prebooked but not pre-ordered. Drinks were reasonably priced too. The DJ was good, doubled up as a photographer and there was a good dancefloor which got busy.

First time my wife and I had been back to Tarana for a few years and it was a very good experience. The restaurant was full, all bar a table for 4 and with it a great atmosphere. The waiters and waitresses were attentive and alert to our needs. The food was faultless and importantly the place was warm.

Loved coming back here. Been a while but it made me realise what I had missed. You want authentic Indian cuisine then this is the place. Service and quality is excellent.

first visit here for Sunday Lunch...warm welcome, and shown to a very comfortable table on the edge of the restaurant, with views to the magnificent buffet that awaited us!

We’ve been going to this restaurant for quite a few years, and the family all love the food. We went to the restaurant, for a special birthday celebration, and left feeling like we’d have been better going elsewhere. We were 10 minutes early for the booking, and were sitting at the bar area waiting for our table. We were seated at the far side of the restaurant, and we were aware that the place was very busy. Drinks, poppadoms and pickles arrived. Then we waited, and waited, and waited. After half an hour with no one coming near our table, I got up and went to the bar, and asked if we could order some food. The waitress who was serving us, just disappeared & the last time I saw her, was when she held open the door as we were leaving. Once the food had been ordered, it arrived in less than 20 minutes. I have to say the food was excellent, and sadly it won’t be enough to make us want to go back. They either need to employ more staff to cope with busy evenings/ days or get staff in who know how to treat paying customers. Very disappointed with what was once our go to place for a curry.

We had lunch at Tarana last Sunday was excellent. It was many items of main , side and with delicious desserts . Services were great with friendly environment.

Fabulous meal last night at Tarana. Great food recommendations and the staff literally could not do enough to make sure everything was perfect. Would highly recommend and will definitely be back!

Had meals and take aways from Tarana before but never been to Sunday Buffet before until today! Will certainly be coming back! Food was delicious, hot, fresh and tasty. A great way to try dishes you may not of tried before!!

Visited here as a recommendation from a friend. Very busy which is normally a good thing but not when it’s seemingly at the cost of the quality of the food.

We visited for the first time yesterday, having previously eaten at the owner's Lingfield restaurants and found equally high quality and good service here. Half went for the Sunday buffet and half for a la carte and both were equally satisfied. Good food, good service.

My wife and I visited this restaurant this afternoon and on entering the restaurant we asked for a table for 6 with the rest of the party to join us minutes later. We arrived without a reservation and were asked to take a seat next to the bar without any manners of Please give us a minute or please or thank you. The rest of the party arrived after a few minutes and were also told ridley to take a seat. There were plenty of spare tables all dressed to accommodate us. We waited a little while and had to draw attention to a member of staff to seat us. We had the Sunday buffet which we enjoyed. I pulled down the window blind half way due to the sun blazing through the window then after 10 minutes a member of staff returned the blind to the upright position with consulting our party ( rude) . As I already stated we enjoyed our food but the welcome and the blind issue left me a little annoyed

It was mine and my sisters birthday and we had a large group and they were so accommodating and great at communicating through email. The food was amazing. I have intolerances and they were great at helping me with that. Very attentive! Will be coming back soon!

I have eaten at Tarana’s several times in the last few years and have had colleagues and friends who go there too. Although the pickle and poppadom tray is in my opinion the best I have ever had, at any curry restaurant, I have in the past not rated the curries themselves as ‘the best’. They have been good but not outstanding. However, in the last year I have come to rate the curries as very good indeed and I always look forward to going back there. On top of that the staff are great, courteous and friendly. Yes it is a big restaurant so it does get busy and noisy at peak times, but what restaurant doesn’t get busy on a Saturday night. I have been to the belly dancing and snake charming evenings, they are great and adds something different. I particularly rate the chicken tikka chilli achari on a skillet, to die for, in my opinion. Well done Tarana, and keep up the good work!!

Visited Tarana to celebrate our 10 year anniversary. From start to finish the staff made the night very special with flawless service. The food was amazing g/mouth watering and so flavoursome. The menu choice is huge as is the drinks menu. Try a Mojito as it’s just as good as what’s served up in the Caribbean and they use their own grown mint!

We visited last Saturday for my mothers birthday, 10 of us in total, this place was recommended by one of the guests. it was very busy, very nice atmosphere. They were very welcoming amongst all the rush and professional indeed. Food was absolutely amazing, best Indian i have had in a very long time. Will definitely be coming here more often. They even gave us flowers and air fresheners along with the bill!

I have eaten here at tarana turners hill restaurant a couple of times now. 1st meal was very good and efficient service. 2nd and 3rd time the standard of food was except able only to have a bad stomach and toilet issues the following day! Once I went to a buffet service on Sunday the food was excellent But Yet again I found a button witch appears to be off a chefs jacket hidden in the rice !!! I WILL NOT Return to Tarana Turners Hill I near future. I apologise for pointing out my concerns.

The restaurant is nicely laid out. The quality of the food was high. The curries servered were varied in style and flavour as well as spice. The waiters were helpful and attentive. I had the chicken jalfrezi which was very tasty with just the right amount of heat. The papadoms and Nahns were also full of flavour. The bill at the end was quite reasonable.

I attended last week for my birthday with my friends, and I was highly satisfied with the customer service I received and the food was to a great standard . Everyone enjoyed they’re time and we would love to visit again.

We had a nice dinner at Tarana Turners Hill Indian restaurant last week. It was my first day for alcoholic drinks . My daddy told it to a waiter and he has given it complementary, I was delighted. Food & services were excellent. Thanks to all staffs of Tarana.

We visited for an evening meal with friends and waited a few minutes as it was very busy. Sat in a corner table. We had poppadum starters, and various mains, and side dishes. With lovely Cobra beer and cider. The food is excellent, freshly prepared and very good value. Thoroughly enjoyable meal and service.

We were greeted by a friendly member of staff and was offered a seat in one of their comfy booths. Which were great as it offered privacy but at the same time you can still be part of the lovely atmosphere.

We traveled 45 minutes to dine here due to what we can only assume now to be false advertising. There’s a sign outside saying “award winning chef’ we pass here frequently on our way to Gatwick and the place always looks busy, so we decided to go this evening (Sunday) from the outside the building looks well kept, when you enter however, the inside tells a very different story, you first Moy greeted by a large flat screen tv with what looked exotic dancers on a stage we wondered if we had come to the right place, turns out the restaurant hosts ‘tribute nights’ and the particular one they were advertising was an ABBA one, we thought this odd for a restaurant who boasts award winning, this seems very tacky and more like a holiday park, on every it seems more like a night club, dark lighting booths to sit in, the floor looked dirty as did the windows, there were posters stuck everywhere, advertising these tribute nights on the walls stuck in the loos’s (which were dirty with toilet paper screwed up on the floor and body spray on the side)

We had few meals here with family, friends or for charity since their opening few years ago and never been disapointed.

The best Indian restaurant by far and by location. Stunning décor in well furbished location in a country setting. they have two others nearby within but this one is the jewel in the crown.

I travel alot for business and I will go out of my way to get my takeaway from the Tarana It is by far the best Asian food by a long way

Met with the Hardings for a gourmet feed, a birthday and thoughts to our Tel. The service is excellent, the choice of food, endless. Chicken dansak, sag also, garlic narn, washed down with Kingfisher. A real treat. Get there early as it's very popular and parking is at a premium, and they don't do a valet service.

Indian food is not my cuisine of choice, but we were recommended to go to Tarana's by our hosts, so could not easily refuse. It being entertainment night we were looking forward to see what was on offer. The restaurant was rather full as we arrived at 7.30pm. Very noisy with many birthday celebrations going on. There were a pair of fixed price menus available, £45.00pp or £55.00pp, with choices from the "a la carte" bill of fare. Poppadoms and relishes to open then a fixed mixed starter before your individual choices from the menu. All dishes were well presented and tasty. The entertainment turned out to be a belly-dancer and an Elvis impersonator. Both were great. When we asked for the bill the owner/manager knocked £10.00pp off the bill and gave us a digestif drink. Very civilised. We all agreed that it had been a great evening out and would go back in the future.

From the exterior, one cannot guess how extraordinary the food will be, not to mention the warm ambiance and pleasant service. The restaurant is quite large, and the servers were busy but quite attentive. My Chicken Tikka was deliciously juicy and flavorful, as were the saag bhaji, raita and peshwari naan. Portion size was enormous and I deeply regretted that I couldn't take leftovers home with me as I was taking a plane the next morning. If in the neighborhood, I will most definitely return here.

After a strange start finding the place locked we were let in and had the most excellent lunch. I think they thought no-one was coming for lunch as the weather was so awful. They only open from 12-2 for lunch and we arrived at 12.45. I had korai tiger prawn (the best I've ever had) with coconut rice and my friend had prawn korma with vegetable rice which she enjoyed. The kulfi ice cream was lovely too-not too sweet. Would definitely visit again.

The food was first class and the Chicken Shaslick was so succulent. The best I have ever tasted. We waited 30 mins and it was worth the wait, freshly cooked, and utterly delightful. The owner was there checking on every table that they were happy and the food was as they expected. It says on their card 'Voted the best Indian Resturant in the UK'. I endorse that.

I came here for dinner with my husband and two children. The restaurant is very spacious with good seating. They often have entertainment in the evenings and special nights. The service was a little slow but the food was fresh, hot and tasty. We will be back

Wow, what a gem! I was here last night for an office party, not knowing what to expect as it was booked by someone else, and I couldn't have been more pleased with the outcome! Great venue, obviously a lot of thought has gone into the decor, and the food was really amazing. We had free poppadoms with plenty of lovely dips/chutneys befpre the meal, I then had a Madras with just the right amount of head. The Paratha was great too. We got hot towels and chocolates at the end of the meal, which was a nice touch. Couldn't recommend it enough!

Dropped by on the off chance of a table, turned out to be abba tribute night..... Excellent band, great atmosphere, food and host Jahan was amazing... Can't recommend enough....

Booked for 6 people, a birthday celebration. We all had a fantastic night! The first was amazing!!!! The drinks were flowing, we were quite loud but as the place is so big we didn’t make a nuisance of ourselves. The staff were so good... friendly and accommodating. They even bought out a cake with sparklers which was a great touch. All in all a fabulous night!

Visited here last night and just had to write a review. Menu is so huge I worried that the quality wouldn’t be as good but I was so wrong. The food was delicious, truly delicious. I will definitely be coming back
