Tap and Kitchen in East Northamptonshire

We visit here once a month and it really is the best in the area. Amazing selection of beers and the burgers/steaks are incredible! Outdoor covered seating is a great addition also!

We arrived just before our booking time and were warmly greeted by the front of house. We were seated straight away, on a great table over-looking the water, the covered area outside offers all the breeze and ambience without direct sunlight. Although most tables were taken the spacing meant it didn't really feel busy at all, there was no overheard conversations, perfect in my judgement. Drinks were ordered and arrived promptly, I need to say the cranberry cooler was just the thing on a warm day like today. Scallops and prosciutto were the chosen starters and both were beautifully presented, the scallops were cooked to perfection, and melted in the mouth. For mains we had a Caesar salad and a Halloumi sandwich. The spiced tomato was a treat in the sandwich. Of course there was an obligatory side of fries, and these were top notch. As this was a leisurely lunch we decided to indulge in dessert; cheesecake and poached pear soon arrived, both delicious and perfect sized portions. We quite fancy the recipe for the cheesecake. Great food, lovely staff, relaxed atmosphere, totally unrushed lunch.

This was our first visit but won’t be our last !We particularly liked that advance reservations were encouraged as we’re very aware that otherwise “ overbooking” I.e. no social distancing precautions prevail in lots of venues !Safety of customers & staff is obviously being taken very seriously in Tap & Sink ( unlike some places we’ve been ).The food was good quality & very fresh , staff very good & coping brilliantly in still difficult circumstances.It’s a shame some customers do not think before they “ slag off” venues, as some previous reviews, after all would it really be too much bother to pre - book rather than turn up & moan because already full to maximum capacity for safe distancing !,

Used to go fairly often but were refused entry at 4pm today as they were "stopping walk-ins" when asked why the barman said they "want to get ready for tonight". Despite only wanting a drink they would not allow us in. This is bizarre for an industry forced to close for the best part of 18 months and they will have all the time to get ready when they have no customers. Went to the Kings Head in Wadenhoe instead which was really busy and is a better location.Tbh the tap & kitchen is pretentious and expensive anyway. Won't be returning EVER. Deserves to close.

Lovely indoor/ outdoor setting . Gorgeous food. Excellent seared tuna Nicoise and burgers in particular. Side dishes very yummy. Slow to take drinks orders but otherwise extremely helpful and prompt. Very good wheelchair access and facilities for our son. Will def recommend and return. Need to stock soya milk pls!

Meal was great. The mince on toast is a bit random but we had to sample just to satisfy our intrigue. I wouldn't waste your money on this starter but all other food was delicious. Great beers too and the service was exceptional.

10/10 every time! Visited for the millionth time this month and brought my friend along for her first experience, there were plenty of tables outside as we came at a quiet time but when it’s busy I definitely recommend booking so as not to be disappointed as this place is super popular.It was well managed as always, the service was amazing and we had a few drinks and some light lunch (as light as it can be when it includes their amazing Mac and cheese!). The Caesar salad was out of this world. We had a couple of drinks on the sunny terrace and the venue is so well looked after with a great team, the quality of the food matches the quality of service they offer. I can’t think of a better place to eat in the area and we always have the best experience when we come here. Can’t wait to come back! (Probably next week…)

Decided to go for a drink here with a couple of friends as the weather has gone back into summer and the idea of a few cold pints beside the river in this heat was perfect,However!!!!This was not the case , we turned up at 1 pm on Friday and was told there is only one table and that is indoors I don’t know about you but I don’t come out in the summer to sit inside.After telling the chap where to go we all walked out but as walking out we noticed a huge stack of bench’s on the other side of the bar , seriously Tap sort this out as you are letting yourselves down in regards to running a bar near a river .Won’t return!

Just recently moved to the area and this was already my second visit, which in itself is unique as I like to try new places and dishes. I returned here though as it is just fantastic on many levels. The staff are attentive and prompt, the beers (brewed within metres of the restaurant) are very delicious and the food is freshly cooked and full of flavour. Highly recommended.

Went to eat after reading the reviews and with it being a leisurely 10 minute walk from our hotel. Good beers on tap from their brewery. Food was good with a reasonable price tag. Staff very attentive. Nice area to sit outside after dinner too.

We were sat outside with our two dogs which was lovely due to a warm evening. Food and service was spot on. Would highly recommend.

Our first visit to this place even though it's only 15mins away. Amazing food, excellent service and very reasonably priced. Great atmosphere. We will definitely be back.

One of my favourite places to have a beer when I’m in the area, all but one of the beers on tap are gluten free so I literally have a choice. I had a very excellent pint of NVB Bitter and my friend a very excellent pint of a light citrusy beer. I have rated them 4 for 1 reason only, we enquired about GF chips to have as a snack with our pint. We were told yes no problem, but then told they were fried in the same oil as everything else including things containing wheat flour. This leaves a huge risk of cross contamination and the possibility to make me unwell. We went without! It is a huge shame that a pub which has such a huge range of GF beer cannot manage a few GF chips. There were other GF items on the menu for lunch, but we only wanted a snack.

We had a lovely meal here on Saturday 26th, a bit breezy outside but we moved inside after our starters. The staff were more than happy to accommodate given the change in weather. I’m coeliac and had a great choice which also included little touches of GF soy sauce on the sashimi not to mention being able to taste my partners beer!!However, I was more than happy with my expertly made pornstar martini…We had the sashimi to start and then stonebass and duck for our mains. All excellent and very tasty. Good fresh fish is often hard to find. Can’t wait to be back….

By far the best restaurant in Oundle & the surroundings! Just had Seared Kings Scallops & Mediterranean Stone Bass and it was absolutely spot on! Fast service, friendly staff and amazing views (especially the sunset)! It is my go to place when any of my out of town friends are visiting!

Great ambiance- sat in the patio - next to the river :place was busy and the staff very friendly and helpful. The menu looked good but had only one marked as GF. The young helpful waitress went and clarified what could be amended to GF. Turns out most of them could. Yey! I picked the crayfish sandwich with chips .. The chips were scrumptious the sandwich like eating cardboard.. The bread hard white and dry- as was the crayfish -edible washed down with a large Pinot :) With a little thought this could have been fab- toast and butter the bread- or drizzle some olive oil on it or better still find another brand- there’s plenty options available now. Sadly won’t be back.

Brought 13 members of our walking group here yesterday. We had excellent service with great attention to detail. The serving staff were so well trained being attentive to our requirements and monitoring our tables, checking we were happy with the food and siding off quickly when we finished.We felt that we were valued customers.

Not the most atmospehric of venues but the food is top quality and mostly local. The beers come from the next door microbrewary. The service was good though one waiter was a little bit too familiar. The steak (both of us had) was full of flavour, easy to cut and big (none of that trying to find it under a load of chips / veg.Great beer selection. Highly recommended

Fantastic from entering to leaving.Having eaten at Tap and Kitchen a few years ago and not being overly impressed I can say visiting this time has completely changed my opinion and made me desperate to return.The service was sensational. Our waiter Rhys could not do enough for us.The food was delicious. We will definitely be returning.

The Ta & Kitchen really is something special.Came here for a dinner with friends, and can’t fault it. Great menu, food beautifully prepared, lovely setting, The decor and atmosphere are terrific, and the staff couldn’t have been more friendly, welcoming and helpful. If you’re looking for somewhere to eat out in the Oundle area, you won’t do better.

So happy we found this little gem! Delicious food, variety of drinks, and very friendly staff. Will definitely be coming back soon and recommending it to our friends.

What a lovely venue! We sat outside next to the water, watching fish and ducks. It was outside as the weather was gorgeous but not under parasols. It is a covered outside area. The menu is from locally sourced ingredients and changes daily. The vegan option was lovely and the waitress did say the oil, the chips were cooked in, also had other non vegan items fried in it. Really lovely atmosphere and no being rushed at all.

We hadn't been here before and thought it would be nice as it was a sunny day. We had a table overlooking the water and was very pleasant.My husband had the burger, it looked fresh and he said it was very tasty. The meat looked very good.I had the stonebass which I had never heard of before with salad. It was actually very nice and very tasty. Healthy as well.It's not a cheap place but good quality.We will be back!

Enjoyable Saturday evening meal here, with tasty food - the tuna sashimi and mushroom risotto were excellent, and very good service too. Reasonably priced wines, available by the glass and the carafe. Recommended!

Been 3 times in the last 4 weeks each time as delicious as the next, highly recommended, have been with friends and family beef burger fantastic and the veg burger also delicious, we also love the fabulous crispy chips

Well what a first meal to have indoors with the change of regulations on 17th May. Atmospheric interior and very attentive staff. Seating was suitably socially distanced and there was a lovely buzz in the restaurant at lunchtime. Fab menu - Suffolk chicken ravioli nicely al dente and amazing burrata for starters. Miso glazed aubergine and lamb shawarma for mains and we shared a tiramisu with a couple of espressos. A decent wine list too. This meal will be hard to beat going forwards. Shame we don't live nearby!

Warmly greeted as always, great outdoor seating covered and distanced from other diners. Service was excellent- help with menu and didn’t want for anything (sometimes had 3 waiting staff which was surplus). Love this venue. Recommend plant burger. Please improve chips...

Lovely riverside setting, gorgeous food and great staff who are always so friendly and attentive. Had a super lunch at The Tap & Kitchen today, and also had their beef roast dinner on Sunday, the best roast dinner I've had in ages! Absolutely wonderful. And their cookie dough dessert is amazing! A must try!

I visited with my partner last night and we sat in the gazebo on the terrace. The views are beautiful along the river and the gazebo kept us nice and dry from the rain so it was still a comfortable, cosy visit.The food was amazing as always, the menu is a little more condensed at the moment understandably but most of the classics are still there, such as the salt beef sandwich, the T&K cheeseburger and the mac n cheese. I had the burger and my partner had the plant based burger, both came with perfectly crispy chips and coleslaw! We had a side of macaroni cheese and managed to smash it all between us! It’s the best macaroni cheese around, for sure!For pudding, we went for the milk chocolate cookie dough and it was perfectly baked with raspberry ice cream on the side. Amazing.FOH and the team in the kitchen continue to provide an all round exciting dining experience and I can’t wait to see Tap and Kitchen back to life inside too! 10/10 as always team!

We were on a 8m hike round Oundle and came across this Pub half way round ... we arrived just before noon so were turned away as it opens at 12. However the friendly manager took pity on us as we left as there was already guests drinking and served us a deliciously cool pint. We scanned the menu and it had some tasty treats so we're heading right back there in a few days time to try the food out!

My family had planned a small surprise celebration for my 70th birthday. Great food such an varied interesting menu, hard to choose. Very friendly helpful staff especially towards my grandchildren. Thank you for a memorable day

We thought we would brave the cold during the first week of opening following lockdown and whilst sitting outside was a little chilly, the welcome was exceptionally warm and the food was amazing and piping hot. I tried the sole sandwich - what a fantastic addition to the menu. The menu is more limited than usual at the moment, but that is only to be expected whilst service is restricted to outside, but there was still plenty of choice. The chips and mac & cheese were both hot and delicious. For pudding, we had the treacle and pecan tart which was delectable. The staff were great and the service was to the normal high standard. The manager also took time out to say hi. I am sure it’s been such a difficult year for the hospitality industry and it is so great to see one of our favourite restaurants come back to life - there was truly a buzzing atmosphere. It really did feel like life was returning to normal and I can’t wait to visit again.

decided that as the rules had been relaxed a bit we would meet up with some friends and have dinner, it had to be the Tap and Kitchen! I've been craving their burger for so long and it did not disappoint! everything was perfect, we were greeted at the door like old friends, after signing in with the track and trace (which couldn't be easier) we were shown to our table and given menus, we ordered some drinks which arrived promptly, my friend had a amaretto sour which looked fantastic. I had one of the locally brewed beers, actually that's a lie I had several! My better half had a virgin martini (she was driving) which Jack, who makes great cocktails made and brought out to us. eventually I had to use the facilities which were lovely and clean and there's also plenty of hand sanitiser dotted around the building. We all ordered food that we had been craving, I went with the burger, my better half had a ciello chicken pizza which looked delicious, our friends had a salt beef sandwich which he tells me he had been dreaming of for weeks and a florentine pizza which she said was fantastic. pudding was amazing we had a dark chocolate cookie dough and sticky toffee pudding for the ladies and us gentlemen had a after dinner frangelico which if you've never had one you're missing out it's like Ferrero Roche in a glass! we had a wonderful, relaxed evening with good company, great food and atmosphere with excellent service and drinks! what more could you ask for? we will most definitely be back!

First time we have been out in a very long time, thank you from the brand new member of staff, she did a great job to the regular team who provided everything wonderfully, (apart from some sunshine!!).Revisited some old friends ‘Release the Chimps’ to drink, and The Salt Beef one, plus a new Battered Fish Sandwich, all were excellent. We were lucky enough to be able to get a table on 12 April. So excited to go to my favourite Oundle restaurant. It didn’t disappoint. They’d been closed for so many months yet the welcome was warm. It was so good to be back. Drinks orders were taken quickly and drinks delivered perfectly. Yep it was going to be a good evening. The staff were attentive. We put our food order in, it was read back to us to confirm everything was correct. We sat and enjoyed our drinks. Staff checked on us. Had a catch up with the Manager. Everything was perfect. Food came and was absolutely spot on. Couldn’t fault it. Totally understand why the menu isn’t as wide ranged as it was before. To be honest the choice was more than enough. Can’t wait to go again. I’ve loved this place since it opened - times have been so difficult for hospitality but the Tao and Kitchen have come back better and stronger than before.

The food and drink is lovely and staff too. However, as soon as we entered the manager was rude upon our booking. After this my friends were later shouted at even after following covid rules. The approach from the manager was rude and invasive and not what i expect from front of house staff whether that be manager or front of house.

I really cannot thank all the staff at the T&K enough. We approached the venue regarding a lunch time wedding breakfast meal, with 11 days notice as another venue had cancelled on us!Dan and his team couldn't be more accommodating. Their communication before the event was amazing and they totally put our minds at ease. They took what was a very stressful and exhausting situation and dealt with it perfectly. From the excellent varied menu choice, wine and cocktail selection & amazing staff I cannot fault this place.They sectioned off a corner of the restaurant, decorated our tables and made it as private as the could in an open plan restaurant.The food was excellent and staff were even better. They totally accommodated to our needs for our special day and we cannot thank them enough. We had previously not visited this place but it will now be a firm favourite.All this aside they have strict Covid 19 practices in place that were communicated well in advance and then updated to us as the government updated the UK. This is also well communicated within the restaurant. Thank you so much celebrating our special day with us ❤ we will be back soon.

Our first trip out post 2nd lockdown. As always the food was uncomplicated and cooked to perfection. Scallops steak and poached pair, what's not to love. However it was the service that made our evening the best..Will, our waiter was simply delightful, not over fussy, but great attention to detail, making it an easy enjoyable evening, thank you so much x

Lovely place, really really nice food and lots of good options on the menu and excellent value for money. Warm and friendly staff the only thing that bothered us was hearing the manager barking orders and talking down to the team which made us feel uncomfortable. We were sat by the bar so could probably hear more but every time he came over to the bar he made snide comments to the staff (who work doing a great job) about things not being done properly/missing with no discretion and a very condescending tone, it could easily be heard by us and probably other tables which was uncomfortable. Not only did it make us feel for the staff but it flustered them and probably made them make further mistakes. But you should definitely visit food was great.

This is a 10 minute walk from the town centre, and well worth the effort. Oundle seemed fairly tranquil and quiet, but this place seemed to be where all the missing people were. Food was excellent, and so was the service, and everything was well priced. Great looking bar area, but unfortunately closed off due to Covid restrictions. With a stylish bar and restaurant, this is clearly the place to go in Oundle, and we were not disappointed.

Always go here with friends for a drink it’s a really good atmosphere , nice setting , had good a great times and the food is lovely but small portions as it’s quite fancy, I do leave hungry and it’s not the cheapest place . Really great service , great Covid service and recommend for a drink

Went here for dinner recently as it was our anniversary and wanted a special night out. I can’t say there was anything amazing about the place but had a nice enough evening. Do book as it was very busy for a Wednesday eve and when booking they said they'd want the table back later. Service a bit slow as it was hard to get staff attention from where we were sat in the corner plus the food was not that hot, and a bit pricey for what we had. I had the hangar steak and it was just cubes of meat plonked on a plate with no finesse in presentation. Honeyed parsnips a bit hard and tasteless too. Nothing complaint-worthy just 'ok'. Very pleasant staff so no issues there. Just feel they could do with a bit of good competition in the area so they are kept on their toes as I feel they may partly be so busy as we struggled to find many other decent options - Dexters only seems to be open Thurs to Sun at the moment

We eat here very regularly. The food is great, they’re very accommodating and the beer and wine selection is first class. I saw a review that said that they would not leave things off / alter a dish- that isn’t true. Everything is fresh and they adapt it as you request (within reason!)They have been excellent with a Covid adherence, and we feel safe eating and drinking there.

Great food, good beers. Lovely location right by peaceful patch of the river witha great garden area and a patio. Loads for kids and us alike. Recommended for sure

Very impressed with the food and location. We travelled here to meet up with family for the first time this year, Lovely atmosphere despite Covid restrictions. Hard to choose from all the tempting dishes on the menu and wow what wonderful chips.

Anyone that gives this place less than 5 stars needs to check themselves. The food here is outstanding! The staff were all so incredibly friendly and the service was also outstanding. We were all offered a free drink as there was a slight delay on our desserts, you can’t argue with that. Everything about this place deserves the 5 stars, if not more! Yes the place is more expensive than your average restaurant but you’re paying for quality, but also quantity because we all found the portion sizes to be more than generous. This is the perfect place for that special occasion and I would definitely return.

Booked for 4 people to celebrate my wife's birthday. Even under covid conditions the atmosphere was lovely with excellent service. Can recomend the pork schnitzel.

The staff were both pleasant and efficient - making dining here an instantly welcoming and relaxing experience. The food was absolutely delicious from starter to coffee. The side dishes were DIVINE. The butternut squash side dish was perfect. The chips - crunchy then fluffy. I don't often stay for everything but the atmosphere was great. There was a great ambience outside but we chose to sit in a booth which was cosy and conducive to a relaxed and sociable occasion. Much needed. Fantastic evening.

Party of 4 for lunch today including one vegetarian. Starters & mains all excellent - gnocchi, duck, steak, and trout as mains with neat tasty accompaniments and one side included in the price. Fresh tasty non-alcoholic cocktails too! Prompt friendly service, and a nice ambience by the brook, which leads to the Nene (we ate inside, but nice outdoor set-up). Loads of space for keeping that 2-metre separation.

A very safe one-way system, plenty of outdoor space, and a lovely food and beer selection await you at Tap & Kitchen! We had a relaxing lunch by the water with two great Nene Valley beers. The shop is right next door and is also worth a visit, though on the day we went you couldn't enter, just order from a gentleman at an outdoor counter. Back to the food! My partner had the salt beef sandwich and I had the chicken caesar salad. Both were delicious as were the chips that came with my partner's sandwich that I couldn't resist sampling myself! If you're heading out Oundle way, Tap & Kitchen is worth a stop for a drink, snack, or meal!

It was both ours and our friends first time and T& K really quirky location but really good in person. The food was excellent, a lot of tempting dishes it was hard to pick the best, all of your food was delicious and Will who was our waiter was really lovely and had a great sense of humour. The tables are all nicely distanced for the current Covid situation so we felt really comfortable. Overall a really lovely night will be recommend to friends and family.

Came here on a recommendation and overall we weren’t disappointed. The service was great, really friendly and warm and the food arrived quickly. Lamb thingy was fab. Pork belly was a bit tough otherwise this would’ve been 5 stars. Great range of beers from NVB next door was fun trying a few half-pints of different options. It’s a quirky place and looks amazing in the summer sun outside, unfortunately it was fully autumn when we visited - in August!! We are thinking of moving to the area and the staff were happy to chat about places to look out for, they were relaxed and not rushing about, created a good vibe. Desserts were amazing!

Truthfully, I cannot put in to words how great this place is!Staff-Every member of staff greeted us during our visit and they were all extremely friendly and accommodating throughout. They were all enthusiastic and made us feel really welcome.Decor-It's a brilliant design and there is adequate space between tables to adhere to social distancing.Food-One of the nicest meals we've ever eaten! It's evident how much care and attention is put in to the making of the food. It is homemade food at its best. We had the chickpea salad and sweet potato gnocchi. There is honestly something for everyone and plenty of choice for diners with dietary requirements. The team put you at ease as well in regards to dietary requirements as they know what they are talking about and have obviously undertaken training to ensure that your needs are met.The gnocchi was first class, the flavours were amazing, definitely 10/10 meal.I cannot wait to visit again and have not stopped talking about how brilliant it is since visiting.

I visit there every now and again.i haven’t tried the food yet but I here it’s nice and not over priced.The drinks are pricey tho but the location is nice , my only gripe is the seating area over the river definitely needs some steps as stepping down from the boardwalk is to steep.

Had a lovely lunch, the weather was terrible and rained all day, couple of hours eating and drinking (they wanted the table back) was very enjoyableThe locally brewed beer is exceptional, the food menu is changed daily with plenty to choose from for a lunch menu.

Delicious Sunday lunch with excellent service. Hadn’t eaten out for a while but tables were well distanced and the environment managed to feel safe whilst still friendly and welcoming.

Visited here numerous times now and always enjoy it. Particularly enjoyed the hanger steak which was a huge portion this time! Also the Koby was very tasty and unusual. Will be back again very soon...

We visited the Tap and Kitchen for our first meal out since lockdown, and had a truly wonderful experience and felt reassured by their covid-health systems in place. The food was top notch, every dish from start to finish was delicious, including the very tasty homemade sorbets- recommend! We felt well looked after and everything was done very carefully with respect to COVID reauirements, good social distancing in place and well organised system. Sitting out for a drink by the river pre-meal was also lovely. Definitelly recommend for delciious food and a safe place to return post-pandemic.

We had heard about the Tap and Kitchen from a number of sources and am pleased to report that in general the positive reviews are justified. We arrived for our first visit and found the easily after our drive from Northampton. We stayed inside to eat though there was plenty of space outside and a separate area for those just wanting a drink. A positive start was that water was provided unsolicited upon arrival which I think all restaurants should do but some sadly don't. To eat from a fixed price menu I had beef carpaccio followed by lamb sharwama while the better half had udon noodles followed by the Sunday roast pork. Of the four dishes tries all were well received albeit a couple of tweaks could have made to the roast to make the meal outstanding. It could have done with some more cabbage and the roast potatoes were quite hard, maybe because it was quite late in the afternoon. The stand out dish for me was the beef carpaccio which was exceptional. I would definitely recommend a visit and we will be returning. In all the food cost £42 for the 2 of us and with a couple of drinks the total bill was in the region of £56.

We were looking for a friendly place to spend an evening which also provided good food and lots of atmosphere. So glad we decided on The Tap and Kitchen. The weather was glorious and because of Covid-19 we sat outside. Such a beautiful, historical and stunning setting! The food was fabulous (starters of Moroccan Chick Pea and Caesar Salad) followed by Hanger Steak and, of course, hand cut chips!! Drank local beer (so local they brew it next door!) and a very refreshing French Rose wine. Everyone was so friendly and knowledgeable about the menu (both drinks and food). Our little dog was catered for with fresh water (without us even asking) and Will was incredibly helpful throughout, as well as his colleague Georgia! We can’t recommend this place enough. Oh and they cater very well for people who have dairy and wheat/gluten issues! 5 stars ⭐️ Tap and Kitchen!

A warm welcome as always from the front of house, which really helps you feel comfortable right away. The food is of excellent quality and perfectly presented. It’s always a treat to go to T&K.

This was my first time eating out since lockdown, when booking asked for a specific table indoors as its location and design should of afforded us a secluded safe dining space which we were given, but was then very surprised despite it being very quiet indoors that another booking was seated at a table considerably less than 2 metres away when there was no need for it when we were part way through our meal.I understood before booking that staff may not be wearing masks however what I did not anticipate was the waiter constantly leaning over me from the side instead of placing the dishes at one end and letting us pass them down which we were trying to do. This was possibly caused by the fact there was not sufficient room between us and the nearest table for him to position himself in a safe manner. It was the same when ordering, instead of the waiter being able to stand centrally at the end of our table at a suitable distance he was forced to stand over me due to lack of space. A minor alteration to indoor seating allowing a safe distance between the tables for waiting staff to position themselves safely is needed. The food was good as it usually is but unfortunately you have now lost a customer as it also took far too long for us to get someone to take our dessert order after being given the menus. The table next to us who arrived when we were part way through dinner had had 2 courses and left before we managed to order dessert! The first 2 courses were served promptly.

Well.....what can I say? My partner and I visited on a Monday evening to sit outside for dinner and it was amazing! The hanger steak was perfect, the chips were some of the best I have ever had. The gin cocktails were perfect and the ambience and atmosphere were spot on. Its not the cheapest place, but it is well and truly worth the price! A must visit.

we stumbled upon this bar and kitchen. Food is amazing. The main highlight is the garden and the staff. Particularly Will B. Attentive and on point. He even helped us get home with a great cab service! Cannot recommend highly enough. Thanks Will B!

Called for lunch today. Scallop starters just delicious. Burger and chips really tasty. Beer excellent. However, what was equally impressive was the all important COVID-19 related procedures. Waiting staff regularly sanitised their hands and quietly but firmly ensured guests followed the rules. We were very happy with our table on the rear patio and felt quite comfortable in our first dining out experience post lockdown.

This is what Sundays are made for! Sitting by the wharf, enjoying some brilliant food, drinks and company .. all served up by the excellent staff We sat down for some drinks in the sun, but once we saw the Sunday lunch coming out had to get involved. The Covid restrictions are all very clear and all the tables well spaced out, without loads of signs in your face, which makes it enjoyable. It was exceptional, our first meal out in 5 months and I will not be waiting that long again to come back to this amazing place. T+K is an absolute gem to have! Appreciate it and support it

One of my first meals out in months and as a vegetarian who was contemplating coming back to meat - this place absolutely did a great job of tempting me back in to the fold. I had the scallops, hanger steak with a side of Mac & Cheese and tiramisu to finish - there were absolutely no complaints, the presentation and flavour in every aspect of this meal was fantastic. Would personally suggest you try the Mac and cheese as a compulsory side to anything you buy here, it’s the best I’ve had. The staff were great, attentive, friendly and most importantly, knowledgable about their menu and able to give evident personal recommendations. The food itself was in a league of its own and the location was amazing. We dined on the terrace - which I would recommend if it’s a nice day because the views and the atmosphere is relaxed but just all in all a lovely experience. The social distancing measures were clear and great, but also not too in your face that you couldn’t enjoy your experience of dining out. Thanks so much for a wonderful evening T&K. The pictures don’t even do the flavour and quality of this restaurant justice to be honest. I would come here again in a flash.

Came in night of my birthday 21st July with Sarah my partner. We were served by a fabulous young lady calledShe was very knowledgeable and a foody like us, so enthusiastic about the food, an impressive start. We knew what we have prior to arriving but the scene was set. I had Hanger steak m/r, wow was it good!Proper chips, basic fare but WOW. Sarah had Lamb Swarma I think, possibly wrong. My steak was certainly in the top 6 I have ever eaten. I have rated a lot of steaks from a steakhouse in New Jersey to Gary Rhodes Le Meridien Beach in Dubai. Right up there was the Hanger Steak!Pudding, only pud I eat mainly because of texture is Sticky Toffee pudding, WOW again. Sarah the same result with Eaton Mess. Recurring theme here, great surrounding, smiling welcoming staff, reasonable pricing. I always end my reviews, scored 9/10, would I go back again, yep can’t wait!!

I booked a table for two adults and two children. On booking my mobile and email was taken. I received a text and email confirming my booking. On arrival hand sanitiser is provided to put on before entry. It was a mild evening so had the choice to sit outside. We choose to sit outside. Service was good the staff polite and friendly. For starters we choose crab and beef carpaccio both tasted amazing and presented nicely. The children had bacon without the bun, chips and t & k burger for the older child. Both of them cleaned their plates and enjoyed the food. We had wolf fish and lamb both tasted amazing and again the food looked really appetising. Through out the restaurant are hand sanitising points and in the toilets and tables a QR code to scan to track your details. The doors in the restaurant are open for air to circulate. I would recommend for anyone that has yet to go out for a meal. We all felt comfortable for our first meal out and will be going again. Thanks T&k !

Friendly staff, excellent drinks and an amazing meal in a restaurant with a fantastic vibe. This was our first meal out since lockdown lifted and we are incredibly pleased with where we chose to go for it. Will be returning very soon.

I visited this place with my wife on 9th July, I can honestly say I don’t know what the lady was complaining about social distancing rules, the bar area was clearly marked out, tables were spaced out correctly,outside tented area for drinkers, outside tables all spaced correctly, sanitiser stations all over the place. I felt very safe. The fact is that distancing measures were subtle, but obvious so that it didn’t ruin the experience of dining out. All I can say is well done to the staff at this difficult time. By the way the food and service was great!

We used to live local to T&K so have been many many times. Even after moving farther a field we regularly pop in, be it for Friday evening drinks, or a Saturday dinner. Whether you want to just have a beer with a friend, or dinner with the family it’s just the best place, with such a friendly atmosphere. The beer, cocktails, food, and definitely the desserts, are top notch, and we love coming back time and time again. There’s nowhere else like T&K, and we love it. My late Mum loved it too and so much so we even had her wake at T&K, which was a first for them but as usual, they bent over backwards to accommodate our requests and made the occasion just perfect. Mum would have loved every second of it. Thanks as always T&K, see you next weekend.

Absolutely loved my visit. My husband and I have been eating here regularly for several years now. It was good to see some familiar faces and as always the food was fantastic, the lamb in particular was amazing.There were less tables (social distancing) and hand sanitizers on the walls for the customers to use.I will most definitely be returning.

There are no set out rules. No app or paperwork to fill in on arrival, so no tracing possible. Nothing was explained.

This was the third restaurant I have tried since lockdown ended. The other two have been joyless experiences and I was apprehensive that this would be the same. I needn't have worried. The atmosphere was great, the staff really friendly and the food and drinks superb. The safety measures are in place but you do not feel as if they intrude on your evening which is just the right balance. We had such a good night out and were relieved to find somewhere where we can feel some normality again. We will definitely be going back.

Four of us visited to celebrate a friends 50th. Food was delicious and plenty of it - sirloin steak cooked to perfection as was everything else.All social distancing measures in place which made us feel completely safe, whilst service was not compromised. A thoroughly enjoyable evening during these unusual times

What can I say, after not visiting The Tap for over 3 months, it was such good news to hear it was opening again. A table was booked for dinner. I admit I was nervous and apprehensive - what would it be like, what measures would be in place for the safety of the staff and customers. Would it be different. I needn’t have worried. Perspex screens were in place, tables positioned so as to allow for social distance, hand sanitiser stations were in place through out the restaurant. The food as before was absolutely delicious, couldn’t fault it, scallops followed by the wonderful hanger steak. Cooked beautifully. Service was great. Such friendly staff. A brilliant team, a brilliant restaurant. It’s good to have you back. Still my favourite place in Oundle ❤️

This was the first time we have eaten out since pubs, restaurants and cafes have been allowed to reopen post lockdown. My husband and I went for lunch with our 6 year old. Food, as ever, was quality. We both had the Salt Beef Sandwich served with chips and won't need to eat again today as it was so filling! The restaurant felt very spacious having removed some tables and perspex screens have been used discreetly where needed. Hand sanitisation points are plentiful. Booking was really easy by phone and a confirmation text was received too. It all seems very carefully thought through giving the perfect balance of safety and enjoyable meal out. Great food, atmosphere, service and setting. Recommend the t&k burger, not the cheapest but good quality locally sourced ingredients, as with most of the menu.
