Tandoori in Southampton

Such a lovely visit with good friends. Great ambience, crisp clean linen , polished glasses. Staff very welcoming, allowing time to chat, meet the staff, meet the chef. The crowning glory was The Food. Beautifully cooked and served. We pre-ordered KULCHI LAMB - Whole Leg of Lamb . The delicious Jus, vegetable curry, salad and naan was first class. Treated like royalty and very much appreciated. Highly recommend.

Had a great night last night with friends, nice cold pints of Kingfisher followed by a whole leg of lamb with pilau rice veg curry and naan breads, really lovely meal to share between 4, and good starters to would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Food was no where near as good as normal, tasted very bland and chicken wasn’t nice. No naan bread in the order either.

Great Indian food best I have had in a while :)

We were really disappointed with our order. The delivery time was longer than stated, our rice was missing, the food was cold and the chicken was dry and chewy. When I rang about the rice they didn’t want to talk they just asked for the address and said its on the way. 20 minutes after receiving our food the rice turned up. Cold dinner and not nice at all. Disappointing as people rave about this place but we had an unpleasant experience.

We ordered a meal to arrive at 18.45 as it was for friends who were coming as we were going out. The food arrived 30 mins early which was inconvenient as our friends had not arrived so I had to keep it hot for them. The food was excellent and very enjoyable they said. It was just a shame that the delivery time was incorrect to the order time.

Lack of seasoning,very dry,portions not great,used to go here a lot but no more after that,very poor!

This Restaurant was a nice surprise. The food was very good and the Service too. Only in Southampton for a one night stay and was passing so popped in. The Poppadums were hot and the chutneys were very good. I had a lamb balti which had plenty of meat ( not typically the case) with some sag also and plain rice. All very tasty served on a nice hot plate. Including a Lager I paid about £30.

We were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived. A delicious meal, lovely staff - lots of regulars there which is always a good sign. We will be booking up again soon hopefully. Would recommend.

food was wrong for the 3rd time ended up with nothing to eat and my partners food was terrible just eat after a week four messages only refunded 11 pond of 33 so so bad avoid

Following a recommendation from an Indian friend, my visit to Tandoori Restaurant in Southampton exceeded all expectations. It's undoubtedly one of the best Indian meals I've ever enjoyed. Ordered a Vindaloo, but this is not a Vindaloo: Smooth, lacking texture and fire, no potato, not cooked with caramelised onions, it was more like a hot masala. Shame.

Food not up to its usual good standard and part of the order was missing, when I phoned the restaurant to complain I was first asked to phone back in 5 mins as they couldn’t find my receipt and then asked ‘can we sort it out next time’ ……. There won’t be a next time

Usual Saturday night order, normally tip top food , have been using this place for years however this was below par , lamb was chewy and the chips I got were undercooked! How does that even happen!

The food was amazing and the best Indian Takeaway that we have had in a very long time. It all arrived piping hot, well packed, good portion sizes and very tasty. The ordering online was a quick and easy process and the website easy to navigate. The healthy options are very good and a great idea. Really bad. Chicken was way overcooked and powdery in flavour. After 3 mouthfuls all of it was put in the bin. I would avoid.

Best Indian we’ve had in ages, not watery like other Indians and looked like natural ingredients rather than the artificial colouring you get at other restaurants. Only down fall was we were missing our onion bajis but other than that we can’t fault it!

The food we received was flavourless and incorrect. The curry was very watery as if it had been defrosted. We were given garlic naan bread rather than plain. Overall disappointing and we will not order from here again.

Food was good and enjoyed the healthy options. Delivery was just longer than expected, about 45 minutes after expected delivery time.

Main dish was missing from the bag so driver had to go back and redeliver. Second delivery was not the dish i ordered, it was just the curry base with little or no spices added to make it a madras

We had food from this place years ago and the food was just the same then but because of the reviews we thought we would try again what a big mistake a complete waste of money never recommend to anybody and never go there again.
