Tandis in Camden

This is the second time we have visited with friends in a month. The food is fabulous, the decor is lovely and the staff really friendly and helpful. All our friends have loved it. We'll look forward to visiting again.

The food and service in this restaurant are both excellent. It is a real gem. I had sea bass which was a generous serving cooked to perfection

Nous nous sommes retrouvé par hasard dans ce restaurant le soir du 25 décembre avec nos 3 enfants. Nous avons été très bien accueilli, conseillé et servi. Très beau décor et excellente cuisine. Nous y retournerons à notre prochaine visite à Londres et cette fois ce ne sera pas par hasard c'est une certirude.

Very good food and amazing food. The services are very professional and it's a good way to discover the famous dishes of Persia and the Middle East. We highly recommend staying there and enjoying it. The balance between quality, quantity and price is much appreciable.

My son is regularly swimming at the 02 Centre Finchley Road so it’s a quick walk. Simply put it’s the best Iranian I have ever had. I am all about the taste of the food but it’s atmospheric as well and I wouldn’t say overly expensive compared to how good the food is.

The food is splendid. The staff is so kind, attentive and giving. Amazing place if you want real authentic Iranian cuisine. Not too oily, not too salty, just done right.

I was happy that my order arrived early. The order was well packed and insulated with foil so my food arrived hot. Food is tasty and fresh and clean. Very happy and will order again 10/10 !!

Was very disappointed when my food arrived with no rice. Ordered a mixed grill in which the description states it comes with rice. There was a choice to select 2 options in which I picked two salads thinking this was in addition to said rice. Very disappointed in being charged £47.99 for mixed meat and 2 salads. Rip off in my opinion. Won’t be ordering again

This is a very friendly place that serves fantastic food. I usually have one of the aspeciality stews, which are always super yummy. Last time I had a kebab with rice. I've been to many persian restaurants, but this kebab takes some beating. The service is really friendly and they go out of their way to help you if you need it and make sure you wouldn't don't over order if you aren't familiar with the menu. There is a day time deal menu which is unbelievably good value. Definitely a hidden gem.

We’ve going to Tandis for almost 10 years. Over the years good quality has been generally good . BUT, from time to time it changes from good to almost verging on just acceptable. For example, a month ago, soon after the management was changed, the food was excellent but last Friday, 28 July, we ordered barg soltanivand we got jojeh soltani and baghali polo had hardly any baghali in the rice; the rice was almost tasteless!!! They were apologetic about the order and offered to replace jojeh with barg but said it would take 20 minutes; not an option unless you’re dining alone and don’t mind the wait. The decent thing to do in my opinion would have been to take the wrong order off the bill or at least to apply a discount. I certainly hope they get it right because I like the restaurant and the food is good when I’m they get it right.

Restaurant marked order as delivered right before end of delivery window. Order ended up arriving 30 minutes later than latest expected delivery time. Food was also pretty bad

Absolutely fantastic food - a must try!!!

We were not really happy with the meat and chicken, almost taste and texture as if it was cooked twice - or just overcooked? The naan seemed undercooked however yet still quite dry. Quite thick and also cold. We sincerely regretted getting the naan. All in all, there are worse Persian restaurants where we actually question food safety, which wasn’t the case here. We will try Tandis again after some time.

Amazing food, would definitely recommend

We were told the Haverstock Hill restaurant had shut so went to the Finchley Road restaurant. It was a shame it wasn’t busy. The waiter was really well informed and helped us. The portions are ginormous so much so we took hime doggy bags. We listened to him by sharing the starter - an excellent Salad Olivia and adding olives and pickled cucumbers…the bread is sooo moreish. Our mains were too much for one person. The wine list we found to be ok but there were things on it that they didn’t have in stock, can’t blame them if trade os slow.

Amazing food, I really enjoyed it.

One of the best restaurants in London. Great Persian food, great service in the restaurant and on deliveries. They have the best Ghormeh Sabzi I've ever had both in the original version and in the vegetarian version. My home smells so delicious right now :)

Lots of sauce, almost no lamb. Not worth it

Ordered food on Thursday for a Friday evening delivery. Tandis delivered on the Thursday, about 1 hour after I submitted the order. They did admit it was their mistake and apologised, asked for the food to be returned the next day when they re-delivered fresh. It was so complicated - this was a planned visit to my elderly relative on the other side of London. Food arrived fine on Friday, and was REALLY very delicious, but please do encourage your restaurants to pay attention to delivery time - the mistake was an embarrassment and stressful for me (I've ordered from Just Eat twice, and each time the same thing has happened!!), and costly for the provider. It could potentially put me off from ordering through you again. Not your fault - the restaurant's mistake, but a reminder to check delivery time each time would be good!

We have been going to Tandis for years. The food is always amazing and so is the service. Cannot fault it in anyway. One of our favorite restaurants to visit. Tonight we went to their new location. The restaurant is so cool and the food and service was as good as ever.

I always wonder why I ever bother with a curry or Chinese, Tandis beats everyone hands down.

They gave me the wrong stew. Second time this has happened. Will not be ordering again.

Food arrived almost two hours late, no explanation or apology given by the restaurant. Ordered food for three people as well which meant by the time food arrived, people had to make alternative arrangements as no one expected the food to arrive so late. When attempting to call the restaurant, the call would not go through and delivery driver acted as if nothing had happened and said they "received the order 30 minutes ago" even though order was placed almost two priors to that.

Quantity and quality. I eat Persian food regularly. When the food arrived I noticed the portion was smaller. I thought that might be an indicator of good quality. Less quality and priceyer! That impression disappeared as soon as I oven the lid. It was cold, the rice were dry and the meat was hard in addition to being cold.

Love this local restaurant which is worth visiting for an enjoyable meal.

Brilliant Persian restaurant. Been ordering for 9 years now and we haven't had a single bad meal. The stews are consistently excellent, as are the grills. Enormous portions too!

You'll see other reviews from me for this restaurant and they've always been glorious reviews. NOT on this occasion. I hated the stew I ordered. I tried to eat it but the taste never grew in me and threw it in the garbage. A waste of money and I'm still hungry. I was also very dissapointed they wouldn't do half rice and half chips which they do for other dishes. This time they wanted to charge me £2.50. I order every week almost from this place. Some people should never own a business. They just lost a customer over the principle of wanting to charge a regular customer £2.50. Really?! I still think they have in the main great traditional food but I won't order again. Felt very dissapointed by their attitude for such an inconsequential request and amount.

Always delicious fresh and authentic . Superb food and equally superb service. You cannot go wrong with this restaurant. I order there all the time and never get tired of their great dishes.

Significant drop in quality (delivery). The Mirza Ghasemi tasted different, and the Baghali Polo Maahicheh wasn’t as good as usual. The rice seemed less fluffy and fresh overly seasoned. Shame I have been ordering from here for years.

Very much enjoyed. Lovely staff and delicious food. Would recommend they have limes for gin and tonic. Pita with hummus excellent.

.The staff were very welcoming and pleasant, and the food (one cold, one warm starters and naan bread, warm and slightly crispy) and to vegetarian dishes: the grilled aubergine and the okra, both come with fluffy Persian rice topped with saffron rice. All were delicious and filling. I’ve come to Tandis several times in the past, and they never let me down. Recommended.

Tuvimos un buen servicio, el personal era encantador, sin embargo, el problema era con la comida. El pollo joojeh estaba increíblemente seco y el sabor del azafrán era tan abrumador. También pedí el estofado de cordero, frijoles y limas y no fue agradable, fue el peor que tuve. El cordero estaba tan seco en el estofado que en realidad era difícil de masticar. Tenía un orden de patatas fritas que estaban un poco rancio y seco también. El kebab de cordero picado estaba bien pero nada especial. No me puedo quejar del arroz. El servicio fue maravilloso, pero no recomendaría la comida.

A very bad food, kobideh kabab was so dry and hard to cut, no test of kabab at all! غذای بسیار بد و کباب بیمزه، خشک و به گواه هر ٣ مهمانم اصلا مزه گوشت نمی‌داد! کوبیده اصلیترین غذای یک رستوران ایرانی است و هر ایرانی مزه کوبیده عالی رامیداند، حیف پول و انتظار برای چنین غذای بدون طعم و بسیار دور از مزه کوبیده، بخاطر مهمانها مجبور به خوردن کمی از آن شدم و به محض رفتنشان هم من و هم همسرم همه غذا را ریختیم داخل اشغالی. دیگه مراجعه نمی‌کنیم به این رستوران

El peor servicio que he experimentado en mi vida. Visité este restaurante para celebrar el cumpleaños de mi amigo y no fue bueno. El personal era antipático para decir suavemente. De hecho, fueron simplemente groseros. Algunos de nosotros llegamos antes que el resto de la fiesta y ni siquiera nos ofrecieron pedir una bebida. Luego nos molestaron varias veces para pedir comida antes de que llegara el resto de la fiesta. Cuando estábamos listos para ordenar, nos encontramos con una falta total de profesionalismo y modales. De nuevo, nos apuraron. El ambiente ha cambiado para peor. Avancemos rápidamente hasta el final del poder cuando tuvimos que pagar la factura. Decidimos no pagar el cargo por el servicio, ya que era opcional y sentimos firmemente que la persona que nos atendió simplemente no lo merecía. Justo antes de irnos, nos presentaron otra factura. El propietario decidió cobrarnos por sacar un pastel que trajimos con nosotros como sorpresa para nuestro amigo. El servidor nos informó que "Como no pagaste el cargo por el servicio, el jefe te está cobrando el pastel". Debo agregar que no se mencionó el "cargo de pastel" cuando llamamos al restaurante con anticipación para verificar si está bien traer el pastel. Cuando pedimos hablar con 'el jefe', no fue útil y no quiso escuchar nada de lo que teníamos que decir. Nos encontramos con grosería de nuevo.Si quieres pasar una buena noche, NO visites este restaurante. Vergonzoso.

Tandis was my regular place to dine and order a food online for over 5 years, Today I ordered 4 Tahdig which it costs over 30£ and after 1 hour and half I called the restaurant to see where is my order and they act really rude and told me they are going to cancel my order because just I ordered starters. So appreciated this after 5 years of being your regular customer.

Awful. Restaurant empty at Sunday´s lunchtime and food tasted poorly. Price far from matching the experience.

Cenamos aquí dos veces en dos semanas porque la comida era deliciosa y abundante, y el restaurante estaba tranquilo en ambas ocasiones. Es cierto que la segunda ocasión fue a primera hora de la noche, a mitad de la semana, pero probablemente nunca sea tan ruidoso como lo son muchos restaurantes en la actualidad. La comida es deliciosa, con platos enormes para los platos principales, por lo que es posible que no necesite un entrante. Sin embargo, es posible que desee probar las ofertas, algunas familiares y otras inusuales. El tratamiento del arroz es excepcional, especialmente cuando se mezcla con eneldo y habas, pero también cuando se ha bañado en salsa de tomate. El camarero parece haber encontrado a tres estadounidenses un poco desconcertantes, pero fue educado y eficiente. El exterior se veía bastante bien, pero en el momento en que entramos en el restaurante sentí que no nos querían como clientes. El camarero era tan reacio a servir como si le estuvieran pagando para quedarse allí. No había ambiente y solo una mesa tenía clientes. La comida llegó rápidamente, el cordero recocido, demasiado arroz y ninguna oferta de salsas, etc. El camarero vino a vernos una vez en un restaurante casi vacío y ese era él quien estaba parado a un lado. El otro camarero estaba limpiando los vasos, tuve que caminar hacia él para pedir un poco de salsa para agregar a nuestra mesa porque la comida estaba tan seca que era difícil de tragar. ! La factura llegó y nos negamos a pagar el cargo por servicio. Sinceramente una decepción tan masiva. Estábamos muy emocionados de salir en familia por una noche. Lo que sea que este restaurante tiene anteriormente para hacer que Michelin tenga que ser arrancado y tirado en la papelera. Tienen muchas cosas que resolver y lo principal es el servicio. Una sonrisa sangrienta de vez en cuando no te matará. Despotricar sobre.

Small, cosy local. Great food. Good informal service. No pressure to leave after we finished our meal.

Booked for a group and a baby on Sat, were greeted by a friendly lady waiter. Our drinks came quick and so did the starters. Panir sabzi and salad olviyeh were good but both the aubergine dips were too pâté like and really a dip quite frankly mediocre.Our mains of Baghali polo and Albaloo polo were nice, grills were good too, but I’ll probably go back only for the Albaloo polo.

We have visited Tandis a few times and always enjoy coming here. The welcome, food and service are very good. Always a good choice of authentic Iranian food, modern surroundings and never hurried.

the service staff was excellent to a 13guest party, excellent persian chef, smart location, venue nicely decorated. good for special occasion, business, or date. price a bit high but portions are big therefore a good choice, guest will not leave hungry as other fine dining serves tiny portions. will come back as usual.compliments for the service.
