A very nice traditional Thai restaurant. As it is small I recommend booking but you can get takeaway as well. 6 of us, good price very tasty. Will be going back

Fantastic food, fantastic service. Booked a table for Valentines Day at short notice, and the team couldn't have been more helpful after the website crashed, and I called to confirm my booking. We had difficulty finding a space, and they quickly provided a solution to get our night off to a great start. Starter's arrived in good time followed by the main course and both were piping hot. For my first Thai experience, it couldn't have been much better. We will be back 😀👍🏿

Visited for the first time today. Outstanding food and amazing service. We ordered the set menu for two and it was good value for money. To top it all off the atmosphere is lovely and a wonderful evening out. Can't wait to return!

Was pleasantly surprised by Tana Thai. I was expecting the same run of the mill establishment as others with mediocre food, but I was wrong. Firstly was warmly welcomed by the staff when we arrived and they sat us down taking our drinks order. I would firstly recommend that you book in advance as it's not the biggest venue but seems to be popular and lots of people are coming in on the off chance but not being successful with getting a table. The menu is just right with everything you expect, but on this occasion, we went for the set menu that had a bit of everything, and we ended up ordering some extra bits on the side. We were given complementary prawn crackers with some sauces, which I thought was a nice touch and very moreish. Service was spot on, and the food was not disappointing. Presented nicely, looked and tasted fresh, and portions were the right size, too. Waitresses were friendly and helpful, making sure everything was OK and making sure that we were OK for food and drink. I can't fault Tana Thai, my experience here was good and I would recommend anyone to try it if you haven't already. It's a nice little venue for a nice meal out and maybe a small group of friends. Definitely pre book your table, and honestly, enjoy your experience there as I did.

Excellent menu and brilliant gluten free selection. Ideal for vegetarians too. The food was extremely tasty and when they give it 3 chillis for spice - assume it's going to be very hot. Jasmine tea was an excellent accompaniment and the sticky toffee pudding was lovely and gluten free. Parking across the road in College car park. Free for blue badge holders. Staff helpful and friendly. Toilets clean and modern. If you're in a wheelchair then the toilets would be too narrow to transfer and there are 2 large steps to reach them. Would definitely eat here again.

All was excellent! A bit of a wait between courses, but so worth it! My favourite was the King prawn Pat Thai.

Absolutely brilliant Thai restaurant, great food and service.

Wasn't really for us, the tables are so close together it was like you were sitting with the people next to you. The food didn't have a much flavour as other restaurants we've tried in the past. It does get busy in there so lots of people enjoy it, it just wasn't for us on that night.

Simply wonderful - the food was delicious, possibly the nicest Thai food I’ve had outside of Asia and the portion sizes were big!

Our first visit to Tana Thai was excellent. The food and service were both outstanding. (Cautionary note: when a dish is described as 'very hot' it really is. I love hot and spicy food, but this was towards the upper limit of my tolerance). Our food was served quickly by a very friendly, constantly smiling, young lady. The presentation was stunning, as were the flavour combinations. My wife's Massaman curry was tweaked to add a bit extra spice - delicious! Good value, a really tasty meal and great service will definitely tempt us to return.

My partner and I aim to do a date night once a month at a non chain restaurant and keep it a surprise from the other. This was my choice and to be truly honest, this place was absolutely amazing! Really friendly staff, stunning interior and the food was just amazing!

Our friends took us to Tana last night for our first time ...we have had take aways but never eaten in . What an expierience beautiful clean restaurant, food was so fresh well presented and delicious , service and staff were excellent even though was so busy . So friendly met the chef and her husband as my friends know them ...lovely people and to top it allhad a complimentary lemoncello shot at the end ! Highly recommend we will be going back..Thank you Tana Tai

We went to Tana Thai tonight because we're staying in a hotel for work and wanted a change. The food and service were incredible. Would definitely recommend. Especially the penang.

The food is incredible, the staff are lovely. Every time I go it reminds me of being in Thailand. Lots of gluten free options and the staff are very knowledgable when it comes to food allergies / cross contamination. Thank you!

Had a lovely meal with the wifey. Would go again in the future. Service was really good. We originally ordered some noodles but it was a bit too spicy but they were happy to remake it to be more mild. Food tasted fantastic.

We went to Tana Thai for our anniversary. Wife had spring rolls for starters, which was essentially pastry with very little filling. For some reason I was a bit disappointed with the meal and also with the limited menu. We have had lot better meals previously at Tana Thai.

This is my favourite Thai restaurant in the whole of Bedford as well as London to be fair, and I have tried a few. The dishes here have a lot of flavour and the ingredients are quality and fresh. My favourite thing here is the Yum Woon Sen but not every one may order it due to the smell of the fish sauce or the dried prawns but absolutely delicious. Shame they do not have parking anymore but there is access to the paid car park in Bedford College which is opposite to them.

I don't normally write bad reviews but our experience here was not great. It was my birthday so we came here as it was suggested on the buyagift website. We had a dining experience bought for us as a gift before covid and we decided to use it there. Which was obviously not welcome because the older woman who dealt with us was really abrasive and rude the entire time. She didn't give us a chance to read the menu to see what was included she just shouted at us "buyagift is this one" and snatched the menus back. So we had no idea what we were about to eat. The younger waitress was so nice, but the older waitress only seemed to be nice to the other (only 2) guests. When we were finished we were waiting for the bill but she also said "why are you still here, what are you waiting for?", we did buy another drink that was over the allowance of the experience and so she slapped £6.45 gratuity on top of that drink, which resulted in 1 drink costing £9.99. ironically we had more cash than 6 quid to give as a tip but seeming as we were forced to pay gratuity for rude service we kept it. Despite this horrible experience on my birthday the food was good, couldn't tell you what we had because we didn't have a chance to read it. I have lived in Thailand and I was really hoping this would become somewhere I can continue to visit, because good Thai food is hard to find in the UK. But I wouldn't pay to be treated like that again. I will also make sure this experience is spoken about on all of my social media.

This is an outstanding restaurant. I arrived late, near closing time, and was warmly welcomed and shown to a comfortable seat. Sipping my Singha, I looked through the compact but well put-together menu. I chose the chicken satay and steamed sea bass. Both were excellent. The satay was beautifully presented with four large pieces of expertly-cooked chicken in a light, flavourful sauce and a crunchy salad on the side. My main course - the sea bass - was a masterpiece. Steamed to perfection and expertly filleted, it came in a simple, light, and deliciously spicy sauce, with perfectly cooked jasmine rice. The entire experience was a rare pleasure and the bill very reasonable. I will return and I recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Bedford.

Had the chicken satay to start then the chicken gaeng massaman 2 chillies in strength and jasmine rice,been here about 6months ago still as good as ever

Lovely little place. Very friendly staff and excellent service. We had the Thai experience for 2 which was £27 per person and is ideal if you want to try out different dishes.

Great service and delicious food...

We booked for 16 family members for boxing day ..we prebooked our menu and offered the back room.when arrived they were so accommodating allowing us to sit in square so we were able to enjoy each others company. The drinks and food were given promtly with no problem at all. Everyone couldnt speak high enough of the quality of food. They supplied us with karaoke machine which was such good fun thankyou for lovely night.

Delicious. Flavorful and nicely balanced with a medium amount of heat (I didn't ask for mild, hot, just wanted to try it 'how it came'). Not the cheapest out there, but was in no way disappointed.

Nice Thai restaurant. Good menu selection. I had Chicken Pad Kee Mao which was spicy and great for my palette, my daughter had Chicken Gaeng Massaman Curry which was delicious. Lots of Chicken which was very tender. They do lots of takeaway which was slowing service for those dining in it seemed.

My previous experience dining at Tana Thai was nothing short of faultless and second to none in both service and the quality of authentic Thai food served. Forgive the bright purple exterior and you will have an amazing meal here. The food and service was top class. I had special ribs which were delicious and a decent size starter portion and it was a treat to have some Thai desserts on the menu too, banana fritters were awesome!

We moved out of Bedford a year ago and had always eaten here and been happy with everything even though a little on the expensive side so when our friends asked us to stay over we booked a table. We were very disappointed the service was slow the food was not very hot and when ordering more drinks it took ages for them to arrive we sat for half hour after finishing our meal without anyone coming over to clear the table so we decided not to order more drinks and was not asked if we would like desert before our bill was put on the table don't think we go back

We haven't eaten in yet but we are delighted with our takeaways every time! We were desperate to find a good Thai restaurant when we moved here and are really grateful for this place, we love it.

Visited Tana Thai Restaurant for the first time this evening. A small intimate restaurant opposite Bedford College. The food was exquisite and the service superb. An absolute must if you are looking for something different in Bedford

I have been ordering from tana thai for the past 6months and I wish I knew about them earlier as a friend recommended them. I always order the gluten free pad kee mao and the pad grapo with vegetables and it is the best food I have ever eaten. It 100% exceeds all the takeaways I have tried in Bedford and is my number 1 favourite. The food is always made with fresh ingredients and the quality is amazing. I would definitely recommend this place the food is beautiful. The staff are very friendly and polite and always give 5star treatment to there customers.

Wow! You guys can cook! Super delicious food. Loved the Tom Yam, Satay and the Gaeng Phed Ped Yang and the spring rolls were not greasy like they sometimes come. Great and easy app too. Hope to dine in with you soon! I can really recommend you!

Just had a takeaway as we can’t visit at the moment. 1st time we’ve had Tana Thai as a takeaway and it was gorgeous. It was delivered by just eat who were 5 mins early. (Downloaded app but can’t get delivery as too far away)Couldn’t fault this meal best one for a long time. Thank you

Having tried another Thai food restaurant at Bedford where the food can only be described as Bland, We saw this place in passing. so we gave it a go the food can only be described as Delicious spicy with all the ingredients expected from a Thai food restaurant. Been back since also excellent. may i add we had take away food due to covid.

Takeaway arrived on time as ordered. We had the Thai Experience for for 2 There was a lot of food for 2 people and we have good appetites.Hot and full of flavour it reminded us that this time last year we were on a beach in Thailand

We have never had a bad meal here. The food is always amazing. We have dined in and also have regular takeaways since shutdown and cannot fault the food. Fresh and authentic. Tani Thai is definitely the best and most authentic Thai in Bedford now.

Such a lovely Green Curry that I fear I have become addicted. Very authentic and is like being back in Thailand. This has become my favourite Thai and am never disappointed.

Lovely Thai food. I generally get a curry which are amazing. However ordered a pad thai last week and it really wasn't that good. Tofu was bit burnt and seemed to lack seasonings with the flavour of burnt tofu over whelming it. However my partner had chicken one and loved it. Whenever I order a curry they are so good! Spring rolls are also very nice. Our regular Thai for sure.

Easy parking opposite the restaurant. We shared 7 dishes. All were of the highest quality. Great chef.Good service Well done.

Had such a lovely meal in this cozy little restaurant in Bedford. The food was amazing and the staff could not do enough for you . I had mixed starter to share followed by beef in black bean sauce , sooo tasty .We will be back soon ( lock down permitting) please see photos and yes it tastes as good as it looks .

Our second visit and another lovely meal. We especially like the sharing starter and Pad Thai. The food is really good, and a nice atmosphere.

Ordered twice from here and everything has been amazing, the prawn toast actually tastes like minced prawns not just mush. Tofu satay and pad thai both full of flavour, nam prik is super spicy and strong along with the green curry being really fragrant. It's pretty expensive for a take away but worth it when you see how huge the portions are and how good the quality is

I came here one Wednesday evening on the Eat Out to Help Out scheme and my friend and I ordered the set menu deal for two which was just fantastic. The meal was gorgeous, the service fabulous and there was SO much food! Would highly recommend!

Authentic food.The restaurant is small and the service is very slow.We waited an hour for our main food but I understand why! food was freshly cooked and definitely it was delicious and piping hot.I had chicken pad thai and I enjoyed it, chicken was tender And Portion was huge.Many thanks to “Valentina” for friendly service.They add 10% service charge to the bill.

We have passed by many times in the car and on bank holiday Monday we booked a table for lunch on the last day of the government's eat out to help out.All the staff were very friendly, all wearing masks and cleaning the menus and table mats as well as the tables every time people vacated felt very safe well socialy distanced.The food was presented beautifully, and tasted just as good very generous portions, I saw some tables taking doggy bags home.We ordered spring rolls, the biggest tempura king prawns we have ever had and tempura vegetables, we followed these with chicken pad thai and duck pad thai, both plentiful piping hot and delicious.Thank you for a very nice experience we will definitely be back in the not to distant future

Authentic Thai FoodThis place really does authentic Thai food. Their Phad Thai is as you’d get it in a street cafe in Bangkok. We’d recommend the green curry, the masaman curry, the Phad Prik Khapro. The chilli squid starter also delicious. Only place we’ll order Thai takeaway from :-)

Delivery is good. but the food is let down, I always love Thai food and I can tell if its authentic i order a somtam which is papaya salad i requested a mild and it was very hot, the salad it self is very watery its look like a soup instead of salad not a usual somtam that i have, colour is very horrible looking its suppose to be fresh looking and appetising i only had few spoon of it. The green curry we have is very thick and sweet again not the usual that we have, the chicken satay and pad thai is ok... All in all didn't enjoy it and its let down since this is our first take away since the pandemic started.. Will not be ordering in this restaurant again. I took a photo of the somtam but not sure how to attach it.

Really lovely flavours and authentic food

Very happy customer! We ordered from here on 17/07 and the food was extremely fresh and tasted absolutely delicious. We ordered a range of dishes, none of which I had tried before and I loved every single one of them. Thai food is now my favourite and it's all because of Tana Thai! Best of all, the staff were friendly on the phone, helpful with recommendations and the food was delivered in a timely manner. Thank you Tana Thai... I will be ordering from you again later on tonight!
