We went to Tamburinos Yeovil for dinner on new year's eve 2023, what a wonderful evening. It was a fixed price menu, four courses and a glass of prosecco. They had live music and fireworks, the staff were great, lovely atmosphere and, all in all, a great way to see in the new year. Food was excellent, we will definitely be back

Delicious food and outstanding service, never any less of a 5 star experience on every visit. Usually opt for pasta dishes but tried the steak for the first time and it was so soft and flavourful, would recommend again and again

We booked a table last minute for a busy Saturday evening; me, hubby and the two little ones. We were able to be fitted in for a table for 8pm but we phoned again 5minutes later and asked if we could bring it forward to 6.00pm. This was no problem for Dominico (owner- I asked his name upon leaving). We arrived 5minutes late, which I hate doing but parking was quite tricky to negotiate in the area so I’d suggest allowing time for this. On arrival Dominico greeted us and remembered who I was from the phone call exchange a few hours earlier. He shook our hands and lead our 5year old son to our lovely outside balcony table, calling him sir as he was doing so - which made my son feel incredibly grown up. We ordered drinks firstly then the waiter came back to take the food order. The kids had pizza and chicken nuggets with chips as we were having our starters; risotto in breadcrumbs and flatbread with mozzarella, tomato and pesto. All very delicious and couldn’t be faulted. Then myself and hubby had mains of pasta with chicken in a tomato sauce and a tagliatelle- again cooked beautifully. I must point out here that the menu is extensive and there are so many dishes. Myself and hubby were shocked at how quickly we were served - we wondered if the food was reheated but there was no such taste and when you look into the open kitchen you can see the chefs making the food. It was incredible the pace of service for a nearly full restaurant with such a big menu. We watched as Dominico spent time with the tables individually. Out of all the restaurants we’ve eaten in (and we are avid restaurant goers) I have never seen an owner so involved in their restaurant. He clearly has his heart in this and it shows. We ate desert kids ice cream, crème brûlée and Baileys shot with coffee and ice cream again- it could not be faulted! Everything had been cooked perfectly with amazing service. To top it off- the kids ate for free as a summer holiday promotion. We had a brief chat with Dominico before we left and thanked him for a wonderful evening but we could see that the bigger tables were arriving and the pace was increasing even more so we did not want to outstay our welcome. Really great restaurant we look forward to coming again! 5* for us! Thank you again for a brilliant evening!

The food has little to do with what Italian.. They're just cheap and mediocre adaptations. Completely disappointed...

Arrived with our family for a Christmas Day meal. We all had a warm welcome and were seated and offered drinks. Tables laid lovely with Christmas crackers and jugs of iced water and sliced lemon. There was (in the end due to isolation) 9 adults and a 1yr old. The place was full of families eating and drinking, Christmas music playing and Christmas lights flashing. It was a lovely atmosphere. It was never going to be your family traditional homemade Christmas Turkey dinner but we had a stress free, great service, 7 course meal. Fabulous hospitality, a visit from Father Christmas who gave all the children a gift and a chocolate, such a lovely unexpected touch. If I would change anything it would be down to my own personal choice ie stuffing, Christmas pud/mince pies or chocolate Yule Log. Round tables for better socialising. As I said it wasn’t your traditional Christmas meal but the service, food, atmosphere and the stress free day we had was well worth the money and never felt rushed. A good 4hrs of Christmas vibes. In yeovil, street and Sherborne combined there is nothing that compares to taburino in any other waythe staff, the food, the quality of the restaurant is incomparable The garlic bread is a great starter, alongside the best cooked steak in the area for a main, and the sticky toffee pudding for the mainI’ve never had a bad experience, the owner is so lovely, I highly recommend

We visited Tambourinos for our Christmas works doo - and there is not one part of the evening that wasnt incredible. Everything was outstanding! Food, staff, quality, live music - all absolutely excellent. I have been visiting Tambourinos and their small cafe Pizza Pasta Mondo for YEARS and it has been of the highest quality ALWAYS. They also have fed my Race Team every Wednesday and Thursday night with takeaway Pizza's for nearly a Year straight, every single time its PERFECT pizza, with friendly delivery. Thankyou for hosting us and for making truely excellent food and having superb, friendly Staff.

As is the Tamburino in Street, Somerset, the Yeovil restaurant is excellent. Excellent in atmosphere, ambience and food. Served by people who clearly enjoy working there making the whole experience enjoyable Highly recommended

I live in London but my parents live in a nearby village just outside of Yeovil. I make a point to come and visit Tamburino with them every time I visit. The food is consistently excellent (the Penne Gamberi e Pollo is my favourite). The staff are always friendly, welcoming and courteous. Without a doubt the best restaurant in Yeovil. You won’t be disappointed. London restaurants have nothing on Tamburino.

We visited Tamburinos for my 11 year old daughter’s birthday party. We had a lovely time, nothing was too much trouble for the staff, they took care of us really well and were able to cater to the various dietary requirements of our group. The food was all really delicious, especially the seafood risotto, which was very tasty and piping hot. My daughter loved the birthday celebration they did for her! Will definitely be back there again soon!

The Tanburino’s team delivered a fantastic experience for a very large Birthday Party Group - EXCEPTIONAL! Domenico, Salvador and the team worked so so hard and made a party of 21 Children and 20+ Adults an extra special Party. Excellent food, and the team could not do enough for us. They worked closely with the organising parents to make sure the event was very special and ran extremely smoothly. They made 3 young Girl’s joint party incredibly memorable. Thank you!

It must be popular - after all, there were 47 other diners in there with us on a November Tuesday. But… it was incredibly noisy. Loud music that no one listened to, everyone tending to shout because if you didn’t, you couldn’t be heard. Starter was good, but pizza base was so tough I left most of it. My wife enjoyed her fish main course dish, but we certainly won’t return

Tamburino is a top class family restaurant. The staff are always welcoming and the food is excellent. We are particularly found of the high quality seafood and fish. The staff are all friendly and helpful. We enjoyed seeing their Halloween costumes this year. Have read a little more about Tamburino on the website I found it opened around the time we moved to the area. We have shared many family occasions there and hope to enjoy many more.

Been here several times and it’s a typical friendly Italian restaurant. Always welcomed and this visit was no exception.I was with my two children staying in the Premier Inn on the opposite side of the road. It was a busy evening but I’d booked ahead.There were three birthdays going on and every now and then the lights would go down and some birthday music played. One of the waiters beats a drum and after the first birthday the rest of the diners joined in so it got quite fun and raucous.My children had the pizzas which they loved and I had spicy pasta which was really lovely.Reasonably priced and was a lovely family evening. My children enjoyed the lively atmosphere.Quick service even when busy.

Such a wonderful experience - my partner and I came from out of town and will definitely be coming again! Staff were warm and attentive, food was high quality and served quickly (Lasagne del Cassa was god tier) and the atmosphere was buzzing in the best kind of way. We'll be back!

Planning to go to the cinema and fancy a quick bite? Then this is not for you. I had the starter of bufalo caprese which was fine (it is just mozzarella cheese, tomatoes and pesto). 5hen mistakenly took their speciality pizza which was just parma hame, flakes of cheese on a very hard base. Even rhe shapened knife had trouble with it. Once finished they immediatly dropped rhe dessert menu on the table and never csme back. It took ages to otder a cappuccino. The ever longer to get someine I could ask the bill off of. They dropped that off and then didn't come back. In the end i had to get up to the counter yo pay. I asked them not to exclude the sutomatic service charge which they didn't do. I had then to ask for a refund in cash.

Very busy restaurant but that adds to the atmosphere. Professional waiters and waitresses efficiently manage the room and the busy kitchen can be seen from the restaurant. Pizzas and pastas are first class and authentic and there's a decent well-priced wine list too.My first time here and I will be returning as it is hard to find an authentic Italian restaurant that offers such great value.

A beautiful and buzzing Italian. Me and the Mrs don’t go out often as just a twosome, and we have certainly found our new favourite place to unwind. Pasta dishes were fantastic, and a special mention to Danuta behind the bar who makes the best passion fruit martinis ever, the mrs is on her forth and eying up another one!!! Defo recommended

Visited this lovely Italian restaurant during my business trip in Yeovil. Lovely spot opposite the premier inn I was staying at. Nicely decorated inside. Didn’t book a table in advance but the waiters were very welcoming. The restaurant was very busy which is a good sign. We were seated immediately and drinks order taken.We were told about the special pasta in squid ink, which I was a bit braver to try this!I eventually picked on the calamari as a starter with the spaghetti polpette (spaghetti meatballs) for main. The calamari starter was perfect, could have eaten a full bowl! The reason for 4/5 was the main course, the meatballs were slightly over cooked for my liking but this is being harsh. Lovely food, lovely atmosphere and brilliant pints of Peroni. One to visit if staying in Yeovil.

We came to Tamburino last night after looking for a nice restaurant to celebrate our Anniversary. This is the first time we have eaten out in Yeovil as we are quite new to the area and booked here after reading all the glowing reviews.From the point of arrival, the staff were friendly and the atmosphere inside was great.We had the Arancine & Carpaccio to start and both were superb. We then had the Seafood Rissoto and Tagliatelle. It was stunning food and the manager was so kind.We will 100% be coming back. It is clear to see why this place is the highest ranked: Great value, Great service, Great food!

We stopped enroute for a table of 8 for a quick bite but instead stayed for the full service with some nice vino. highly recommended.

In yeovil for a show at the octagan, read the reviews for here and popped in for lunch.. Absolutely fab ,waitress so friendly and very efficient. The food was stunning lovely flavours good size portions. Just wish we lived nearer to sample more from their very vast and impressive menu

Tamburino fully justifies its high rating on all counts. We were visiting a couple of local "attractions in the area and happily had booked this restaurant for dinner. It is vibrant and welcoming, with pleasant, professional staff and great food from an interesting menu. There was nothing not to like (well maybe the wine prices were not inexpensive!). The service was prompt and efficient, the menu was interesting and fairly priced. The food was well cooked, nicely presented and delicious.The ambience was lively with a birthday and a hen night being celebrated at other tables, which made it quite a fiesta. We were very pleased to have found this place and booked it in advance.

Service - outstanding. The staff were attentive and jovial. Food - outstanding. There were 7 of us and we all ordered something different from starters to desserts and each meal was faultless.

Really excellent, attentive but unobtrusive staff, really good food and wine, but the clincher? the best wine glasses in Yeovil!! good wine is even better from a good glass, and theirs are excellent! Several visits over the last 18 months and never disappointed, always good, greeted from the first visit as a friend, not just a customer.

Had an amazing night celebrating my birthday with my friends , the staff were really friendly and efficient. The atmosphere was lovely and the music great too! I felt extra special when the staff sang happy birthday to me whilst playing the tambourine, bringing cake & sparklers too! Definitely recommend going there for a meal, the food was fantastic as well as quick service. I am 100% going there again. 10/10

We were visiting Yeovil on holiday and Tamburinos instantly stood out as it was the only restaurant that was jam packed for dinner when all other places around the high street we're quiet. We managed to get a dinner reservation for 10 people before the end of our trip and we're not disappointed. The service from all the staff was friendly and they were great with our young children. Food was delicious and authentic. The apple cobbler with toffee sauce was divine, would go back again for that alone!

Tamburino is good relaxed Italian restaurant with a massive menu choice and good wine list. All our food was cooked well and served nicely by Charlotte. Thank you for a lovely evening.

A must visit. We’re from Cheshire, but we’ve lived in London, Preston, Lancaster and Newcastle and never had an Italian this good in the UK. Our starters were bruschetta and arancini, mains were lasagne and rigatoni ficuzzq. Simply divine. Service is great and the story behind the restaurant is beautiful - highly recommend if if in the area. Thank you Tamburinos for a wonderful evening!

Excellent, authentic and well presented food. Visited during our Dorset holiday totally taking a chance and it reminded us of our Italian holidays. Ordered pasta, pizza and a variety of starters and desserts. Nothing formulaic, all homemade and you could tell that the Italian family who run the place take real pride in their work. Will recommend to any one looking to experience the depth of Italian flavour right here in England.

I booked a table for Saturday evening on line and was telephoned twice to confirm booking. We arrived just before 8 pm and were left waiting while the so called Manager frantically looked for a table even though he had just given a table for two away to a walk in. He eventually with help from a colleague brought a table in from outside and gave it a quick wipe over. The place mats were stained and curling up at the edges but nonetheless the smells from the restaurant kitchen were lovely. Unfortunately we did not get to sample the food as after twenty minutes of being completely ignored and not even offered a glass of water or any drinks we decided to leave. The manager was not happy we were leaving and told us to look around at how busy they were. I will not be back and suggest that if they cannot cope then they should have less covers. We were out celebrating a special event and had planned to have champagne together with starters, main, desserts and cheese board. Frankly disappointed and only came because of the recommendations in the first place, thank you for ruining our night.

Really brilliant, fantastic service - our waitress was amazing and totally on the ball. All the staff seemed to take real pride in their restaurant… so lovely to see. Had a lovely meal with our 2 children (7 and 4). Food was perfect.

Staying in Yeovil for the weekend we had seen good reviews of the restaurant. Luckily we had booked a table. The first thing that hit us was the atmosphere, that unmistakeable buzz of people having a good time. The food did not disappoint -Home made bread stuffed with mozzarella, tomato, pesto can only be described as the best cheese toasty ever, and Kirsty had the stuffed risotto balls which went down so well se didn't even offer me a bite. Mains were sensational - penne travisani (penne, chicken, pancetta, muchroos in a creamy sauce) and tagliatelle porcini (tagliatelle with mushrooms) Unfortunately we were stuffed after that so had to decline the dessert. Which was a real shame as they looked delicious.

Lost our order which resulted in us waiting a long time for our food. No apology was given.Not as good value as it was. Kids used to eat free, I understand with Covid that they need to cover their cost better but kids menu was very expensive for what it was.

A Monday evening in Yeovil , 6 of us staying at a local hotel .... we found Tamburino advertised in the hotel booklet and decided we'd try it. So pleased we did!The place was buzzing! and it was only 6.45. Dominico made us very welcome although they were very busy he quickly delivered our drinks and we relaxed. A very good choice of food available from the standard menu but also there was a specials selection. Throughout our meal Dominico and his team were attentive but not obtrusive. We had a lovely evening, Thank you!

Visited with my family, the greeting was friendly and the first thing I was hit with was the smell. Then looking at the plates on other tables, we realised that we’d made the right choice. The Garlic Bread was fought over by my tribe of 5.The main course was Sea Bass for me and Lamb Cutlet for my wife, we were fight/sharing each other’s meals. The kids had lasagna and spaghetti dishes and these were beyond tasty.All in all, I’d move in and become Italian if it meant I could stay.

Definitely the best place to visit for a birthday! Provided a great atmosphere and the staff will make the birthday boy feel special!

The staff were excellent and looked after us well. But unfortunately the restaurant was far too noisy for us to hold any conversation, without shouting, which of course added to the noise.

Very good atmosphere, the staff were friendly and welcoming. Food was really nice with an extensive menu but prices were good. My wife said "one of the best Pasta dishes she has eaten since we visited Rome"!!! Always book as very busy

I can’t remember how long ago my last review was but it must have been at least four years ago, for this restaurant. It was really good then, and it didn’t let me down all this time later!!!Dani and Gianni were brilliant front of House, and the Chefs didn’t let them down. We both had the Scallops and Prawns as starters, beautifully cooked, couldn’t fault either. Our main courses were equally as well cooked, a simple Margarita Pizza and the Pollo Palermo, with the addition of Gourmet Pomes Frites Thank you to Dani and Gianni for their fantastic Service, you guys were fantastic and a credit to the Restaurant, I hope it’s not so long unitil we can visit you again.Rarely can you visit a Restaurant after such a long period of time and it doesn’t let you downThank you so much!!!

What can I say, after 16 months of not going out to dinner with my wife, we chose Tamburino’s in Yeovil. What a meal. It was well cooked, very tasty and the apple Cobbler for desert was out of this world. The atmosphere was excellent, staff very friendly, food was swift, but not too quick allowing you to enjoy and not feel rushed. Music is quite loud, but still able to have a conversation without the table next to you being able to hear you. I highly recommend this restaurant and can’t wait to return again soon

We had dinner tonight at the Tamburino as a group of 10. Service was exceptional. Food was delicious especially the risotto. Staff were lovely and the restaurant was very Covid safe. Plenty of room between tables. Very highly recommend this restaurant.

We came here as a spontaneous stop off between Devon and Essex and what a great pick. The food was fantastic, the service was great and a lot of variety to choose from. We'll definitely come here again. I would recommend the homemade SemiFreddo!

Service and Atmosphere were great, we were seated quickly and had menus straight away. The staff were friendly, happy and organised. Food was outstanding, everything was hot and freshly cooked. We don't eat out often but would definitely eat here again.

It’s our second visit. This is like a top class London Italian . My steak was truly the best ever and my friends Lamb dish was gorgeous.
