Tamarind in Neath Port Talbot

We have been using theTamarind for over 12yrs have never been disappointed in any of their meals. Always friendly staff and management. Always top quality meals. We travel pass at least 3 Indian take aways, traveling a distance for a Tamarind take away, we have that much confidence in them to sell us a take away we will enjoy. In all the years we have been buying their meals they have never let us down, we have enjoyed every meal. Williams.

We've had takeaways from here a couple of times before and they've been pretty good. As vegetarians it's difficult to get much variety but Tamarind have an excellent selection so tonight we tried a whole different menu- Wow! Absolutely knock out ( particularly the Goa green curry). Highly recommend, the best Indian takeaway we've had in this area in more than 30 years of trying. Well done you Tamarind people, we'll be back for more soon.

Went there for a birthday meal and everyone was happy with the food, the service and the price. Try the Manchurian Chicken.

£27 spent and what a waste! Really disappointed, Chips were grey/black like a gone off potato was used and rock hard. Jalfrezi was very oily on top and very little chicken. I have been coming here for years and after tonight I will not be returning. Photos don’t really show how bad they were!!

Hubby and I had a lovely meal on our recent visit to Tamarind. I had my usual Special Biriani which was lush. It could do with a bit more sauce though. My husband had his usual Lamb Sagwala with Paella rice. I couldn’t fault the food at all. While we were there there was a large group of about 12 diners - mixed company with half a dozen children. The children had made a mess on the floor - Chips, rice etc. My problem was that the mess wasn’t cleaned up before the next diners came in. Staff cleared the tablecloths and put out napkins and cutlery, but why on earth didn’t they brush up the mess from under the table. It’s because I was looking at the carpet that I noticed how absolutely filthy it is. If I was the owner I’d remove the carpet and have laminated flooring put down which is much easier to keep clean.

Had a takeaway tonight. Knew it was going to be good as soon as we got it in the car, the smell was amazing. Good sized portions, excellent value, but mostly (as a vegetarian) a really wide selection. Such a nice change, we've had some horrid stuff locally. Very enjoyable meal and I'm looking forward to eating my way through the rest of the extensive vegetarian menu. Well done you Tamarind people, we'll be back soon.

Hadn't been for over a year. We were really surprised when we called in on a Friday evening. The menu had changed and staff. My partner reckons the best biryani he had for a long time. I enjoyed one of the specials. Even the dry house white has improved. We felt they deserve a thumbs up in trio advisor. Looking at some of the reviews people agree too. Have to say we normally venture to Sa1 when we have an anchoring for a curry but Tamarind is nearly up there with Rasoi. Well done, we will be returning as we're pretty local!

Best Indian food I’ve had around Swansea! Have been coming here for years but since the recent manager has been here the food has gone from good to amazing.

I'm usually quite harsh with my judgement on Indian cuisine since I have family from there and judge all food against theirs, but this is definitely the best I've had in south Wales so far. Highly recommend it.

Take away, arrived piping hot and on time. Prices have increased, but so has everybody else.Still good value. Very friendly service

Met a friend here tonight and the food was outstanding. Easily the best meal I have ever had. We had Chicken Gurkali, Bhindi Masala, Tarka Dal, Lemon Rice, Cucumber Raitha and a Garlic Nan. The entire meal was perfect, the attention to detail was impressive. The nan was one of the best ever. The barmaid was delightfully cheeky! Gwych! If you want great food look no further. The staff are friendly and welcoming even when they are flat out busy as they were tonight. A true jewel in Pontardawe’s crown! Dhoondabad! Diolch yn fawr iawn! (Apologies, no photos. No time to take photos, we had to tuck in and eat!)

Best Indian experience ever! Although we go to the Tamarind most weeks tonight we tried their Chicken Gurkali for the first time. Hot but not too hot, absolutely delicious. Accompanied by thick Taka Dal (ask for it thick) and a cucumber raitha. Yum!

The 4 of us walked in and enjoyed the Sunday deal which let us enjoy 1 starter, 1 main and 2 sides for a very good price. Couldn't fault most things that came except it would have been nice for some dishes to be spicier. Service was fast and we got a warm towelette and a mint chocolate after.

Booked a table and chose the set menu offer from 4pm. Stunning food and generous portions. Really surprised by quality as it was reasonably priced. Lovely quick service. Will be going again !!

Simply the best food, staff are amazing! So very friendly, the Tamarind has become our go to for date nights and family treats. Certainly the best in swansea, and possibly Wales! So looking forward to our next visit!!

There is nothing negative to say about the Tamarind. Fuad and his team are wonderful and the food is the nicest I've ever tasted. Perfect every time.

I frequent the Tam as both customer and to carry out maintenance Fouad and staff are great, I love the food and the way they will adjust the heat of dishes to meet the customers preferences. Finally, As one who frequently finds himself lying under kitchen units carrying our repairs I can confirm that the kitchens are spotless, even where one can’t normally see Shame one can only give 5 stars

If I could give zero stars I would. We oreordered off justeat for 1745, it arrived at 1800 stone cold. I stuck my little finger into a leg of tandoori chicken to feel no heat. I rang the restaurant to be answered by a rude fella who disputed everything I said. They eventually agreed to send fresh food out. I had a knock on the door with a driver to pick up the food I had had delivered, there was no replacement food (I thought that's strange). An hour goes by and eventually a knock on the door with what we thought was fresh food. It wasn't!!! It was the same food that had been bunged in the microwave, reheated and sent back out( they didn't even replace the containers). I will be addressing this with health and safety, environmental health and just eat. This place should be shut down. Reheating on the bone chicken is unacceptable

Just about the best tandoori mixed grill I've ever had, sublime! My wife went off the buffet menu and was equally impressed, please people, don't bother going anywhere else! This is the best place in Wales! Brilliant food, and wonderful staff! ENJOY

Honestly, outstanding!! I'm a huge fan of Indian cuisine, it's absolutely my favourite dine in/take out/delivery! I also love city breaks, and we always oot for Indian cuisine. BUT....... nothing had yet compared to the Tamarind, Pontardawe. Not the food or the staff. Try it!!!

I've had many a meal here, and each one has been absolutely tasty and we'll presented , the staff are really friendly and caring.

Had a take-away from the Tamarind, as our regular is closed for a couple of days. Food was cold, bland and small portions. Will not be trying there again.

Just back from a short break in Abercrave. Decided to try this restaurant as the reviews were very good. We waited for our meal for nearly an hour. I ordered Madras it came out like chicken in pea soup. My wife ordered chicken tikka main course. Some of the chicken was tough and looked very un appetising. We personally wouldn’t go there again. Admittedly the staff were very friendly and apologetic.

Ordered a delivery, a curry was missing, poor communication on the phone from staff, chicken was stringy and dry. Naan bread was like a brick, couldn’t even be digested. Definitely won’t be ordering from there again. Tasteless.
