Talent House in Isle of Anglesey

The food here never fails, no matter what we order, the food has been excellent. We telephoned to collect and it was ready on time, piping hot. Staff are helpful on the phone. We live in this area and wouldnt go anywhere else.

Poor quality. Wouldn’t go again and wouldn’t recommend. Chinese chips were dry, salt and chilli chicken was chewy and most of the four meals went in the bin. Captive holiday audience

Was good last year. Now poor food been reheated. Chips were like stones. Maybe it’s changed hands. Won’t be going back. Very disappointing.

Please rename your business as there is certainly no talent here. This is the first and last time that I will visit this establishment. My salt and pepper dish was tasteless and had an unusal odour emanating from it; the chips on the other hand were over cooked and rock solid. Rather than utilising cutlery a chainsaw would have been easier. The chicken fried rice seemed like bird food and was also over cooked and very disappointing. All dishes apart from the prawn crackers were genuinely inedible. Together with my wallet our taste buds have been mugged.

Was an hours wait for food which was quite long however expected for a busy saturday night. Food was well worth the wait though. Absolutely delicious and staff were so apologetic and friendly about the wait for our food. Would definitely go back!

This could be a great Take Away. But the Sauce in some dishes is way too wet/ gloopy! Almost inedible:(( However the Chow Mein was very good. Please improve- you will enhance your business!

One of the worst Chinese meals I’ve had. I genuinely could have made something better using a jar from Tesco. The sweet and sour pork was tasteless and the Char Sui ginger and spring onion got thrown in the bin. Even the salt and pepper chips weren’t worth the calories. Take your business elsewhere and go off the island

Not the worst but definitely not the best, other reviews state dishes bland and agree with this. Couldn’t see a lot of egg if any in the egg fried rice. Big portions but lacking in taste.

Web site needs up dating menu prices are different to actually going in worst chinese ever bland tasteless sauce very runny you could drink it .

Absolute joke. Amongst other things a Spanish omelette ordered and came full of different meats. Never has a Spanish omelette included meat only potato and veg in addition to egg. No mention of meat underneath this (for example house special lists ingredients underneath) Vegetarian now going hungry. Chips with dish dry and frozen. Other food bland and tasteless and not particularly cheap. Won’t be returning

Excellent food and fast service. We had salt and pepper dishes , prawn curry and sweet and sour. Really enjoyed it. Will definitely visit again when back in the area.

Had 2x mains & 2x sides from here, at a very reasonable price. The guy sorting the orders was open and honest when the wait time went up. Decent portion of food at decent prices - mains also had a good amount of meat. I've had better salt & pepper chips elsewhere but the portion we got from here was decent.

Not the best. Wasn’t particularly busy but the food was poor. Cheap frozen chips. Curry tasteless. Rice over cooked. Chilli chicken mostly coating and little chicken.

Worse Chinese we've ever had. None of the dishes seemed as they should. Never seen veg chow mein with super noodles and chunks of broccoli on top!!. Plus it's cash only. Would not recommend. Awful

Phoned order through as of passed experience gets very busy, picked up my order at time requested even though they had a queue forming in the shop. Food was excellent and enjoyed by everyone, would definitely recommend and next time in Benllech Will visit again.

Had heard mixed reviews about this place, used to use it before covid but haven’t since. Pre-ordered our takeaway and it was ready when we arrived. friendly staff and reasonably priced. Generous portions and all the food was great, even the crispy duck was pre-shredded...

Probably the worst Chinese I have ever had. The dish I ordered was supposed to be szechuan mixed vegetables. Tasteless watery pale liquid never had anything like it in my life.... The whole takeaway was ready in less than 10 minutes I can see way....

Ordered a vegan chinese which they said they have, I spoke to them for 10 minutes requesting no egg, fish, meat - they spoke to the chef and all ok. Picking it up which was a 15 minute journey most items had egg ... soup...

We have eaten here twice in the last 3 wks and I can honestly say the food is delicious! We had different food this time to last and all 4 meals rate 10/10. This is a firm favourite when visiting Anglesey.

You can tell the chef goes the extra mile with the ingredients, most chinese takaways are average, but top notch here. The hot n Sour soup is the best ive ever had with plenty of strips of chicken,pork, prawn and even fresh chillies added,!You can tell they go that bit extra to make such fantastic tasting food everytime.All mains are yummy with amazing flavours.Forget a chinese restaurant, this takaway is much better than the avergage restaurant anywhere and always service with a smile -How refresshing!

On holiday and fancied a chinese, I didn't expect the banquet for 3 I ordered would have exceeded my expectations. Fabulous starter and enough food to feed 5 easily. If you happen to be in the area and fancy a good chinese this place will not disappoint.

Great take away, good prices and always very effecient and quick. If The Golden Fry is too busy, you could do a lot worse than popping in here instead. The set menu is very good, and would feed 4 people quite easily not 2 !!

The service was very friendly and very fast. The food was ready in ten minutes. We are vegetarian. There were plenty of options for us and the food was hot and delicious. The Cantonese style vegetables and tofu in black bean sauce were particularly good.

Had a takeaway from here while we were camping. All 3 of us really enjoyed our selections. Be aware they do not accept cards.

Looked forward to a Chinese meal , Saturday night about 6pm was so busy waited 40 minutes for meal not worth it Chicken and Mushroom and Duck and Mushroom had to use knife and fork to cut meat which where really large chunks, both sauces were watery and please note fried rice is an extra and not cooked very well , I don’t think they could deal with the pressure they were under , will not use again back to Golden Fry next takeaway

We’ve had three takeaways from Talent House now, & each one has been excellent. Delicious food, including really large, juicy King Prawns (King Prawn Kung Po: highly recommended!), generous portions, great service. Our new favourite Chinese!

Whilst staying in Benllech we ordered a meal from here, the food was excellent the staff pleasant and was prepared in a timely fashion. Well worth a visit if staying in the area.

Whilst staying in Benllech last week we read the reviews of Talent House and decided to try this ourselves. Very good decision and this was a very quick and tasty takeaway. Would thoroughly recommend.

Accept telephone orders so as we get on the island I ring our order through.Large juicy king prawns best we've had from a chippy.Reasonably priced..one portion of the rice can serve 2.Ditch the fish and chips and try it.

We were on holiday as a family and decided to try the talent house for one of our meals, we all could recommend this takeaway, great food and great portions.

Restaurant quality food at take away prices - never had king prawns so big in the UK!! The king prawn in black pepper sauce is to be recommended as is the mixed starter which is a huge portion for just £10 and brilliant quality! Nice staff, speedy service, will definitely be using again!

We were staying with friends in nearby village. We had the set meal for four. There were 5 adults and two children. We thoroughly enjoyed it. It was hot the rice was delicious with bits of meat and prawn in. All main dishes were yum and good sized portions served in plastic containers. Would definitely eat from here again.

Went in to order, and it was ready in 15 minutes. Friendly service. We ordered a set meal. Lots of food, it fed us for 5 meals. And best Chinese meal we've ever had.

Great selection of food to choose from and good value too. In-fact it was that good we went twice in one week :-) Bit of a normal wait the first time we went but ordered our food on the second visit.

Visited this Chinese restaurant for a quick family meal had the chicken black bean, house special vegetables, soft noodles and egg fried rice, pretty average experience, black bean was tasty, but the house special was bland and the rice was cold overall ok

I've never written a negative review before but the food That I received was awful. I ordered chicken fried rice and ribs, the ribs were greasy but were tasty. I don't exactly know how they could make chicken fried rice so bad. The meal was full of chicken skin which after a few mouthfuls I was sick. I through the lot in the bin. I'm very disappointed as I spent £20 on rubbish food. I loved the old talent house and always called there on my way home never again

Having tried most of the Chinese takeaway places on Anglesey, this one is the best I've tried since it's reopened.

I called in on a mid week night to try out the newly opened Talent House, I was greeted by very friendly smiles and hello's as I walked though the door. The food we had was excellent, duck with plum sauce, and special Szechuan. The duck was very well cooked with crispy bits but very tender meat and the Szechuan lovely and spicy with some enormous prawns in the sauce. Definitely be going back for more and thanks for the welcome as I walked in!

No longer a restaurant but a high quality take away the new owner ran the much respected Phoenix in Llangefni. Based on what we experienced when they were in Llangefni we ordered Duck in plum sauce, fried rice and as a starter pancake rolls with sweet and sour dip this was shared between two and was more than enough extremely good value and did not disappoint. Absolutely fantastic to have them on our doorstep.

The smell when you walk in is terrible. Fusty and dank. I should have walked out then and wish I had.Placed order and paid.Sat down to wait. That's when I saw the filthy carpets,dust filled curtains and dirty walls.Order took 20 mins. Piping hot but tasteless.Barbecue ribs in a revolting tasteless gloppy sauce.Chicken in lemon sauce was so sweet, inedible .The rice vermicelli Singapore style wasn't touched as had an odd smell.My chicken Cantonese style, was flat processed chicken in a far too sweet sauce.It was all packed in a flat box that was easy to carry.When I went to rip it up for the bin along with most of the food,It said on the side, Piri,Piri chicken ready meals from Aldie.!!!!Bit of a give away to what they are doing.Wasn't until I walked past the day after, I noticed a 3 in the hygiene rating on the door. No wonder we all felt a bit off the next day.!!

Had a takeaway for two with crispy chilli chicken which was nice and spicy but the sauce was very watery and a lemon chicken which sadly was deep fried and very dry. Price was average and ease of service/ordering was good with a reasonable takeaway menu. Parking to collect was ambushed as the road was busy and quite narrow but there is a public car park nearby which is across from the Tesco supermarket.

Not been here for over 5 years. To be honest not eaten out in Benllch for that time, sadly the village seems on the decline, despite the best efforts of Tesco and a couple of cafes opening.The Talent House feels a little careworn, maybe in need of some tlc. Then you hit both the food, and the service... A lovely welcome from a woman who apologised for having to pick up her kids, then a solid performabce from the young man who worked front of house. Attentive, humorous, personable but never bloody irritating in the 'I'll refill you glass can I get you anything else' mould. The food was way better than average, go there for the chilli salt veg if nothing else, the veg chow mein was ok, but the combination of crispy fried and soft noodle was odd, but actually very nice. I want to go back again... Now, that's a good self-review. I want that chilli salt veg, I want to not be a coward and look at the other veggie dishes. I want more of that chilli salt veg...Comfy, homely, friendly, turn that music down! Go, eat!

Not posh but homely and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble for the charming young lady who was serving in the restaurant and we left feeling that we had been well looked after.

Just got back from Benllech and tried this place out whilst we were there. We got 6 different meals and shared them between all of our party. Big portions and very tasty food. Phoned the order through and told it would be ready in 30 minutes. Which it was and nicely packed in a cardboard box to carry back. Nothing was left over and we all felt full and satisfied afterwards. If we find ourselves in Benllech again, this establishment would definitely be getting a visit again ☺

We booked a table for 6:30 pm on Thursday September 24th, they accepted the booking.When we arrived, there was only another table for 2 that was taken in the restaurant. We placed our order and they then informed us that there would be a darts match starting at about 7:30pm. We thought it was strange that there were 2 darts boards on the wall.At 7:30pm the darts teams started to arrive, there must have been about 30 people, so as you can imagine the restaurant got loud and noisy. It wasn't a very pleasant dining experience and we feel that we should have been informed before we ordered or even when they accepted the booking. Needless to say sadly, we would never return because we wouldn't want to experience it again.It is a shame because the food is good, but I think they have to make up their minds whether they want to be a restaurant or a pubs games room.As it is it doesn't work being both.

Simply brilliant Chinese takeaway. You can eat in the restaurant but the take away food is simply quality. We had crispy duck which was plentiful and really good. Sweet n sour chicken, chilly beef and yung chow. Brilliant and tasty food. Really recommend it.

We came here due to the beachcomer being booked up. A very pleasant welcome was received, unfortunately that's the only pleasant thing about the place. The whole place needs a total refurb, it smelt very foisty, the carpet could have done with a deep clean?replacing! We ordered duck in plum and beef with wild mushroom. The duck came,which I admit was beautiful, it just wasn't in plum sauce, more like honey and orange :/ having had a taste of my partners beef, I said it didn't taste very nice, from which he woke in the morning with very bad guts and throwing up.....love Benllech, but won't go here again!

We received a warm welcome, shown to our table and swiftly given the menu. We ordered drinks and the promptly arrived. The food was quick to come to the table and the food was excellent, hot, well presented. My only criticism, it could do with a face lift and new carpet. But we will call again.

On being told at the pub that they stop serving food at 7 (we arrived at 8) we were referred to this excellent restaurant. The food was fabulous and very tasty although pricey and the service was outstanding!

Me and my family ate here only once in august but found it to be a great experince as the food and service was excellent only wish we could have gone again but it was our last night

Unexceptional Chinese restaurant. We ordered crispy chilli beef (nowhere near crispy, and swimming in a sauce which seemed to be equal parts 2 parts soy to one part Bovril), duck in plum sauce (tasty duck, rather sickly sauce), a huge tub of unexciting mixed veg noodles and egg-fried rice. The takeaway service was okay (about 20 minutes) and the portion sizes were decent. No complimentary crackers, though this might have been a blessing in disguise! Two-and-a-half stars, really - it's not terrible, but I'd not go there again.

Take away very good, tried fried rice, duck, chips and noodles, every one was happy. Sit in a little pricey.

Saturday night and a meal for 6 people not booked in advance. Steady business at the take away counter/bar but personal attention to the diners throughout. Finish with proper China Tea.

Lovely friendly welcome as went in to order a takeaway. Reasonably priced and not too long of a wait. Ordered a beef satay and I must say, its the 2nd best satay that I've had in the U.K. Beef chop Suey was good too. Prawn crackers if i was too be honest tasted horrible. Overall good takeaway, worth a try.

After many mixed reviews of Talent House we decided to visit for ourselves on Tuesday evening. We arrived around 7.30pm and were quickly seated in the quiet dining room. The young man was attentive and quickly served our drinks and then left us to make our choice from the extensive menu. We decided on sweet and sour king prawns and chicken in honey lemon sauce, after only a short wait the well presented dishes were brought to our table. They looked and tasted delicious, they were generous portions as was the fried rice that accompanied them. Don't let other people's opinions put you off going here. We will be visiting again very soon after a very enjoyable meal.

Staying in the area and decided to try despite polarised reviews and wasn't disappointed. Tried special mixed starter with steamed dim sum, wontons and seaweed. It was as good as I've had in Chinatown in ?Manchester, if not better. We also tried king prawn in chilli and garlic and asked for extra hot. Absolutely delicious, fresh and lovely and spicy.

With very little choice in the area we decided to give this takeaway a try even though it was a 30 minute round trip to collect as they don't deliver! After reading some of the reviews below I thought it would be okay. Upon picking it up and seeing the 3 stars for hygiene I knew it was going to be bad. Bad didn't come close -it was the worst 'meal' I have ever tasted! Shredded 'chilli' chicken was pre cooked/reheated processed 'meat' with a jar of black soy sauce tipped over it-revolting! Crispy noodles tasted like straw and were well over cooked if not reheated. My mate had a special chow mein which he could not eat. Two out of the four of us had severe stomach cramps the next day which is no coincidence! I'm appalled that food like this can be served to people as edible and at such a high cost!If you value your health avoid at ALL costs!!
