Taksim Cafe in Haringey

I travelled 2 hours to return to Taksim (now Rosey's restaurant) which was one of my favourite places to go to in my old neighbourhood. While the food was still good, the staff rather shortsightedly, decided to rip us off by £15. When questioned, they did not even apologise and only offered to return £5 to us, charging us £10 for biryani rice (plain rice) when the biryani meal including grilled meet (which we did not order) was £15. This would mean that the grilled meet was worth £5 while the rice was £10. I don't think so. I did not enjoy being made a fool of and it really ruined all my nostalgic memories of one of my favourite places. When getting the bill, make sure it is itemised and matches the prices on the menu. Such a shame and left a really bad taste in my mouth. I don't why they did this. I would have left a tip, returned here and recommended it to others and now I feel compelled to warn others of the pitfalls. Very poor approach to running a hospitality business.

Popped in whilst we were in the area for brunch I had the chicken Shish wrap girlfriend had the poached egg and sausage The shish wrap was pretty awful…absolutely no taste whatsoever and that was including the chilli and garlic sauce…..really didn’t taste good and left over half The girlfriends poached eggs came hard boiled …again pretty tasteless but said the sucuk was decent Not a good experience at all and next time I’m passing by I’ll do exactly that

I am a 190kg man and I love my food. This place catered for me in such a manner that I felt like part of the family. Their gozleme was out of this world! such friendly such lovely people!

The lack of respect from the waiter was horrible. Waited 10 minutes to order , 5 minutes for a high chair. Waited 15 minutes for some part of the breakfast to come. Also waited 10 minutes for them to realise that our breakfast missing no one did realise until we pointed it out and by doing that the waiter dash our meal on our table. That was the point when we said that’s it we shouldn’t be treated like this as a loyal customer. As we left when spoke to the manager and all he did was apologise that he didn’t have enough staff today and that it was busy. I totally do not recommend because it totally shows that some people do not know how to run a busy and serve customers. It’s a waste of money and time.

A very homely and friendly place - great food, coffee and it's affordable. I also love the decor and atmosphere.

Whenever I come to Harringay Green Lanes and if I am hungry I always come here. This is my favorite cafe in the area and I think the best one too. The staff are very friendly, the food quality is good and the price is reasonable. I really like Lamb Glozme, it is delicious plus free salad on the side. I usually have a Ribena to drink or Turkish Tea. The price would be around £5.00. On a rare occasion I have tried the Turkish Breakfast which is superb plus you can Tea or Coffee complimentary. If you don't want to spend much money I suggest you try this place but only cash payment.

We went there last Saturday to eat Gozleme which was very tasty, the waitress was very helpful and service was quite fast. The only thing I didn't like was that they don't accept card payments which we were never told before we were seated. When we went to the till to pay I saw that it is written ''Cash Only'', then one of us needed go to find an ATM. I found that part bit annoying.

I visited for breakfast on my way into London to catch a train home. A varied menu at very reasonable prices. I had a "Turkish Breakfast #1" with egg, garlic sausage, feta cheese, salad and molasses jam with a small baguette. Excellent food and plenty of it. If i'd been in london longer I'd have worked my way through all the options. Good coffee too.

I ate here with my family as a group of 14. The staff were happy to accommodate us. The food was delicious, and really not expensive - especially for London. We ate untill full for only £10 each - even taking some home with us.

Recently visited this place. Good food, good service. Unfortunately they do not accept credit card payments there.

good was lovely customer service was great to ... the Turkish tea could be better the bread they do is nice and the iskender is really tasty :-)

We went there for Turkish breakfast and everything was amazing. Breads come fresh. I can advise you to try spinach and feta cheese gozleme also garlic sausage omelette. Highly recommend to everyone.

I bring today one gozleme spinach mushroom takeaway... Delicious! And the personal is very friendly :)

The gözleme and içli köfte are not as good as the place further up green lanes. The meat was full of gristle and the mozzarella one had hardly any filling. içli tasteless

It may not be the best place for Turkish food on Green Lanes, but I felt it was pretty good value for money. Gozleme's are very nice indeed, as mentioned in other reviews. The skylight over the dining area makes it a very agreeable place. One critic, the service was pretty slow and we had to remind the waitress several times for one of the item we ordered...

La calidad y cantidad de la comida está muy bien. Estuvimos 8 personas, 4 adultos y 4 niños y todos cenamos muy bien. Tienen menú de niños y los mayores con una carta amplia. La comida turca es original y no tan turística como los tradicionales kebap que te encuentras por ahí. El personal muy amable. Repetiríamos seguro y lo recomendamos si estáis por la zona de Green Line.

The good choice is Gozleme, but dont ask for lamb, is not good. They have good options with spinach and feta or spinach and humus. The place is clean and the decorations is very turkish. This place is located in Haringay,

Very welcoming staff, Ali is very helpful and nothing is too much trouble.The food is freshly prepared and served.Turkish tea is a great treat at the end of your meal :)

Estado en este lugar tres veces y hay muchas opciones en el menú he tenido problemas para decidir cada vez. Su Gozleme es deliciosa y buenas porciones de tamaño medio. Acabé pidiendo unos para llevar. Su Menemen también era perfecto. Algunos sitios lo hacen demasiado crudos o demasiado seco, este estaba delicioso. También muy agradable personal que hacen que te sientas como en su sala de estar como sus huéspedes.

Este lugar tiene la Gozleme más increíble, recién hecho en la parte delantera de la tienda y llena de sabrosos abundantes ingredientes. Este es el mejor que he probado en Londres! Una gran opción barata para el almuerzo.

Popped in for a snack, the turkish tea and gozleme was so good I bought 3 to take away and took them to my brothers as a lunch. With such great food on Green Lanes it is worth going to places for a specific dish and at Taksim it is tea and gozleme. Take your time to read the menu and choose what you want, get a range of flavours, ask for chilli if you want it. If you want one really fresh just ask for something off the menu that is not already made.

I went there with my friends we ordered vegetarian breakfast and they give us turkish sousage and butter We want change and the waitress. Did not changed the plate

I love the Guzleme (pancakes with different fillings) all made fresh in front of you by lovely ladies. The baklava, tea, coffee were all excellent. As for the service, it was very attentive and we were looked after very well.

This delightful little restaurant has opened recently and is definitely worth a try. Don't be put off by the wide-ranging menu - the Turkish dishes are authentic and homemade. We had mezze to start: hot sigara boreli pastries filled with feta, sucuk sausage and a £5 platter of houmous, cacik (like tzatziki), kisir (spicy wheat salad with tomato sauce) and satsuka (roasted vegetables). This came with the usual salad and Turkish bread. This was probably the best and cheapest mezze that I've had on Green Lanes - I will definitely be coming back for a mezze lunch. For mains we had chicken shish (nicely spiced - but could have done with some yoghurt or houmous on the side); and mixed grill (good chunks of lamb and chicken); and iskender kebab (lamb kofte with yoghurt and rice). All came with rice and salad. We were given free homemade baklava for dessert, which was utterly gorgeous. Annoyingly, we hadn't realised that it was cash-only (hopefully they will get a card machine soon!) and we weren't able to leave the generous tip that was deserved.
