Superb food ! One of the best meals in Indian cuisine that I have had . Must mention their chips as they were so good . Staff also very attentive and very welcoming and friendly.

From the moment you walk through the door you are welcomed with open arms! This place has the most beautiful ambiance, customer service and most importantly top quality food. We have been here a few times and I cannot stress enough that every time we have visited we have been met with exceptional customer service!Thank you Zak for looking after us!

A very tempting menu, and food beautifully cooked. COVID regulations all respected, we felt very safe.

Please don't order anything from this place. I order Mixed Grilled which was supposed to be sheik kabab, tandoori chicken and chicken peaces but its been delivered in same bag mix with Tandoori flavours so everything tatse Tandoori. Also ordered Murgh Puree and they have folded the puree in the same curry sauce which makes the puree soaked in the oil of curry. When called to speak Manager at the restaurant he said that's how we do and you can leave a review because we have many customers so your review doesn't effects us. I request customers not to order from here so they can treat customers as they should be. I have posted the pics too so you can see what I mean. Don't want to leave even 1 star for this service

Food quite expensive for what it was. The lamb in my bhuna was lovely and tender, but unfortunately it wasn’t seasoned well and had little taste. My partner had a chicken madras and again it had no real flavour and was fat too mild for a madras. A shame as not the cheapest place!

i ordered what i wanted and they cancelled the order after charging me! avoid at all costs! i called them up and the manager said there was nothing he can do. absolute w*****s

I can't comment on the food because we never got to try it. They cancelled our order because they decided we needed rice even though we didn't order it - really?? Deciding what I personally want to eat? Who tf does that?Called to receive what can only be described as the attitude of a three-toed sloth; did not care for us at all and couldn't be bothered to just make the food we wanted. Offered no help of a refund - apparently "Ubereats will deal with it". Just so, so disappointing.

This REVIEW has been a long time coming...Our family - at times including our extended family for special occasions - have continued to choose Takdir as our CHOICE Indian takeaway and restaurant. The food - over the weeks, months and years- has been consistently delicious fuelling fantastic family feasts and making fond memories with loved ones.The portions are extremely generous (especially the takeout set-menu banquet) which is matched by the highest hospitality (including when we are sit-in guests).The Team (including it's management) are genuine, personable, polite with a cheerful demeanour throughout our families many 'Takdir'.This review is a culmination of the last 10 years of living in Whitley Bay - a TRUE 5 stars

Ordered takeaway for two. Excellent website and menu with easy ordering. Went to collect and everything ready and meal was perfection.

A deaf couple that always rely on lipreading due to coronavirus situation with everyone having to use their facemasks for the rules which is understandable but... what a super staff with extra deaf aware by helping us with easy visuals, writing notes and easy use of communication that made us super relaxed, lush drinks, and amazing spicy food that had us satisfied. Perfect! I used to spent a lot of time at Takdir many years ago at the old premises when I was young and single. The lovely service is still the same, they are so friendly, efficient and helpful. I made a mistake and booked for the wrong night, despite being fully booked on a Saturday night they managed to slot us in. Amazing Covid one way system, constant cleaning, disposable menus and sanitizer. Really well organised. Food was perfect, good delay between courses and super efficient. Loved the lamb Dhansak. Needed to be rolled out after ha. The young girl looking after us was soooo helpful, definitely made for a career in hospitality.

What a fabulous freshly cooked meal my sister and I had here! Great service too during a difficult period of curfew for Covid. I can’t recommend highly enough.

Just finished a takeaway from Takdir and have to say that it’s the best we’ve had in a very long time.Chicken Pathia, Lamb Tikka Massalla Punjabi-style and Mixed Meat Gamechanger...all absolutely gorgeous! Oh, had lamb chops too and they were sooo tender and tasty.Takdir’s on top form....well done and many thanks indeed.

We visited Takdir last week. The food was tasty, the staff were attentive and the service was great. Would definitely recommend.

I had herd great things about this restaurant and take away, so we decided To give it a try. We had herd it gets very busy so you need to order early to get your meal delivered when you want. We did this but it came 25 minutes late. The meals were so bland and had no taste at all. I got the wrong nan bread which was like cardboard. It was also one of the most expensive takeaways we had. I’m sorry but we shall not be going back here again.

Wow o wow, had the most amazing meal at Takdir. In fact it’s the best Indian meal that I have ever tasted. The service was excellent and it was extremely good value for money. In fact, when we are returning home on Friday, we will make a detour so we can have another meal here!

Well where to start! Best Indian meal I have had in a long time. I will not be going anywhere else, the food, service everything about my meal was amazing. I had the same meal last week at a different Indians in whitley bay and Takdir has just blown it out of water. Will most definitely be back!!! Thank you keep it up guys x

Absolutely amazing food, very friendly, professional service. A little noisier that we would have liked but not the restaurants fault. Food was absolutely delicious. Second visit which was as good as the first despite COVID measures in place.

Visited this evening with my husband, fantastic food and one of the best Indians I have had. I had the king prawn curry which was so fresh and juicy king prawns. My husband had Lamb bhuna which was beautifully cooked to perfection. Will definitely be back!

Okay, I've reviewed the Takdir previously but, given that we've just spent a week in the NE and we had no idea whether the Takdir would be open (fully or just for take-aways) due to Covid-19, we had to re-visit our favourite Indian restaurant in the area.We shouldn't have worried. It was fully open and so popular that we had to book a table in advance. The interior was well laid out to ensure a degree of social distancing. The place was spotlessly clean and the food was excellent.Service was great (special mention is deserved for Chloe who was helpful and attentive when we needed something.). We genuinely enjoyed it so much, we visited three times during our six night stay in Whitley Bay.

My self and partner popped into the Takdir on a busy sunday evening for a takeaway. We were met as always by the amazingly helpful staff and were quickly given a drink while we waited in the beautiful bar area. I ordered the tandoori mixed grill and my partner had the lamb roganjosh. My partner had mentioned to the waiter that we were celebrating my birthday and upon reciving our food the manager very kindly informed us that they had added some tandoori lamb chops and spicey garlic chips all free of charge to accompany the meal. And I must say all the food we had was exceptional as was the customer service that we recieved. In my opinion the Takdir is the best Indian restaurant in the Norht East and i can not recommend it enough. Well done guys

absolutely fantastic service from the off, the value for the quality of food you get is absolutely outstanding, from the condiment tray to the main, which would feed 2 people, is a different class to anywhere in the area. The difference in this place compared to takeaways that I thought were nice is actually shocking. You can tell the chef and the cooks take pride in the food they make, to have this top quality food pitch in an area where there's alot of restaurants who claim to be the best, this is THE BEST. could go on and on about this restaurant, from the set out and atmosphere, to the food but find out for yourself...

Meal was ok. Customer service disgusting, talking at us and not to us. Not paying attention to us. Practically Throwing the meals down on table, we had to swap over meals because he “served” us wrong cause he didn’t listen or care. The “Pepsi” was AWFUL and I couldn’t drink it. It just wasn’t a friendly service , you’d think they’d be great ful for the custom seeing as there’s LOADS more curry houses that we could have gone to but we choose this one, which we won’t be doing again..... I hear Shikara is good? I mean it’s only up the road too. Friendly customer service when you are competing with several other curry houses is key. There’s nothing special about takdir.

Rang for meal delivery and was charged over £10 on website menu. Informed their prices had risen but website had not been updated. Advertised for discount on takeaway but this was disallowed because meal was being delivered. Also £3 delivery charge. Advertised meal was £24 but charged £37. Disgusting. Will definitely not be using this restaurant again. Such a shame as the food is good.

We’ve heard so many good reviews about this place , we finally booked a table to enjoy our first meal in a restaurant since March. Food , service and the overall experience was considering the guidelines that are now in place. We had a 5 course banquet each which consisted of poppadoms , onion Bhajis chicken balti and madras. Rice dishes , spicy chips and a chicken tikka naan. Everything was absolutely beautiful . Excellent staff felt safe and at ease with the safety measures . Deffo recommend and looking forward to our next visit .

We ordered from here on Sunday night and the food arrived freshly cooked, hot and delicious. The Takdir pathia lamb was a particular highlight and I am already looking forward to having it again! There was a generous portion of lamb and every piece was melt-in-the-mouth tender.

We had our first take out in lockdown last night from Takdir. We travelled from Morpeth after seeing a post on Facebook of the new flatbreads. We ordered a mixed meat and a chicken flatbread and took down to the beach to eat, they were that good we ended up ordering another one to eat on the way home!! Amazing food and top class service. We will definitely be back.

An excellent restaurant. I’ve often visited and the atmosphere is beautiful. They have always been busy, the menu selections are varied, and the personable attentive staff really know about the dishes. Recently tried the delivery service during lockdown for a sunny evening outside. Food arrived by the time specified, piping hot and was glorious. Would fully recommend.

Had an amazing takeaway from Takdir , the food was outstanding, delivered on time. The special Banquet is fabulous value and quantity is superb. Wouldn’t have a takeaway from anywhere else as no other could compete with the standard. So pleased Takdir have reopened and doing takeaways for us. Appreciate all the staff very much, thankyou. Can’t wait for the next one.

Visited here last night. I wasn’t feeling well so didn’t touch my meal but asked to take it away. The 2 cartons contained my partners meagre leftovers and some rice. Not happy 😡. Where did that full meal go???

This is the first time we’ve been here and did so on the recommendation of Trip Advisor recommendations- I was not disappointed. This is a busy restaurant but the food was timely, very hot and really, really tasty. Service was excellent, even though it was a busy Saturday night, the staff were calm and worked well together. Wine was lovely and served with a bottle of water with ice/ lemon. And the toilets were very clean. We will definitely be back.

I visited with my blind friend who is a guide dog user. The staff were very thoughtful and friendly. Water was provided for the dog and the table had room for her too. The food was lovely and service exceptional. The access is flat so wheelchair users would find access easy too. Well done to all and a very sincere ‘thank you’.

Came across here by accident. Brilliant food, great value. They do a keema curry which is hard to find in an Indian restaurant. The decor inside is fantastic, some booths with chandeliers over them. They also have a cocktail menu which is good prices. Just a shame we don’t live here or we would be in there every week. Will return if we are in the area again. Great staff as well

Good value for money at £10.95 for a three course evening meal the Takdir is worth a visit to sample the shonda menu. There’s a limited choice on this menu but something for everyone with different levels of spice available. Definitely worth a visit.

The fairly recent refurb has transformed this place into a luxury restaurant with excellent food, service and decor. Highly recommend and will go again for sure.

It was an excellent meal staff were lovely , we didn’t wait long for anything considering they were very busy and had a large party in.

The service was quick and friendly the food was very filling. After half my plate i was very full and it was very tasty. There were many choices and the overall experience is great but the only problem is it’s a little pricey. Would highly recommend to go as a group or family

Went here on New Year’s Eve, booked a table, arrived but had to wait nearly an hour for a table, other couples who arrived after us were seated first. A table of 8 were asked to come back in an hour and half, when they came back there was still no table!

Great choice and food is delicious. Very pleasant staff. Telephoned order in and collected it within half hour.

We were attending the playhouse and wanted an indian beforehand...hotel had said this place was popular...so off we go to try it. We hadnt booked but was first through the door at 5.30 and told would need table back by 7pm- not a problem as show was 7.30pm. We ordered drinks and our meals and very shortly afterwards they arrived-great no problem there.... However our food came in such quick succession it took longer to finish our drinks than to eat!! Never felt so rushed and they werent that busy to warrant the rushing. Girls serving were lovely but guy on front desk wasnt too friendly. Whilst the food was nice it was quite over priced..

Love this restaurant!! It's always been my favourite Indians to visit, but we went last night and had the early bird menu which was really good value. The food was the best we've ever had there, it was amazing. The service was fab, anything we asked for drinks, dips etc were over within seconds. The restaurant itself is beautiful aswell, 100% better than any of the Indians I've been to around Whitley Bay and Newcastle.

One of the best Indian restaurants I have been in a long time. Staff so helpful, nice surroundings and very clean. Good varied menu. Food was so tasty , mix kebab starter was the best iv ever had the meats where top quality and the lamb was so moist and tender (cut like butter) I highly recommend this restaurant.

I’ve already left a glowing review for the many takeaways I’ve had, but after eating in the restaurant for the first time in years I feel compelled to do the same.

I was told I'd be going to the Takdir by a friend who was treating me to a surprise birthday meal. The place looked beautiful inside and very cosy. Was asked where we'd like to sit and found a comfy booth. Staff were fantastic and so friendly. They'd been told that it was being booked for a 60th birthday surprise and as the final course was being served the staff brought over a slice of chocolate mud cake with a firework in and they all sang happy birthday. Very nice end to a great night. The food was terrific and can't wait to go back again.

We booked a table on New Year’s Eve and to book £70 was taken from our card. On arriving surprised and disappointed to be told only set menu with no sides for £35 per person.

Have walked past a few times when we've been visiting and last night decided to book a table. Very pleased with the service and the food. The menu was a little different from others but certainly as good if not better and the price was comparable. Will definitely book again the next time we come up here

Visited this restaurant now on a couple of occasions with work colleagues and found it to be excellent value for money. Lovely surroundings and really nice food as well, worth a visit when in the area.

On a recent Sunday afternoon prior to a visit to the nearby Whitley Bay Playhouse we opted to the evening Shonda menu which offers a nice choice of 1-3 courses and essentially a start, any curry and desert options. One of us opted for onion bhaji and the other the tandoori mixed grill. Both arrived swiftly and were decent portions and very nice.

Been here 2 weeks in a row on a Monday evening. Lovely warm clean restaurant and very friendly and professional service from a lovely young lady called chloe. The food is excellent we had the special which is excellent value for money I would def recommend and will be returning soon.

First time we have been for a few years, was always excellent food. Tonight the food was delicious, brilliant atmosphere, great staff, and good price. Me and my husband had a lovely night, has been extended and decorated since our last visit, it looks fab! Had a Fab night will definitely be back soon.

The guest experience and customer service was phenomenal. They were flexible and tailored the banquet set menu to our wants. The dishes were delicious and extremely generous in their portion sizes. Thank you so much Team Takdir! :-)

Visited Takdir with some friends this evening.

First visit but definitely not our last, very tasty food, great customer service and very clean. Presentation of food was lovely too.

We were visiting our granddaughter and staying in a hotel near to the Takdir restaurant. We really fancied an Indian meal, after a really busy day we thought we would take a chance and see if they could squeeze us in. Upon entering the restaurant the atmosphere was amazing with many large groups happily eating, chatting and enjoying themselves. We asked if they could squeeze us in and we were offered the only table left. They were very apologetic as it literally was their last table. We sat down and actually said that we did not expect very good service as we were in a corner and that they were so busy. Well it was the exact opposite. We could not have had better service. In fact it was exemplary. They had plenty of staff and our order was taken, our drinks arrived promptly and the same with our starters and main meal. We received food suggestions for our young granddaughter. The meal was delicious, the atmosphere was wonderful. In fact could not fault anything. Just perfect.

Takdir is an absolute gem in the thriving food scene in Whitley Bay. Gorgeous venue with cracking views, excellent selection of drinks (including 2 for £10 cocktails), attentive and friendly service, good value and above all delicious, freshly made excellent quality food. Well worth a visit.

Had a takeaway from here last night I had a vegetable madras and two onion bhajis the onion bhajis were lukewarm and my vegetable madras was very bland I have eaten here many times and the food is Usually great very disappointed with the food I received last night

A local resident recommended Takdir for a evening meal while staying at Whitley bay. We were not disappointed. It was a beautiful meal served by very polite and informative staff. They asked about allergies without having to ask which I thought was a very good way forward in today's awareness regarding this subject. They generally cared about this plus being naturally polite.

We ate in here whilst staying nearby for the Great North Run. The decor was beautiful, the service fantastic and the food was amazing. We ate off the set menu and it was brilliant value for money. Would highly recommend a visit!

This restaurant has a great value set menu, but I fancied an aubergine starter, so ordered from the full menu.

Have been to this restaurant a few times and it’s always lovely. Particularly like the takder wrap made with a nan , and salad . Staff professional and friendly.

I opted for the takeaway service. I can honestly say this is one of the best indian meals I have had, everything cooked to perfection. Spices and flavourings spot on, onion bhajis, king prawn dhansak, prawn madras, lamb byriani, bombay aloo, selection of rice and cheese and onion naan bread, delicious. Also 6 complimentary poppadoms thrown in. It's a shame I'm not local, can't wait to try again when I next visit the area. Highly recommended.

Lovely meal in a Monday evening. I visited with my husband and 15 year old daughter. We all had a different curry and rice/ naan and they were all delicious.

Visited here twice during our break to Whitley bay as we enjoyed the food so much! We had a mixed sharing starter so we could try a little bit of everything, would highly recommend! First visit I had the chicken jalfrezi which and the second visit tried the chicken tikka Kathmandu which is one of the signature dishes both were absolutely delicious! Staff are very attentive and super friendly! Always on top of getting plates cleared and offering drinks! 2 for £10 cocktail offer was fab and the pornstar martinis are delicious! This place is a must try when in Whitley bay! Will definitely be back.

Nice little family meal , the banquet menu is great , good value for money. The food was super tasty and huge portions ! Naan bread was super fresh! Will 100% be visiting again !

We booked a table for 10pm which we thought gave us enough time after a show we had been to at The Playhouse, however, we didn't get there until 10.20pm and the staff were no bothered about this and welcomed us. We had nice drinks and the food was exceptional. I ordered Tandoor King Prawn starter for a main meal as I have a small appetite and when it came there was a lot of salad with it which I love and the size of the prawns was akin to two mini lobsters and full of taste, juicy and hot. My husband had a lamb vindaloo which he said was exceptional. The naan breads were good too, nice and 'doughy' - just how I like them. The bill was extremely reasonable too. We will definitely go back whenever we are back in Whitley Bay.

We went for our anniversary on a friend’s recommendation and we were not disappointed. A warm welcome on arrival, excellent service throughout and a wonderful meal.

Staying over for 1 night in whitley bay and just took a chance and walked down to find food and came across this lovely looking place looked busy which is a good sign so went in and from minute we stepped in they all couldn't be nicer considering we hadn't booked they fitted us in the service was 100% and just wow the food is AMAZING I have honestly never tasted anything as good from starter to mains was all just lush worth every penny and all staff so happy and helpful lovely little find big well done to chef and all staff x
