Great atmosphere and great food

Looks not much from the outside, inside there is a fine selection of beers, cyders and spirits. The pub is decorated with the artwork of the landloerd Kev ands is brilliant. Being former Navy I loved the seascapes and naval themed artwork. Thursday night was pool night a great mix of people, friendly and fun. We went in Friday and had a meal, steaks cokked to perfection and my burger was outstanding., homemade and excellent quality. We wdre visiting friends in the area and look forward to visiting again

What an epic pub! The food is excellent and very good value, we had a burger and a Thai curry and both were top class. The landlord is an artist and the pub is full of amazing paintings for sale....the only difficulty is choosing one! Highly recommend this pub!

Great food. The New Yorker burger is the best burger I've ever eaten. One of my go to pubs. Lovely people and Kev is a brilliant chef. Proper home made chips and a scrummy salad. Definitely recommend you try it for yourselves.

One of my favourite pubs of all time. Just the one well-kept beer this time. Perfect, and personalised, beanburger and chips etc. Ace staff. Interesting people. Last weekend the Dyfi valley was flooded side-to-side a foot deep at Mach, and the bridge was shut, but our cycling group rode through it all just to get to the pub! We were that keen (and wet) ;-). Unfortunately I refuse to tell you where it is because I don't want to spoil it for my next visit. Oh, er, hang on.... ;-).

We have returned to this village pub often in the last few years. Food is excellent with a good selection of homemade vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes, all well prepared and beautifully cooked . The Tafarn has a wide selection of wines beers and soft drinks. Friendly staff and all customers are made to feel welcome.

Looks can be deseptive ! We went on a recommendation. Not your normal looking pub both inside and out but the beer was good and food great . We would return

An amazing little village pub nestled away in quiet valley. Traditional local pub!

We were staying in a cottage nearby and went in on both nights of our stay with our 10 year old. He played pool with one of the other customers, we had the most gorgeous food and we were made to feel very welcome. The staff are great; it's very laid back and the regulars are a great bunch. Free pool and darts, games, a piano... it's got everything so if you are in the area, don't miss out !

We've walked past many times and never given it a second thought, but we had a recommendation from the lovely Italian lady working in Idris Stores to give it a try. Well. We will definitely be back. Great, relaxed atmosphere - friendly locals and a very chilled vibe, like most of Corris/ Mach. Great beer and wonderful home made burgers - just fuss free grub with loads of flavour in a cosy atmosphere where you could either browse the paintings for sale, read a book or just put your feet up. We really really had a great meal and will definitely go again next time we're in town.

Great friendly local traditional pub

It was pure chance that we found this place. Me and two colleagues had traveled about three hours to mid wales for providing ambulance cover for rally GB overnight and during the day for the dyfi forest stages. When we finally arrived we asked security if there was somewhere for food near by and they directed us to this little pub down the road. When we arrived at the pub it was almost 2200 so we figured our chances would be slim. We asked the barmaid if there was any chance of food and she told us that she didn’t think so but would check. Sadly after checking we were told that it wouldn’t be possible. However the chef then came over and saw us and he offered us a couple of items on the menu that were hot meals. While he wasn’t able to serve the full meals he managed to single handidly cook the most amazing meals that me and my colleagues had the luck of experiencing. Honestly this place deserves 10/5 stars for how fantastic the staff was and then the food as well. The decor was amazing and rather amusing in places and it was fantastically warm which made it more delightful. The spot was obviously a favourite for all the rally GB volunteers/vets but that’s no surprise. If I’m ever passing again I’d definitely be stopping here to try out the full menu. And anyone I know who is passing is definitely be telling them this is the place to stop for food.

Couldn’t recommend this little pub/restaurant highly enough if you’re in the area. We stayed locally in a tipi (no hot running water or electricity) and made the drive to civilisation for some comfort food and chilled drinks one evening - it was well worth the trip! There’s a very welcoming atmosphere and considering the small number of covers they cater for a great selection on the menu, including a number of vegetarian options. As far as I could tell everything was cooked fresh; both me and my accomplice thoroughly enjoyed our burgers (I went for the black bean option, with added cheese) and the chips were the best I’ve had in a long time!

Super schnelle Bedienung, Essen kommt fix. Reservierung ist eigentlich erforderlich zum Essen, aber das ließ sich auch ma so regeln. Es gibt hier diverse vegane Burger.

Fantastic pub, great food and beer, very friendly.

Don't let the exterior of the building put you off, it's a bit tired. We had a spicy bean burger and beef burger which came with these amazing home made chunky fries and a generous salad with warm peppers. The meal was delicious and satisfying and we were so pleased we searched out this place based on....you guessed it Trip advisor reviews! It was really friendly, very good value and we were very impressed.

Small, friendly village pub (check opening days and times that food is served) with fantastic staff that made us feel very welcome. The menu was wide enough to be interesting and every single person there during our visit complimented the staff on the quality and flavour of the food: very generous portions as well. Several vegan options available, which is good to see. Decent local ales were much appreciated Free pool table and darts board, rustic surroundings but with an art gallery for a dining room. What's not to like? Toilets were immaculate too

Wir spazierten von unserem Quartier in Corris zur Tafarn Dwynant und waren mehr als positiv überrascht: ein einladendes, schönes Lokal, freundliche Menschen und hervorragendes Essen. Insbesondere die Burger sind sehr zu empfehlen. Weil wir so begeistert waren, kamen wir auch noch ein zweites Mal.

I found this place on Tripadvisor and took my boyfriend for dinner when we were away for his birthday. We both had burgers and they were delicious. The burgers and baps are both home-made, the chips were chunky and home-made, and the accompanying salad was also noteworthy (and contained, amongst other things, gherkins and cooked mushroom - yum yum). I love finding a place where it feels like the chefs really care about good food and this little pub ticked all the boxes for us.

This place looks nothing special from the outside, but it is a revelation when you get in. Very warm and friendly welcome, eclectic decor and the owners’s artworks make it special, and the excellent food and beer continue the theme. I have recently moved to the area to run a holiday lets business and we recommend Tafarn Dwynant to all of our guests, especially as we are a dog-friendly business. Such a treat to find a pub with lots of locals as well as visitors.

I was running with friend's in a race from Holyhead to Cardiff, we had been running in cold and rain and i was seriously concerned about how cold i was getting and needed shelter and a hot meal.

Un amigo presentó su a este lugar. Es muy amable. A través de la puerta y hay una bienvenida de gente y todo el mundo. Aquí la gente mente y charlar. Buena cerveza, vino bien. El menú es muy tipo pero muy buena. Se establece para hacer lo que hace y lo hace, brillantemente.

Alojarse en Aberhosan ligeramente más al sur-este de este pub excelente, nos fiamos de tripadvisor bastante mucho para encontrar buenos restaurantes de calidad y lugares a visitar durante nuestra escapada en familia.

Great little village pub. Very friendly owners. Always greeted with a smile and welcome. Lovely homemade food, nothing is too much to ask. Dogs incredibly welcome.

Just a mile walk from the Centre of Alternative Technology is this little gem of a pub. From the outside you could almost miss it as it has a look of an art gallery, and does indeed display local work both inside, and in a large outside display window.The first time we visited we weren't hungry, but were camping and it was rainy so we came for warmth and a drink. But the smells seduced us into visiting the following evening.The menu is quite short, specialising in steaks and burgers. Doesn't sound great but was actually fabulous. And there were very few desserts, but they were local or inhouse and divine.In short, a small but comfortable and friendly pub with great food and drink.

We recently stayed in Ceinws for two nights, and visited Tafarn Dwynant both nights - lovely food, quiet local character and a bargain to boot! We will definitely go back next time we visited - perfect local pub.

The family & I visited this little pub over Easter. What a beautifuly unique & cosy pub. The hospitality of the owners Kev & Abbey was off the scale, you feel more like you're being welcomed into a their home rather than a public house. Kev managed to serve us our drinks on arrival & then donned his apron & proceeded to make the best meals we've had for a long long time, a standard that's very hard Rio match in this part of Wales. They also have lots of interesting paintings for sale from scenes around the local area etc. As it turns out Kev is not just a top publican & all round nice guy but he can paint too.This pub should be on everyone's list of things to do & see when visiting this part of Wales. I can't recommend it enough.

We have eaten here quite a few times over the years and recommend it to all our guests, really really good pub grub, in a traditional pub atmosphere. Great real ales, very friendly too!We have twice bought our staff here to the end of season party and they manage really well with big parties. Thoroughly recommend it to all who like very good homemade food, good beer and a good atmospere. There is no pretence with it!

Stopped here while touring through Wales. Lovely people, Fantastic food, authentic pub, our friend declared his burger the best he ever had and hasn't stopped talking about it. Can't wait to get back.

This is a very special tavern; small, independent, atmospheric and understated.They have a great selection of local brews at the bar, and some wonderful events like the folk night once a month.A wood-burning stove and (in-tune) piano complete the scene for me.I have eaten here once and the food was delicious, a great variety especially for somewhere so remote, and imaginative recipes.I would say the portion sizes are a little on the small side, but that would be my only slight complaint for a wonderful local establishment which I will happily revisit.

Have eaten here many a time as very convenient to corris caravan park. The food here is delicious & unique. The steaks are mouthwatering & tender & the pot dishes such as curry & paprika pork are original to this very welcoming establishment. Highly recommended!
