Had an overnight stay at Premier Inn to celebrate my grandsons 5th birthday as we were visiting a couple of local attractions. There was a good choice of breakfasts for all our age ranges from 5 to 70. Angela was just lovely and nothing was too much trouble for her. She was tremendous with the birthday boy and made his day with her very kind gesture. Would definitely go again. The food the previous evening was also good although service a little slow because there was a large party in. However this didn't affect the quality of our food. Staff also presented Cooper with his birthday cake which he was delighted with. Thanks to all staff.

This is a fantastic wee find! Great staff, in particular my server Therese, very welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble. There are a few nice tables tucked away for solo dining which is nice to see. Food is pretty standard, but cooked nicely and everything I had was tasty. In particular, the banoffee cheesecake which was absolutely delicious 😋

Visited here for a weekday catch up with friends and was very pleased with everything. Food is standard pub/restaurant fayre, good food, well cooked and lovely and hot when it arrived. I had the smothered chicken, my friends had chicken tikka and the big stack burger and everything was lovely and tasty. Will definitely come back here again, especially since we now know they have an £11.99 special for 2 mains during the week! Top stuff!

In over 30 years of staying in hotels, I have never had a worse experience. I have to travel a lot with work and stay in 15/18 hotels monthly and honestly, this was the worst yet I reserved a room in the attached Premier Inn, I selected dinner and breakfast package. I then reserved a table for 21:00 which was the last time slot on the menu I drove over from Ireland to arrive at 20:50, to be told our table was cancelled. They cancelled our table at 16:00, said they tried calling but I had no missed calls The place was empty so someone decided feck them, we will cancel the one table booked The attitude was terrible No wonder the place is empty, ask yourselves manager and owners, the car park was full with people staying in the premier inn, why can’t we fill a few tables Instead of price promotions, hire staff that actually care about your business and your customers

Not what we expected poor service and prices are on the high side staff are rude and unwelcoming the menu was changing overnight and items clearly not available

The staff were welcoming,friendly and helpful, the breakfast was good value and very tasty although not particularly warm. What spoiled the experience for me, was the disgusting state of the smoking area, out side the entrance of the building, the place for discarded cigarette butts was full to the brim, all round the lovely stones were hundreds of butts, the place looked an absolute mess, there was a family of Americans in the restaurant, God knows what they must have thought seeing that. It wouldn’t take long for someone to clear it up at least once a week . It’s a shame cause the building is really lovely.

A review of 2 halves Breakfast - really good. Full English was available. It was hot and replenished frequently (eggs, bacon, sausages, amazing hash browns, beans, black pudding). The continental was also plentiful with a good range of granola, crispness, pancakes, pastries, yoghurt, fruit, toast, spreads etc. Coffee, tea and orange and apple juice available. All you could eat. Staff took our names and we were left to our own devices to choose a table and help ourselves. Plenty of times to choose from in a nice warm dining room. Dinner We were shown to a table which had a draft and was really cold, completely different to the warm breakfast room. We ordered food and drinks. Our food arrived about 15-20mins later but drinks were nowhere to be seen. We asked for them to be chased and they came out 5minutes after that. The food was good. Pie, chips, gammon and scampi. (They didnt have any lasagne). It came out hot and was nice. Everyone cleared their plates. It was standard pub grub but there was a lot to choose from and something for everyone. Service wasn't good. No-one was in the same uniform although there did appear to be one of sorts, the person we think was the manager was dressed down in casual clothes and looked quite scruffy. One young waitress was asked to do something by her and told her she was going to do something else first. Seemingly dismissive of the request. We asked for the bill as the plates were cleared and then we had to ask again afterwards after getting the dress down lady's attention. Other people were going to the bar to collect their drinks themselves the service was so slow. It wasn't busy either so no idea what the hold up was. Once we got the bill no-one came to take payment so we went to the bar where another customer was also trying to pay. So overall breakfast was brilliant and the food across both sittings was good. But the evening staff really let the venue down by their lack of efficient service and attention to customers.

Absolutely loved our breakfast for the family this morning. Extremely good value for money. Staff so kind too as we got there a bit late. Thanks.

We had visited the previously as a large family so we accrued several vouchers for meals with the loyalty scheme, the first night the manager was working, every thing was fine but the second night was a disaster, we ordered the food which took about an hour and a half to be fully served, there was about 10 of us , 2 meals came out after about 20 minutes, but the wrong order , I approached the bar area several times to enquire on the food, to the end it just became a joke, the duty manager a young lady just said what could she do , she then blamed our party for not booking a table , ?!?! Don’t know why that was relevant, she then blamed us again for using the loyalty vouchers, another young lady tried to resolve the situation by offering a sweat or hot beverages, then another young lady chipped in by saying she was only 17 and didn’t get paid to resolve issues like this, I explained at NO point was any agressive or bad language used to which she said the fact I’d complained at the bar was not right, or something in that manor , I do think that the young 17 year old and the cook should keep there relationship behind closed doors, as it’s not professional kissing behind the bar and in from of customers, the food did eventually come out cold but by this time all faith was lost in the table table Dumfries, we visited Dumfries several times a year and this place will not be visited again, please if anyone from whitbreads wants to contact me please do so,

AWFUL. Waited 45mins for order to be taken, then told that what we wanted wasn’t available! Ended up with a meal we didn’t want which took another 30mins to arrive. Didn’t look anything like the photograph.. Meal so awful sent it back to kitchen. Retired to bed hungry(stayed overnight at Premier Inn) Breakfast not much better,poor quality and COLD. We went as a family , because my Grandson was home from Uni in Dundee , he is 21, and with his Sister 14, Mum Dad Grandmother and Grandfather, the waitress asked for ID when he ordered a pint of Guinness , he did not have his id with him, but as he was with 4 adults from his family, and not a group of young people, i would have thought our assurances that he was over age would have been enough. No , she would not take our word for it. and he had coke . We booked the table for 6pm, and it was 7.15 before our meal arrived, with some items missing. No one returned to our table to ask if we needed anymore drinks, so i went to the bar, there were 4 members of staff stood talking around the till area, i ordered drinks and one of the orders was for a pint of Guinness , the waitress immediately snapped "who is this for !?" .... I said it was for my husband, he is 70, so i did not think there should be an issue, ... I was then told that there was no Guinness .... !! .... I cant help thinking if my Grandson had ordered larger, he may not have been asked for id ! ..... Anyway, The food took forever, it was not that great, there were items missing, the service was terrible, slow, and not at all friendly staff , all in all what should have been a nice family meal was rubbish. Wont be back .

Arrived around 7.15 for a 7.30 table. Ordered the food at the bar 10 minutes later. 8 adult meals and a kids meal. 1 hour and 40 minutes later, a child’s ice cream sundae arrived. This was ordered as the kids 3 course deal but as the starter or main course hadn’t arrived yet, this was sent back to the kitchen. 2 meals came out 5 minutes later. The curry was cold and the scampi and chips on the other meal were cold. 20 minutes had passed until another 4 meals came out, 1 was completely wrong but the restaurant would be closed by the time we got it if we had to order another meal to replace it. We had to keep asking at the bar where the meals were as they were all ordered at the same time. The staff behind the bar have every excuse under the sun as to why the meals are delayed. So this is obviously a common occurrence. 15 minutes later the last meals arrive at the table. The only 2 hot meals of the night. Some members of the staff are unable to deal with any complaint and one started to make a scene as they stormed away behind the bar making comments about the complaints made. We were informed there were waitresses brought into the kitchen to make these meals we are waiting on. Absolutely shocking if you ask me. The offer was free desserts as a gesture. I’m sorry but it was past 9pm at this point. Do not expect good service or a kind response if you need to send anything back to the kitchen. I mean, hospitality is reported to be on its knees. You think there would be some sort of effort put into resolving these situations if it’s a common theme in this place. Absolutely no chance any of the party who come 4 or 5 times a year will return to the restaurant after the service tonight.
