Syriana in Birmingham

I orderd 5 shawarma in eid day, 15 min before get there, i waited 20 min in the restaurant to take the wraps, i got boiled chicken with no garlic sauce, minimum amount of chicken in the wrap. I dont think this is shawarma.

Really fantastic restaurant. I was first in at opening time and was shown to a very comfortable table. Waitress was so friendly. Food delicious and perfectly priced in my opinion. Would return if back in Brum again!

It was such a nice experience and that the food was really good and tasty and i was served by Sarah and i can vouch that she has the best customer service and was treated really well by Sarah I feel like she deserves a raise and tbh she made my sisters day by being so kind and generous Big up to the staff at syriana

We were going to see Editors at the 02 Academy, were booked into Holiday Inn at Snowhill / Constitution Hill & needed to grab some food. My husband had found Syriana in an online search of nearby places. Possibly some of the best service we’ve had in a while (our server was lovely & knowledgable) and wonderful food. Little extras like complimentary flatbread, hummus & pickles, then mint tea at the end. The vermicelli rice was a revelation. Visually beautiful food and totally delicious.

The food was absolutely amazing but what was more amazing was Sarah's 10/10 service.

Wonderful food, great value and super nice staff. We had the set menu and loved it. Slightly out of town centre on way towards Jewellery Quarter, very convenient for Holiday Inn express Snowhill. Doesn't look all that from outside but definitely worth a visit for great food and a wonderful evening.

Brought my wife here for her birthday meal last night. Four adults two teenagers and an 8 yo. Food was absolutely amazing, breads and salads super fresh, humus was great, the Beirut style humus even more so. All the meats were cooked to perfection, the lamb kofta with tahini and yoghurt sauce was the best thing I've eaten since I moved to Birmingham five years ago. We ate early so it was quiet but the music was decent, food came quick, service was good, and the bill for seven of us with starters mains and drinks came to @£125. We'll definitely be going back to Syriana.

Amazing dinner! Very nice food, service and atmosphere! I will repeat 100%!!

Food was absolutely delightful. I had Moussaka and my partner had lamb, both with rice. For starters we had hot & cold mezze selection. I had to restrain myself from licking the plate. The menu didn't show alcoholic drinks but the server informed us that they did have a selection of wine and beers. However, we stuck with the non alcoholic drinks and had fresh fruit juices (tasted freshly squeezed) and a mint and lemon drink that was very refreshing. We were served complementary mint tea after our main course and finished with some baklava which was lovely and sticky and full of pistachio. Restaurant was fairly quiet for a Friday night, there were only three other tables in use when we arrived at 20:30, but they seemed to have a lot of take away orders. Will definitely be visiting again.

Very nice restaurant. Can't fault the food. We enjoyed everything we had. I has seabass, partner had lamb and sis in law had minced lamb. The service we recieved was good, the waiter/ owner was very freindly and efficient. Good value for money too.

Food is very good, good size portions and reasonable price. A great choice for a place just outside of the city centre.

Went here for a staff meal. The, atmosphere, service and food was amazing. Special thanks to Sara for being our such a hospitable waitress. Definitely recommend the mixed grill, the soups and falafel and hummus.

Walked in to a very warm welcome, friendly and helpful. The waitress explained what was in the meals. The food was delicious full of flavour each dish had a different flavour. Outstanding wine. Overall price very good. Can not wait to revisit next time we are in Birmingham. Thank you to all the staff for a great experience.

As a Syrian, this is as close to home food as it can get in Birmingham. Been regulars here since moving to Birmingham 3 years ago, the place itself is always clean and staff is very friendly and cheerful and quick to serve. Food is always fresh and tasty, we had the hummus, kibbeh, cheese borak and mixed grill which were all prepared freshly and portion size was good. Couldn’t take a picture of the rest of the food as my party had already had all the delicious food

We really enjoyed having dinner at Syriana restaurant. There was a C shape sofa, at the end of the restaurant, we really like it, that we had our privacy. The food was supper good, except that a few starters were a little cold (dolma). Sarah was a friendly person, who smiled and she was always there.

Amazing food and service! It was my first time trying authentic middle eastern food and i was not disappointed. I really enjoyed all the food and will definitely be visiting again. We tried the kibbeh shamiyeh as part of our starter (might be spelling it wrong) which tasted amazing, definitely would recommend it. We loved our service and were very happy customers the whole time and after we left.

This is the first time having a Syrian cuisine and it was a good experience. We ordered the sheesh tawook and freekah. Freekah was a very heavy dish careful when you order hoping it to look like a grill platter but it's not. It's more of a rice chicken with grains and almonds. Overall it was a good experience with a very welcoming and warm staffs and an amazing ambience. Enjoy eating 😜

Food is very delicious, you should try it if you visit Birmingham, price is reasonable and they have various Arabic dishes. The atmosphere is quite and nice. Staff especially (Sarah) are very friendly and smiley. The food was very authentic and delicious. They also served us tea after we finished, and it was on the house. Really recommend it 👍🏼.

Came here on a day out to Birmingham and I can't praise this place highly enough! Staff were sooo lovely, bathroom was super clean, food took ages but for good reason - it was so insanely delicious, definitely cooked fresh! Really reasonable prices too - just under £15 for a Shish Taouk (which came with batata and vermicelli rice) and freshly squeezed orange juice. We were also given complimentary tea but had to get it for takeaway as we had to catch the train back. Thank you so much for such a lovely experience, will absolutely be returning if I'm in the area again! ❤️❤️

My partner and I live local and sometimes fancy taking away, and Syriana has never disappointed. Very friendly staff that greet us warmly every time. Food is fantastic quality and very reasonably priced with generous portion sizes. We both eat Vegetarian and there as a lot of options on the menu, so we don't feel like we're missing out too much! Looking forward to our next order.

Stuffed aubergines. Mind blown) Ended with mint tea on the house. Loved it. WIll recommend. Order a pitcher of their fruit juice cuz it's that good.

Great value Lebanese / Syrian place. A good range on the menu, without trying to offer too much, so focusing on good quality. Nice to see all the beer and wine have been sourced from Lebanon. Service struck the right note, being friendly and attentive whilst still leaving to enjoy our meals and conversation. The vermicelli rice deserves a special mention despite its lowly status of accompaniment - I could eat a dish of that on its own every day of the week and still keep ordering it!

First time trying freekah - I had it with lamb. Absolutely delicious! Very well seasoned, moist and flavourful. And even better with the accompanying yoghurt and tomato sauce. My husband also enjoyed his Lahem Meshwi. Tender lamb cubes and pillowy rice. Also served with small sides of batata harara and lahmachun - both were tasty. It would be remiss of me to not mention the wonderful service. Unlike the somewhat tired looking exterior, the venue is clean and comfortable. All in all, a great long-standing halal Syrian/Lebanese institution in central Birmingham. We would definitely visit again with friends and family.

Service was great here, were fasting and they provided us with dates. It was a quick service, the South African guy that served us was very welcoming. Food was great too, highly recommend the vermicelli rice and Lentil soup!

We went as a family during Ramadan, the service was outstanding and the food was lovely. This appears to be a hidden gem in Birmingham, which I would truly recommend for the true middle eastern experience. In addition to this the staff was so kind and gave excellent service and kindness especially to my two young children - great family, couple or friends restaurant.

We have been meaning to try this place out for a long time and it was worth the wait. We opted for the set menu which includes a selection of mezze, a main course of your choice and baklava with mint tea to finish. The mezze was plentiful and all vegetarian and absolutely delicious. For mains I had lamb shakriya and my husband had the mixed grill. Both were very tasty and came with the tastiest rice I've had in a long time. To wash it down we had Lebanese wine and beer and a glass of home made lemonade which was lovely and a bit different. Staff were friendly and the cost was very reasonable considering the amount of food and the location. Will definitely be returning.

I have been living in Birmingham for a while, I can say that this restaurant is the best restaurant I have encountered in Birmingham. The food is delicious, the portions are large and the prices are more affordable than in the city centre, and the staff are friendly. I would recommend it to everyone.
