Fantastic across the board. Amazing food, excellent service for my birthday meal. The saddle of rabbit and pancetta main was especially noteworthy. Enthusiastic, knowledgeable and attentive service from Ben (and lady whose name I did not catch) . Will hopefully be back one day if in the area.

I can honestly say I had the best experience and evening at Sylvan Oak. The food was absolutely divine, as were the cocktails. The staff were extremely helpful, friendly and made me feel comfortable at the restaurant. There was a lovely live singer there who really made the meal feel more festive (even though I didn’t think that could happen) Such a wonderful evening here.

Went for a very special occasion and Ben (front of house) was absolutely outstanding from the second we arrived. It was my parents 60th wedding anniversary and both said that Ben made the whole experience, he’s such an asset to this fabulous little restaurant. We tried a mocktail (secret garden) and the chilli margarita, both delicious. And all courses were beautifully presented and delicious. Couldn’t fault a single thing. All sauces were some of the best we’ve had anywhere, Chef clearly knows what he’s doing! Highly recommend and good value given the quality and quantity of the food, topped off by wonderful service. Thanks for making our special lunch all the more special!

We had a lovely evening at Sylvan Oak, the staff were all brilliant and the food was lovely. We had partridge and halibut preceded by top quality starters including scallops, prawns and foie gras pate. Great experience and we will be coming back soon.

Every aspect of our meal here was absolutely brilliant, the restaurant itself is sleek and clean and open whilst maintaining character with the exposed wooden beams. We came as a party of 11 to celebrate a 60th birthday and everyone was impressed with the absolutely delicious dishes that were served and the wine selection was also great. I'd highly recommend the Duck main and the Crème brulé dessert! Service was attentive and informative whilst also fun and friendly, one of the best overall food experiences I've had in recent years. You won't regret giving the Sylvan Oak a try.

I love the friendly service which isn't overbearing or too pushy. Highly recommend sitting next to the bar and chatting with the staff there. We learnt a lot just by watching cocktails being made. The Cosmo and Old fashioned were really special. And a 3 course meal is good value with plenty of choice

The Sylvan Oak is so special! Sinan, Ben, Karen, Cara and the rest of the team create the most welcoming and relaxing atmosphere whilst also bringing the fun to Findon! Let’s not forget the incredible food -the goats cheese starter is to die for.. and the halibut is just beautiful. The cocktails from Ben are also unbelievable!!! Can’t wait for our next visit x

Me and my partner visited the Sylvan Oak at the beginning of August with family and all we can say is WOW! We were absolutely blown away, from the attentive service from all the staff, the tranquil atmosphere and the outstanding food we all had. Even with it being a smaller venue you feel as if you have your own privacy between tables, which was lovely, as we were able to freely chat amongst ourselves and not feel as if we were disturbing anyone else that was there. While all the staff were amazing, we would like to give a extra special thanks to Ben who made our time there even more enjoyable. From providing recommendations of wines that would compliment our dishes to his attentiveness throughout our booking, he’s an essential asset to the business and makes everyone feel welcomed and well looked after. The food was incredible! You can tell that all the chefs involved have a true passion for what they are serving. Everything is incredibly thought out and all ingredients compliment each other throughout every dish. The variety of different foods available on their menu means everyone can find something to enjoy and tuck into. A couple of us had a look through their cocktail menu and tried their Passionfruit Martini, which we agreed was the best one we’ve ever had. The cocktails alone have convinced us to return to try the others available, what better way to make the most of the atmosphere inside and outside the venue? I would highly recommend, without a doubt, to pop into the Sylvan Oak whether you want a sit down meal or a couple of drinks to unwind from the hustle and bustle of daily life. It truly is a hidden treasure in Findon, and one we hope more people make the most of.

Excellent is all that needs to be said.

We had come down to visit my aunty and uncle from north wales who frequent the Sylvan Oak and it’s with great excitement we accompanied them to the eatery yesterday evening. We have visited before but I have never had time to write a proper review. Having visited many fine dining and Michelin started eatery’s all over the world this is my analysis; Bartending up there with the best in the world. Service impeccable. Food is divine. Wine Is fantastic. I encourage anyone that loves any of the above to visit. Is it possible to give 6 stars ?

What a fantastic gem of a place ! The quality of the food was amazing and presentation top notch. And the service was friendly and personable. We wanted to go somewhere special and we weren't disappointed. What a delight. We will definitely be coming back to celebrate special occasions.

Absolutely stunning from start to finish. Ben was an incredible host and knew the menu inside out. We suggested what sort of wine we were looking for and you could see this was his domain and he picked us out a fantastic Rioja, told us about the wine owner and where his business is. The food was fresh, exciting and completely original. Gluten free was not a problem at all; for example where the dish called for soy sauce the chefs cooked up a prune reduction instead. Definitely going back!

What truly sets the worlds best restaurants, such as the Sylvan Oak, apart? The never-failing ability to deliver an amazing experience every single time. Few restaurants can achieve this. Quite a few restaurants can give you an amazing experience once or twice only to let you down the next time. But the Sylvan Oak is truly world class, being one of the very, very few that every single time, with the utmost expertise, delivers a perfect experience, somehow seemingly outclassing it's previous best. I've eaten here at least 5 times in the last few months, as a table of 1, 6 and 9. It doesn't matter how many or few people we are, or how busy they are, every time the incredible team at the Sylvan Oak deliver a mouthwatering experience with the very best service. And it's not just me - I've lost count of the number of tables next to me commenting 'as usual that was the best Ben' - which also demonstrates another accolade - it seems half the guests are on first name terms with the staff, another sign of their exquisite service and the genuine relationships they've built with so many guests. For a totally transformational experience, you must try the Sylvan Oak. The food is the very best - imaginative dishes with items you'll rarely see at other restaurants, such as red deer loin, beef wellington, partridge, foie gras, all cooked so unbelievably perfectly you didn't know it was possible. I've eaten scallops probably near hundreds of times, foie gras dozens of times and none have been anywhere near as exquisite as at the Sylvan Oak. So many incredible complementary flavours abound on each plate, creating the most delicious taste sensation you'll ever have. The service is on another level. Its attentive, with perfect timing. The staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome, finding time to build a little genuine conversation with each table, and it's not just 1 or 2 times the head chef has come out to talk to customers. Obviously this isn't every time, but I can't remember the last time I've seen this anywhere else and shows how much the Sylvan Oak cares about it's customers and goes the extra mile to give the very best experience. The drinks menu is incredible, with a wide variety of best-in-class items. They recently launched a cocktail menu which is extraordinarily dangerous! Each cocktail is far too delicious and, as with everything else, is so expertly mixed it covers up the overly generous 50% alcohol within, meaning you (or at least I) will have no idea how much alcohol you are drinking - be careful! Fine dining but with a friendly, personable atmosphere. Incredible. I just can't wait until they launch a tasting menu - if you could eat a little of every one of their immeasurable dishes in one sitting, you truly would be in heaven! All in all, I'm not sure you'll find a better restaurant in the world. Certainly not in Sussex and probably not in the UK. For me, winner of best restaurant worldwide in every single category other than 'panoramic sea views across a Mediterranean coastline' - sadly Findon can't support that!

Absolutely the best restaurant in/near Worthing and one of the best in the world. It's very difficult to find a place which gets everything right. But the Sylvan Oak features masterful service with people that go far out of their way to make every customer feel at home and valued, combined with the most illustrious food one can eat. Food of such impeccable nature that nothing else will ever be the same. I didn't even see the drinks list, but still was given a fantastic cider, rioja and sauternes, each top of their class, such that I know when I do see the list, the entire thing will be fantastic and comprehensive. The building is beautiful, a modern fit-out of a place with historic charm. Usually such quality, atmosphere and service would come with a hefty price tag. But here, you get all that for the same price as any other restaurant. Unbelievable.

Just found this amazing restaurant when visiting an elderly aunt in Worthing. The food is amazing and the best we've had for a good few years. Good size portions which leave enough room for a second course. We had the partridge, lamb and venison - all of which were divine. The deserts were delicious too. If you are in our near Worthing then pop in. You won't be disappointed.

Sensational food, friendly service, really welcoming. Difficult to choose as I would have happily eaten any dish on the menu. Some fine-dining restaurants can be snooty, whereas everyone here was so friendly. Thank you, we will definitely return when we next visit the area.

Very small portion of food for the price

Had a fantastic meal here yesterday lunch time. Everything was great. Food was delicious, service was excellent, and the setting is really nice. The price was very reasonable for such a high quality of food and service. They also have a great wine list with reasonable prices for a restaurant. I just wish I'd had room for dessert and lived closer so I could come back more often!

Went to Sylvan Oak last Sunday to celebrate the "Greek Orthodox Easter "with some Greek friends of mine. I ordered Roast Beef... Medium Rare! Probably one of the best roast beef meals I have ever eaten in my life . The meat was so tender and beautifully presented. A wonderful surprise.😊 The staff were very attentive, professional and friendly. I can't wait to go back. Andrew Emsworth

We were lucky enough to find this restaurant whilst staying in the village. It looks like a well kept local secret. The food and service were exceptional.

Always had great food here, and had another lovely meal there last night with friends. Currently £45 for 3 courses, which I feel is good value considering the care and art that goes into each plate of food. Highly recommended.

Wow, what a treat this fabulous restaurant is, a hidden gem in Findon village. Everything is absolutely amazing, the staff, service, menu, wine list and incredibly delicious food. Went with my partner for the first time on New Year’s Eve, we have tried a couple of times to get a table but it’s always been fully booked before. So lucky to get a table and can’t praise this place enough. Bigger inside than it appears from outside. Can’t wait to revisit. I have to say probably the best restaurant in the area, fine dining at its best. Beats the ivy and pitch hands down. A must visit.

Great food and very friendly staff. We have been to Sylvan Oaks several times and the food has always been delicious and the service excellent and friendly. Prices are good value and the wine list while not exhaustive has a good not over priced selection for all tastes.

It is extremely dangerous to live 80 metres from this restaurant that was an amazing meal and a really friendly atmosphere save it for a special occasion.

I don't want to share this little secret but feel cruel not to. If I end up on death row this will be my choice of last meal. Impeccable food, service and the best value for money you'll find on the south east. My favourite of all time ❤️

A little tucked away in Findon, but SO worth a visit. Sensationally good food and the friendliest front of house staff. Can't recommend it too highly. Small public car park 20 m behind the restaurant, and on street parking available. Photos (July 2021) are tandoori scallops followed by fillet of beef and cheese board. 5 🌟

What a wonderful place to eat. We went twice during our week stay in Findon 11th to18th June. The food and service was outstanding and although more expensive than other restaurants in the area. It was not expensive for the quality of the experience.

Wow what a surprise the restaurant is so much better and bigger than it appears from the outside. But forget all that as the food is to die for! 100% recommend and will be coming back!

We went for Christmas day. It was a bit different this year. I couldn't fault the food but I think they should have given a little thought to families eating their Xmas meal. My aged father and children didn't have the palates to cope with some of the dishes. I booked because the food is reliably good but only 3 of us ate all the courses. I think Christmas music would have added some more atmosphere and I know that another year things might have felt a little more festive. Chocolates with coffee or something to add to the festive feeling. On the whole it was lovely and I'm grateful they opened and I didn't have to cook.
