We visit this cafe everytime we are in the area and we are never disappointed. Always really welcoming with the children so perfect for families. They have a great choice of sandwiches and some amazing homemade cakes. I had the chicken tikka baguette and you could tell the bread was from a local bakers as it was delicious. My fussy 2 year old wanted something that wasn't on the menu and they were more than happy to accommodate it. Another fab visit, we will definitely be back next year!!

Went here today for lunch. One of the specials was a hot sausage baguette with onion marmalade. When it came, the baguette was dry, contained two chipolatas and so much sweet, sickly marmalade that made it very unpleasant to eat and for this rubbish they charged £10. Never again!!

We have used this cafe for me many years when holidaying in the area. However they have now taken all the main meals off the menu and have reduced it to basic sandwiches salads and baked potatoes. They used to do some excellent proper dinners Most places develop what they do, this one has dumbed down. Sadly we will not be visiting here again. Very disappointed!

Visited to stop off for a coffee and scone, got the drinks straight away however waited 30 minutes in total for a scone that was in the case ready? After 15 minutes went to see where is was as was told it would be brought out to where I was rudely greeted with ‘we are busy you know can you not see we will bring it out when it’s ready’. Went and sat back down but then after another 15 minutes totalling half an hour I went back just to get a refund as we had finished out drinks. When asking for a refund the £4 was thrown in my hand without even an apology. Staff were very very rude making the experience very unwelcoming and wouldn’t recommend to anyone. Very disappointing experience. -Edit- In response to the business reply, firstly when I went to ask for an update yes I did go to the side because a lady acknowledged as I was walking over but I waited patiently to be asked if I was okay, when I politely asked if my scone was ready as I had waited a while. I was shouted at from the lady on the till which is where she said ‘we are busy you know can you not see’. The second time I went in I waited Patiently behind an old lady in the Que who was getting served when I asked for a refund. I did not once ‘push to the front’ I also did not say the words ‘they clearly don’t know what they’re doing’ I’m unsure who or where u have heard this from? However if I am going to be shouted at first when simply asking if my food was ready it is going to cause customers like myself to become agitated. If you are busy and have an extended wait on food it would be good common courtesy to make customers aware of that. If this is your interpretation of what happened i would advise if you have CTTV recording that you watch it back and listen to it as what you have said is rather fabricated and some points you are made are in fact false.

Fairly pleasant lunch but this was ruined by a trip to the toilet, which were very shabby and not clean. Shame because this tainted the experience as I always wonder what cleanliness is like in the kitchen, which obviously isn't on show to customers like the toilets are.

Ideal stop for lunch. We had a lovely walk along the front at Criccieth on a showery day and decided to stop for lunch. Lovely location, lovely staff and highly recommended food. The menu has sandwiches, baguettes, jacket potatoes and cakes. We had jacker potatoes one with chicken, mayo and bacon and one with Mexican chicken both came with a lovely side salad. The home baked cakes look delicious but we didn't sample them, may need to return. The cafe is dog friendly both in and outside on terrace

So disappointed, we have eaten there many times and always had great food and service. Now however the menu is limited to sandwiches and jacket potatoes, and the service was poor. Good for light snacks and lovely home-made cakes. The best over the East Beach and beyond from the outside terrace. As locals, my wife and I have been frequent diners at Swn-y-Mor for a number of years. With the stupendous sea-view from its outside terrace it was a favourite dining spot for us as a couple and often with friends and family. We were VERY disappointed when "SyM" opened this season with a menu limited only to snacks and drinks. Where were the delicious local burgers, lamb steaks, and crunch golden chips, etc which made for satisfying meals at a reasonable price. We hoped in the early summer that the "cafe" menu was only a temporary measure until the summer season got fully under way. Sadly this was not the case and staff have told us that the new, limited menu is here to stay. I don't know if this is because of a problem in recruiting kitchen staff, a frequent excuse/reason offered nowadays locally or for some other mysterious reason. Unless things change "SyM" will no longer be on our short list of favourite local restaurants. The view is lovely and the staff pleasant and obliging but when we eat out it is mainly for a full meal - as locals if we want a cafe it is quicker and cheaper to walk home. As someone who worked in hotels and restaurants for a number of years I find it hard to understand how the management believe that changing from a restaurant to a cafe will do anything to increase their profits. I'm VERY SORRY to give this rather negative review but I hope it will prompt the management to return to their full menu.

First visit this year, after many years of visits. Very poor breakfast- could bounce the eggs off the floor, tough bacon, warm bread- not toast. You used to be able to “swap”. Eg, if didn’t like beans, could have mushrooms, for example. Not allowed now. No tomatoes, mushrooms, black pudding. Also, can’t book a table. Doesn’t anywhere near live up to previous visits. Opening times very short- 10 to 4.30, not even every day. Such a shame, as a prime position, and captive market. A great plus is the rooftop dining area, and lovely to have loose tea.

Stopped at this lovely little cafe for a drink. We wanted to sit outside however none were available. We were then offered a table outside which really was the best in the house. We only intended to have a drink, however decided on something light to eat between us, we choose a tuna baguette which was absolutely delicious, packed full of tuna and mayo. We decided to stay for another drink and after our drinks were received we were asked to move as the table had been booked, a little disappointed that we weren’t advised when we were offered it. We wouldn’t have stayed for another drink if we knew as we then ended up in full sun which really was too hot at the time. We enjoyed the food and the service was very good, just a little more communication would have been great.

We have never had a bad meal at Clio Lounge, but it has been a while since we last dined here. There was an atmosphere of brisk and efficient service akin to that on the better cruise liners. We both had the Lounge Burger, mine having to be gluten-free and dairy-free. The food arrived within 14 minutes of ordering and from our vantage point, we observed that the moment it was ready and the bell was rung, it was immediately collected and delivered to our table. The burgers were some of the best we have ever had, tasty and cooked to perfection. Normally I would shun the bun and just devour the fries but this time, I found the bun so nice that it also got demolished. My wife also found her regular bun to be better than many, and although she might normally only eat half a bun, she ate it all. She commented that the house slaw was excellent. From our background in the restaurant business, we pick up easily on what we observe as good or less satisfactory staff attitudes and can report that everyone seemed to be working hard and diligently, as well as there being a good level of team cooperation. Vicki deserves a special mention for being constantly on the move, never wasting a moment when not delivering food to tables. Our overall experience gives the impression of a high level of staff training. I am glad that my request to check that the wine was dairy-free was taken seriously, meaning that I had to avoid the Shiraz, as the label identified it as containing milk. Not everybody is aware that dairy products are sometimes used as fining agents. I had the Merlot instead, which was very good.
