Sweet Rose Cakery in Havering

I have had afternoon tea for my birthday before Covid which was amazing but last week I collected 3 boxes of cakes to do a tea party for my 14 year old daughter and the cakes where outstanding. I payed £8 a box and got a good selection of different cakes all freshly made that tasted as good as they looked.

I booked a last minute afternoon tea today and it was a great experience. The staff were so lovely and accommodating they fitted us in last minute and catered for changes we made on the afternoon tea. The sandwiches were so fresh and soft with great fillings, lovely big scones and soft doughnuts. Such great value, lovely staff I would highly recommend and I will be back soon - Thank you xx

Just called in for coffee & scones. Excellent service, lovely style. Good coffee and warm scones with Tiptree jam and cream. Recommended.

Went there for an afternoon tea with my mum and my daughter , so 3 different age ranges, and can honestly say that we all thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff are polite and friendly . The food and cakes was delicious .Would definitely recommend . Also good value for money. Will go again .

This place is absolutely lovely the food, the service, cleanliness everything just so nice. Doing all they can to protect customers with the current covid situation. Will defiantly be back.

Loved eating here. The High Tea that we had here was great. We had a cheese and charcuterie board, cakes, tea and coffee, and chocolate strawberries. We left completely stuffed and had to go for a long walk after to recover!

Great customer service and food. The atmosphere is great dining in for the afternoon tea! I love it and would highly recommend!

We're trying to make the most of the last two days of furlough before we go back to work and tried the Afternoon Tea here. We both like our food and struggled to finish it all.The staff were friendly and the social distancing measures were great. Some of the staff need to learn to wear a mask properly (covering the mouth and nose), and the coffee could have been stronger for my tastes, but other than this we had a great time.

My second visit here. Belated Mother's Day treat. Such a lovely place. Amazing food, good prices and really lovely staff.

Have been visiting Sweet Rose Cakery for years and the ambiance, service and food never disappoints. Whether it be a full lunch, afternoon tea or a quick snack and slice of cake everything is always absolutely delicious. The staff go out of their way to make you feel at home and since Covid19 the changes they have made make you feel secure without being intrusive! Cannot recommend this place enough.

I have visited Sweet Rose Cakery a few times now, for the luxury afternoon tea with my Mum and it is always so delicious. The sandwich bread is always so bouncy and fresh and the scones are to die for.I visited for the first time this week with my 7 year old daughter in tow, as a treat for her and she has experienced afteroon tea in the past with her nan at Buckingham Palace tearooms - yet even she commented that Sweet Rose Cakery was even better than her time at Buckingham Palace. If that's not a compliment, I don't know what is?

Hired out for my mums 80th birthday, had afternoon tea for 20 of us. I could not have wished for better. Not only was the food great, it was very fresh and plentiful. The staff were fantastic, so friendly, courteous and couldn’t do enough to make the day special. We also ordered the birthday cake and was so happy not only did it look great it tasted great to

Caroline baked our fabulous cake for our wedding which took place at Orsett Hall on 4th January 2020. We couldn’t have asked for a nicer, kinder person to bake it for us. It was spectacular to look at and delicious to eat! Everybody commented on how beautiful it looked and how moist each layer was. We had a three tier cake, one red velvet, one lemon and one chocolate fudge cake! It was off white with a subtle shimmer on the largest tier and cream & the palest pink roses adorning it. The thin diamanté band at the base of each cake, finished it off. We added our own cake topper.The pictures do not do it justice at all.Caroline listened to our requirements and stepped up to the plate, and some! Thank you so much Caroline for your attention to detail & taking time over Christmas to bake it for us. The edible flowers were amazing & our guests couldn’t believe they were real. Amazing. Can’t recommend you enough. We will most certainly be back for our afternoon tea at your shop, which is also fabulous x

I have visited here many times including today, great food and drink and lovely staff. I sampled their brand new menu for the festive season and it was tasty and great value for money. I would highly recommend their services for afternoon tea too.

Great night at the Sweet Rose Cakery tonight. I have been here many times before but tonight was the first time I tried one of their 'stackers' from the new menu. Really fabulous food and excellent service.

I felt I should write another review on this tearoom as I could not believe one reviewer who made the comment that one of the staff was rude.I would say the staff are simply the nicest people and very helpful. I cannot believe that they would be rude to anyone.The food is wonderful too !!!yI thoroughly recommend trying it.

Called in for lunch with a friend. Ordered Tea, sandwiches and cake. Excellent service, we were served very quickly. Our choice of sandwiches were delicious, lots of choice of breads and fillings. The pots of tea were a good size, enough for 3 cups each and the cup cake and scone were very tasty. Would definitely return. Might book a table next time just to make sure.

Found this beautiful little place and it didn't disappoint. I called Saturday morning to try and fit my family of 4 in for my sons 14th birthday they were full but the lady kindly fitted us in at short notice. Nothing was to much trouble as we wanted to change the cheesecake and they swapped it for another cake. The tea was unlimited and lovely and the staff was really friendly asking if all was ok and if there was anything else we needed. Really loved it here and the prices were really good to another bonus. The cakes were the best I've tasted in ages so soft and all different flavours to. Great place cant wait to go back.

Visited on Saturday 5th with family and friends what a wonderful afternoon tea - in fact my very first one ! Staff so friendly and obliging, nothing too much trouble. Good variety of sandwiches and so fresh; cupcakes delicious and beautiful - hot - scones with a generous helping of cream and jam. Décor so quaint and pretty. Will definitely be going back :-)

For my mum's birthday we went for a 'luxury afternoon tea' at the west rose cakery. I booked the luxury one bacuase if came with smoked salmon sandwiches, which is my mum's favourite. She loved it. As we left she said 'I think that's the best afternoon tea I've had.'

Visited today for a catch up with friends. We ordered the luxury traditional afternoon tea and were very impressed. The sandwiches were excellent. Very fresh and a good range of fillings. The cakes were delicious and I can't rate the scones highly enough. I would thoroughly recommend a visit for any occasion.

I have just had my Bridal Shower at Sweet Rose Cakery! On Sunday 18th of August 2019, It was amazing. The ladies went above and beyond today. The service was amazing, the food was delicious & the cake they made for me was stunning! I can't thank them enough for all of their hard work today! Every body was saying how amazing the place was and how lovely the food was! They even played with the children for a little bit! They catered for Children, Vegetarian & Vegan and met all the dietary requirements that was requested. They did an amazing job and I seriously cant thank them enough for making the day so special! Highly recommended!!!

Had the most amazing afternoon tea here - scrumptious sandwiches, delicious cakes and the scones were to die for! The staff were lovely and very accommodating, will 100% be returning and would recommend to all. 5*** service, beautiful interior and extremely good value for money!

i visited here yesterday for fathers day , what an amazing place not a bad word to say . the staff was very helpful and friendly . the sandwiches were lovely and fresh the cheesecake was a delight went down a treat . scones were still warm unlimited tea and coffee. would definitely recommend to friends and family . well done girls keep up the good work.

A really lovely place with excellent service and very tasty food. I had the upgraded afternoon tea with a glass of prosecco. The sandwiches and brioche roll were varied, fresh and very tasty - they were all so nice i'm not sure which was actually my favorite. This was followed by a large beautifully baked scone with clotted cream and jam, a deliciously soft and chewy macaron, a slice of victoria sponge and a cupcake topped with a chocolate coated strawberry. They also catered for my friends dietary requirements and gave her her own adapted version which she found equally delicious. We were both definitely full up when we left. It was a lovely afternoon tea and I will most certainly be back.

We came today for Afternoon Tea with Prosseco, it was very good. There was a good selection of finger sandwiches (Veggie and Vegan option available). Large glass of Prosseco, pots of tea an coffee, I was only expecting a cup of coffee, so a nice surprise. Warm scones, jam and clotted cream, cheese cakes and cupcakes. We had to bring the cupcakes home as we were full up. Friendly and polite staff, a very busy tearoom. Recommended

Just got back from our first visit to Sweet Rose Cakery and it won’t be our last. We had the “Afternoon tea with a twist” and enjoyed a cheese and continental meat platter with hummus dip and olives, together with a variety of fresh sandwiches. The tea was plentiful and the glass of Prosecco, delicious. Second course was strawberries dipped in chocolate and we still had to force down a dessert. It was great value for money, well served by attentive staff and in a very comfortable setting. Highly recommended!

Went here for my sister’s birthday and couldn’t fault it. The service was great and the portion size of the afternoon tea was more than enough (we all took something home). A large glass of Prosecco and unlimited tea came with it and all the sandwiches and cakes were fresh. It’s a cost little place so you should book beforehand.

I would thoroughly recommend this place we had a lovely afternoon tea experience. Plenty of fresh sandwiches, cheese and meat platter with crackers, Olive’s, hummus and bread followed by cake and chocolate strawberries. Delicious!! I’ve had afternoon tea in many top hotels in London and you definitely impressed. This was my first visit but not my last. Thank you to all the staff for looking after us.

My friend and I went to the Sweet Rose Cakery for Afternoon Tea this week and what a lovely treat it was! From the moment we walked through the door, we were welcomed by friendly and attentive staff. Surrounded by homely décor, the cute and quirky attentions to detail really gave the place a cosy and welcoming feel. The sandwiches, cakes and scones were all freshly made and truly scrumptious!! There was a good selection of sandwiches and cakes to choose from: ham & mustard, beef, cheese & pickle and egg mayonnaise sandwiches, hand decorated chocolate and vanilla cupcakes, vanilla cheese cake (gorgeous!!) and more traditional fruit scones served with strawberry jam and clotted cream. It was a lovely experience! Reasonably priced and family friendly too. When I go back next time I will definitely take the kids with me. They would love it!!

Visited as part of a booked family birthday party for my sons 1st birthday. Booking was easy and the management did all they could to meet our needs.

Lovely independent cafe. Great sandwiches and homemade cake. Also does a variety of afternoon tea packages where you can add a glass of prossecco or wine.

The toastie and shakes are to die for. Please do your self a favour and buy a cup cake or five to take home, your family will love you. Staff are very friendly. Very relaxed lunch.

I took my nan to sweet rose cakery with my mum for a day out. Lovely staff, great vibe and very comfortable seating, which is great for my nan who is fairly elderly and needs extra room.

We recently visited this restaurant for their vegan afternoon tea and it was lovely. I now use one of their sandwich filling ideas at home. We visit regularly as we love good food an are never disappointed with the food, the atmosphere and the staff are lovely x.

We went with 2 friends, from Greece, for a typical English afternoon tea. First impressions on entering was what a very nice cosy room. Friendly welcome and the service was excellent throughout. The cakery was nice and busy with most tables occupied.

I am a regular at Sweet Rose Cakery . I highly recommend it . When you step inside , Rose and her Staff make you very welcome . It is extremely good value for money , generous portions of food - I've had Savoury and Afternoon Tea . But my highlight is the Milkshakes - I love a Milkshake and Roses are the best !

Very popular tea rooms in Upminster serving really good tea and coffee. We also had a toasted tea cake to share which was delicious! Highly recommended, but this establishment is very, very popular with young mums and babies, who come here after they have dropped their elder children at school. Can be crowded!

This tea room has been open for two years now. I previously gave a 4 star rating as I had only visited a few times but since then I have been several times a week.

Had lunch with a friend and her little one yesterday. We had panini’s and a cheese toasty for the toddler, attention to detail was lovely even asking if triangles or squares were preferred for the toastie!

Booked the bakery for my sons christening, was warmly welcomed in by Rose and her mum Caroline and we discussed food buffet options for the event. The stress was taken off me when it came to the food as the girls just knew what to do and was very flexible with their platters they offered. If there was something on there that we didn’t want they replaced it with another food of our choice. Rose was so friendly and so professional when finalising plans and the food was amazing all the guests ate it and even went back for 3rd and 4th rounds! The sandwich platters and best of British platters contained so much food that was very well presented. Caroline also made my sons cake and that was more than I could have imagined it tasted out of this world and I will definitely be booking with them for more family parties that we have. Amazing little place in upminster staff are also so friendly and the food is even better! What more could you ask for!

My partner and I visit this little gem on a regular basis! Their afternoon tea ( especially the dipped strawberries) is lovely and even their doorstep sandwiches are very very tasty. The staff are amazingly friendly and go out of there way to make you feel looked after without smothering you the entire time. Definitely one of my favourites x.

Just had a super afternoon tea at Sweet Rose Cakery. Everything was great especially the egg sandwich and the lovely warm Scones. The children’s version was well received and the granddaughters response to the cheesecake was “the best cheesecake in the world “.

There were 8 of us booked for afternoon tea last Saturday. Everything was freshly prepared and the service was spot on! I had taken my mum and my nan, and they have done a lot of afternoon teas, and they absolutely loved it! Great place for families. The atmosphere is relaxed and the food generous and delicious.

Couldnt recommend sweet rose cakery enough ! Staff are so friendly and accomidating , food is really nice and defo value for money. The place is so inviting and is clearly a family run buisness, would highly recommend to anyone regardless of age and also kids are welcome & will love it !My little boy is 18 months old and he loves it too ! Gets very busy around mid day so if you can book in advance Very friendly and obliging staff. Sandwiches are filled to brimming with filling. Cakes are deliciuus. Give it a try!

I’ve been in here several times now since they’ve been open. Every member of staff is helpful and Rose is extremely accommodating. I’ve only had afternoon tea here and it’s always been spot on and delicious. With enough sandwiches and cakes to go round.

My lovely daughter Jaid, booked a special Mother's Day treat for me at the family run Sweet Rose Cakery. My husband has special requirements due to ill health and being unable to eat normal foods, and we therefore do not usually visit eating establishments. However, we were greeted by Rose and her lovely helpers and they made us feel so comfortable and at ease, where nothing was too much trouble. The Mother's Day 'special' was amazing. We sat at a lovely, comfortable table where special Mother's Day cupcakes were presented in gift bags. We were given a special glass of Prosecco and then the courses began!! We had a range of wonderfully prepared, fresh, hand made sandwiches, cut to perfection, then strawberries dipped in chocolate on a slate tray and then, as if that wasn't enough, we were served fresh cream scones and local jam, all beautifully presented with little jars and pots and warm shortbread. The whole ambience was flawless and all the Mothers were twittering with excitement at the wonderful courses. The décor was lovely and a very clean environment, where nothing was too much trouble. My husband's 'special needs' were taken care of discretely with no fuss made which is most unusual. It was also outstanding value for money. What a wonderful time we had here. We had the luxury afternoon tea with the meat and cheese platter, extreme milkshake and chocolate strawberries. Portion size is large. The food delicious. The staff are attentive and friendly. I can not fault the place. Will definitely be back. Family run business Who clearly pride themselves on quality however do not scrimp on quantity! The Staff boxed up our strawberries as we were too full to finish them! Nothing is too much trouble. Highly recommended.

I have been visiting sweet rose cakery for about a year now and cannot believe I am only just writing a review. Every time I leave I promise myself I will write a review so here it is. The sweet rose cakery is the loviest place not just for cakes and desserts but the lunches too. I have had a toastie to soup even a jacket potato and have all been beautiful. Everything is just so fresh. To top it all off my brother brought the most brilliant engagement cake from there which I have added a photo of, it was made to absolute perfection but best of all the ladies at sweet rose cakery couldn't be more friendly or helpful - nothing is to much to ask. Its family run and has a lovely atmosphere and I couldn't recommend more. One very very happy customer.

Delightful little place .We booked afternoon tea which consisted of sandwiches ,cheesecake,cupcake and a lovely warm scone with cream and jam . All food was freshly prepared and was delicious .We couldn't eat our cupcakes so brought them home in a box .I would highly recommend this lovely place and will definitely be returning !

I was given a voucher for an afternoon tea. I booked for a slot Saturday lunchtime. Nothing was too much trouble ...including swapping my prosecco for a fab hot chocolate with cream!

Given the menu and the abundance of cake on display, I did very well to confine myself to a coffee and toasted teacake - which was excellent

I'd promised the kids and friends that we could go to Creams after school. Creams was absolutely rammed so we ended up in Sweet Rose Cakery. It was 4.50 and they were just about to close. They saw my plight, so very kindly agreed to do take-away milkshakes. All I can say is I won't be going back to Creams for milkshakes!!!! The cookies & cream variety was one of many and absolutely delicious. Bought some cupcakes too, again delicious and very reasonably priced. The staff were lovely and the surroundings are beautiful. Can't recommend highly enough.

Popped in for lunch. Jacket potatoe with a couple of fillings. The fillings wee if good quality and substantial. A little more expense than my usual cafe, but worth it for the food and pleasant surroundings. Family run business. Friendly and they clearly care about doing a good job. I am looking forward to taking my wife there for an afternoon tea.

What a smashing little place this is. Took my Mother-in-law there today for her birthday, along with my sister-in-law. We had afternoon tea at just £10 per head, great value for money with a good selection of sandwiches, scones and cakes, couldn't eat all the cakes so they gave us a box to take them home. It was very busy with every table full and a very good atmosphere with people chatting. The staff were very hard working and very attentive to everyone's needs. It won't be long before I return. We visited today for afternoon tea and wasn't dissappointed. We had a lovely table by the entrance and on taking our seats we were given our prosecco! The food was served quite quickly and was absolutely delicious. Plenty to eat - in fact too much, so we took some away in little boxes. We couldn't believe the price of everything - it was so reasonable.

We popped in as been told good cakes, had toasties & panninis tea, coffee, cakes & milkshakes. All very good. We weren't rushed.

Myself, my husband and my 8 year old stepson visited for lunch today and were welcomed by all staff, the owner even took time to come and have a chat with us. Food was awesome, staff were lovely and the cakes are to die for!

Sweet Rose Cakery offers reasonably priced cream teas, hot drinks, cold drinks and light snacks. We loved our prosecco cream tea and thought the place was a nice addition to Upminster. Rose and her mother are lovely people and a welcome addition to the Upminster community

Took my daughter here earlier today as a surprise treat and we were not disappointed. She chose an extreme shake and loved it, from finally managing to choose from the great range of flavours through to nearly being able to finish it! I had a panini which was delicious. Lovely atmosphere and really welcoming ladies. We will definitely be returning very soon.

Took my mum for mothers day afternoon tea along with my dad and husband. Inside it was set up beautifully, really cosy and clean. We were seated and given a glass of presecco with a strawberry in it, lovely touch. The sandwiches were made fresh and so soft, lovely choice of fillings, then we had strawberries covered in chocolate, so nice. We then had scones with cream and jam, a choice of tea or coffee and a cup cake to take home.

I visited while I was in the area for a quick lunch and discovered this little gem. Great value food (I wanted a cake, but I was good). The staff were friendly which is great when you are sitting alone. It was presented very nicely even though it was just a sand which. I had a sandwich a cup of tea and a well earned rest for just over £5. Will make sure I go back for a cake next time I am in the area - they looked amazing.

My best friends and I wanted to treat ourselves to Afternoon Tea. We chose Sweat Rose as it was local for one of us and looked nice and homely. We were made comfortable straight away and was given our Drinks order in no time at all. Next was the three tiers of sandwiches scones and cakes. All were homemade and tasted amazing. Next to us a family was having these amazing milkshakes with cakes in top!! We were too full to try those but will next time. The owners of the shop also seem to make cakes for all occasions and the ones on display looked fantastic. We finished our tea and absolutely loved it. Will be back again soon.

Took my mum dad and daughter for afternoon tea and really enjoyed it. The sandwiches were lovely , scones and cakes were delicious . The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The tea room is very clean and has a warm atmosphere. We will be going again for Mother's Day afternoon tea .we liked being able to have a glass of wine / presecco with afternoon tea too.

This cafe is very popular for afternoon teas and children's tea parties and can get very busy at weekends and school holidays. However, it is worth a visit for afternoon tea, good value at £10 a head.

Had afternoon tea as a family treat. Made us feel part of their family with the homely service, wonderful sandwiches and cakes. They do amazing milk shakes too which the kids loved. Looking forward to going back soon.
