Just had half a pint and a bag of nuts after a walk with the dog.

Nice pub overlooking the green, would recommend. Did not have food, so cannot comment on that. Friendly staff

We enjoyed a fantastic Sunday lunch to celebrate my sister’s birthday. The quality of the food and the service was excellent. I can highly recommend the liver and bacon and the falafel starter!

Lovely food - fresh and original. Not as shown on the website. I had Chicken shish on flatbread with humus, chips and salad, followed by a delicious blueberry cheesecake. It was beautifully cooked and presented. My husband enjoyed fish and chips for his 85th birthday lunch. Highly recommended.

Great Calves Liver and Onions with greens and a bonus serving of Bacon on top. Wholesome winter warmer food.

My partner and I have been a few times recently for a snack and a drink, the service is always so lovely, especially so, from a young bearded gentleman. Food has been good too!

Another highly successful family dog walk (2 x Labrador, Show Cocker Spaniel and a Vizla) with 9 adults for lunch by the log fire. Once again we submitted our order in advance and once again we were rewarded with delicious hot food served simultaneously - quite a skilled feet for a msall and unpretentious kitchen. Pick of the servings was the new Chicken Shish with flatbread, tasty yoghurt etc (£17.95) and the grilled Calves Liver and bacon with mash (£18.95). Draught beer exceptional as usual and the total with 10% service was £199.65. We do hope that the pub is bought by the local community instead of being converted by a developer for housing. It is an historic building fronting the perfect English village green and is especially popular in the summer months. Fingers crossed that we keep our wonderful "local"

Venue needs a bit of an upgrade and menu could be better but offers good value and service is good!

The service was good, menu choices was limited and food quality was fine. The setting is a little tired. I have visited on a yearly basis and have to say that the all round experience is on the slide. However, the prices are reasonable and overall is is fine!

Lovely interior with burning log fires. Excellent lunch which was enjoyed by all seven of us- we will be back!

Another very successful lunch with dog at this lovely rural pub. Our table was next to the log fire which provided real warmth both visually and thermally. There are rumours that the owner may be selling to a local consortium of villagers but the deal has not yet happened. The food was delicious with homemade mushroom soup and charcuterie platter being praised but the men in the party, including me, opted for the Burger with crispy BBQ Chicken and hot Korean sauce with Asian slaw and chips (£17.95). This was fantastic as the chips really crisp, the slaw a nice cool antidote to the burger sauce, The chicken was moist breast ; very tender and full of flavour. The Korean sauce was hot but so tasty. I am not usually a "burger man" but this was exceptional. Our only concern was the long time taken to deliver range of dishes, albeit quite varied, for 8 people. We probably waited an hour from arrival. All the food was obviously prepared a cooked from scratch which was marvellous but we did wonder what would have happened if the pub had been much busier? Overall another great visit and we will most certainly return.

We had a great meal here. The confit duck leg with cassoulet beans was excellent. Fish pie was delicious. Portions were of a good size.

I’d come again. Friendly staff, good food and relaxed atmosphere. Dogs are welcome. We had Sunday roasts, generous portions and a Yorkshire that could have sunk the Titanic.

We have been going to this pub for several years ana always found the food and service excellent. Today we found the food extremely bad: the food was cold and served on cold plates, the manager offered to heat the meals under the grill but that would have made the duck even tougher. The tiramisu was solid cream with no coffee or alcohol and had an artificial taste.

We went to the pub today for lunch, but were told in the rudest way that we could not be served food, without any explanation and or apology. It was busy, and tables were cleary waiting, so it might have been for the best. But we won't be going back.

Really lovely family dinner. We were so well looked after by the staff in every respect. The food was delicious - mussels starter, steaks cooked perfectly and a delicious hake dish. Decent priced wines too. Definitely a favourite. Thank you Swan!

I had lunch with a party of 9 after a walk. We had a variety of reasonably priced food which everyone enjoyed. Nothing was too much trouble from our initial booking with Luke to the friendly and helpful lady serving us.

Came for a Saturday lunchtime meal. Food excellent, service excellent, pub interior quaint and comfortable. Only qripe no soya milk or vegan desert

Absolutely fantastic country pub. Just popped in for a couple of pints and we received a warm welcome. Cannot wait to return and sit on the green opposite sipping ice cold pints in the warm summer sun…..absolute heaven.

Ate inside for first time and had a really enjoyable meal. Lovely chilli garlic prawns, nicely cooked hake and huge gypsy tart. The Eton mess was very large too! Service very friendly. It’s also a lovely spot to eat outside and recommend their own beers. Really relaxing atmosphere. Perfect.

Draught beer great value, prosecco at £26 was a bit steep, food was middle, falafel the girlfriend thought was brought in, fish and chips was nice, prefer longer cook, rump of lamb was warm and served on a salad, the dressing was neither mint nor tasty. Chocolate pudding dessert amazing, nice gypsy tart, the Catalan cream was thought to have been bought it. Overall with tip £210, too much, wasn't as good as expected or could have been

Last night had a meal here- salads not washed, falafel and yoghurt nice. Main seabass beautifully cooked with crispy skin, sauce very lemony and very nice, however asparagus not washed. Not nice to eat and feel the grit between the teeth, awful experience! For dessert I had choc brownie with choc sauce and ice cream- for that I would come back! Staff was very nice and helpful. Chefs, please wash your vegetables before serving, cooking!

Stopped here on a Greensand Way walk. Lovely pub with friendly barman. The Fuggles Pale brewed onsite was exceptional, and our stop was extended for a second pint!

This place is a 'find'. We booked a table at this quintessentially English country establishment and were treated to impeccable and attentive service, delicious food cooked by a great chef and his team and local beer! What more could you ask for after a lovely 5 mile walk from nearby Mereworth.....a reasonably priced bill! Spot on guys, you certainly deserve your custom back after a hard year.

This was a return visit for myself with two very good friends. We all 3 agreed that the restaurant is absolutely first class- fabulous food and service - at very reasonable prices . Great selection of beer and wine too !

Nice pub to stop off at during a country walk. Tasty local cider and the food was so carefully presented and tasty. Staff all friendly enough. Lacking in atmosphere without music or fires on but would still visit again. There's a tent outside too.

We were hiking in the area and we made sure we were passing by West Beckham and the Swan at lunch time. The special - cod with butter beans and chorizo cocked in a tomato sauce - was excellent. So was the haddock and chips. Excellent quality ales. Excellent service. We shall make sure we go hiking in the region again.

Service and welcome .... perfect Meal - perfect Covid measures - perfect This is definitely well worth a visit. We ate out 3 times in the last week - this was by far above the rest (again!!). Both Luke and Laura very attentive.

Well organised bar service. Good brews (selection of four home produced beers) at reasonable prices. Plenty of well spaced outdoor seating on the green in front of the pub. In the middle of good walking country - enjoy a walk and time it right to enjoy a beer as well.
