Another wonderful evening at Svago. Lovely food and company.

A true hidden gem! We were seated and had our food served promptly and what a delightful it was! We went for a selection of dishes, house soup which was vegetables, calamari, spaghetti Marinara and pizza! We all thoroughly enjoyed our dinner, food was flavoursome and delicious, service was attentive and friendly. A beautiful restaurant serving authentic food cooked with love! Thank you ❤️

Just had the most delicious dinner! Lovely staff and very apologetic about a small delay as they trained a new team member. Honestly best carbonate I've ever had and they were so good with my coeliac allergens! 1000% will go back

Excellent romantic place. The photos don't do it justice. The great service on point to the food which was immaculate. I don't recommend many places but this one was ideal. 2 people 3 starters because we couldn't decide. 2 main courses chicken and an extra side of chips because I'm greedy +2 large largers and 2 cokes £65. Well worth it couldn't fault.

Lovely local Italian restaurant, excellent friendly service. I've had the very tasty authentic spaghetti carbonara a few times and my husband has eaten different types of risotto. Very good value for money also.

Had a lovely dinner at svago - found on trip advisor and very glad we tried it over “playing safe” with a chain. The food was great and very reasonable prices - cocktails were lush as well! Would happily come back

A very nice cosy Italian restaurant. Me and my friend went there for food and catch up. The ambience in there was really nice and cosy. We booked an hr to 30 mins ago table. They send you confirmation once booked. We went there on time, however the parking was very difficult as it was freshers week, but found parking in one of the side street lane. We didn't had to wait long and were sat immediately as soon as we entered. There weren't any mocktails on the menu, however the server said he would make something for me and he did indeed but forgot to take a picture. Me and my friend ordered the following: Penne Pollo Pomodori - sautéed chicken strips, red peppers, touch of sundries tomato in creamy pesto sauce. My friend ordered - Chicken and Chorizo Risotto - Arborio rice, with chicken, red pepper, peas abd chorizo. Both these dishes are amazingly delicious. Would highly recommend these two dishes. Overall a good experience and would definitely comeback.

Our family of 8 adults and 8 children had a lovey celebration meal for my birthday. We were well looked after by the manager who is always very accommodating, caring and provides excellent service with a smile. We always enjoys dining at this restaurant but last few years it has not been so much.

Came here on Friday. Food was lovely and the women service was amazing with us. When my mum felt faint in the place the women was very accommodating and couldn’t do enough for us. I would recommend to anyone who want great service. Also did gluten free options and made the garlic bread gluten free too

We went for a birthday celebration although it was a table of 13 it certainly wasn't unlucky. A very warm welcome.Excellent service and exceptionally friendly staff. We pre-ordered due to the numbers ,everything was correct. Food was delicious.csn highly recommend. Thankyou Svago for making our evening so rnjoyable.

Pasta a bit hard but enjoyed place

Two of us went Friday 3rd February at lunch time. The food was excellent. My sister had crayfish cocktail to start ( large portion ) followed by chicken with spinach in a cream sauce and pasta. I had lasagne. We shared garlic bread with mozzarella and both had ‘real’ chips. Portion sizes, very generous. Presentation and taste, perfect. The garlic bread was brilliant and our desserts; chocolate brownie with v ice cream and butterscotch panacotta were lovely. It was a chance try at this restaurant and we will be back in 2 weeks…. ☺️

Visited tonight after a long gap due to covid etc., well the service was superb from Michelle and the staff, food pizzas, and pasta meals best in cardiff. The atmosphere remains friendly and relaxed, family favourite. Will be back soon. Tricia

A group of 9 of us booked a table at Svago, The service was a little slow but in saying that it did not spoil our evening. The staff were pleasant and helpful and the venue was spotlessly clean. We all had a variation of starters and main courses with a few of us opting for deserts and coffee. I had a 'special' to start which was whitebait. It was cooked well and seasoned just right. For the main I had Penne with a rich sauce containing strips of beef and red peppers. It was delicious. The meal was washed down with a couple of Magners. Overall a really great dining experience and highly recommended.

The kids live this place, "the best Carbonara pasta" they say. Service is always great.

What a lovely place to go for lunch, my daughter recommended it because you can have gluten free. My pizza was delicious, the taste was exceptional. Fresh passata. All I all I would highly recommend this place for lunch or dinner.

First time visiting Cardiff with my partner, we found this place to try and really glad we did. The food was fresh and tasted delicious! Wish we lived near so we could visit more often!

Great food, good prices, good service.

We had a short break in Cardiff for the first time and rather than go to the usual chain restaurants in the city centre we decided to try a local one instead. We looked on a well-known website that advises on trips ;-) decided on this one and made a reservation. This proved to be a great decision as we had a really nice meal. We walked there from the centre, which took about 40 minutes and although we'd worked up an appetite after travelling to Cardiff that day, perhaps a taxi would have been a better option. On arrival, the service was prompt and efficient and the resaurant itself is quite modern. Situated on a long street that is full of numerous restaurants, cafes and takeaways covering all types of cuisine you could think of, Svago's grey and wooden facade with green neon sign stands out from it's neighbours. Rather than go for different choices, I ordered some favourite options to be able to get a true reflection of how Svago compared with my preferred Italian eateries and it did a good job. The meatballs followed by the chicken and chorizo risotto were rich in flavour and stood up well to the best I've had elsewhere. At the end of the evening, the bill for the two of us was reasonable and it lived up to the favourable reviews.

Our second visit to here and will not be our last. This place is amazing. Very busy tonight. Lots of atmosphere and staff swift and attentive. Food was delicious. Really a lovely evening. Thanks to all the team. I could not recommend this place enough.

An excellent meal at Svargo last night. The menu is extensive, the food was delicious and served piping hot. The portions are a good size and it’s excellent value for money. The restaurant has a nice ambiance and is spotlessly clean. The staff were very pleasant and welcoming. I would highly recommend and will definately be returning

Absolutely amazing service and delicious food. I organised my friend's 21st and the staff went over and beyond. I dropped of some decorations the morning of and they put them up and made the place look lovely. I would definitely recommend. Thank you so much for a lovely evening

We are regulars at this restaurant and we have been here so many times as a couple, with family and friends! The service is always great and the manager is so accommodating! Plenty of vegan and gluten free options! Such a lovely menu with all the classics and the early bird is great value! Don’t get me started on the desserts, the cheesecake has to be my favourite, especially the white chocolate,! My partner loves the tiramisu! Looking forward to our next visit over Easter.

As a family we regularly visit, spending large amounts of money at each visit. However the last couple of visits were very disappointing. Service has determined the manager isn't as friendly or professional. My daughter ordered food but it was made with vegetables and not meat. One visit my son ordered an extra piece of chicken and was charged 10 pound. Day light robery. Unfortunately what used to be our favourite restaurant, we will not visit again.

Visited svago for the first time in a while with work colleagues for lunch since I’m not in the office much since COVID. The food is still great and always get a warm welcome from Michelle. My favorite is the goats cheese starter but have tried the pizzas pastas and lasagne in the past and all delicious. My colleagues had pizzas and a calzone and really enjoyed. The food is very reasonably priced. Definitely worth a visit, my favorite in the area around crwys and whitchurch road.

I came here for my birthday meal. The menu caters nicely for both vegetarians and non vegetarians. The waitresses were friendly and the chef was amazing. I ordered the Chickpea ravioli, amazing! Wish I could go here again!

Just had a wonderful evening at Svago. Ordered Arancini balls and Fried Goats Cheese with onion chutney for starters, and Gamberoni Linguine and Pollo Svago for mains. Food was absolutely beautiful. Melt in the mouth, tasty, fresh and beautifully presented. I'm salivating just thinking about it. Finished it all off with a helping of Tiramisu (to die for). This restaurant is amazing. Never fails to impress. Go.

Popping in here for a meal with the family and it was brilliant. Lovely staff and the food was top quality. I had a burger which was perfect down to the soft bun and I also tried the lasagne which just melted in my mouth! Before leaving though, I visited the bathroom and... the ceiling was a good crack to look at, nearly didn't even see it.. I had to take a picture. Thanks a lot guys, definitely will visit again!

Excellent food and a varied menu. The aranci balls to start were amazing! Staff were lovely and the decor/atmosphere very pleasant. The cocktail list was impressive and the quality was superb (so good that we went back for drinks only one evening). 2for1 cocktail happy hour between 5-7 (Tues to Thurs) and an early bird deal til 6.30 make this place one of the best value restaurants in Cardiff.

Clean and modern, fabulous helpful staff, an very talented chef. Staff cannot do enough so welcoming. The food was cooked perfectly and really tasty , calamari, spicy meatballs, steak pasta, tarragon chicken, and a fish cooked to absolute perfection. Also the best pannacota I've tasted!...

It was great to visit Svago again as it re-opened after lockdown. Really delicious pizza and an incredible range of gluten-free options. If you are gluten-free or vegan Svago is a great place to visit! The staff were all wonderful and friendly, helpful and switched on but not intrusive. Thank you!

Meal out for birthday celebrations. We went on the opening night after restrictions were lifted, the waitress looking after us commented that she was feeling a little rusty after being closed for so long, but they had no need to worry, our food was fantastic and the staff can't do enough for you. One of our favourite places to eat and will defo be returning.

Solíamos visitar Svago antes del cierre porque trabajábamos cerca, así que estábamos ansiosos por regresar una vez que las cosas se abrieran un poco. Regresamos por primera vez cuando salimos a comer para ayudar y visitamos varias veces durante el período. La comida fue excelente como siempre, uno de nuestros entrantes favoritos es el queso de cabra, que creo que es mejor que un entrante de queso de cabra en cualquier otro lugar, cocinado a la perfección cada vez con un chutney encantador y hojas de ensalada ligera. Los otros favoritos de los últimos tiempos son las bolas de tigre gamberi y arancini. Probé muchos platos principales y todos son geniales, la hamburguesa es realmente buena pero es enorme, así que prepárate, la pizza nduja es un favorito personal, hace mucho calor, así que ten cuidado si tu tolerancia a las especias es baja. La carbonara también es muy buena. Los favoritos de mi esposa son los diversos platos italianos de pollo, el pollo svago y particularmente el pollo parmigiana están en la parte superior de la lista. Nuestro vino favorito es el Trebbiano.Las precauciones de COVID fueron muy buenas cuando visitamos, desinfectante en el camino, mosquiteros en su lugar, ventanas abiertas si el clima lo permite, mascarillas para el personal y distribución de cubiertos.Siempre pensamos que el svago tiene una buena relación calidad-precio, pero durante la comida para ayudar fue excepcional y fue genial ayudar a un restaurante local durante este tiempo. También siempre es bueno ver a Michelle y charlar sobre lo que está pasando.Gracias Svago, fue agradable salir después de la mayor parte de 6 meses sin ir a ninguna parte. Esperamos que todo esté bien durante estos tiempos difíciles para las empresas y los empleados.

Asistimos el miércoles por la noche (30 de septiembre de 2020) como un grupo de 5 chicas. Las comidas y bebidas fueron increíbles, pero sobre todo debo complementar el servicio. . . . el personal fue muy atento, muy educado y realmente no puedo agradecerles lo suficiente. No escuchamos sus nombres, pero tuvimos 3 camareras diferentes esa noche, así que si ven esto. . . . ¡gracias! Definitivamente volveremos xxxx

Visité esta pequeña joya recientemente, comimos mucho, así que primero revisamos el sitio web para ver el menú, así que supimos lo que estábamos comiendo incluso antes de llegar allí.Cuando llegamos, nos recibieron en la puerta y nos llevaron a nuestra mesa, la camarera fue muy agradable, otra camarera se acercó con agua y nos preguntó si nos gustaría pedir bebidas en este punto, pedimos nuestra comida, teníamos 3 entrantes entre los dos de nosotros (cerdos), pero todo sonaba tan bien que pensamos en probar algunos y no nos decepcionó. Calamares, queso de cabra frito y bruschetta, todo fue excelente, luego para el plato principal tuvimos el risotto de marisco y el linguini gamberoni también excepcionalesLuego encontré espacio para el postre, la tarta de queso de chocolate blanco y el tiramisú, ambos hechos en casa y sí, lo adivinaste ¡Fluffing deluxe! como diría mi madre! ! Todo regado con unos Peroni y un espresso doble. El personal también fue muy educado y atento si pudiera darle a este restaurante un 6. ¡Bien hecho Svago! Volveré! ¡fabuloso!

He estado aquí varias veces con mi familia. El servicio es impecable. Muy familiar. El menú es genial, todo lo que cabe esperar de un pequeño restaurante italiano. Están felices de adaptarse a las variaciones de los platos fijos e. g alimentos adicionales / sustitutos, sin molestias. La decoración y la música son geniales y siempre están limpias. Especialmente impresionado con las medidas de distanciamiento social y los ajustes relacionados con el covid actualmente.Recomiendo encarecidamente el plato de pasta de carne.

Called in for an early Valentine's Day dinner. We have been before and always found it excellent. Very friendly and fast service. Bruschetta was very tasty as was the Linguine Gamberoni, my wife had a really nice risotto, we both had dessert and all washed down with a nice bottle of Italian red! Excellent, go there everybody!

This was our second visit at Svago. The food is outstanding. Good choice of wine and drinks also. Home made bread is quality. Pasta is beautiful. Really loved the home made tiramisu for dessert. Everything fantastic including the Service. If I had to give some feedback (and this really is something minor) is we were not aware of the specials board. Only noticed it after we had ordered our food. It would be nice to have been pointed out before because there were some interesting options on there! My partner and I visited last night, after finding this restaurant on Google. The decor is very nice, the food was delicious and the customer service was excellent. I had the arancini to start and the chickpea ravioli for main. My partner had the fried goats cheese to start ad the steak pasta for main. We shared starters as they were do delicious, we couldn't choose! If you are looking for somewhere with good food and value for money, go here!

Estábamos un poco apurados la segunda vez y habíamos avisado al restaurante de esto antes de reservar y no podrían haber sido más serviciales. Took out North Wales clients here Monday evening, 10 of us -great service ( lovely lovely waitresses) and fab food. Ambience was lovely - was busy on a Monday evening ... the early bird is a fantastic price for good quality food. Thank you for a lovely evening.
