Great little spot. Loved the exposed brickwork and beams, fantastic way to see the inside of one of the traditional cottages. We’ve been here before and will go again. This time we had a lovely delicious breakfast, the menu had a few sizes and different options. A table near us had a toasted tea cake which looked goooood. I took the option to add hash browns and switch fried to scrambled eggs, me and my wife loved it. All elements were yummy!

Stopped off for coffees m, cake, soup and pasty - nice little cafe, good service, everything looked and tasted really fresh and home made - will return

Having been plenty of times before (and have the loyalty card to prove it!) I was pleased to take my friend for her first time. We just had coffee today but enjoyed the experience. Nice atmosphere and very dog friendly. This is also a lovely cafe in the summer so you can sit in the garden. Also plenty of gluten and vegan options

Smashing location, pleasant staff, but extortionately overpriced……. Nearly £13 for a ‘Full breakfast’ that neither includes mushrooms or tomatoes! Not worth it in my opinion.

Very disappointing and expensive we ordered three turkey sandwiches expecting the contents to be fresh turkey at £10 each not thin slices of tasteless processed turkey meat. I am afraid I will think twice before visiting again, if ever.

Great service and fab knowledge of gluten free options. Sandwich and soup was amazing topped off with a gluten free brownie. Reasonably priced and well worth the money. Great little spot, will return.

A tale of two halves…the cakes snd scones were superb, absolutely superb, the drinks were also very good with very good quality coffee. The other side of the coin was what I would describe as aloof service, far from rude just not particularly friendly or welcoming. We just didn’t feel particularly valued as customers. However it is clear if you are local or regular a more favourable welcome awaits as we evidenced. Did this detract? no not a lot to be honest but for our visit to have been the 5 the food absolutely deserved we would expect more welcoming staff.

This is a wonderful find, tucked away in a side street; we never visit Appledore without a leisurely hour or so at this lovely place. The food is amazing, the crab sandwich is to die for and is big enough to be described as a main course meal! All the other menu items are delicious, so fresh and beautifully presented. On a dry day, the sheltered, terraced rear garden is a tranquil haven with quirky, characterful decoration and plants. The staff are really friendly and helpful; nothing is too much trouble. Very dog friendly, there's even a 'puppuccino' whipped cream treat on the menu! Our only complaint is that we don't live near enough to visit more often. We'll be back next time, hopefully soon.

Absolutely delish!! Great little find on the back street, serving a variety of lunchtime meals, cakes & drinks. We had a very tasty tuna mayo, onion, and cheese toastie with salad, crisps, and homemade slaw. We were eyeing up the cakes for pudding as they looked great however the portion size was great so we were full up! It's definitely worth a visit if you are peckish at lunch time, very busy around 1230, so be prepared to wait for a table.

We enjoyed a really good crab sandwich, with 'doorstep' fresh bread and a pasty. Both with a tasty slaw and salad that deserved the space on the plate. The staff were all smiley, which added to the visit.

Waited a while to be seated. Waited even longer to have our order taken. Waited along time for our order to come out which came out in stages. Hot drinks first, nearly finished them by the time 2 milkshakes arrived and the milkshakes had nearly been finished by the time our scones arrived. One fruit scone cold the other fruit scone to hot to touch! Asked if we could have a cold one as we didn't asked for them to be warmed and it was for a child. They brought a cold one out and said it depends on what they are up to in the kitchen 🤷‍♀️ busy time of day and the cafe was full but the service was slow and unorganised. Other customers saying the same and also walking out. Food looked good, decent coffee, milkshake presentation nice. Just shame about the disjointed service.

Great little coffee shop and cafe just off the main quay in Appledore. Staff are friendly and attentive and we’ll worth a visit for coffee and a cake.

We visited today on a wet and drizzly day after doing some crabbing. We are a family of 5 and received a warm welcome from the lovely staff. My husband had the crab sandwich and I had the tuna open toastie. It was absolutely delicious and would highly recommend. The children all cleared their plates too. This was a lovely find on the little back streets of Appledore that I would recommend to anybody!

Visited Appledore on Tuesday 22nd November 2022. A lovely village 6 miles west of Barnstable and 3 miles north of Bideford. Had lunch at the Market Street Kitchen, inc soup and an afternoon tea/sandwich combo. Nice atmosphere and options to purchase local crafts too. Recommend.

Came here on the hunt for a cream tea whilst visiting appledore. It’s a little difficult to find as it’s not on the seafront but not too hard. They are well set up for the current restrictions and we really enjoyed our visit.

We had lunch outside in the back garden and our open sandwiches , scones and drinks were first class. The place was extremely COVID Safe and the friendly staff were super efficient in cleaning tables etc. We highly recommend this cafe any time of the day and is our go to place in Appledore.

This is a modern cafe, one street back from the seafront in Appledore, with a courtyard garden if the weather is nice. We had a cream tea and crab sandwich; both were fresh and tasty. Service was friendly and the Covid measures were being taken seriously. Would recommend for a coffee or lunch.

Really Welcoming staff, very helpful. The sandwiches were excellent in relation to size and quality, with plenty of filling so you could actually taste what it was. They have an outside garden with tables undercover which helps in the current Covid situation. It’s down a narrow street parallel to the main promenade road, look for their signage board. Worth a visit.

Made our usual trip from London to Appledo re and found that this place is as good as ever. One of us is a retired chef so he should know the standards and he was very impressed as usual.

Came here for breakfast whilst visiting Appledore with my family. We liked that you could read the menu outside then order and pay for it before you are seated. We ordered a fry up and although all the produce was fresh we thought it was fairly expensive for the portion sizes (was nice food thou). The service was quick and the staff here (especially the young woman on the door) was very friendly.

Went for lunch here recently and had a great meal / experience. Staff were very friendly. Didn’t need to book in advance. Initially found space for us on their outdoor tables and then were easily accommodating when we asked to move inside. High chairs provided for children. The food and coffee was great - we would not hesitate to come back

Very disappointing! I had a small and mediocre prawn sandwich with a garnish of sad salad and crisps, this came with a princely price tag of around £10 which was vastly overpriced. My husband had the jacket potato with cheese and a small spoon of baked beans which left the dish somewhat dry. As we were leaving we saw a table being served cooked dishes of the day which we weren’t told about. I did feedback to the waitress that the sandwich was overpriced for what was served and she said that several customers have said the same. Perhaps that should tell the management something? The rain was torrential when we arrived so we were delighted to get out of it but overall the experience was inadequate and expensive.
