Sushi Nara in Spelthorne

Sushi nara is our go to place for family meal or meeting friends. Just the right size restaurant with good decor and helpful staff. Sushi are always good but so are other dishes . Highly recommended

Best sushi in all staines , everything absolutely fresh and staff are very attentive and friendly, I been there last week with my colleagues and we definitely coming back!

I would like to report the despicable treatment by the Sushi Nara Restaurant in Staines. It is extremely unfair that we a forced to give one start. We should have an option to give ZERO. I placed an order for my family and me and added the following message. " If it is possible, could you do fried rice instead of noodle?" The restaurant tried to contact me, but I missed the call; at the same minute, I called the restaurant to check if everything was okay with my order. At that moment, the restaurant manager explained to me that he had sent a message to me, but I never received this message. I tried to find the message while I was talking with him, but I could not find it, and the manager told me that I would need to confirm the change in the message to proceed with my order. I told the manager that noodles would be fine and that would be no problem, but the manager started to get upset and impolite, saying that they are not a Chinese Restaurant to do Egg Fried Rice. I didn't even request Egg Fried Rice. I requested to swap the noodles for Rice. But apparently, it was very difficult to accommodate. I told the manager that I was trying to contact Uber to let them know that I was okay with noodles, but I could not find a way to contact them at that point. Sadly I received a message from uber Eats cancelling my order from the restaurant. I questioned the manager, who at this point was already shouting at me, saying that it was my fault that I changed something on their menu, requesting something that they didn't have it. I asked if I could replace the order, it was 21:32, but the manager replied that it was too late because they closed at 21:30. That was Despicable. The problem is, as a customer, I expect a certain level of respect and hearing a restaurant manager shouting and mentioning so many times that they are not a Chinese restaurant for the simple fact of kindly asking to swap noodles for Rice is absolutely DESPICABLE. Disgusting behaviour from this manager, extremely unprofessional and Rude!!!! This kind of situation does not just damage the image of the restaurant but also of Uber Eats by having this kind of company under the uber eats app.

Even though we don’t like sushi, we fancied trying somewhere different to Wagamama. Although (unsurprisingly 😃), the majority of the menu is sushi - there are a lot of other choices and the food was cheaper, more flavoursome and better prepared than Wagamama. For us, it was the lovely decor, staff and a much nicer more intimate experience than the alternative. Would definitely come again!

Excellent food Dumplings and pumpkin fritters Eel / beef main Soft shell crab and lots of sake ! Was a lovely meal with our friends Would defo recommend x

This is a favourite restaurant of ours even if we don’t visit often..... It has now moved across the road and both the size and the menu has expanded considerably to offer a large selection of Korean dishes as well as an even larger range of Japanese dishes. Friendly fast service and good value.

Crazy prices and not worth it for proper Japanese food..sushi rolls were dry.service is poor.have to improve of taste and presentation of dishes..

We regularly order takeaway and dine in at sushi nara and it is always absolutely exceptional. The sushi is some of the best in London/England. The service is so lovely. Tonight we got a complimentary dish which was such a lovely touch and delicious! Such an amazing find in Staines.

Visited on a Monday evening, lovely food and very good value for money considering the area. Very polite staff and good sized portions which are well presented. Order via app so easy to do - however small criticism is that it's a little difficult reading the menu solely on your mobile. Would be easier to at least view the menu in person, and then order via the app but that's a minor comment. Would visit again, thanks for a lovely meal.

Our son loves to come here for his birthday treat every year as he loves all things Japanese. Staff were wonderful and sushi fantastic. This year he was surprised with a birthday desert too. Staff make you feel so welcome.

So much variety and everything is delicious. Great ordering through ur phone so you can just order throughout & keep the food coming when you want it. Love trying different dishes each time I go & all friends that I introduce think the food is awesome 👌 great friendly service too.

Family visit - we had a booking in advance - superb sushi - we all had different kinds - staff explained everything very well! Very timely service. They took care of allergy request. Location is great with ample parking in the streets and paid parking nearby. Contactless order and payment. Overall very good experience and will keep coming again.

We went here on a Saturday night and thoroughly enjoyed it. Fast service, friendly staff, very fresh food and a pleasant atmosphere. Jane and the manager served us, and they were incredibly lovely people. 100% would go back here. It didn't have any negatives. Very good selection of food

Very disappointed with sushi Nara. On Facebook and on the website they have opening hours now for take away 5-9:30 with is 4,5 hours. Today we tried to order at 9 but on the website said the are busy to take an order so we called there. They said they are closed from 9 o clock. So please, change the opening times or don’t lie to your costumers. I’m working in restaurant and I can’t never say to costumers we are close on time, when our hours said we are open. And this is only 4,5 what they supposed to be open no even all day !!!! Loosing your costumers like that ...

I LOVE Sushi Nara. One of my favourite local sushi restaurants. Staff are so lovely and food is great. BUT they really need to sort out their takeaway waiting time! I appreciate it’s covid but if you are open and serving food at the same price as usual you should not be having to wait over an hour and a half for food! This is disgusting. Especially when you can only go in and collect it yourself! So you are then sat waiting for 45 minutes in the restaurant! To then only get your food and have some of it missing! Please sort out your takeaways so I can enjoy this great sushi restaurant again.

Had to do some computer work for a friend who knows I love Japanese food. We tried to order a delivery from sushi Nara but that didn’t work so we decided to call them up and they said order from Uber eats or make a collection if we make a collection we get 10% off. We did an order for collection and I went to pick it up they said they already took the 10% off Which they actually hadn’t done and I had to prove it to them and it took 10 minutes to actually get the 10% discounted. The food was fair to middling although it was mainly on a Korean tilt. The sashimi was cut too thick and the Gyoza was deep fried and tasted of oil. The kimchi Gyoza had no spice to it whatsoever. The special rolls were amazing. It’s a hit and miss depending on what you order. I will try and order again and maybe try some of the Korean dishes but he’s not a great Japanese restaurant by any shakes.A lot of the dishes were cheaper on uber eats than they were on collection prices. To be honest I’ve got really confused!

A disappointing evening. We had both been really looking forward to our meal out tonight but it was frankly awful. We ordered with the app from our table. We see little point of this as there was very limited description and a long wait. We had to remind them about our drinks order. When the food did arrive initially it was cold. The second round of drinks and an appetizer were cancelled as there seemed little point as after a very poor meal we just wanted to leave. Why ask if we have any food allergies ( we do to mushrooms , )if you're going to ignore it or not read it at all. The tempura vegetables with the included mushrooms were quite possibly the largest sliced still raw vegetables we've ever seen!!! If my wife had eaten this , this would have caused her a severe reaction. \The app asked twice about allergies and we duly filled it in - pointless. We sent back a chicken yakitori dish as it was cold and the other starter was tepid. It seems obvious to us that they had to much going on with the takeaway collections to give any quality food or time to their sit down customers. It's ok to be apologetic but having only 3 people doing front of house with one dedicated to take out isn't good enough. Get more staff or concentrate on one thing - you're doing two things badly rather than one thing well.. Yes these are difficult times but come on get it right!!!

Wow super good food and really worth spending it with sushi nara!Here is the but!! Do not order with UBER eats they will loose your order this has happened not once now but they screw you over on your money!!No fault to sushi Nara great food and super happy but don't ever use UBER eats! Use deliveroo safe choice!

Everytime I think about Sushi, I think of Sushi Nara! I love this place! Quality is very consistent, service is great- the employees do know you and always have a smile on their faces- and most times they give you a free sample of sushi. Food is very fresh and I haven't found a better place in the UK. They are also quite innovative - try their 'sandwiches' (sushi triangles coated in tempura).

I have now been to Sushi Nara four times in the last two months and each time I am impressed by the quality of the food, fantastic sushi platter, and the soft shell crab is to die for, all washed down with a nice selection of beers / saki

I have been to this restaurant several times and each one of them food has been delicious and well presented. Beautiful sushi and sashimi.Love the prawn dumplings and the dolsot bibimbap.Manager and customer service is very good. Always a warm welcoming. Sonal will be missed!!

If there was an option to give a rating of 0 it still wouldn’t be low enough for this ‘restaurant’. We placed an order for sushi and tempura, we then quickly realised that the tempura was fish and we had ordered vegetable being as that we both vegetarians for religious reasons thus we were deeply offended. The manager is shockingly rude telling us a series of lies and ultimately refused to change our order! We are shocked and disappointed by our treatment.

I’ve been a regular visitor for 6 years & cannot recommend this place highly enough. Food is always top quality, the staff are great (genuinely lovely people!) & I’ve never come away disappointed.Tuna magma is a must try if you like a bit of spice :)

Went in to try this place whilst on on my own, enjoyed it so returned the next evening with friends, superb food which suited our dining, staff exceptionally helpful and pleasant, definitely worth a visit and don’t miss the soft shell crab

I loved it ! Possibly the best Japanese restaurant I have ever been to! Amazing food, friendly listen to staff and when you pay the bill,they give you some White Rabbits( milk-flavoured chews from China and my favourite!)! And to think that some people gave it a BAD REVIEW!!! We'll, don't them, because they're just snobs who criticise good food, but if you went to their house and asked them to make you a meal, it would be worse than they've described Café Momo's! I ask you, DON'T LET THEM RUIN IT FOR YOU!!!!!!!! I may be 10 years old, but I know delicious food when I taste it!

Dinner with friends and we really enjoyed. Service was friendly and food was served superfast. Also taste of food was excellent.

Spotted whilst running past and went back next night for takeaway. Nice people who have moved across the road from this address to larger restaurant. Was busy for a Wednesday night. Didn’t take long for food and was very tasty. Not cheap but not expensive either. Will use again.

This is my favourite sushi restaurant.. ever!! It’s delicious, fresh and so reasonably priced. I will never stop coming here and now craving sushi as I type :-) Highly recommend the Nara Rolls and Wednesday ladies rolls, they’re my favourite.

Recently visited Staines to meet local friends for dinner. We were very pleased with the variety in the menu. The sushi was fresh and delicious. The restaurant is large and open and can easily accommodate large groups. We would definitely go back the next time we are around.

This is the first time we have visited the new restaurant....

We started eating at Sush Nara when it was a mini restaurant with only a few stalls and we pearched on the counter to have our meal, looking at the chefs preparing the fish. Then they opened the upper floor and had more tables available and finally now there's a full size restaurant. The food is still spectacular and the menu is even more interesting, as it now includes more Korean dishes, so one can mix it up a bit. They are now licensed and we don't have to bring our own booze with us, as we used to do a few years ago (and no corkage!).

Fabulous sushi / Japanese food really fresh and tasty amazing little place easy to miss as tucked away in side street but definitely worth searching out if your a sushi fan .... not licensed

Living locally, and having eaten at lots of restaurants/cafes, we heard about Sushi Nara and were extremely excited to eat here.

Have absolutely loved Sushi Nara in Staines since it has been open. Can always guarantee amazing food and I love that they have a loyalty card for us sushi addicts :)

Found all the fam’s fave in one place, finally!!! Ordered beef dolsot bibimbap which was full of flavour. Particularly loved the wakame and the prawn gyoza 😋😋😋

This place has the best sushi I think I have ever tasted! The fish is fresh and delicious. The staff are kind and welcoming and even though they were busy they made our food very quickly. Highly recommend. Best restaurant I have ever been too. 10/11

Came in for a birthday meal with my family in late june. The resturaunt had always been my favourite in Staines. However, after hearing from one of the waitstaff that my usual order isnt actually vegetarian at all, I dont believe we will be returning in a hurry. Upon asking about the udon soup, the waitress told me that there is a small amount of fish sauce added for flavour. Even though the dish is marked with a (v).

Excellent food and service , great choices for vegetarians and best tofu I have ever tasted !! I will be visiting again soon

Popped in to sushi Nara just off the Staines high st for my tea, greeted instantly shown to my table. Bit of a cafe feel about the layout and style but don’t worry about that the food is first class .Proper Sushi n stuff !

Good value for money, great service food was fast and super tasty. High recommend the Wednesday Ladies Rolls!

Nicely set out restaurant and good service. Started with yakatori chicken skewers, aubergine and breaded prawn wrapped in rice. All were delicious and we then ordered the Bento box of chicken Katsu curry which came with Miso soup, rice, salad, breaded chicken with curry sauce and pickles. Excellent.

We came for lunch on a Friday and must have just timed it right as shortly afterwards the place was busy.

Taken here by my son and very impressed with the service and the food. Dishes explained well and help with choices. Food was very good and I will be back.

We have been twice to sushi Nara and we loved it, the food is fabulous. We especially liked Jae the Korean lady, she’s a genuine asset and so so friendly. Would highly recommend !!

You must go. A lovely menu with a variety to choose from. Quality second to none. Easy local parking.

All the food was very tasty, fresh, and bloody brilliant. Reasonably priced too. All staff friendly and helpful, would definitely go again. Just remember though, if you’re leaving a tip, remember to bring cash

I’ve been here many times now and it’s by far the best food in Staines. Service is great and always comes with a smile, no matter what day of the week or time of the day.

I regularly go to sushi Nara to satisfy my sushi cravings and it does not disappoint.

I’m not exaggerating, eating food at sushi Nara has made me a huge fan of this great gem of a place. If are a fan of sushi or have never eaten sushi I would recommend this place either way, you will not be disappointed at all and they even do delivery on Uber eats! Yes it may be a bit pricey but you really are paying for quality too

Just had sushi Nara with members of the family. There were four adults and two children. It was hard to get the attention of waitress to order.

We visited this restaurant late last year and thoroughly enjoyed our meal at the restaurant. The sushi was fresh and tasty and the dumplings were amazing - we ordered twice! Definitely recommend and prices are reasonable.

This is the first time myself and my colleagues have tried Sushi Nara and we were not disappointed! Fantastic friendly service with amazing food! Perfectly cooked food, thick cut sushi with amazing soy sauce! Will be back soon!

Had a great time in Sushi Nara, Staines with my parents, celebrating my mum's birthday. All the staff were lovely and very welcoming, with a great service! They accommodated to a nut allergy well. All the food was great. Will definitely be coming again.

Sushi Nara is just a winner every time! Never had a bad meal and is my go to place whenever I fancy going out for a bite.

Their move from a small but cosy little place to a much airier, upmarket space hasn’t effected the excellent quality of their food. We’re so pleased that Sushi Nara has stayed and expanded in staines. Best restaurant in the area.

If you want great quality sushi, this is the place. I have been frequenting sushi Nara for the last 15 years. My all time favourite are the Nara Rolls (spicy mayo!) & Dragon rolls (the eel, yum!). With the new restaurant, they have added two new stuff that I adore, the Wednesday lady rolls and grilled aubergine (dreamy!).

If you like sushi and Asian food with good service you cant go wrong. Best place for miles, great service and very reasonable prices.

The decor is not overly amazing like London fancy schmancy restaurants, but the food is OMG!!!! The place is always full of Koreans, Chinese and Japanese - which is a great sign.

Sushi Nara has moved from their original venue to a new venue across the street. Bigger, sleeker but still feels friendly and familiar. Perhaps it’s because staff members like Sonal and Anil are always warm and welcoming. Today we got to see the owner as well! Always friendly as usual. Since we were the first people there during lunch time, we noted the diners who came later. The restaurant was full by the time we left perhaps with only one table left. And I could safely say 90% of the diners then were repeat diners as they were greeted by Sonal with the warm familiarity you give when you know someone. Great customer service.

Best shusi do try it im not wrong. Good selection of dishes never disappointed . Or fast delivery service.

This place has delicious and fresh Sushi. It waayyy better than places like Yo Sushi and some of the other chain sushi places. The staff is super friendly and attentive. Im there at least once a month :)

Lovely friendly little restaurant. Sushi is made to order and so expect to wait a little while but worth the wait! I love the teriyaki chicken bento set but I have never had a bad meal. My vegetarian daughter loves it too!

Found this restaurant via tripadvisor reviews and went to have lunch. The food was really good and the service was exceptionally good too. The price was also reasonable. If you like Japanese food and Sushi it’s a must to visit in Staines. Will be back again if we are in the area.

Food is amazing, service is great and staff is very friendly. We’ve been there a few times (see selection of pictures) and we’ve never been disappointed. Food is fresh, lots of choice and portions are good. I definitely recommend.

My fiancée and I regularly visit this restaurant as the food is well priced and authentic. I lived in Japan for 3 years and honestly this restaurant is better than some of the Japanese restaurants I’ve frequented in Central London. If you want authentic Japanese food, look know further! We love this place!

Visit here regularly with my wife - one of our favourite places to go. Really fantastic Sushi and an interesting range of dishes. Love the tempura soft shell crab! An absolutely fantastic restaurant and BYOB is an added bonus!

A lovely cozy place located in Staines. Great for an after work business meeting or catch up.

Both my husband my myself love sushi and this is an extremely nice place. They look small from the outside so it's a bit misleading but they have a decent seating space at the top. Once we realised that we are regulars. Not a very fancy place but amazing food at affordable prices.

Since I last wrote a review about this restaurant in Oct 2017, I have to say, I ate my words (and a lot of sushi!), and have been back there so often we should really buy some shares of the outfit (I would if only they allowed it). Anyway, in the spirit of a review, let's revisit some points:

It was cosy, but the staff were friendly and the sushi was good. Been there two or three times now and it was the same good quality and atmosphere each time.

Delicious authentic Japanese cuisine. Everything is so fresh and we have never been disappointed. The only thing we don’t like is that they are closed on a Sunday and Monday!!! We want it to be open 7 days a week!

This is a “proper” sushi restaurant rather than a keiten bar, tucked away in Staines with a small, unassuming frontage. It’s well worth Seeking it out though, as the fish quality is excellent, the service attentive and the pricing very reasonable for food of this quality.

The menu is varied, the sushi is great. The tempura is crispy and non greasy. I would recommend this restaurant against any sushi chain any day. Added bonus is that the staff are really friendly and helpful.

Heard lots of great reviews from colleagues and trip advisor.. and can confirm they were all spot on but didn’t realise how humble the staff were too.. the food is amazing.. fresh tasty and very reasonably priced.. cosy little friendly restaurant and better than 90% of the fancy sushi restaurants I’ve visited! Lots of amazing flavours... tempura was perfect! Crispy not greasy.. flavour explosions and plenty of variety! Give it a go! You won’t regret it! I’ve been to Sushi Nara many times and it never fails to deliver great food and service. My wife is Japanese so she knows where is best to eat and it’s not the chain places like Yo Sushi etc. Even if you’re not a fan of sushi there’s plenty else on the menu. For first visit I recommend trying as many as the small plates as possible instead of a bento box or donburi as you’ll fill yourself up. There’s no alcohol served inside but you can bring your own and they’ll happily give you glasses. Value for money is brilliant. Best to book in advance, it’s a small place and can get very busy.

This is a tiny place and the actual dining happens at the second floor so you can't look inside from the street. It does not compare to the fancy sushi joints in downtown London, but it was actually better than i expected. No alcohol served. Very friendly waitress.

This restaurant is quite small but whenever we have visited it's always been full and that is for a reason - the food is excellent and service is quick and friendly.

I have often walked or cycled past this restaurant, and have never gone in, due to my Wife's revulsion of uncooked foods...... However, I like to try everything , and having a Danish parent, I'm really used to Sild ( Herring roll mops) - a scandi type of sushi . Anyway , this restaurant is very un-pretentious , they are very welcoming and the staff are so friendly and respectful , it was amazing and such a refreshing change. We went for the House Special , a big plate of Sushi , and what a treat this was, beautifully presented and soooo tasty. We had Chicken Gyota for started, plus the Full Bento Nara for mains , and was very filling- We spent £ 18.00 each , very reasonable and totally delicious, will definetly be going back ( without my wife) ......

Six of us went for an early Saturday lunch and had a mix of starters and mains including the ever popular bento boxes. I particularly liked the kimchi gyoza. The service is always great. It was a bit cold inside though.

Visited here recently for dinner with friends as this restaurant has a high reputation for good quality sushi. It is a small place with a shop on the ground floor which is where you can buy takeout and the restaurant is upstairs. I would say there was no more than 10 tables. Quite an extensive menu choice for such a small place, starters, mains, sharing plates and of course the sushi, even desserts. Only soft drinks are served but you can take your own alcohol if you want to.

A short wait as we had not booked but worth it again! We had sushi, pumpkin patties, avocado sandwich and rice bowls - all were amazing! Veg substitutes give. Food was tasty and came out quickly. Impressed again

This was the best sushi I have had since coming to England. We will be back for sure. Every roll we had was so great. Service was fast. Thank you
