Fish cooked fresh to order. Light, crispy batter (not greasy). Nice chippy chips. Excellent customer service. Friendly staff.

This is undoubtedly the best fish and chip shop in Dorking. That is not saying it is great because the others are really terrible. Tonight I had a good real cod but the chips a bit pale, greasy and soft. Go here, avoid the others.

We often have takeaway from here and the batter is very good crispy & tasty , chips is a very generous portion and of great quality . Previously eaten in the restaurant & this was a great experience too

Superdish seems to be a bit hit or miss. Had fish and chips 2 or 3 months ago and it was okay. Today was definitely a miss, Both fish and chips were very overcooked, fish was very dry and the chips were over cooked and dripping in oil, they also tasted like they had been cooked in very over used rancid oil that should have been thrown away a long time ago. Too much of a gamble getting my dinner here, won't be doing it again

Ordinary quality fish and weird chips. What oil do they use and aren't there laws about cruelty to potatoes? A long long wait and strange pricing - I'll avoid in future.

Had cod and chips takeaway Sat May 17, so badly cooked and dripping with oil (all over car, clothing, and kitchen carpet!) we complained and picked up a free replacement order today, 22nd. Just the same - we won't be back for a 3rd attempt, so new owners good luck for the future, you're gonna need it . . .

Perfectly cooked Cod & Chips - also recommend their homemade chicken nuggets, made with real chicken pieces. Friendly and polite service, highly recommend !

Stopped on the off chance on the way back from LHR. The fish was beautifully cooked - tender and very fresh. The Chips were cooked in fresh oil and fresh hand cut Potatoes were used. Absolutely DELICIOUS! These are the best Fish and Chips I've eaten for over 20 Years! So often now it all tastes the same and like Cardboard. Please try them! Cooked by 2 young people ( a family run business) and cooked beautifully! Worth waiting for them to be cooked fresh and piping hot - just as they should be! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

we both had small cod & chips, I would hate to see the large, must of been big. The fish itself was very good and the batter, just how I like it. The chips where wonderful, forgot to ask what make. Will definitely return.

Delicious fish and chips, a very generous portion which was excellent considering it was yummy and I was very hungry!! All staff were very, very friendly, making you feel welcome, but a particular mention to Tallula <3 who made me feel right at home!!! Would definitely recommend this restaurant. We usually use another dorking chippie but thought we’d try superdish for a change;god what a dissapointment,we waited nearly 25 mins for our fish and it was bloody awful ,the chips were okay but hardly any fish what there was was like rubber

This is a mixed review. The staff were friendly. The food was still hot when I got it home. There was a bit of a wait fit the food. The main issue was one of the young lads who served me gave such small portions of chips and they were supposed to be large portions. Considering the difference in the price, this was very disappointing. I couldn’t complain because I wasn’t eating In and I didn’t realise until I got home. It’s a shame as the food itself was tasty and hot.

If you are struggling to find somewhere to eat in Dorking I strongly advise going to superdish. The staff are lovely and welcoming and the food leaves me coming back for more!

Second time I’ve eaten here and must admit it was a bit nicer when I eat inside. Still was a nice meal but could have been an excellent meal with a little more care. Fish was excellent with clear care and effort taken with its cooking. Chips were good a little overcooked and not too hot as well as being quite a small portion. Peas and Curry Sauce were bang average and clearly from the temperature were not fresh and had been microwaved. Bread Roll was horrific and crumbled in my hands. Clearly either frozen and defrosted or out of date.When you have as wonderful a product as the fish why ruin it by not having the little parts of the meal perfect to accompany it? Fresh peas, Curry sauce and bread rolls is easy to do and would make such a difference. Do it properly ...

Beautiful crispy hot and top quality bacon sandwich here for £2.50 that is a absoulute bargain i always really enjoy the bacon sandwich here its defiantley the best in Dorking as far as im aware. The atomsphere is very positive and staff are friendly and passionate they also make you smile it is also clean and has very nice interior.

We went to the recently refurbished Superdish at the bottom of Dorking High St with our 2 children today. Firstly, Paul and Monika the new owners made sure we got a warm welcome and sat us in a lovely sunny spot. The place was bustling on a busy Saturday lunch and I can see why. We all ordered small fish and chips (see picture) and were pleasantly surprised by the huge delicious looking portions we received. The batter was the best I’ve ever tasted and the chips were steaming hot and very tasty too. The older couple sat next to us told us they drive up specially from Worthing every Saturday and the lady was 98 so it must be worth it! Lovely staff, lovely food and lovely refit.....well done. Highly recommended!

I was brought up in Dorking but hadn't been into Super Dish for years. Passing through tonight my wife and I decided to go in for dinner. Our experience was genuinely brilliant. Apart the fact that the interior hasn't changed at all since I was a teenager (and still very clean), the service from all the staff was polite and friendly, especially the boss lady and the charming waitress. Our fish was light with perfect batter, the chips were golden and had clearly been cooked in very clean oil. Portion sizes were generous and all the food and drinks very reasonably priced. We shall make a point of coming again the next time we are in town!

I was working locally with a group of guys and everyone was getting peckish.Most fancied fish and chips which meant driving into town.It was getting on for 2pm so I had my doubts anywhere would be open.Luckily Superdish was open and the owner quickly supplied 8 portions of fish and chips along with a few cold cans of drink.All the guys said the meal was very good.As the owner packed them in a box with tin foil everything was still nice and hot.Thanks.

Top quality fish and chips here. Do senior specials also. Lovely take away and eat in restaurant with attentive friendly service by the owners who cook and serve and put a lot of effort into making sure you enjoy your food. Good quality fish which is well cooked.

A kind request to the owners, please train your staff properly before letting them loose unsupervised. I bought a “large” chips which is usually more than plenty for two people. The young lad making up the order took an age to post a few chips into the bag and I ended up with a portion size much less than even a “small” chips. The portion was less than half what I usually get. Had I noticed whilst still in the shop I would have raised it. It’s a shame I didn’t get to see the portion size whilst the poor lad took his time having at least 2 attempts at wrapping up the order.

I went in and just wanted chips. Went to sit down and very rude lady curtly snaps that I cannot eat in because I had brought take away food. Well, is this a reason to be so rude? I did not know the small seated area was treated as a restaurant space, I am used to being able to buy fast food and eat it in. It was the unnecessary rude manner which shocked me. If they have a policy like this then it would have been possible to explain politely, and as the shop was not busy and I am just one person, a little bit of discretionary kindness may have been an option, the small portion of chips was very small and cost £1.80. Didn't enjoy it sitting outside on a bench along the main road in the cold and dark!

I was taken here by a friend who recommended it. I wasn't disappointed. The cod was encased in crisp tasty batter and the chips excellent. All washed down with a hot and strong cuppa!

Didn’t fancy cooking so picked up fish and chips on the way home for myself and my family. The food was lovely and the batter nice and crispy. Chips were freshly made and nice and hot. I will definitely be back.

Basic pie and chips. Eat in. Food hygiene rating 5. Busy. Steady footfall of regular customers. Would not bring the wife for a night out. But ok for work on the road.

The whole place looks tired as is the food. The taste of the food was poor I think they have given up. The fryers need a oil change or maybe the “chef”. I would not go back as you can get a much better quality fish and chips from the other shops just in the local area. Give it a miss.

Stopped by today and I decided after seeing another customer with a breakfast, I would try one. I wasn't disappointed. Cooked to perfection. My husband had Haddock (allegedly) It was so big and nearly hanging off the plate, i thought it was a whale. Very white, no bones and tasty. Chips were lovely too.

La pareja que lleva este lugar son muy intolerantes y a veces grosero. Creo que han estado en el negocio por mucho tiempo, han olvidado que el cliente es el rey en estos días. También el pescado y patatas fritas varían en calidad. He tenido algunas buenas comidas, pero también algunos chocante a los más pequeños.

I had a craving for fish and chips and it was a massive disappointment. The fish was dry and tasteless. The batter was thick on one side and barely edible.

Eat in or take away the fish is so fresh and delilciously cooked. Nice little tables inside if you want to eat straight away. Servers have a great system so you don't have to wait very long.

Quite a long wait to be served as it was busy which is fair enough.Large cod was a good size and very tasty, but the 'large' chips were not large at all - a small portion in comparison.Not sure if we would go again as there was nothing particularly excellent about it.

I don't understand where the good reviews of Superdish are coming from. We had fish and chips there today with our two children. Superdish is a dirty place, the chairs we sat on were torn and the floor under the table filthy. We ordered two large cod and chips and asked for two empty plates to portion food for our toddlers. Usually we buy the kids version in other restaurants but here there is poor choice. The fish was ok but came with bones. The chips were the lowest quality you can imagine. Some were green and some had black bits on them. At the till we were charged 10% more because -according to the waitress we asked for empty plates. The owner is not a friendly person and his staff seem to be scared of him. You are better off having a sandwich on the go than eating here. Will never go again.

We eat at Superdish regularly and find the food and service excellent. The staff are always friendly and helpful. The food is always delicious and there have never been any problems. The menu has a variety of different options, suitable for everyone. In our opinion, this is the best fish and chip shop that we know!!

I've been a customer of Super Dish since I moved in down the road in February. I've never had a bad meal - I'd particularly recommend the plaice, but all of the fish I've had has been fresh and well fried. The service is always friendly - the don't mind me phoning ahead with an order and have even taken my post in - so great fish and chip shop and lovely neighbours.

I cannot comment on the shop because I have never been in it but we have used Super Dish for several years to supply F &amp; C for our annual quiz night for about 40 to 50 people. Every year the order has been delivered on time to our venue in Dorking and is correct (the order can include chicken, sausage or pie instead of fish). The F &amp; C have always been very good, Everything is nicely packaged, the price charged is excellent value and the bill has always been correct. This year I made an error in the order and we were 2 short. They very kindly did 2 more meals and brought them to us. This was wonderful service. I can thoroughly recommend this shop for bulk orders. If you want to use them the best thing is to make a booking as soon as you can and give them the exact food order about a week ahead as they may need to order in supplies.

Had a beautiful medium cod, chips and mushy peas with a can of diet coke. Good clean and bright ambience. Friendly staff and good ingredients. Loved the batter and the soft white cod flakes. Definitely will become a regular.

It's an average chippy with above average prices, which could be forgiven if the service was any good but normal waiting times in there for food are around 45 minutes if you're eating in.I've ended up walking out twice after being told it will be ready in '10 minutes' and being left sat like a lemon for more than 20.I definitely won't go there again, they're just lucky there isn't another fish and chop shop on Dorking high street otherwise they'd go out of business.

If you are looking for the best Fish and Chips in Dorking ?, then don't try this place.We have just eaten the worst fish and chips ever, it was so bad. We are sure that both the cod and the chips had been left in the warmer since lunch time. The batter was chewy, the cod was dry and the chips were only scraps and like cardboard. Both meals were put in the bin after two mouthfuls. We will never buy another take away from this fish and chip shop ever again.

I went with my son and grandson to have a sit down supper at Super Dish this week, the staff were friendly and made us very welcome. The shop was spotlessly clean, we sat at one of the tables and it was nice to have a padded seat rather than just a plastic chair. The menu is varied with the food cooked to order so it is extremely fresh and hot. My grandson commented that it was the best fish and chips he has ever eaten so a huge compliment to the staff. Could highly recommend this establishment. We had a small wait for the food but as it was cooked to order this was expected

As a visitor in Dorking, my partner and I decided to try this little chippy. We ordered haddock and rock with chips, and cold drinks, The food was beautifully cooked, my haddock was especially good, and portion sizes ample. The prices are your average for a chippy. It was a hot day and while the restaurant was very warm, they had electric fans going. The staff were friendly and the young girl who served us was very sweet. The food did take some time to arrive, but having said that, it was cooked to order and was very fresh. We will certainly go there again next time we visit Dorking.

Nice chippie don't get me wrong food is lovely and fresh chips nice but poor service lets it down you get told after you order that your food will take 10mins but it ends up being more like 25mins,also they are so slow at asking you for your order.i also found it a bit pricey as well.

Been here quite a few times over the last 2 years its always been good with freshly fried food. Its very clean.Unfortunately experienced very poor customer service tonight.There were 3 people in there queuing and I thought i would be in and out for a large chips and 2 jumbo sausages.1 lad was doing a batch order. The other lad was very slowly serving people. Unfortunately the til roll needed changing so couldn't pay first. When eventually my order was ready. Diners were leaving and they proceeded to the single til. The girl them proceeded to take all there money whilst my food was getting on the side. So i had to vote with my feet and leave and get something else.Serving people could have had a smile and apologised for the wait or had the decency to serve take my money first.Advise would be sit down and eat in there as that way you get better service than the take away people.

I have been to this fish and chip shop a few times and the service is sooooo slow. The youngsters have no concept of customer service. One time while waiting for one order to cook they all just stood there and waited until it was ready, rather than ask anyone else in the lengthening queue what they wanted. Several people didn't want fish so could have been served immediately.Another time when it was my turn to be served they completely ignored me and went to the person behind me. When I complained they said that they were now serving him and I would have to wait.I haven't been back since and have no intention of returning - there is a far better fish and chip shop up the road.

My wife takes my our 2-year old son here once a week for lunch and I occasionally accompany them. The food is good, reliable and reasonably priced and the service is fantastic. The family that run the place are incredibly welcoming and friendly and once you've been a few times they always make time to chat and get to know you. The younger waitress always serves us and remembers our usual order down to the last detail. This is an old-fashioned eat-in chippy with a warm, family feel and we will continue to frequent it.

So surprised at some of the negative remarks. On our 3rd visit the young waitress, Emma asked if we wanted our usual and remembered. The older lady, sue, brought out our drinks with a smile and the older man behind the counter, Colin always smiles and has time for a chat. We have NEVER had a rude experience or bad food. Sometimes fish has bones but you can't tell until you eat it. I also believe if you smile and are interactive with people you get it returned twofold. See you soon superdish.

We came in, With welcoming staff and were invited to a table, we sat down and the waiter gave us a menu. I had the Cod and Chips. The Waiter kindly gave us our meals and we got stuck in. The Fish was full of flavour, hardly any bones and very tasty batter. The chips were very nice and fluffy. Thank you Superdish for serving Dorking with Fish and Chips! Lovely!

We had dinner here last week. I can't ever remember experiencing such a sarcastic and confrontational person working in such an environment. My boyfriend ordered a large cod and chips. A third of the way through his cod, after taking out a 6/7th large bone i encouraged him to ask for scampi or another alternative, as that many bones only a third into a cooked fish is unpleasant. I expected, as would be the norm in any other establishment, for the food to be replaced without hesitation or fuss. The lovely young waitress took his plate into the kitchen when she was met by said lady. The young waitress said to the lady, 'there are bones in his fi...' She was cut off as the lady stomped out qnd squared up to our table, 'there ARE bones in fish you know?!'.... Well, we were all quiet and taken aback by this sudden attitude. She knew she'd just created major atmosphere. My boyfriend just replied politely, 'i know there are bones in fish. I dont mind one or two but five or six large ones would put anyone off. If you could, may i have scampi instead of fish?' She looked at his plate, 'You've eaten most of it, so I'll have to charge you for it'. We all looked at the fish, which definitely wasn't mostly eaten. She knew what she'd said didn't stand up. Quickly, she backed into the kitchen and said, 'right I'll put the scampi on'. She was seriously pi**ed off over something minor in our eyes. Anywhere else would have had the good grace to apologise and just replace the meal. The food was very mediocre anyway, chips were lukewarm and discoloured, fish totally tasteless with thick batter. Anyway, we sat in silence whilst the scampi cooked. The lady brought the scampi over and said to my boyfriend, who was moving the bones and remaining fish off his big plate onto a side plate, 'do you want me to sort that out?' My boyfriend replied, 'no, thanks, I've done it now. She said, starting to walk away, 'oh, cuz i was going to ask if you wanted fresh chips.' He said, as she walked away, 'ah, yes, if you could?! 'Too late!!' she called sarcastically behind her and she laughed. As you can imagine, at this final comment, we sat wide eyed and, well, astonished. We finished our meals, paid and left. I realise she begrudgingly provided a replacement but never was an apology uttered (other than by the young waitress, who by the way looked mortified) and her sarcasm and attitude was appauling. We will never return obviously, we're still confused and pretty upset about the whole thing..... Weird... Really weird.... It's so grotty too, they should shut the place down

The title says it all. Delicious, fresh fish, superb chips. Unbeatable. Eat in or takeaway. This is a long established family run business - and their in depth experience shows through in the quality of their food.

Just moved to Dorking and decided to get fish and chips from Superdish.The service was awful.The young girl that served me was ridiculously slow.When I got home the fish was horrible and dry and most of the chips were bad.I went back imedeatley and saw an older lady who was really rude,didn't make eye contact and turned her back to me.I thought I'd give them the benefit of doubt as it was my first time but the second meal wasn't any better!!Complete waste of money and unbelievably rude staff.

My daughter &amp; friend (aged 11) ventured into superdish on one of their first trips out into town on their own today. At about three in the afternoon they ordered chips but after being served them were told in no uncertain terms that they weren't allowed to sit down and eat them at a table as they 'hadn't ordered full meals' - it was pouring with rain outside and the tables were all empty! If the place had been full of waiting customers I could understand but it wasn't and just seems very mean spirited to me. Reading through previous reviews here I see I'm not the only one to think the service here is poor and the staff rude.

I often pop into Super Dish when in Dorking &amp; as a rule, I tend to have the haddock and chips. Young lady who almost always serves me, remembers that I prefer brown sauce with my meal &amp; always offers it to me in advance. Gentleman who tends to do most of the cooking, always has time for a chat with the seated customers. Very reasonably priced, personally, I always find the food tastes very fresh, portions are good sized, as well. This Fish &amp; Chip shop is as good as many of the higher priced, more fashionable eateries of it's type. I eat out a lot and cook a lot myself, I do feel I very quickly that I can pick up on poor quality food. In my opinion the fish in particular is fresh, tasty &amp; not "over battered" The ambience of the seated area, is reminiscent of a bygone era.

Have been to this fish and chip shop many times before and it is generally pretty good, but lately the service has got steadily worse. No one makes any eye contact with people in the queue and the wait is painful sometimes with what seems like endless fish and chip orders being made up behind the counter, only to be wrapped up and placed on the warm counter top for collection by other people. No one ever says to anyone waiting in the long queue 'won't be a minute' or 'please bear with us'. At the weekend, 4 customers walked out of the shop in the 30 minutes I waited for ONE person to be served in front of me. They are losing loads of money!! I even rang in my takeaway order for the first time at the weekend - only to turn up and wait 30 minutes in a queue that didn't move, until I asked someone if my order was being looked at. I got a vague look and about 10-15 mins later, got my order. I cannot stand the level of service and what seems like complete disinterest in their customer base... there is an AMAZING fish and chip van in Westcott Village at 6.30 pm every Saturday night. I'll be going there in future. A real shame but someone needs to point out that your customer base is meant to be looked after, not ignored.

Its such a shame have used Super Dish for years because the food is consistently good.What is also consistent is the shocking Women that co owns it, she is always extremely miserable and rude.In fact I hate visiting so much my wife has to collect the fish and chips as I cant bear the place.If I ran a retail outlet I would take my staff there to demonstrate the worst customer service i have ever ever experienced!

An unplanned visit with the family as we were passing through Dorking on way home. Unexpected (to us) eat in facility in the restaurant was a pleasant surprise as we had only really planned a takeaway. All four of us managed to sit round the fixed table and chairs adding to the atmosphere - although it was a little more difficult to squeeze out after our meal. Food was nice and fresh and hot and really friendly service by the staff and waitress and we hardly had to wait any time for it to be served. I recommend the Haddock, mushy peas, chips, curry sauce and onion rings (naughty but nice!), washed down with a tin of diet (somewhat ironic) coke all at a very reasonable price. Will definitely come back again - thank you Super dish for our super fish...

Having lived in Surrey all my life and tried many different fish and chip shops, this is definitely my favourite. The fish is always fresh and tasty and there's a nice sit down area with waitress service on offer too. The owners are friendly and enjoy a laugh and a joke with customers and the waitresses are polite and helpful. If you're looking for a tasty good value fish and chip supper in Dorking be sure to try Super Dish.

Much like the other reviewers - I refuse to go back because the service is so awful. The food is fine, but not good enough to make up for the miserable staff. Don't go here, there are other fish and chip shops very close that has better food, and people who actually seem to want to serve their customers.

Although the food is good the service is absolutely terrible. Went in tonight and was glared at by an old woman who then turned around and walked away, the boy serving didn't even bother to look up. I waited for at least ten minutes before he asked what I wanted (still no eye contact or smile), he virtually threw the food at me when ready. If you don't like people why work in a shop? Please leave and save all your poor customers from having to look at your miserable faces.

I don't understand why this fish and chip shop think its acceptable to ignore customers. I walked out a few weeks ago waiting to be served because it was as though I was invisible. I went in there tonight and saw the same thing happen to someone else. Get your customer service act together superdish cos you're not the only fish and chip shop in town!

I was very disappointed on my visit here. Served cold chips by a miserable lady. When I complained her attitude was appalling. Extremely obnoxious, dismissive and rude. I won't be returning. Very poor customer service. Feel sorry for the happy chap in there, he's always rather delightful.
