What a surprise to find this fantastic little pizza place in Bungay. I've got to say it's the best pizza in the area including Lowestoft. Will definitely be coming back. Great service and friendly young staff. Well done 👏

We had takeaway pizza from Suffolk Stonehouse whilst on holiday in the area. Ordering online was very straightforward. Price was very reasonable and our order was ready at the requested time. Above all though, the pizza was delicious, one of the best we've had. Would definitely recommend and will visit again when next in the area.

Have ordered a few times now from here, the food was perfect as always, delivered on time, lovely and hot and delicious as always. The staff are always friendly and even with masks on you can see them serving you with a smile!

A huge thank you to the brilliant team at Suffolk Stonehouse, for feeding me when I am far too tired to feed myself. After a busy week, sometimes pizza is the only answer and you make it SO EASY. The app makes it super quick to order online (you can even create your own pizza and pick the base/sauce etc) and you can either pick up at an allotted time or get a delivery. Always on time, always efficient, banging pizza. Thankyou!

This was the first time I’ve tried Suffolk Stonehouse Pizza and it definitely won’t be the last. The pizza was delivered quickly and was lovely. It was hot and had plenty of toppings. It also tasted very fresh. I was very impressed by the choice available. I’m looking forward to trying more soon!

I am a self certified pizza lover and I can honestly say these are the best pizzas you will find in the area! I used to regularly visit the restaurant but luckily Suffolk Stonehouse organised takeaways and delivery throughout lockdown and beyond which is a lovely treat! This is what 2020 needs! Keep up the good work... we will be back soon!!

We were camping nearby and so fancied a night off cooking. The pizzas were ready for collection at our requested time and were fine but a little too thin for our liking. We felt that the extra toppings we’d paid for were a bit lacking

We are staying on a nearby campsite and at the teenagers request they wanted pizza.....the menu here had lots of choice and exciting toppings to choose from, so the online Oder was placed. We got a confirmation e mail promptly and due to our pretty large order, was treated to a complimentary bottle of wine which was very much appreciated! Delicious thin Italian style pizzas that tasted delicious....we were very happy campers!

This is the best pizza restaurant for absolutely miles around, and it is an independent concern and an award winning one at that.When we want to treat ourselves(my birthday on this occasion) we always get a Suffolk Stonehouse pizza takeaway. The restaurant is only a few minutes walk away and ordering via their app in advance is superb.We would recommend Suffolk Stonehouse wholeheartedly.

We ordered nine pizzas to be delivered to our campsite on a Sunday night. The delivery was swift, the pizzas delicious, the person who delivered them was friendly and answered our queries about the pizza names. We were given two complimentary beers. All the pizzas were lovely but the mushroom pizza with pesto sauce was especially well received. We were social distancing between our family groups so particularly appreciated that the chap who delivered the pizza kept his distance and behaved appropriately. Top experience all round.

Excellent takeawy, it has kept us sane during the lockdown. A pizza, larger/wine and a film, feels almost like a normal Saturday night out. Can recommend the GF, the best I have had in the area. Staff always helpful and polite.

Not fresh produce the pizzas in this so called restaurant who specialise in pizza are an insult. Service was equally dreadful we was the only table eating after we received our food we understood why it was empty enough said

First visit - great. This time - very disappointing. We had a reservation for six and arrived to be directed to a table for four. The staff then added two more place settings and this was very cramped. Food good but service poor. Tjis restaurant needs to decide whether their focus is dining or a takeaway. Constant takeaway collections in such a small setting is not relaxing. Make your mind up...

Suffolk Stonehouse on a Wednesday evening.......midweek treat. Nice welcome from the staff on a busy evening. The pizza and pasta here cannot be beaten. Pizza was delicious and the Lasagne was equally as good. We'll be eating here again very soon.

We love this place always friendly and cosy atmosphere. Great to be able to have a different pizza you won’t see anywhere else. Also love the local nods. Chicken roundabout a fave. After a lovely relaxed meal I didn’t realise I’d left my bag. A member of the team ran after me and returned it above and beyond. Thank you we will be back soon

Ate here on a Saturday evening.Last minute decision and glad we did.Seated in a lovely corner area which was very quirky and comfortable.Had a drink before ordering.I chose The Pulhams with my wife opting for The Harlston.My wife is not a great lover of pizza as I am but loves the pizza at The Stonehouse.We both had a few drinks and really enjoyed a relaxed evening.Service was spot on.We never felt pushed to order or hassled in any way but service was prompt and friendly. Great selection of pizza and pasta dishes and a nice drinks selection. Forget Domino's and Pizza Hut.These are the tastiest pizzas around with great service in the most pleasant atmosphere.

Sadly leaving a not so good review, have had takeaway from here before and pizza’s are lovely. Tonight however we ate in, and were made to wait nearly 40 mins for mains after our starter with no explanation. When we asked what the delay was, we were told that they decided to serve another family first. There were only two parties in so didn’t really explain the problem?? Even then the gluten free pizza came a good few minutes after everyone else’s. Staff were not very apologetic for the delay and we were made to feel very uncomfortable for even asking the question. Sadly won’t visit again as very poor service.

Visited here ans have done several times before pizza was ok but very thin based and got cold very quickly as plates were not hot and the place was freezing no radiators on at all i sat in my coat my advice is wrap up well

Lovely food and service, the goats cheese tart starter was particularly great. The ambience was also perfect, and the music was also really nice.

The atmosphere in charming, the staff funny and warm and efficient, the service Swift, the pizza outstanding. The menu is quirky and vatied; there are always specials too. The staff will tailor any pizza to your needs, the base and sause is delicious and authenti, and the toppings - well, that's up to you! A relaxed, happy place that has never disappointed. We are so lucky to have this in beautiful Bungay.

Our first visit and certainly won't be our last. We ordered garlic bread with cheese to begin it was lovely and crisp with just the right amount of garlicness. I then had the Chicken roundabout pizza and my wife went for the Harleston. My daughter had the child's lasagne. Our pizzas were fabulous thin stone baked crust with plenty of topping. The child's lasagne was a good portion size and not overwhelming thumbs up from the littlen. Finished with the delightful mango and malibu cheesecake. Great family meal in a good relaxed atmosphere. Price was fair to especially for the quality of the ingredients.

Popped in for a quick pizza wish I hadn’t bothered served by a loud waitress ordered pizza so much cheese scraped half off and still to much not enough topping just cheese

All the pizzas can be prepared on gluten free pizza bases (yey!). Customisable toppings and a great locally themed range including 'The Saints' (with goats cheese and balsamic vinegar) and 'Chicken Roundabout' (with chicken and BBQ sauce) all featuring lovely luxury ingredients like locally sourced brie. Service is friendly and the atmosphere relaxed and welcoming, but the restaurant is tiny and the amount of toppings you get on your pizza can very from lashings to a bit on the scanty side, hence a 4* rather than 5*. Almost perfect. I'd recommend getting your gluten free pizza extra cooked and to take away.

Have always raved about this place in the past but last two visits have been poor. Pizza toppings were not nice and the service has been patchy at best. Such a shame because I've recommended this place to many people in the past.

We had a family party here over Christmas for 17 people, 5 were children under 7 and the staff were friendly and helpful. We had starters,the best pizza ever then desert and the very good house wine!

So this pizza is superb. Not just “better than you could cook at home” good, way better than that. Sort of “best pizza you will ever have even if you tour Italy” good. It is mind boggling that in the middle (well north I guess) of Suffolk, there is a pizza place serving pizza this good. Also the staff are really friendly the atmosphere is good and the house wine is great too. But the pizza.....aaah the pizza. Have the Pulham and the Flixton (local Brie on pizza is amazing).

I feel we arrived at a bad time. The restaurant was not busy, so we thought all would be quick. We were greeted pleasantly, seated and our orders taken. Within 15 mins our starter of garlic bread with mozzarella arrived. This was nice and set us up for our main meal. Then a number of takeaway orders were phoned in. Then these seemed to be all served before we were some 12-15 pizzas. It was a considerable time until our pizza arrived. Then both pizzas came a few mins apart although the takeaway pizzas managed to come together for 5 or 6 at a time. The pizzas were tasty and reasonable for the price. We were very hungry after the considerable wait. We would have had coffees etc, but all the staff disappeared to the kitchen. We cut our losses and asked for the bill when we saw them next. Some further 10 mins later they took the payment. Overall ok food for the price. If you are hungry best not to align with peak takeaway orders as diners take second place.

First time trying the Suffolk Stonehouse. We ordered a take-away and it was ready exactly to the minute they stated. Thin crust with loads of topping, just as we like them. The taste was perfection, looking forward to visiting again for a sit down meal. The restaurant was full, not surprising. Good menu choice. Well done.

We had our staff dinner last night at the Suffolk Stonehouse. We had sole use of the Cellar which was perfect for our group. The pizzas were great - thin crispy bases with loads of topping. The chocolate brownies went down a storm with those that had room for dessert. The staff were friendly, fun and accommodating.

Second visit here and didn’t disappoint. Great food, great service and reasonably priced. Knocks the chain pizza establishments into a cocked hat. Look forward to returning

Lovely pizza restaurant in the heart of Bungay. The pizza base is thin just the way I like. Recommend the calamari for starter. Good value and friendly staff.

We booked in on a Saturday afternoon after a local theatre production. The service was un-attentive, I got told off a few times for moving a chair and asking after 10-ish minutes if we could order. Admittedly they were busy with a hen party but most people had been served on the 4 tables occupied in the main restaurant area. So I wasn't quite sure why it took over 30 minutes after ordering to get our pizzas, and then my daughter had to wait a further 10 for hers - by which time we had all eaten half of ours.

Friendly staff. Lovely atmosphere. We had a brie calzone and stone house salad to start was very well presented and tasted great. Followed by a Pulham pizza and a Saints pizza both brilliant. Will be visiting more often.

Popped in last year. Had not booked a table so had to hang about for a very short time. It was well worth it. Food wonderful, service exemplary. Will be attending again in a few weeks when we visit the area.

small restaurant with big quality food. tastes like Italy. lasagne to die for. look out fir this restaurant. You could easily miss it. Plenty of street parking.

We had planned to be on holiday in Italy, but unfortunately circumstances conspired against us, so we decided to have a ‘Holiday at home’, but give it as much of an Italian theme as possible. To that end we searched the web for Italian restaurants in our area. We like to use Tripadvisor, trying to read the reviews with an ‘open mind’.

The Suffolk Stonehouse is a lovely restaurant located in the centre of Bungay which I am very glad we passed! We were served straight away and the food wait wasn't too long either- there was even a stand of books for impatient children! We all ordered pizzas which each had a delicious, homemade tomato sauce and a thin and crispy base. The toppings themselves were amazing with all sorts of choices for fussy eaters! The staff were also very friendly and were happy to help with all allergies. Even for an early Tuesday evening, it was lucky we got there early as we watched some families being sadly turned away! Definitely the best pizzas we have had in Britain- thank you!

Straight off I'll admit I'm a chef, so quite fussy, and I over analyse everthing I eat. I've just had my first taste of Suffolk Stonehouse pizza and have been very impressed. I rang and ordered on the way, was told my pizza and salad would be ready in 15 minutes after the hostess asked the chef aabout timings and I got there bang on time. I had a little chat with the lovely friendly, American?, lady and she got my food which was ready and waiting. I had the rocket salad with Gran Padano and it was perfect for me. I also had "The Pulhams" pizza which was great. A lovely chew and very slight char and blister to the crust, perfectly balanced tomato base and great meats with a perfect sharpness and chew to the cheese. Basically this was about as good as a thin crust pizza can be. I read some of the negative reviews some people have given the place and frankly I'm gobsmacked. " had to wait half an hour" get over yourselves, that's a normal amount of time in any restaurant. "I rang and booked a table when they we're closed" So basically you spoke to an answerphone because you didn't have the intelligence to read the opening times and you only found out later that the world didn't revolve around you? I can't wait to visit again personally.

This is a fantastic restaurant. Very friendly staff, happy to help with all aspects of the menu and dietary requirements and the pizzas were amazing - beautifully thin and crispy bases with generous helpings of homemade toppings. The homemade tomato base in particular, really added to the delicious pizza. Lovely to be in such a popular restaurant with a great atmosphere.

Phoned at 10am , booked table for 4.00pm for 1 adult , 2 children.

Just got back from this lovely little restaurant having had the most delicious pizza. Freshly baked, authentic pizza base with super tasty topping. I opted for BBQ rather than tomato base just to try something a bit different and can thoroughly recommend! And as I was stating at The Castle Inn, I got a free drink!

My husband and I visited The Suffolk Stonehouse on February 14th. The small restaurant had a cosy atmosphere with heart shaped candles and chocolate hearts decorating the tables in a lovely romantic setting.

Family of 7 had dinner here lots of different pizzas & every pizza was delicious! Nice small restaurant with great service will definitely be returning!

Terrible evening - no atmosphere, no management present for a team of young staff, very very very slow service waiting over 1 and quarter hours for soggy, over topped pizzas flooded with cheddar. Calamari was down to one portion at 7pm but on the menu...

This is a genuine pizza house where they know how pizza should be cooked. definitely worth waiting for he end result. It is the sort of place where, once you have discovered it in the midst of the take-away shops, you will definitely want to return.

My husband and I visited on Thursday night, we'd been several times before and loved the place, but this time we left disappointed. There was a 45 minute wait for our two pizzas, which isn't the end of the world but there was no communication during this time, and I got pretty fed up when a table that walked in 15 minutes after we had ordered got their pizzas first, which just isn't on! Take away orders were being prioritised, to the point I nearly ordered one myself.

Encountered this friendly pizza restaurant in Bungay one afternoon and, after seeing what customers were eating, we booked a table for the evening. Service was cheerful and helpful, and we enjoyed two of the best thin-crust pizzas we had eaten in quite a while. Puts the ‘chain’ restaurants to shame on how to cook a pizza to perfection! There is a wide variety of stone-baked pizzas to choose from, each having a refreshingly different range of toppings. Starters and drinks were all reasonably priced. Many thanks to the welcoming staff - we had a lovely evening. Will definitely return when we’re next in the area.

We booked a table for 4 to celebrate a birthday and we are glad we did. The seating was limited but the whole place had a great atmosphere. There were a few items apparently off the menu for the night but there was still plenty of choice.After waiting 30 mins out food arrived, it smelt amazing and I couldn't fault the amount of toppings on each pizza. Unfortunately the egg on my pizza was still raw under all the cheese and the staff kindly cooked the pizza a bit longer and also took the cost off the bill. I would have preferred my pizza cooked even more then it was but the flavours were amazing. The pizzas were very filling and the staff were friendly and attentive. I couldn't comment on the toilets but as a whole I really liked this place and will be returning again soon. It made a difference from the chain pizza places we all go to for a 'safe option' and you get a lot more for your money here.

I have visited the stone house previously last year and had no problems. We visited last Wednesday and waited 50 minutes for 3 pizzas - at the time we ordered we were the only ones in the restaurant. After we ordered some customers came in to order take away. They were given their pizzas first. After finishing the waitress told us that they have to prioritise take always first (even though they ordered in the restaurant after we had) and that they can only fit 8 pizzas in the oven ..... by the looks of things the take away customers only ordered 4 so they technically could have fit us all in at once. Overall the service was friendly but very slow - given it was very quiet and the pizzas were not as good as they used to be.

I went to the Stonehouse tonight (Aug 5th) and it was amazing. I've been to the Stonehouse before but this was the first time with my mum and we were both really impressed. Really lovely pizza and very friendly, attentive service from the girls serving us, especially Felicity. Always smiling and very happy to help. We visited Suffolk Stonehouse for our last evening meal whilst on holiday in Norfolk. The actual location and restaurant is lovely and very quaint, however, the food and service was disappointing. After ordering we waited 30 minutes for our pizzas, which, with two young children, isn't on. A salad we ordered with our pizza had anchovies set aside in a bowl (!) which we didn't ask for and no croutons. And my husband couldn't eat his pizza - it was wet and soggy in the middle so he shared mine. I'd love to give this a great review but sorry, it's not good at all.

Last night of our camping trip & the kids wanted pizza so we drove 25 mins to here as there wasn't anything closer. We had no phone signal so couldn't ring ahead to check there were tables free. Arrived to an empty restaurant to be told they were fully booked & couldn't fit us in but could do a takeaway. Kids desperate for pizza & the menu did look good so ordered. Told it would be a 20 minute wait. Lots of people walked in looking for tables whilst we waited & all ordered takeaways. We ended up waiting 35 minutes (lots of books & toys available to entertain the kids whilst we waited). The pizzas were amazing when they finally turned up (ours just after a couple that ordered 10 minutes after we did) but we felt that if they had put our pizzas in immediately we ordered we could have eaten & left before all the bookings arrived as the restaurant was still empty as we left (a good 45 minutes later as we sat outside in our car to eat the pizza!).So great food but slightly dodgy service. We would go again if in the area but would make sure we booked in advance.

Good pizza, but very slow service. This was at 6pm on a Wednesday... the restaurant was barely half full. An hour is just too long to wait, however nice the pizza is.

Really fantastic stone baked pizzas, we had a takeaway from here and they were absolutely delicious. Good size /price, welcoming staff and fresh out of the oven when we arrived. I'd recommend the chicken roundabout and Outney Common.

Restaurant and location is great. The pizza base and tomato sauce were very good but was let down by the cheese. It seemed to be a blend of mozzarella and cheddar which over powered all the other flavours. Was to much cheese also and was placed over the toppings.

No semi-semi-skimmed milk for coffees. Only one option - full fat. Constantly running out of calamari - the best dish. There is no excuse for that. Calamari comes as frozen they can buy plenty and store it in a freezer. The place is normally busy I think they are becoming complacent. If this carries on they will be going down the hill.

A lovely atmosphere, friendly and welcoming staff and most importantly delicious pizza. I've been here three times and it's always been a great experience. I also love the added touch of naming all the pizzas after local places. Highly recommend. The only downside is the size, it's very small so might not be the best for large groups!

We had a delicious meal on Friday night at the Suffolk Stonehouse. The antipasti sharing boards were excellent with delicious olives. Great gluten free options, my wife and I shared two pizzas and they were some of the best gluten free pizzas we've had! They've got the value for money spot on too.

Unpretentious; comfy; and what really makes it is the excellent food. I had a 'Norwich City' pizza, and my wife the lasagne. Both really tasty and generous with a very nice fresh green salad to accompany.A real pleasure

We booked for my husband and myself to go for dinner on my birthday. We knew we didn't want anything too lively as we had both had busy days and would be tired. Can only say that we must have got a bad night. The atmosphere wasn't great and the restaurant itself was chilly. Pizzas were mediocre at best. We had decided that after our main courses, hubby would like a dessert and I would have loved another glass of wine, however service was so slow and we got fed up with waiting so got the bill, paid and went home. The waitresses seemed to spend a lot of time chatting behind the restaurant area! Wouldn't bother again.

What a joy to have such a great little independent pizza restaurant and take-out in the heart of Bungay. There are a small number of tables, with the majority of the business coming from a steady number of takeaways. We were very impressed by the pizzas- great thin crusts, delicious sauces and super toppings. Much better than the chains. Support local!

Pre-Booked downstairs function room, lovely, to celebrate a colleagues birthday.1.5hr wait for a pre-booked GF pizza, not acceptable! I was told "they had to clean the oven" Surely you'd cook a GF pizza before all the Gluten pizzas? Then you would only have to clean the oven once?To add insult to injury, the staff starting clearing the table as i was not even half way through eating my pizza.I was offered a pre-poured vodka & lemonade as an apology (i gave it to a colleague, as i'd already had one and was driving, this would have put me over the limit)Money off bill (£1.50 (GF base price) and 70p for a mixer (Lemonade) off a £10.50 pizza and whatever the drink cost, was an insult.I will not be recommending this facility, nor will i be using is again.

Little gem of a restaurant. Very friendly staff and lovely food. All pizzas have a local theme. My favourite is the Bigod which has locally made brie, with ham and onion marmalade. Atmosphere is great, makes you feel like you're in Italy

Very good pizza. You need to wait a little bit if it's busy and most of the time it is. You not gonna regret it though!

You know really this place has a very good reputation and generally speaking, I'm not surprised. Their pizza's are very tasty and taste and look home made. I usually order the starter of anti pasta or anti pasti. It consists of olives, a little bit of mozzarella, some sliced Italian meats and a few fingers of bread . But every time the bread is just dough through the middle. I have asked them on a few occasions if they could bake it a little longer in the oven. The lovely waitress always says she'll have a word with the chef, but to no avail. I keep getting stomach ache after I've had a couple of fingers but I can't eat all of them. A good reputation does not mean you have to ignore customers comments. Complacency could creeping in!!They do a cracking Tiramisu though!

This is another independent restaurant that does good pizza - unlike some of the chains which I could mention. There aren't many tables in the restaurant and we had to sit in the window seat but it had a friendly atmosphere and the service was also good. The kitchen is at a higher level and some customers are able to have a view of what goes on beyond - in particular the pizza base spinning. The pizza's were hot and very tasty. The unusual thing is that they are named after towns, villages and produce from the local area. Some of the toppings are local too which is impressive. I had a "North Sea" which in Italian would have been a marinara - I would certainly go back again.
