Lovely spot for a late snack lunch. So nice to find somewhere with unique character. The apple and blackberry sponge took me right back to being in the kitchen with my Mum ❤️. Also had a great chat with a couple who were out cycling.

Fortunate to live nearby this excellent establishment where I have enjoyed many delicious meals and superb service. In lockdown they adapted to making weekend pre prepared meals for you to enjoy at home. Our family has enjoyed them nearly every week. Nothing has disappointed and there has been a lovely variety with vegetarian option for our teenage daughter. Cannot thank you enough for this fantastic weekly treat.

I’ve now ordered cakes and scones from Struther Farmhouse twice during the lockdown period, although it would have been more often if I’d discovered they were doing this earlier! I saw their advert on a local Facebook page and they are only a ten to fifteen minute drive away from me. They release the menu for the weekend on a Tuesday and you can call or text to pre-order for pick up. They offer meals and other items as well as the cakes and scones. You can drop in for cakes but have to pre-order meals. So far we’ve had plain and fruit scones, strawberry tarts, mars bar crispy cake, caramel and Malteser tarts and I also bought two Father’s Day gift bags with jam and shortbread this weekend. The scones are HUGE, but they are not dry and crumbly like some can be, they are still very soft the next day. All the cakes have been delicious, so fresh and really good size, you definitely get value for money. The set up at the farmhouse is really organised, they serve from a window and have a table set up showing other items that can be purchased, e.g. toilet rolls, strawberries, nectarines, jam, eggs, juice, etc. Ruth and her Mum are really friendly and it’s lovely that they have set this up during lockdown. They are clearly popular as both times I’ve been there has been a number of other customers at the same time as me. They take both cash and card payments, just take your own bag along to take your purchases away. I’ve never been here for a meal but I’ll definitely try it once some state of normality returns and they are able to open again.

Visited this restaurant for the first time to celebrate a birthday and were really surprised. The food was excellent and the service very quick and efficient. Nice relaxed atmosphere and being able to take your own beverage was splendid as you can take what you like with no corkage charge. The price for the set menu was very fair and the dessert table was laden with a wide choice of home cooked desserts which were all delicious (tried almost all). Excellent value for money.

I had my 50th family dinner here, they accommodated 8 of us in the room at the front of the house as requested. It was beautifully set up and the staff were so accommodating. Some of our party were delayed due to travelling along distance through commuting time and others were delayed as all trains were cancelled from Glasgow. The staff offered to hold off service until everyone arrived. This was a significant time delay and they totally accommodated this in such a warm and helpful manner. Food was gorgeous and beautifully presented and the atmosphere was a relaxed and happy one. Thank you to all the staff for making my night so wonderful

Took my mum here for their Afternoon Tea, which was offered as part of the Dunlop Gala Week events. The dining room was homely and spotlessly clean. We had an assortment of very fresh and well-filled sandwiches, sausage rolls, scones with cream-and-homemade jam, shortbread and tablet, a large cafetière of coffee, plus an assortment of cakes, which we had to take away in a ‘doggy bag’! £12.50 per head, which we thought was great value. Staff were attentive and friendly. We loved it!

Invited into the lounge on arrival... 1940’s vintage look... handed menu which also appeared from this era. Was brought for a birthday dinner as the great reviews implied it would be a unique evening! Unique it was. As I was taken back into a time warp! After a 15minute hysterical giggling session with my mum and husband we were invited through the residential care home, oh I mean BB to the restaurant... er, front room. We were greeted with a room, with mismatched pictures, I suspect purchased at a bargain price at a car boot sale and curtains that I was scared to touch in case they dissolved in my hands. No music for atmosphere. After a good 15mjns to soak up the atmosphere our starters arrived Starters: Spinach & feta tart - Delish Pate - Delish Avocado salad - nice enough but lacked flavour and saad dressing And indeed more time to let our food truly rest... Soup Lentil - beautiful smoked aroma of burnt lentils Thank goodness we had time to let our food digest before the mains....I mean so much time that we nearly tucked into the neighbours food Mains Beef with veg/potatoes Salmon with pesto crust You get a bowl of veg and potatoes to share. We enjoyed staring at these for 5 minutes before our mains were presented. We got tucked in and the cauliflower cheese melted in our mouth... I mean dissolved. Indeed I remembered this was for the resident I presume who were living in the other part of the house. They have no teeth and require melt in your mouth veg! Pudding Buffet - an array of about 5 puddings. Home made profiteroles we’re Delish, although pouring cream would have been a nice addition. Tea / coffee When the milk/cream arrived out tea and coffee were at suitable room temperate I must say, the waitresses were lovely. When the lights went of for my birthday cake I was convinced they had forgotten to pay the electricity but I was indeed pleased that there was an indoor toilet facility. I could go on, but I think you get the jist A real shame as with a revamp and facelift there is real potential as the chef has made all the food from scratch and fresh. Certainly an experience not to be forgotten!!

I have been going to Struthers in Dunlop for years. I was there again on Friday night for wee Christmas dinner with two of my friends. Booked for 7.30 (booking advisable) and were shown into the front room, shown to a seat and given the menus to look over. It's always a set menu with a good choice of about 6 starters, 8 or so mains and dessert......... The Christmas menu is £29, the ordinary one is a couple of pounds cheaper. Not on offer at Christmas though. On the christmas menu there is the addition of a soup course and coffee with petit fours. So 5 courses in all, go hungry. I had the goats cheese tartlet, Turkey broth, then Turkey and all the trimmings. There are potatoes and veg served separately and they are huge. One of my friend has the roast sirloin and said it was beautiful. They both had the carrot & artichoke soup and said it was lovely too. Everything is home made. Desserts are selected form the dessert table. Toffee tart, fresh fruit meringue, trifle, Christmas pudding, chocolate mousse, fruit salad and a couple more I can't remember. All home made and you just help yourself as often as you want! It's also BYOB as its not licensed. They provided glasses and no corkage fee! It's a bit like going to your grannies for dinner, it's a house run as as B&B too so everything is in house rooms. It's clean and quirky and the food is fabulous. As far as I know it's just cash or cheque.

Struther Farm if you are not aware of this hidden gem,you have been missing out,on one of the best eateries around. It's set in the small quiet village of Dunlop, which is not far from Barrhead/Paisley/Glasgow.The house itself has an old world charm about it .It reminds one of visiting of one's Grannie's home in bygone days. It had a fabulous old rocking horse in in the hallway,a big hit with small children. I have been there on a number of different occasions, one of which was a small Wedding Reception, the most recent of which was an intimate Retirement celebration. If you are a "Foodee" like my family you will love it!!! We had dinner, traditional fresh fare, with a great choice for all. Starter,Soup,Main & Sweet together with petit fours and coffee to top it off, the cost of which is £26.00 per person. Portion sizes are "huge".....served with freshly cooked vegitables..........mmmnnnn.My family rave about this place..... especially about the Sweets/Puddings...........it's an OMG moment for them.........they even discussed/checked whether we all could go there for Christimas Dinner.Unfortunately this service is not yet available. It does not have a drinks Licence,"Bring Your Own",which is fab Wine,Beer and canned soft drinks and juice was the order of our day. There is plenty of parking in the Grounds, and if like me you are a smoker, one can go outside take in the atmostphere whilst enjoying a "wee ciggie",,,,,,,,,,bliss. We always book in advance then start our countdown.I would suggest that Struther Farmhouse is a real " Hidden Gem",the food, staff, setting I could go on and on is grand/fab/brill .....We'll be back shortly.!!!!!

Having visited this beautiful traditional farmhouse many times, i decided to share this little Treasure trove with you all. This Farmhouse has two farmhouse Restaurants which is open Tuesday -Saturday, from 6.30pm onwards . closed sunday and Monday. It serves gorgouse home made, , traditional fresh seasonal produce. It does not have a drinks Licence so its a bring your own bottle, with no corkage charges. The restaurants have been running for more than 35 years, one seats 25 ppl, and the other 40 ppl. Dinner costs £26. for a spectacular 4 course dinner, with coffee and petit fours afterwards. Please see below Sept menu taken from their website. The portion sizes are very big to say the least, as well as mouth wattering tasty. The desert table is Heaven for sweet Lovers like myself, there is usually at least 6 different deserts, which you just go and help yourself as often as you like, all home made, same as everything else. They also do Bed & Breakfast. This Farmhouse is very popular, and we would recommend booking in advance, as its always busy. Its set in the Ayrshire countryside, and has ample parking outside the farmhouse. The staff are all lovely and once you arrive, you are shown in to a lovely living room to look at the menus and decide what you are going for, before being taken through to one of the two restaurants. The owner/cook always comes and speaks to her guests before they all leave. This place is a treat to come to all year thru, but its especially beautiful at the Festive season. Go give it a try, we can promise it will be a first of many visits there on after.Fresh Fruit Platter with SorbetChicken Liver Pate with OatcakesDuck and Plum SaladMushroom TartsSpinach,Pineapple and Chorizo SalsaBaked Pears and Feta Cheese******Cream of Tomato SoupBeetroot Broth******Cod,Broad Beans and Herb ButterSmoked Haddock with Cheese SauceChicken with Black Pudding,Bacon and Mustard SauceBaked Ham with Spiced OrangesRoast Sirloin of BeefBraised Venison*****Sweets from the table*****Coffee and Petit Fours £26.00 inc of VAT
