Great burgers and the Crab fries and Frickles are to die for!

Stripped now serves pizzas as well as burgers, so we went along to try them. We were not disappointed. After a starter of pitta bread and humous, we both had the pepperoni pizza with their melon salad as a shared side. We both loved the pizzas, and unfortunately too full up to have the brownies for dessert - hopefully next time. Another great meal, thank you Stripped.

Loved this place. We went as a family, having booked ahead by text message (it was only open Weds to Sat). Very popular and the food is very good. Our 9 year old is coeliac and they had a gluten free bun (and burgers are gluten free). Great atmosphere and great food. Would definitely recommend but suggest you book.

Best burger on IOW - make sure you book for Friday and Saturday nights (not much seating inside - also it's on the high street not at the church like the listing says). Service was fab, simple menu but what they do they do really, really well.

Really good burgers and chips! Very reasonably priced. Excellent attentive staff. Jo was our waitress and she was so friendly and accommodating. Will definitely be back.

The idea behind Stripped is that it is just that - stripped down. From the décor (which is great) to the food and drinks (good wine or better wine, beers and lagers etc). The menu is burgers - but a good selection of burgers, with great sides. We like the hummus with pitta bread as a starter and we have the salad with whichever burger we choose - along with their signature fusion fries. This last time we tried both the two Special burgers that were on that day. As we could not decide who will have which they kindly cut the burgers in half and served half each! A treat not to be missed!

3 of us went for dinner at stripped the night before my wedding. From the moment we walked in the service was impeccable, we all had different beers from the wide selection available whilst deciding what to order to eat. After a long debate we all decided to go for the special bbq smash burger (I think that’s what it was called) with 2x crab mayo fries and 1x fusion fries on the sides. The burger was without a doubt the best burger I’ve ever had (I’ve had many a burger over the years) it was so good, cooked to perfection. The fries were also amazing. 100% best burger you’ll find on the island! Thanks to all the staff for a brilliant experience…..we will be back! Unfortunately I was enjoying the food so much I forgot to take any pictures.

Absolutely top notch burgers, defo bringing my kids next time. Let me tell you it’s worth the visit just for the home made mayo with crab and fries..! I can’t write anything more about the burgers without it DRIVING ME CRAZY! The best burger I have ever had - 10/10! Meat and plant based were both as yummy.

We were visited for a burger and we're not disappointed. I am lucky enough to have traveled in the US a lot and this was one of the best burgers I have ever had! Simple menu and locally sourced ingredients. I had the smash burger and my wife had the plant burger and we shared the fusion fries and dill pickles and I would recommend you try all. We will be coming back and have already recommended family members visit.

Not all burgers are equal. These are top notch - the meat or the plant burgers. The salad is nice either as a starter or to compliments the burger and chips. The fusion chips are my favourite out of the chips on offer. And the chocolate brownies are perfect to finish off with.

We ate at Stripped when it was a restaurant and ordered from the burger van during the carnival. Amazing burgers, great chips & friendly service.

Amazing burger and amazing Pizza.

After a long day exploring Ventnor and surrounding area we wanted something warm to eat but not a full on sit down restaurant meal, we stopped by to see what was on offer and we ordered a smash burger each which we thoroughly enjoyed. As others have said do not be put off by the van, the burgers are pure gourmet quality.

As others have intimated - forget all your preconceptions about buying burgers from a van. These burgers are terrific and the fusion fries are just something else, not like any other chips I've tasted. Can book online and specify your pick-up time in advance, you can also state any requirements you have for your burgers ie if you don't want any of the ingredients. Strongly recommended.

As with other reviews, I stumbled upon this place when unable to get a seat in a restaurant. Glad I couldn't as the burgers and fries were simply amazing. I eventually over the next few days got into some of the fully booked restaurants only to be disappointed. Now with only two nights left on the Isle of Wight I'm spending one of them at the van in the church yard with a burger as it's probably the best meal I've had in my two weeks here. Burgers are amazing and the loaded fries are a stroke of culinary genius, try it.

Closed during Covid, but when they were doing the burger truck in Ventnor (as they were in December), I scheduled my weekend around it. The cheeseburgers are amazing. They also offered a few interesting sides; I'm partial to the fried pickles, especially because sour pickles seem really hard to find in the UK (most pickles here are sweet). Hope they come back soon!

Yes the decor is a bit bonkers but loved the quirky specials menu - Oktoberfest themed at the mo. Lots of intriguing dishes (specially if you’re a sausage/sauerkraut fan - tho veggie/vegan also catered for) but plumped for the breaded chicken burger with fig mustard...

I've been following Stripped in Instagram and wanted to try them out when visiting the island. However the menu is quite limited and very pricey (although the starters were very big portions). My beef katsu burger was tasty but too thick and the crust was very greasy. I was a bit disappointed and although the food was okay, I probably wouldn't go again because their pricing is too high.

We had a tempura burger, some aubergine and a pepperoni pizza. While the burger and the aubergine were lovely, pizza, on the other hand, was rather unpleasant. Interiors are nice and the staff is friendly and helpful.

We popped in here the other evening on our way back from another event hoping to get a table and we were lucky enough to be showing to a shared table but I think that seems to be the set-up in the restaurant in general...

Excellent! If you THINK you've had the best burger ever but you haven't visited this place ... You're mistaken! This is a lot more excitng than just pizza / burgers. And lovely people giving great service. Oh, and good range of beers and wine.

I have been to Stripped quite a few times now as it easily my favorite place to eat on the entire Island. The last time I went (last week) I had without doubt the best burger I have ever had- the Katsu Vegetarian Patty Burger....

We came here after a harrowing experience at another eatery and the energy level of the family was low. But, it was an amazing experience. They had really good drinks. They had board games which we could play. Their pear, creme fraiche, walnut pesto pizza was out of this world. They absolutely turned our evening around!

Beyond amazing from start to finish, not only was the service superb but the food delivered what the fantastic atmosphere gave us a glimpse into. We all sampled burgers off of their simplistic but perfect menu and also a Special ‘Beef Katsu Burger’. The dishes took a reasonable time to arrive and once they did, it was worth the wait. The burgers looked as if they were photoshopped and tasted equally as terrific. The fusion fries on the side were also a sweet blend of smooth and spicy which tantalised our tastebuds to the max.

Stumbled over this place by accident walking through Ventnor and have to say is easily the best burgers on the Isle of Wight!

This was recommended to us by a local as good nosh. For a relatively unassuming looking place from the outside it came up with the goods and the food was delish. My friend had a Katsu vege burger on recommendation and I had a pizza and both were really good. In addition the service was outstanding. Super friendly, super helpful and would definitely return and recommend. Nothing not to like!

On the face of it ‘Stripped’ is a burger and pizza restaurant, however, venture inside and you soon realise that the menu is imaginative, the food is of high quality and the flavour combinations will amaze you.

As a local, I know both Cantina and Stripped very well, and sometimes I might add, I dine at both in the same day. I know most of the staff very well, some as friends including the owner. This closeness, however was born through the food which is consistently high in quality, rich in imagination and deeply satisfying in its taste.

Good and interesting flavours for the beef katsu burger. fries were solid but not mind blowing. bottom of the burger bun was incredibly soggy though. was told it was a steamed bun ?

Have been here once before with a few friends and wasn't a fan of their limited choices and just settled for the Beef Chilli fries which I thought was alright.

Absolute gem! Definitely stop by if you're in town! Special food.

Found this lovely restaurant on our son 14th Birthday vising the island very nice pizzas all enjoyed , one little thing please get bigger signage for your restaurant we drove past 3 times trying to find it and nearly gave up .

We had the veggie burger, the beef pizza and pizza & chips for the kids. Very impressed with the staff, beer selection and the kids had loads of room to colour in while waiting. Sometimes you don't need a lot on the menu if the food is good. My wife loved the beef pizza somuch (which looks & smells like a beef burger), we when back for beef pizza's 2 nights later. Great food, quickish dinner.

Visited here twice so far in the last month or so. Pizza first time and burger this last time. I thought the pizza was pretty good, and as far as the island is concerned probably as good as it gets here! The burger I had was very nice, particularly with the crab fries. Also enjoyed the deep fried pickles. Good selection of beer and great for kids with some board games available. The best thing is the service which is faultless. Would recommend and would definitely go back.

We loved the Cantina when we visited Ventnor 2 years ago, this is a limited menu, mainly burgers and pizza, what we love is there are little variations that make the experience different. Always feel the owners want to make it less mundane and they have succeeded.

We visited on a Friday night after searching the area for basic but good food. We had pizzas, burger and fries.

Not very noticeable premises from outside...blink & you've missed it.

We stopped for a family meal whilst staying in Ventnor, very welcoming staff. Lovely pizza, next visit we will try the burgers, they offer plant based burgers which definitely are of interest. Highly recommend.

Great decor, not many food choices but that’s a good thing. Lovely juicy burgers, like the Japanese theme. We ordered the crab fries & felt very disappointed, for £6 we expected actual crab on the fries not just a suspicion in a mary rose sauce, I really think this should be made clearer on the menu. Fried pickles are great as was the garlic bread.

Got served quickly but not intrusively-has a Bohemian beer-v crisp and satisfying-chilli popcorn free that burned the bollocks off me-nice touch-out comes the fusion fries that are among the best I’ve tried-no grease-just great tasting crsipiness-I’d like to know how thats done with a Katsu sauce that the fries don’t need-they are that good-got me a hand turned (you can see it) wild mushroom and tallego pizza that tastes like a slice of heaven in your mouth.

We ate here recently and the menu was very poor. The choice of pizza was very limited. Drinks were served in tumblers and the service was just ok. The pizza was just average and not worth the price charged. The decor is not to our liking but some may like to eat in a restaurant that looks like it is in the process of being remodeled so this is just our personal preference. We also found the picnic bench style seating was uncomfortable.

I really enjoyed this place. Took the kids there - great for them. Pizzas are proper pizzas. The garlic bread is great, as were the fries. Nice people, working hard to delivery quality food. Once the kids were in bed, I went back for a takeaway pizza. Would recommend to anyone on hols in Ventnor.

My husband and I ate here this evening with our four year old. Great pizzas and ‘plant’ burger and we LOVED the crab fries. Fab music, lovely service. A great example of a stripped back menu done really well. Thanks for a lovely evening :-)

While I know that Stripped does vegan pizzas, we came here just for a coffee and the dessert menu looked so good I decided to try some. Did not disappoint, with a watermelon, pineapple and raspberry salad in a pineapple bowl and topped with lemon sorbet. Amazing experience, will come back for the pizza soon.

Great looking place in an old bank. Friendly, attentive staff. Menu was not overwhelming. Started with deep friend gherkins & hot sauce- hot, sweet, sour, crunchy, spicy! Yum! Burgers were gorgeous, fries were lush. Everyone happy 😊

I was so looking forward to showing my friends how wonderful the new "Cantina" is, but it wasn't wonderful at all! Why did you change what you were doing before guys? Pizzas and burgers are all very well, but not a match for the superb food that gave you such a good reputation at Cantina. The food was fine, but the service was pretty poor. We will have to find a new favourite restaurant for the evenings.

Great place to eat with fabulous food atmosphere and very friendly efficient staff

As a large group we visited Saturday after Beer and Buses - I found the food exceptional, drinks were of good quality (quality Cider and Gin rather than usual high street brands) and I found the service to be hospitable. I'd certainly return again.

After a day out at beer and buses we ended the night here for some food. The two ladies on shift were very helpful and accommodating to the group, as well as being very patient. For a group of 12 people the wait was as to be expected. When the food arrived it was amazing and very tasty! Would definitely go to Stripped again.

Give this place a miss if you value good hospitality and customer service. There are so many other places in ventnor that deserve valued custom! From the minute we walked in the service provided by our waitress Dita fell short of everything you would expect of even the most basic restaurants like McDonalds.

Plant burger was very interesting, miso roman soup was excellent, not many places manage to make it well! Unique Coke substitute brand was also better than the original. Service was very friendly, definitely one of the best places in Ventnor!

I had the cheeseburger burger and crab fries. Absolutely fantastic in my view. The sauce on the burger was perfect. The fries were crispy, fluffy and if you love crab then the crab fries are for you; if not, the regular fries are still some of the best around. Great vibe and love the open kitchen. Highly recommended and can’t wait to go back.

Went last night for dinner and really enjoyed our experience. Food was truly tasty, I had the burger which was one of the best burgers I’ve had. And my partner and son had pizzas which again were tasty and everything got eaten. Loved the feel of the place and will be recommending it to everyone. Service was very good and we even got shown our sons pizza being made from scratch. 5*

Didn't expect to find such a nice burger bar in Ventnor. I though these are normally found in locations with a younger demographic. Anyway, staff were polite, friendly and helpful, they explained the menu. The burger was nice, although coleslaw in the burger maybe doesn't work that well. I'd prefer it outside anyway. All good though.

Based in the old HSBC bank the bare minimum has been done to turn it into a restaurant. When we went as it opened in the late afternoon there was one server and one cook. Pizza’s were made to order and cooked perfectly in their pizza oven. The base was crisp and slightly charred in places exactly as it should be. The topping was generous and full of flavour. The burger came cooked medium with the best burger sauce we’ve tasted. Uneaten pizza was boxed and taken home. Our server couldn’t do enough for us and even gave us the burger sauce recipe. Walking out I noticed a big green egg which they will cook steaks on for a special at some point. Fantastic place and adds to Ventnor’s reputation as a very foodie town. Loved it.

We arrived in Ventnor on a Bank Holiday Monday afternoon looking for somewhere to eat dinner - a vegan, a veggie and a dog! We walked past it initially but with few alternatives and a takeaway seeming our only option, we went back for a second look. How glad we were!

Loved this place! Relaxed and friendly... And busy! Menu is limited, but what they do they do really well. My pizza had quite possibly the lightest dough I've ever had. Absolutely delicious. They were also doing a roaring trade in takeaway.

Absoluyley excellent. High quality finger licking fast food. Children loved watching the chefs at work, place couldn’t have been more accommodating for a big group. Fried dill peppers in hot sauce so good and burger was excellent. Basic menu - that’s the concept - but should have children’s menu somewhere, we walked past a couple of times and thought it wouldn’t be suitable. We will be back. On every visit to the island. Superb.

We almost walked past this restaurant in an old bank. The service was lovely, friendly and engaging. The plant and beef burgers were delicious. Even better red wine was excellent and the bill reasonable. We are going back most definitely.
