Excellent coffee, great cakes, brilliant service and very dog friendly in a way that doesn't alienate anon dog lovers. Highly recommended.

Good veggie, vegan and gluten free options, as well as delicious home baked cakes. We had a selection of sandwiches and paninis. The portion sizes were good and we all enjoyed our lunches.

We received a wonderful welcome to this cafe, it was very busy (always a good sign) with great service. The breakfast bap (with gluten free option) with sausage and haggis was lovely.

We stopped at Streetlights for lunch after seeing some great reviews and we weren't disappointed. We were welcomed in with our dog, there was plenty of choice on the menu so we went with paninis. The haggis panini was delicious and filling, and whilst we were eating our lunch a lovely lady who works there brought over a treat for our dog. It was lovely a clean and busy which is always a good sign. We will happily return.

Looking for lunch? Drop into Street Lights. You will not be disappointed. Lovely, friendly staff. Seated quickly, menu order taken within a few minutes. I plumped for prawn Marie Rose sandwich and oh my goodness so many prawns and a full with a full plate of salad. A delicious cappuccino to finish off. This place is a hidden gem. The best chicken and rice soup…ever! My friend and I visited Castle Douglas today, and decided to have our lunch in Streetlights. The staff were lovely, and so friendly, and the service was first class. I asked the lady who served us, what the ‘secret’ ingredient was in the soup. She checked with the chef, and apparently there isn’t one! I can honestly say…it was amazing 😊

Lovely dog friendly cafe, great menu and lovely baking to choose from. We ordered chicken and rice soup and toasties. All lovely and tasty. Coffees good too and provide option of oatmilk etc for differing dietry requirements. Very friendly and accomodating staff. was busy but staff were able to organise tables for people waiting. Good value for money and will return when next in the area.

This beautiful place has the best of everything. The food is so nice, coffee's great and above all the best welcome for us and our two golden retrievers. It's always a bit worrying taking dogs into a new place, especially when one of them is a puppy but the kind ladies here couldn't have been more friendly. Thank you from all of us, we won't hesitate to visit again.

Nice, clean, cosy cafe. Good coffee and a great selection of cakes. Treats for the dog! I do like it when the double espresso ordered comes with a small biscuit and a bottle of cold tap water.

We stopped here for some needed hot drinks and cake. Ladies were very welcoming, especially to our guide dog puppy. Served at the table. We ordered a selection of cakes from the menu and everything was delicious. Highly recommend a visit.

Perfect for a quick lunch. On a bitterly cold lunchtime we were looking for somewhere for a coffee that was dog friendly, Wide menu and we chose Chicken broth and spicy butternut squash. Both were served with a lovely crusty roll and croutons and were delicious. This is one of my favourite cafe to relax in! The staff are more like friends, the food is great especially the home made cakes! Glad they are open again and they are Dog friendly which is a big plus in Castle Douglas and open Sundays too!

Visited here for the first time tues 3rd march.was around 3pm and we only wanted hot drinks and cake.The lady who served us was very welcoming and friendly and even the other customers made a fuss of our dogs. Went to Streetlights today for the first time with a group of friends and had one of the best pastrami, Monterey Jack, gherkin snd mustard sarnies I have ever had. Came beautifully dressed with salad, tortilla chips with home made chilli jam, olives and pea shots. Other dishes ordered included jerk chicken and mango chutney sandwich and two baked spuds, one coronation chicken and one ham, cheese and pineapple. The cakes looked divine but I had no room to squeeze one in. Mid range in price but well worth it.

Went here with family for some lunch with limited other options open in Castle Douglas that are dog friendly. Very busy before so we walked up the high street and came back and got a table. This is a great little restaurant and obviously well liked by locals and visitors alike. We visited a few times during our stay in Castle D and was never disappointed with the quality of food or the friendliness of the staff.

We had to go back to this lovely cafe a second time as the meals were homemade, good portions and value for money. We were too full to have cake after our meals but couldn’t resist them so on both occasions we bought cakes to take home in goodie bags Bonus is its dog friendly 2!

Popped in here with my family and two dogs, it was too warm for a pub lunch so we decided on something a bit lighter. Good menu with plenty of choice for veggies/ vegans including puds. They even made me a dairy free raspberry milkshake (just needed a bit of ice in it!). Dogs were provided with treats and a water bowl. Friendly service, recommend.

Often find gluten free choice and taste don't always come hand in hand but this place join the two with good result. Dog friendly too which seems most of Scotland is - water bowl offered and a treat. Visited this little gem on a wet Tuesday in April 2019. Very busy but we managed to get a table beside a lovely couple from Yorkshire and their adorable little dog Jess.

This is a friendly cafe with lovely food, fab cakes and delish coffee. It is fully family friendly - even the dog is welcome. A lovely place to escape to with friends.

We looked at a few places in Castle Douglas before we chose Street Lights for lunch. We only wanted a light lunch so decided to have a sandwich and cake between us and we were glad we did. The prawn and avocado sandwich was packed with both and it came with a side salad, coleslaw and some tortilla chips with chilli sauce. We could not have eaten one each. It left us with some space to have a delicious cake. My hot chocolate was one of the best I have tasted in a long time and was piping hot (the way I like it). If we had been heading home we would have taken some with us.

My wife and I stopped here at the start of January for coffee and a scone and we loved it especially as the cafe is dog friendly. We visited the cafe again today and took our border collie Milo with us. The staff were excellent and even spoilt him with a treat. The food again was wonderful and we even bought some scones to go!! Seven of us visited this afternoon for tea/coffee & cake. The staff were very friendly & efficient and the choice of cakes was amazing - between us we sampled 6 different ones and they were all fab - fresh, moist and generous portions. The lady even provided dog treats for our 2 dogs who were made to feel very welcome. Would highly recommend and will definitely be back.
