Stone Pier Cafe in Weymouth and Portland

We travelled considerably, but the Crab Sandwiches and Whitebait were the best we have ever eaten. The owners take a great pride in running this unique waterside cabin.

Lovely location for a spot of lunch or a snack during nice weather with views over Weymouth Bay. Had the Dorset Apple cake with ice cream. Would have preferred cream however it was still lovely and would definitely return.

Worth walking around the gushing harbour, down Cove Road past the Sailing Club to this cafe. We enjoyed fresh crab sandwiches in good granary bread at £11.95 each. They had fresh grilled mackerel on offer which I almost tried and when I saw them I wish I had. Friendly service and outdoor seating.

We weren’t going here but got stuck in traffic. Whilst queuing I googled where we were heading, reviews not great! However this cafe popped up with fantastic reviews! It also bypassed the traffic jam. Super busy when we arrived but we got a table overlooking the harbour/sea. Just perfect! How they achieve good food at a fast pace in a small space is remarkable. Highly recommend!

Lovely little cafe, which amazing food and so much choice! Sit by the end of the harbour at the foot of Nothe Fort and enjoy a coffee & cake, or even a delicious meal and pint of Ale!

Set under the Nothe Fort overlooking the harbour entrance this café is one of our "go to" places when walking in that area. The coffee and cakes are super and there is always something interesting happening in the the harbour making it an excellent place to idle away a half hour or so.

Excellent food, well presented and in a lovely setting with harbour side tables. Very friendly staff and menu was good value. Recommend the fresh crab.

I have been here a few times. There is a lot of choice considering the size of the kitchen. The people working there are very efficient and friendly. The cakes are excellent and so are the toasted sandwiches. The photos show plates, but I have only ever been given my food in a “cardboard box”. I don’t know if this is to save on washing-up or because of Covid.

We all would highly recommend this little secret cafe for a quieter cup of coffee hand made cakes cream tea was amazing, clean dog friendly atmosphere was great 😊

Great location on a walk under Fort next to harbour stopped for a drink. Bit of a queue but not too bad. Did not eat but food looked great.

A regular stop on my daily dog walk. Great coffee, excellent fresh food, amazing Victoria sponge cake. Falafel is the best. Sausage bacon egg sandwiches are the bomb. Mostly local produce. Music on a Friday night with chilli & Paella. Great location to watch the sun go down. Friendly staff. Clean toilet.

It’s hidden away a bit and a walk right round the harbour to the far end but we’ll worth it. Lovely location looking over the bay and back into the harbour (as long as the weather is good!) for a small place that looks like a cabin it must be then tardis inside, so much choice of food and drinks, from breakfast sandwiches to seafood specialities.

You find this cafe almost by chance on your walk to the end of the harbour. It has a fantastic selection on their freshly cooked menu. Particularly recommend the White Bait Friendly staff and plenty of seating to watch the world go by.

Had a lovely fish& chip lunch here. Food and service was great but what makes it special was the location. Sitting by the water watching the boats passing back and forth was magical. They serve a wide variety of food and drink to suit all tastes. Highly recommended on a dry day (no covered seating).

We came across this cafe by accident having parked at the top of the hill by the fort. Plenty of seating and food and drink choices. I can confirm that their crab sandwiches are lovely, as was the coffee

We had decided to stop by this little outside diner early evening for a quick drink, this then turned into a whole evening!We were pleasantly surprised that a live music duo (Surf Birds) started to play at the front, it’s at that point we decided to stay and order the paella and veg bean and rice combo.Both absolutely tasty and hats off to the friendly staff! We’ve eaten out a lot at many different locations but when the customer service is good it really makes for a great experience.The only downside is the weather!

Messages on Facebook asking if a meal was suitable for someone with a nut allergy . Received a reply stating that they would check and get back to us . No further reply received so visited the cafe to ask . Employee went to check with manager who was very dismissive. First stated he didn’t know, then when asked what ingredients were used , decided that it contained nut traces . He didn’t come to the window, just shouted across . No allergy folder was offered . Needless to say , we didn’t stay and won’t be visiting again.

Lovely location right by the water, relaxed, nice side of Weymouth. We ate very nice grilled mackerel. The tables are on a grass slope, but wheelchair accessible, and toilet is accessible for a small wheelchair. Slight ramp or step at the entrance - can't remember, but fine for a manual chair with a helper.

A wonderful cafe, with an extensive menu.Service was quick and prices reasonable. It was great to see so many of the items being made fresh to order.The scenery is fabulous also - a bunch of outdoor picnic benches overlooking the harbour / sea with the Nothe Fort behind. Please do be aware that there is no indoor seating, so do take into account the weather before visiting.

Visited with the family and enjoyed a variety of dishes all of which were fantastic quality.How on earth this dynamic team get such a variety of high quality food out at such a pace is beyond me!We will be back for sure!Fantastic job stone pier cafe!

Perfect spot for a little coffee or something to eat & dog friendly, we had the cod and chips with a hot drink, sat right on the waters edge! Service was 10/10 and the food matched that.

This little cafe is always a treat to visit. Hidden away from the hustle and bustle of the main harbour, along the harbour path near the Stone Pier. Fast service and not too long a wait for food considering the small kitchen. Lovely relaxing scenery watching the boats go in and out of the harbour mouth. Food is fantastic, I’ve been a few times and have enjoyed it every time. Prices are reasonable and on the menu is a range of different snacks, meals, hot and cold drinks and locally sourced fish and seafood. Food containers are environmentally friendly. Staff are polite and helpful and there is a toilet. Eating is outside so if it’s chilly bring a coat! All in all 5*.

This little cafe might be small but it's perfect. Really lovely staff, excellent view and perfect with children if they love crabbing.The atmosphere and food are always spot on, milkshakes that are sooooo nice and excellent food .Take a little stroll here and you won't be disappointed.

On a sunny day there is no better place in Weymouth for a light lunch . From fresh local sea food , tasty toasties or breakfast butties. There is always something that appeals to the fussy eaters in my family... the location is splendid for watching the boats in and out of the harbour, the service is so friendly and efficient. Today we had mackerel, cajun chicken, brie and bacon toastie and a breakfast sarnie. The freshly squeezed orange juice and the milkshakes are v. Good . Love it

Stone pier cafe ... thank goodness they survived these awful times and thank goodness the summer has been kind . The situation is ideal , the food fabulous , this year we have also thoroughly enjoyed the paella Fridays . Weymouth is blessed with fabulous cafes and Stone pier is consistent in being one of the best .If you have never tried the grilled mackerel here , accompanied by a large cold glass of white , you haven’t really lived ! In these horrid times it is also a very safe place to go and eat . Thank you Stone Pier for providing nervous customers with such lovely food and ambiance ..

Called in after a dog walk...I had an Abbotsbury Hot Dog and my wife a Toasted brie sandwich. You queue up and place your order take your drinks and then they call your number when your food is ready.... about 10 minutes later....Food excellent....a little more "service with a smile" would be good.....

Absolutely fantastic cafe to visit, walked down with my wife and 4 kids. Service was very fast Aswell as high quality food, would definitely recommend for any family looking for an afternoon in the sun.

Nice local products served fresh and hot. It's not luxurious but the outside benches give a view of the harbour in a quiet corner below The Nothe Fort

I regularly walk out to the harbour pier and on the way back stop for a coffee. It is just nice to sit at the harbour edge and watch the comings and goings of Weymouth harbour. The coffee is excellent and the cake is pretty good too! Highly recommended from a frequent user.

My elderly Dad lives on Nothe Parade, so we visit quite often! He has a penchant for a latte and a slice of apple cake with cream. He always enjoys his food here!Today we all had the most delicious sausage sandwiches with our morning coffee, served by friendly and polite staff. Highly recommended, even on a sunny but blustery day!

We just went for a stroll through Weymouth and then we went towards the stone pier The Nothe Parade. Now you CANNOT go to The Stone Pier WITHOUT stopping off for something to eat, and drink, at The Stone Pier Cafe.we had Fresh Portland Crab Sandwiches.My Wife had a Cup of tea and my son, and I, had Milk Shakes. The service was very good,the food, and drinks, were very nice in fact it WAS ALL very nice and tasty. I strongly recommend that whilst in Weymouth, either as a visitor or, indeed, if you live here that you pay a visit to The Stone Pier Cafe. You WILL NOT be disapointed.

I have enjoyed lunch at the Stone Pier Cafe several times, great location on a sunny day watching the boats go by.On this occasion I was told there would be a 30 minute wait for food, thats fine except it took nearly an hour.Shame really but I'm sure I will be back and maybe next time I won't have to wait so long.

This cafe has been our go to place when on holiday in the area for a little while now. The owner is friendly and keen to offer the freshest well cooked fish. The crab sandwiches were generously filled and the grilled mackerel had only come out of the sea that morningEnjoy your lunch watching the boats come and go while enjoy a crisp dry white wineWhat more could you ask for on a sunny day?

Have been to the cafe a number of times this place is our go to place when we are on our holidays. Locals and holiday markers use the cafe. The milkshake is a must milk and ice cream. The local bacon and sausage are great. We have never had a bad visit. Already count the days until next year.

Walk past here most days when out with our dog.Decided to go for lunch with my daughter in law.We had a lovely meal,cheese and caramelised onion toastie for me,and a ham omelette for her,which looked delicious. It was great,fresh and good quality produce. Quite busy but we found a table and didn’t have to wait too long for our meal.What a lovely place to sit and eat. Staff were friendly and polite.We will definitely be back.

We were just going for a walk and came across the stone pier cafe by accident, so we decided to stop off and have a little hot drink in the morning, the location is absolutely beautiful and we could have sat there all day, other we don't have any food it looks absolutely lovely and if I was in Weymouth again it is definitely somewhere I would go, they had vegetarian and vegan options also, I would say it's definitely a must definitely worth the walk.

This lovely little eatery is situated at the harbour entrance on the far side from the main centre of Weymouth and is approached via the main lifting bridge as if heading to Nothe gardens. Keen on the level and follow the path for the harbour entrance. You pass lots of other attractive looking places but when you reach stone Pier and can sit at tables on the grassy bank overlooking the sea you know it is worthwhile.

Visited for drinks on Sunday and was blown away by this amazing cafe. Such lovely friendly and welcoming owners. The cafe is situated looking over the harbour and once you sit you will not want to leave. You can enjoy a cheeky chilled vino with a plate of delicious crab linguine or a bowl of mussels with garlic and white wine (check specials board) whilst soaking up the view across the harbour. They serve breakfast and lunch together with cream tea and teas and coffee. Absolutely love this place and cannot wait to return. Big high 5.

This cafe is very unique in its location right on the edge of the harbour. The food is excellent and very good value. They made children’s sized portions for our young kids. There are some children’s games. The harbour is a steep I fenced drop so the only thing is you have to keep a close eye on the kids! Friendly staff who are very accommodating. Family run. We will return next month when we are back in weymouth. Best burger I’ve ever had!

Stopped off this weekend to share a round of crab sarnies with my girlfriend , wow, fantastic, fresh , good service, all washed down with a bottle of cider , what a smashing place, with the best view in town to boot .

On a hot sunny afternoon to escape the crowds in the harbour we headed to the Stone Pier Cafe.

On a fine day there are few better places to sit and enjoy the view across Weymouth harbour, away from the hustle and bustle of the town and promenade. It is also protected from the prevailing Southwest wind.
