Had Afternoon Tea for nine people as part of a birthday celebration. Excellent food and good service in a pleasant location out in the countryside. Would definitely receommend.

Stayed here one night 2 adults, 2 children in a family room. The room was absolutely perfect, felt like the room had been recently refurbished and was a good size. We had dinner and breakfast here and the food was very good. A short hop from Windsor centre and Ascot/Lapland.

We had an excellent meal to celebrate a big birthday with all the family. The food was excellent and enjoyed by everyone. It's also worth saying that with adults and children it's always a concern that there'll be nothing for the younger children but the kids menu was perfect. Breakfast the next day was excellent too with a hot and cold buffet and cooked breakfasts to order. Thoroughly recommended.

We celebrated my Mums 90th at Stirrups and we had a wonderful time. The food and service were excellent. They set us up in the a nice alcove in the restaurant. Staff were so attentive and helpful. It was a great choice for our gathering. Thank you.

Called in for a light lunch and we were totally surprised by the quality and quantity of the lunch we ate. We will certainly keep this venue in mind for a return visit soon :-)

What an amazing place. Staff are very attentive, the food was delicious especially when dining in one of their pods. A lovely touch was leaving a colouring pack for my children it was certainly a help while enjoying a glass of vino. Slight downside was that the plug in our bath didn't work so could not take a soak. And whilst checking out, I wasn't asked how I found my stay. However this would not stop me making another booking. WELL DONE to ALL staff, very professional, polite and even a sense of humour which is certainly refreshing. Keep up the extremely good work.

Super hotel not far from Windsor. Great gardens and staff super friendly. Lovely room overlooking the garden. Food was amazing and served swiftly. Bar was busy and great atmosphere. Within easy reach of Ascot, Marlow and Windsor this hotel is ideal with plenty of parking.

Please dont waste your time. I am a local resident and every time I go I am met with rude staff, poor service, bad food and flat drinks. Most frustrating is there inconsistent messaging around their outside sitting area - you call and they say you can’t book and then you turn up and they say you needed to book or they must priortise hotel guests “incase” they book while tables stand empty across fhe place. Save yourself time and energy and go to the Winning Post where all the locals know it is the best food, service and atmosphere, with the friendliest staff around!

Ordered a tuna sandwich with chips…over £10!!! A small handful of chips, I child size roll with very little tuna inside with a little bit of lettuce and tomato. The roll was soggy!

My niece's wedding. Wonderful day. Very helpful staff for the very young and older and disabled guests. Some of us stayed overnight and were very well cared for. Lovely breakfast.

Me and my wife went today for Sunday lunch, what a fantastic venue we sat in the garden, the gardens are beautiful, the staff are polite and respectful, we had the Scallops to start and then the beef. The beef was nice and tender the but Yorkshires were hard, the veg was very over cooked as if it were in a bain Marie for sometime, also it was underneath the meat and potatoes, it was soggy. I would prefer the veg to be in separate bowls and cooked to order.

As a family, we have been using Stirrups for business and personal events for over 20 years. I cannot recommend them enough - their hospitality is perfect in every way.

We were 4 adults plus a toddler for a birthday lunch last Saturday. Food was delicious - everyone enjoyed their choices. The staff were very good with our young grandson (2 years old). It was a very pleasurable and relaxed lunch. We would recommend and will be returning.

Well I am glad I didn't look at the other reviews. We booked a pod for a huge birthday which was a huge success. The pods were beautifully lit and it was magical since we were the only ones in them ( perhaps because people were put off - don't be) There were two heaters in the pod , both of which worked and we turned them off it was so hot. We didn't need the blankets they provided either. It was steak night ( thursday) and the steaks were beautifully cooked and great value including a bottle of wine. The calamari was rated the best ever and everyone really enjoyed their meals. The staff were all great, very friendly and helpful. Jack our waiter was fantastic and helped make it a special day.

We tried the drive through pizza today and it was delicious. Nicely packed, delicious pizzas and very well priced too. Very easy to preorder over the phone and pick up your pizza at your allocated time. Definetely recommend and will use again.

We were lucky enough to have booked a pod on the last night before lock down and we had such a fun evening. The garden pods that seat 6 very comfortably were warm and cosy with our own speaker for personal playlists and blankets for each guest ( not that we needed them ) The pod gives a lovely view of the gorgeous Christmas lights and we just pressed a button when we wanted anything. Great food as always and a lovely Christmassy atmosphere. We are looking forward to returning as soon as we are allowed.

My mother in law was celebrating her 85th birthday and die to the current situation we could only have 6 of us.I tried for a pod but very popular so we had afternoon tea in the restaurant. When I booked was asked for any allergies. My son has a nut allergy so his plate was made up separately. The service was very good very friendly and the food was excellent. Had a lovely birthday family dinner in one of their new ‘Pods’. Food & service both very good. We had a couple of sharing platters for starters, 4 mains of steak which was cooked to perfection, one had fish & chips was was huge and another guest had chicken & bacon ciabatta with chips. The Pods are lovely and cosy with lots of lovely lanterns along the pathway, each has their own remote controlled heater and aircon units, each chair has a little sheepskin rug and a blanket (not that it was required) as you can adjust heating as required. Finally a Bluetooth speaker so you get to play your own music. We all had a great evening, great food & service, a lovely way to feel safe during these strange times. Will definitely return.

We managed to book a table last minute which I was glad about. The welcome was friendly.The waitress gave us good recommendations.We had the chicken pate for starter and that was much nicer than expected. Would definitely like to have it again.The lamb rump was delicious. Never had anything like it before.My husband wasn’t too impressed with the chocolate mouse as he found it quite bitter.Overall it was a very good experience.We did see the new outdoor pods which looks really cool.Definitely will try and book that next time.

We dropped into Stirrups on the off-chance for an early lunch on Saturday and weren't disappointed. The staff were friendly and the food was excellent with a very varied and tasty sounding menu we were spoiled for choice. We sat outside in the beautiful garden and it felt very safe - each table has a bell for when service is required and we were really well looked after!Highly recommended - we will definitely visit again - there are still lots of things we still want to try on the menu!!

We called in here for a Coffee & Snack, made to feel welcome and sat outside in the sunshine. Service was quick and my grandson enjoyed exploring the gardens, will certainly return for an evening meal soon.

Went twice for dinner in the past week.. Beautiful gardens & great service & food.Went for the steak night on Thursday, which is a bargain. Also went on the Saturday & had food off the standard menu.This place is the most organized in terms of social distancing I've been. Each table has a buzzer, & staff are promptly out to serve you.. Staff are all well trained and adhere to distancing, standing well back. Drinks served on trays & put at end of table. No where better on a sunny day/afternoon.The inside looks well sorted too.

Afternoon tea served outside was delicious, set amongst beautifully tended gardens the selection of cakes, sandwiches and scones were incredibly tasty. Service was excellent, all PPE being worn and prompt to attend to any needs we had. My birthday was made really special by a welcome glass of bubbly and a surprise decorated brownie plate. The staff really went the extra mile to make our experience truly special, I will be back.

I had my retirement dinner at the restaurant and stayed overnight. The meal was excellent, the staff were friendly and efficient, check in and check out was quick and easy, my room was comfortable and quiet, I had a good night's sleep, breakfast was great. I could not fault the hotel

Arrived early but no problem and after leaving cases in room, had a perfect Ciabatta before going out for the afternoon. In the evening the dinner was very enjoyable and after a good night sleep breakfast lived up to expectations.

The venue is very pleasant with gardens behind the hotel.We went there for Sunday lunch and both of us had the roast lamb. Was good but at £16.50 seemed on the high side. Roast beef was £19.50 which compared to similar restaurants in the area seemed overpriced. Service was friendly and okay.

Stayed whilst visiting Wentworth for the Golf(15 mins).Lovely quiet situation.Great location for sights around the area(handy for Windsor/Lego Land etc).Plenty of parking on site. The waiters were really informative about the food and wine and did not rush us. The food was really top class Gastro Pub style. The steak was perfectly cooked and one of the best we have had. The wine was reasonably priced for the quality and food portiond ample.

Booked a table here on a Sunday. Food was amazing - only down side was the large group of over 12 people sat next to us. Meaning the service was understandably very slow. Ended up waiting almost an hour for a mains to come. But staff were apologetic for the wait. And it didn’t both us too much. Worth it for the food.

Booked a table for 2 on steak night, for our anniversary.

5 adults had Sunday Lunch. Starters were good. Beef was delicious. Our preference would have been to have it a little rarer but that did not detract from our enjoyment of it. Husband would have preferred his chicken off the bone and he only thought the meal was average. Someone who had shared their meat with another (half each) said the beef was much nicer than the lamb. Potatoes were not crispy but that is usually the case when you eat out. One of us was dairy free and the veg were served on our dinner plates - the cauliflower had cheese sauce on it. There was no problem with them plating up a new meal without the cauli. We all would have liked more vegetables! Of the 2 who had a dessert, the cheesecake was nice but more like a chocolate torte and the sticky toffee pudding was dry with not enough toffee sauce. I would have told the restaurant but my son did not want to make a fuss! All in all, an acceptable meal with some faults and the beef being the highlight.

We booked for Easter Sunday lunch, the restaurant was busy, we were shown to a table straight away. Unfortunately it was near a very large group. We could not hear ourselves speak so asked for another table. We moved nearer the front of the room and felt very comfortable.

In many respects The Stirrups deserves at least a 4 or 5 rating, however this review is focussed on two recent visits where I chose the following vegetarian options - Nasi Goreng and Nut/Mushroom Roast. Frankly the Vegetarian options, in terms of size of meal, were poor in comparison to those meals being served to my companions who chose meals which were meat-based. Even eating relatively slowly - conscious of the meal size - I finished both meals in half the time of other diners. Admittedly the waitress said she had noted this when serving the meals and was going to pass comments to the chef and let’s hope for an overhaul to put value as well as friendliness on the list of options attractive to vegetarians! The meals were enjoyable enough in fairness but compare the Chicken Kiev meal offered by the Stirrups with any of the Vegetarian options and the contrast soon becomes readily apparent. Hopefully the Management will attend to this and make the vegetarian options open for both vegetarian and non-vegetarians to consider as viable options when dining out.

Visited here on a quiet Sunday afternoon for afternoon tea. Its a lovely hotel bar/restaurant with a peaceful atmosphere and friendly staff. The afternoon tea won't blow you away but it was pleasant enough, good selection of teas, sandwiches, scones, the cakes weren't the greatest but for the price couldn't complain

Three friends and I went to Stirrups yesterday for afternoon tea. What a treat! A cosy oldy worldy setting and very attentive staff who kept us topped up with tea of our choosing, and even an additional plate of sandwiches because they were so yummy, A good selection of cakes and pastries were included and - as we were unable to finish everything - we were given boxes to take away the leftovers. All for £17.95 a head. Just lovely.

We have been here many times for food (we even got married here)the Xmas menu was fabulous so was the food, not one of our party had a bad meal , excellent service and atmosphere will definitely recommend this restaurant also a very comfortable bar area . 5 star stirrups keep it up

I could not fault this place for anything. Basically a works Christmas lunch for about 90 people and they just did it right.

Visited Stirrups for an afternoon tea with my girlfriend and another couple. My girlfriend has an egg allergy which is often a point of anxiety & tough when it comes to afternoon tea. I spoke to the team the day before and the staff at Stirrups were not only caring and responsive, they prepared a separate tray of afternoon tea with egg/mayo free sandwiches as well as finding alternative sweet treats.

Have been to Stirrups before but my daughter booked a surprise afternoon Tea for 3 people. It was a lovely sunny afternoon and the French doors were open where our tea was served it was very pleasant. Sandwiches were tasty and freshly cut, great homemade scones with cream and a lovely selection of cakes to finish. It was a really pleasant experience.

Sunday roast portion size reduction recently now leaves you wanting more. The food is good, just not enough of it. Please get the sizes back to how they used to, it’s been cut far too much.

Newish to the area we passed this yesterday on the way to shopping, so called in for an early evening meal. As we hadn’t booked to be fair we were lucky to get into the restaurant side. The only problem was with this would be the table no-one would ever call to book, having worked in the catering industry for years, the position of the table lends itself perfectly to have a dumb waiter there. I personally felt uncomfortable. Food was ok but portions on the small side, hubby’s potatoe could have done with a few more mins in the oven, but mine was fine as slightly smaller. Best part of the visit in my opinion you have very friendly staff. Hope you look after them. Price expected given the area.

My mother and father in law came from London to visit us and we decided to visit the Stirrups. We were very pleasantly surprised the staff were very attentive, friendly and couldn’t do enough for us (even though they were busy generally and had an event on) Our starters were all beautifully presented and the taste to match (the duck bonbons especially) and as for roasts “delicious” beautifully cooked and full of flavour. We will certainly be going back.

We went here yesterday after visiting Legoland and on the way to our hotel. We happened to drive past and like the look of this upmarket country pub. I had the tandoori chicken curry which was amazing and the rest of the family’s food was also great. Lovely setting and seating areas which included a fireplace to warm up after being in the rain for most of the day! Highly recommend a visit if you’re passing and looking for somewhere to eat.

There are four factors we value the most in a restaurant: Food, Service, Ambience & Cleanliness. This restaurant scores top in all four! The fish n chips were absolutely brilliant, not too oily, very crispy nicely done. The nasi goreng rice was a lovely vegetarian dish. The ambience was lovely inside out. The place is a traditional pub, full of character, very well maintained. Cleanliness is at a different level altogether. The jewel in the crown is the service. Everyone is warm, welcoming and friendly. More important they make you feel 'valued'.
