Stopped in for a quick lunch before going to Heathrow. Lunch was delicious. The Pasta Carbonara was flavorful and the Giant Prawns appetizer tasty. Definitely a repeat.

I went there with a group of 22 people. We pre-ordered the food, and I was extremely impressed with the quality and freshness of the food. True Portuguese flavours, in particular the rice. Excellent and personalised service. A place to go back.

Absolutely fantastic, every bite is rich with flavour, it’s a truly authentic Portuguese experience (Sagres included 😜) I recommend everyone tries this place!!! Will definitely be returning.

We came across this by chance while walking the London Loop.Ignore the printed menu and go for the specials-cataplana, octopus, bacalhau etc. We had a beautifully cooked sea bass and chicken wings plus salads and new potatoes. We had a carafe of Instinto white (from Alentejo where the family owners come from) . All for £43 inc service. Off the beaten track but worth a visit if you are in the area

I requested the chicken to be put into a separate container. Also called the restaurant to confirm, which they did. When the order arrived there was pork chops mixed in with the chicken. I called the restaurant the owners became quite defensive and argumentative towards me, saying that I was in the wrong. This is a cover up as I clearly called the restaurant to confirm. I have Islamic friends that round and we had to order from somewhere else as this isn’t acceptable. This is a family owned business which we try to support given the climate we are all in. But next time I’d rather order from KFC, as I know they adhere to dietary requirements and respect a diverse range of customers. Very disappointed please do not order from this place. Their whole chicken is a baby poussin! Be warned!

Charming family place with excellent service and good food. Try the grilled pig's ears if you are brave ! More conventional food was delicious. Outside tables available and easy parking. Loved it.

Disaster only one person waiting on tables and serving drinks to lots of people outside waited 10mins before we got a menu another 10mins before for drinks to arrive another 15mins for a dish of olives and then I hr for the main meal we had to get up and go and find our own condiments Because no one was taking the drinks order from people outside everyone was coming in and standing by the counter which was just opposite our table felt sorry for the waiter who was trying to do his best Shame because when the food eventually arrived it was very nice Won't be going back

I have been using this restaurant for a while but it gets worst every time,the chicken is full of bones,hardly any bite to it,it feels like eating a bird wings,too mean,why they do this as a chicken is cheap to buy and they charge you a lot for bones.please avoid if you can these people needs to learn a lesson,customer for long time but they don't respect you.horrible service.

Wow..better than nandos . We have just had a whole chicken and 6 wings hot with the side of spicy rice (which was very very tasty) and salad. Definitely will be returning. Thank u Stella's we had a very enjoyable meal

Food is excellent, but over two hours waiting for my meal I think is a bit too too much. Behind us was a couple that waited more than we do for two francesinhas. Seriously???? Something must be wrong with you guys, 2h30 minutos for this dish??? This is something normal not something that just happened once, every time I go there is the same issue. Came across this restaurant whilst looking for something different to the normal offerings on Ubereats and I am so very happy I found it! The food arrived hot and absolutely delicious! We took a chance and ordered extra food to try and struggled to decide on what to fill ourselves up with as it was all so great! I was particularly impressed with the vegan burger as it was the best and tasty vegan burger I have ever had! And my son was as impressed with the meat varieties...and he is not easily pleased! Yes, the delivery is longer than other restaurants but I think it is totally worth it for the fresh and high quality provided! Thank you!

Was in the area for a meeting and took a chance on this small Portuguese restaurant/cafe for something to eat.... Best decision of the day! Fantastic and extremely tasty lunch. Superb. Since as the moment we took a seat, a haze smoke smelling fry oil invaded the place. It was hard to see through that fog while our eyes became irritated. The exhaust system was not enough to disperse the smoke, and the worst, the front door was closed through. Beyond ruining our dinner, our clothes were stinking fat. Even after asking to the acountable person for solving the issue, no action was taken, as if that was normal, or worst, as if nothing was happening. Despite a delicious menu, the environment is not a nice place, unless you should prefer to take a sit outside.

I paid 40£ and the food was horrible, ribs were burned, cod fish soaked in olive oil, bolo do caco with garlic butter was horrible smelling bad and soaked in something like oil. Really bad experience, not gonna order here anymore.

It’s gone down in quality and portion sizes a whole chicken breast meal is in fact half a breast cut in half half the normal size and whole chicken pirir again half what you used to get this is the 3rd time it’s happened Shane we won’t be frequent again was a plus in the area even the long wait has almost doubled for your food

Had a chicken and rice dish takeaway and I have to say it was delicious. The amount you get is loads for a £5 well worth it, Will defo go back.

Very disappointed with the service, very nice food but always someone is missing, first time was rice second I didn't even get my order, got money back though, third yesterday salad was missing, too many mistakes when I complained the male chef was rude with me twice, not buying there again, many Portuguese restaurant to choose from.

The food this place makes is unbelievable!!! I was not particularly familiar with Portuguese cuisine before ordering from Stella's, and the flavours have absolutely blown my mind. I've just had THE best jumbo prawns I've ever had in my life (and I've eaten A LOT of seafood in my life). The food tastes fresh, and is exploding with flavours. Cannot recommend this place enough!

We’ve ordered from this restaurant a few times over the past 10 months or so, ordering via just eat or uber eats. I can only remember one instance where the food arrived on time. Otherwise, it’s always late by at least 30 minutes, even though we can see on the tracker that the delivery driver is at the restaurant quite early on. There were a couple of times where the driver even cancelled because it was taking too long. Such a shame as the food is really great but really not worth the hassle every single time.

Wow, what a find. After browsing UberEats, in search of a restaurant that serves chicken dishes I took a chance and ordered from Stellas as they were local. The food arrived on time, and with generous portion sizes. The meat was so fresh and tender. Its authentic Portuguese and for a moment forgot it was a cold London evening in lockdown. Will certainly be back for more.

Just became a massive fan - food was incredible. Perfectly made reminded me of Madeira. I will defo be recomending this to anyone who loves portugues food

I will be back to Order more food! This place is family run business. I love 100 percent home made food! I can tell as it taste really different and really nice! Only downside is take quite long for the food to be really but the price is very fair! So won’t complain, will tell my friends and family to try and support this business.

Update 10 Oct 2020. I provided a really positive review a few months ago. I was delighted with the food. I am knocking off a couple of stars now. Recently, the food has been inconsistent. Tonight the food that arrived was not as described with a couple of items missing. When I rang to complain, the man I spoke to was actually quite defensive. While he did offer money off the next order (thanks for the effort) it was the general attitude. I want to be supportive to local businesses, particularly at this time, but as customers we do have a right to voice an opinion. I hope you can regain the ascendancy and offer honest-to-goodness food as before. I hope you'll accept this as constructive criticism. _________________________________________ Honestly. It is not just about supporting local businesses, but Stella's around the corner is an innocuous little gem. I dont know if someone really is called Stella and she cooks, but I really really like her food. I suspect she enjoys cooking. I have the garlic prawns with crusty bread, or the steak with all the other bits. Hearty meals. Recently discovered the house burger. A teeny bit pricey, but I dont mind because whoever is making the food is doing it with love. Honestly, just try it. Saved us during lockdown. Message to Stella, please just keep doing the same. Don't try and get too fancy schmancy! Lovely food. Congrats!

We came to this restaurant last week. The food is amazing! We came today with my son that is Autistic. He is very quite when he's out in public. It wasn't busy and a really drunk man kept asking my son questions. We didn't mind afew questions but this man didn't shut up. We asked him politely to stop as our son has autism. He took a while to move of our table with prompting. Then this man kept staring at us and my son in a horrible way. The man came back to our table and refused to move trying to talk to my autistic son. I had to get the person working there to move this man of our table again. The man came back to our table again! The guy working there seemed nice and said, He's alright'. This drunk guy wasn't. He was really nasty to me and my partner. We ended up taking our food and going. £65 we spent. Not really sure why we had to be the ones to go. This man should have been told to go. The food was amazing. My son is still crying and not coping at all. The work guy apologised which was nice but the drunk guy should have been told to leave. It was like he was obsessed with my son. My son loves going to restaurants. This has had a big impact on him in the future going to any restaurants at all.

This place is a little gem! Lovely food, reasonably priced and on a nice day, sitting outside with a cold glass of wine with gentle music coming from inside, gives you a sense of being on holiday! To be 100% honest, the service has been slow but 'Eat Out to Help Out' has caused the place to be very busy, but in any case, how nice is it to not be rushed out of a place so they can get more bums on seats? Makes a nice change. The only thing I would say to Stella's is just be careful in what order people are served as after our visit today, it appeared some people who arrived after us were served their food before us. 😊

It's the best restaurant I have ever been too and the 1/2 chicken with hot peri peri sauce is the best definitely coming again and the family loved it too

Go & see a young, bold, committed & daring team throw everything they have at good food - but spare plenty of time. Service is slow because this bustling little local hub has been a rare lockdown success story. In a tiny west london backwater, with everything stacked against them, this little dive bar is hurling up fabulous meat and fish at a less-than-steady pace. If you want fast food - quick, predictable, plastic-wrapped & McFried - then there are plenty of nearby spots. But - if you have the time- please treat yourself to two hours to while away here. Watch the tiny stuff work utterly flat out to serve sirloin-like octopus, rich gnocchi and gnarly pork belly and ears.. The bill - even without the new government discounts - is laughably small. If you're willing to spend a long and lazy night on the bizarre border between whitton, hounslow and hanworth... then please visit stellas. But do not be the sort of spoil sport who expects a pre-cooked, reheated, unloved shovel's worth of food This place is really lovely.

We’ve just ordered a Saturday night takeaway from Stellas through Ubereats. I have to say, what a terrible experience! I really wanted to like it but ended up apologising to my girlfriend for choosing this place. When our food arrived it was missing one of the main dishes. So I phoned Stellas to request a refund. They said it got forgotten because the delivery driver was hassling them! Weird thing to tell a customer. They said I’d have to go through Ubereats but then made the mistake of telling me it would “take ages to get our money back”, which was another really peculiar thing to say. So I insisted they sort it out themselves. I offered my details so they could transfer the money, nope, can’t do that, no explanation why either. Then they promised a voucher for “next time”, but since I really wasn’t sure there’d be a next time I insisted on a refund for the missing dish. The only way they said I could get it would be to order a can of Coke and they’d send our refund plus a bit extra to cover the cost of the coke and delivery. At least that was what I thought was agreed! When it turned up, not only was the original dish there (we’d already said we didn’t want it, it was too late) but the can of Coke I’d just ordered for £5.59 (with delivery) wasn’t anywhere to be seen. Absolute comedy. Then I noticed they’d only put in £10 which didn’t even cover the cost of the dish let alone the coke and extra delivery costs, that wasn’t quite as funny. Also; they were completely unaware of the extra £2 “small delivery” fee that Ubereats impose. They really should know about that. I phoned again and they were apologetic saying it was all one big misunderstanding but didn’t offer to do anything else. Not nearly good enough I’m afraid. I’m not usually one to complain, check my other Tripadvisor reviews, but I’ve lived in Twickenham for over 10 years and tried many cracking local restaurants and this was comfortably the worst takeaway I’ve had in all that time. it was also the most expensive. Food and service were both shocking and we ended up feeling robbed and more than a bit annoyed. Never again! Iain, London

We just ordered a takeaway which was supposed to be a whole chicken meal with salad and rice- firstly the salad was one piece of cucumber but what was worse was the chicken- it was a “whole” chicken cut into many pieces which was mainly bone, the chicken that was on the bone was So so hard and dry it was completely inedible- it could not even be cut with a knife , I’m worried how I will feel tomrorow from the one mouthful of meat I received. Also it should have been 50 mins max- took 1 hour and 45 mins to arrive. We are now ordering another takeaway as you wouldn’t feed this food to a dog- disgusting - for the extra £5 you could order an amazing nandos but in these hard times we wanted to support the local smaller restaurants- I advise you don’t bother

Had a lovely takeaway from here.... it was our first time, but certainly not our last!We ordered chicken (very tasty) and mixed grill (also lovely) but for me, the stars of the show were the beautiful baby sardines (lovely and fresh!) and the chicken livers served with a lovely fresh roll. These 'stars' were starters but were generous portions.We look forward to actually coming to the restaurant.What a lovely local gem!

After three months of home cooked food and one Dominoes pizza we were craving some real food. My partner and I are real fans of portuguese wine and food and have talked about trying it but had few expectations of it match some of the waterside cafes we have experienced in Portugal. I was quietly skeptical that perhaps lockdown may also impact on the quality. I was wrong. No idea how they are sourcing their seafood but the sardines tasted fresh and just off a blistering hot grill. Clams in wine were brill and the Peri Peri chicken has real depth of flavour. Lots of quality olive oil, fresh herbs etc all made this feel like we were in the Med on the hottest evening of the year. Will defo try it again!

Fantastic, Authentic Portuguese food from a local family run independent business. We have eaten a lot of Portuguese cuisine over the years, moreso in Portugal, and we love fine dining. This is right up there with gorgeous cuisine. Definitely was a stunning treat as a delivery takeaway during COVID 19 Lockdown. We will be ordering more for sure. Pictures show grilled Octopus, Grilled Sardines, Clams in Garlic Butter sauce and Piri Piri Chicken. Highly recommend this local establishment in Whitton

Great food, great customer service, great overall experience. Following the (most recent) review below, I do not believe one word that person has written. Firstly, Of course the restaurant is going to be empty, we are in a Global Pandemic! Secondly, I’ve picked up food from that “dodgy-looking” side door and had a sneaky peak through to the kitchen, looked exceptionally clean to me and they were super busy! And thirdly, the staff has always complied to my family’s needs and allergies. They have never been rude in the slightest. I find it horrible to see such disregard of a small local family run restaurant's reputation by cowards leaving low star reviews with no substance at all to back it up, disgusting!

Always empty and all their take away foods are served out a dodgy-looking side door. It never looks clean. Staff are also rude and food half OK.

The service and food is amazing. This is definitely a hidden gem. As everything is cooked from scratch you have to wait for your food but it is worth it. There is something for everyone and the portions are very generous. They also do take away which I tend to get after having had a meal there as it’s a 45 minute drive away. Also, they are not afraid to go the extra mile as we found out for my son’s birthday. Decided to go to Stella’s at the last minute (it’s his favourite restaurant), so I booked the table in the morning and noted that it was his birthday. Didn’t expect much just a free can of drink for the birthday boy. When we got there, they had decorated the table, got him a card and made a fuss over him. Absolutely made his day.Great food & great service. What more can you ask for!

The food at Stellas is amazing but I am disappointed with the service offered. Not only does it take hours for the food to get ready - more than 70-90 minutes and has even taken more than a couple of hours once but we have noticed several times that the staff or owners put the phone off the hook so we have had to drive all the way to order the food to notice that the phone has been kept off hook and then they take ages to prepare the food. The food being so tasty makes us go back but we are loosing interest now and am hoping they improve the service in response to this review.

If you are looking to eat an authentic Portuguese dish, head straight down to Stella in twickenham, you will end up biting your finger. Fish, meat and chicken all freshly cooked. Family run business very nice people, son look after front of house and mother does the fantastic dish in the kitchen. Lovely fresh cooked food with lovely staff. Been a few times and always just as good. No potatoes left so a whole meal was taken off the receipt! Big portions so one starter is plenty for two.
