We were back staying nearby and the garden centre was recommended to us. If I say we visited three times in three days I'm sure you'll get the picture.

Been meaning to visit for a while (we know the lovely Simon who has bought the business), so on a sunny day when I needed some plants for pots in our garden we finally drove over to St Ishmael. The drive through the lanes from Haverfordwest is a reminder of how gorgeous the Pembrokeshire countryside is - it is not all about the coast. We walked around the actual garden centre first (I used to visit in the 80s when it was a very well regarded plant nursery) and chose a few plants. The stock is varied and fantastic quality. They all are suited to the Pembrokeshire soils/wind, and really healthy indoor plants, as well as a big range of all the other things you need for gardening. We then had a coffee and cake in the cafe. We sat in the outside seating, but there is also a cosy indoor area. Will definitely return for lunch soon, as the menu looked tasty. I can see why it is so popular. Book a table if you want Sunday lunch. A fantastic place to visit.

The Castle Inn

10/05/2019: When visiting the area on holiday we called here for Sunday lunch. Both my wife and I had the roast turkey and it was wonderful, my wife said that it was the best roast dinner she has ever had. The turkey was melt in your mouth tender and there was lots of it, together with 5 vegetables, and roast and mashed potatoes. We would have loved a sweet but hadn't got the room The service was good and the staff pleasant and helpful. There is a small car park at the rear. It is recommended to book during the peak season as it gets very busy.
04/06/2019: We visited on the recommendation of fellow guests at our B and B. The restaurant are was very relaxing and the service prompt.

The Mooring

05/06/2019: Lovely place to visit for lunch, the food is made to order and we had a lovely fish pie which was huge and packed with lovely fish, white, salmon and prawns topped with creamy mash and cheese. Whilst there doesn't appear to be any signs saying dogs are welcome, they are. Will definitely visit again.
30/01/2019: The Mooring is well positioned, and the ambience was very pleasant. I ordered a pot of tea (Welsh Brew) expecting tea leaves-not!-t'was a tea bag BUT the best tasting tea, ever!! Very friendly staff, and a speedy service. There had only been 2 other customers when we opened the door, but then they all came in! Obviously very popular- and a credit to Tenby!.
