Fantastic Food, Great Prices, and Superb Service. Have not eaten in this place for a while maybe 3 years but wow ill be back again and again

We have been dining at this restaurant for many months and have yet to have a bad meal.The quality of the food is fantastic,at very reasonable prices,The staff are very friendly and helpful,you will not be disappointed.

First time here and certainly won't be our last.Great service,great food and great value.Oh and one last thing great Guinness on tap.Give this place a try you won't be disappointed.

Called in today for lunch. Ordered cajun chicken fajita, absolutely fantastic, great flavour, good portions, will definitely return. Staff very friendly an absolute must for a visit

Similar restaurant to many in Carrickfergus, too much food on the plate and not really pleasing to the eye. You can get this type of food anywhere in Carrickfergus, disappointed as all the reviews suggest something better. The Mayur Restaurant is still the best in the Carrick area.

Went for a meal yesterday afternoon, we were very impressed. My wife and I had The Chicken Stack for mains which was very good. our son Had the noodle dish which was also exceptional Good selection of desserts which were also excellent I had the jam and coconut cake with custard, Highly recommended. Would put some of the other restaurants in the Carrickfergus and Whitehead area to shame

Service from the owner was a disgrace he seems to be more interested in strangers visiting than looking after his regulars and bread and butter customers who keep. Need to sort their priorities out if they wanna stay in business!!

Did try phoneing to book a table but could not get answer so left message on whats app and got swift reply from Steven it was a Wednesday evening when we visited and when we arrived the place was busy with locals but Steven spotted us as not local came over and greeted us and showed us to the table,they have a special menu for Wednesday so can"t comment on any other days offerings,it is a fairly limited menu but adequate choice,we had the fish and chips for main and it was very fresh and tasty,all the staff were friendly and helpful and Steven made us most welcome,The restaurant does overlook the cricket ground which is a nice outlook but as it was dark when we went we missed the view,highly recommended.

Great friendly place for a tasty meal . My friend and I had a different ‘ special ‘ each and thoroughly enjoyed the food . Many thanks to the kind and helpful staff .

A random peek on trip adviser brought this to our attention and we arrived at 3pm. A lovely welcome from staff and drinks order promptly placed.. The starter of prawn salad was set off perfectly by the homemade wheaten bread. Followed by main courses consisting of a duo of escalope of chicken and melt in the mouth ribs and gammon steak pineapple. The chunky 'real' chips just made our day. Again staff were mingling to make sure all customers were content. During fhis a cricket team were also catered for with no drop in service to restaurant customers. Finally the sticky toffee pudding, caramel sauce and honeycomb ice-cream finished this most satisfying meal. P.s. pudding home made too. Last comment must be mmmmmmm. Make this a stop if you are in the area, you will not be disappointed.

Food is excellent, always find that sports clubs have the best food

a friend suggested visiting this small restaurant, and am i glad i listened. myself and partner drove down from belfast to try last saturday night. place was very busy and we hadnt booked but staff were very friendly and offered us a seat in the bar, we were still able to place an order off the main menu. food was delicious and could not fault one bit! started with the wings and cheesy bread both delicious, i had the carbonara for main and partner had the surf and turf. steak was cooked to perfection. no room for dessert unfortunately but a good range of options. top it off live music started around 8pm so we were able to stay and enjoy that too. next time i will definetly book and get a table in the restaurant to enjoy the view of the cricket pitch. beautiful place to eat with helpful friendly staff

This restaurant is in the Cricket Club. Steven and staff very welcoming and food was amazing. My 10year old wanted to lick the plate the kids Curry was so good. It’s so good we have booked to return for our Sunday meal. Best meal we have had in Carrickfergus ❤️❤️

Attended early on a Sunday at 5:30pm thought it would be quiet'ish at that time but it was buzzing. It is a good idea to book. Really fancied a sunday roast dinner type of meal. There was a choice of turkey and ham, a chicken type one , beef briskett and lamb. They were already sold out of the lamb and were also out of yorkshire puds (sad face). I got the beef briskett and partner had the chicken. They were both delicious. Friendly staff and didn't have to wait too long for food to come out. 2 roast dinners, a diet coke and a small bottle of cider was about £30 in total. Didnt have time to sample the desserts as was going to a concert but ive heard theyre delicious

Great food and great service. Highly recommended. We went on a Thursday night, wasn’t too busy but I reckon weekends would be a different matter. Throughly enjoyed it.

I am gluten free and have had the best meal in a long time. They got me gluten free bread to give me a bread and dip starter, sea bass gluten free for main and gluten free crackers and cheese for dessert. It was brilliant to enjoy a meal like everyone else and the presentation was brilliant. I will be back and would recommend them. The other food was good too. I would just call ahead and let them know and they will go out of their way to suit you.

Food was excellent, happened to go on a Wednesday night where all mains are 7 pounds so it wasn't a expensive night . Pavalova to die for will definitely be back

Visited this restaurant as number 1 on Tripadvisor!!!! how?? One of the party got fish and chips and it was so over cooked they couldn't break the batter. The other person ordered chicken and champ which was cold. Both were returned. The chicken was brought back to the table immediately and advised the chicken was fine but the waitress then stated the champ had been put out on the plate 10 minutes prior to serving and the reason for being cold. She was unable to eat this and asked could she order something else. She was advised NO as the chef was finishing and wanted to go home. We had to go ahead and eat our dinner however my friend went home hungry....... Some celebration!

Been here a few times now for a nice Sunday dinner. I live locally and the staff are always helpful and friendly. On occasion we've had the whole family there for dinner, 14 of us and nothing is ever too much trouble. I've had the Turkey and Ham, the Roast Beef, the roast chicken and the salmon and it's all been lovely. Really good price too for both food and drink. Relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff. Highly recommended.

First eats at this restaurant. Fantastic food from beginning to end! Was at 4star Roe Park Coach restaurant week before and food was awful!! This food was so superior to that. Cooked to perfection and gravy delicious! Turkey and ham melting in mouth. Kids burger and chicken goujons also fabulous.

Fabulous food, whether it's chicken in a basket, steak night or Sunday roast, the Squareview has it all ... plus fabulous staff and a lovely atmosphe, a joy to visit.

Went 4pm Saturday afternoon.We had starters of garlic bread and one chicken wings really amazing starters.For mains we had steak with garlic potatoes and a pepper sauce to die for.Desert of pavlova and one toffee pudding again both beautiful.And Saturday you get desert and a coffee for £5.All this along with 5 pints came to only £61.super nice food,amazing staff so friendly and nice location really would recommend visiting this little gem 100 percent in every way

A very genuine establishment. The jalapeño o burger was delicious, steaks great, chicken stack super and good old chicken dippers tremendous value.

We would never have found this place without Trip Advisor because it is on the edge of town. The food was excellent and extremely good value. As visitors we were made to feel very welcome particularly by the manager and the view is superb.

Very busy Resturant so advise would be to book in advance but I think they also do bar snacks which is equally as good.

Visited here for the first time on a Wednesday evening. The restaurant was really busy and as we hadn't booked but we're advised we'd have a table in about 20 minutes. On a Wednesday evening on the Specials menu all main are £7 each. We had a drink and whilst waiting ordered our food from the menu. ( On which there is something to suit all tastes)

Another great feed at Square View. Went for dinner this evening with my wife. Food and service were both excellent and I thought it was great value for the quality on offer. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

Knew this place was good but was really impressed. Took wife and kids up, was well run with the owner chatting away with us. I completely cleared my plate as did the kids who wouldn’t usually do so. I will definitely be back again soon and more regularly!!

As a chef&owner; of local small bistro I was excited to come and try this TripAdvisor number 1 rated restaurant in County Antrim (where I am doing business as well). Well, what could I say...Very good service, on the ball (if card machine is not working it's not anybodys fault, I was happy to get cash from neighbour petrol station). Food wise, good standard. The reason I'm rating only average is the menu: battered fish, burger, steak, gammon etc. I ordered two starters for myself: spicy chicken wings and king prawns&chorizo;(roasted peppers). I don't know if that prawn&chorizo; thing was ment to be what? soup? chef is cutting the corners here (title of my review: prawn bowl looked a bit different when served!). wings from the freezer, peppers from the jar, and jar liquid in to the bowl? am I right? I've done 30 yrs in catering but I'm not too fussy when I'm customer. I'm very fussy when I'm cooking & serving like all the Chefs should be. Oh, yeah, my wifes steak was ordered med/well but it was pretty welldone. Number 1? I don't think so.

I cannot believe i have never visited this Restaurant before, it is located in Carrickfergus Cricket Club and to be honest i didnt know there was a restaurant open to the public. 5 of us went for a meal and the whole experience was excellent. The guy who served us was brilliant really polite and friendly. We had 3 rib eye steaks all perfectly cooked and full of flavour. The chicken goujons were excellent and full of chicken breast. Everything was freshly cooked, piping hot and delicious. We will definitely be back undoubtedly one of the best places to eat in Carrickfergus.

Well presented traditional cuisine in nice surroundings looking out of the cricket pitch. Specially nice in summer.

Ate here this morning with my son, both ordered the large fry and enjoyed every bit of our very generous portions. All components of fry were cooked perfectly. Staff were very friendly and attentive, and view from restaurant is beautiful. Will definitely be back to try their dinner menu.

Called in last minute, haven't been since it was taken over 3 years ago... could kick myself for not going sooner... the food was absolutely fabulous, so tasty. Staff where so attentive constantly asking if everything was satisfactory, which it was... and sticky toffee pudding was beautiful. We will be back next weekend. Fingers crossed.

Have been several times now and food is excellent, staff very friendly and value for money. Well worth a visit can recommend the chicken with mash and peppered sauce called SquareView Chicken. My husband likes the steaks he says they are cooked to perfection.

We had dinner here last night, fast efficient, friendly service. We had the bistro steak and Thai prawn curry both meals were excellent, can't wait to return.

I went there this evening for the first time and I have to say it was an absolute pleasure food was amazing totally on par with every othe place I have been to before if not better. Such a lovely evening, we decided to go down to the coast for a meal... Checked on here for your recommendation, I thank you fellow Trips... We had a fantastic meal, with such genuine hospitality from the Staff... I would thoroughly recommend this Gem of place. We felt so relaxed, with a wonderful view and a great atmosphere. Steak, Medium Rare, cooked to perfection. Roasted Chicken, was 'the best'.

Great value, great food and excellent hospitality. This is a great find and a wonderful venue for food and drinks. Very child friendly aswell. The restaurant manager is super helpful and always attentive. Love the place, highly recommended.

Absolutely loved this place! Great wee atmosphere, staff and service amazing, food was tremendous and definitely value for money. Totally recommend a visit! We are here on holiday and was a bit worried about where to find a lovely meal for my hubby, decent vegan dinner for me and a kids menu as it can be hard to get all three but this place totally hit the spot! Loved that their kids meal was so clearly homemade, no quick fix frozen or processed rubbish in sight! Manager/owner was lovely and made a point of having a chat to us as well as being super nice to our daughter. So yeah, if we ever come back on holiday, we will definitely be returning!!!

Visited this evening for a family meal. 16 people in total. Pre ordered our meals off a superb menu. All food ordered was correct and top notch and all for a great price! Along with the food, service was different class.

Went here yesterday evening for tea with family . This is actually the cricket club in carrickfergus .....don't let the exterior put you offf .... we pulled into car park to think oh my goodness..... not the normal place that we would have booked ...... but could not have been happier..... made to feel very welcome by Stephen and the stafff . The food was very good .... could not fault it at all .. traditional cooking .... The interior is not fancy ... very plain but clean .....I would not hesitate to call in here again ....prices very good as well as was the service ... if you want no frills style evening this is the place ... wish Stephen all the best in his business...

We visited on two occasions in 4 days. The food was excellent and the service good. The host was most charming. Very reasonably priced with the bonus of watching some cricket! Highly recommend.

While this restaurant is in the cricket club you don't have to be a member to eat here - def do not let that put you off. Great food, great service, good value so what's not to like??! I am embarrassed to say this was my first visit in 18 years. As the crow flies I am 3 miles away. How disappointed should I be having missed this excellent venue for so long? We were seated at a table for four overlooking the Cricket pitch where a game was in progress between the local team and a South African team. The bar (around a corner from the restaurant) on the same floor was entertaining football followers with live TV of the world cup. Noisy. However our meals comprised chicken gougons, fish and chips, and a 10 oz. ribeye steak. No grease / oil on any food, cooked to perfection, with individual buckets of chips and sauces. We also ordered 2 quarter bottles of wine and 2 Sullivans keg ale pints. Total bill £65. Incredible value. Without a doubt the best in Carrickfergus. Booking essential. Also known locally as the Cricket Club restaurant.

Had dinner here on a Friday night in May 2018. We received a very warm welcome from the manager despite it being a busy night. The wait staff were friendly and attentive. The menu had plenty of options and prices were very reasonable. Our meals (lamb and steak) were cooked as requested (medium rare and rare) and were well presented. Wine choices were limited but adequate; the beer was excellent. A feature of dining here is the friendliness of the club setting.

Been today square view i had rump steak medium rare bloody excellent my partner had the. Lamb again first class.bottle of shiraz 11.50 and a pavlova desert wonderful meal this has got to be hard to beat.

To our surprise this restaurant was open to the public as it was in Carrick Cricket Club. What a find, the atmoshere was great, with a view over the cricket square. We were welcomed by Stephen and attended to by the friendliest of staff. The choices were aplenty and the dishes we chose were both generous and cooked to perfection. So glad I phoned to check out this gem as we will be back very soon.

Had Sunday lunch here today after being recommended by my niece.. It didn't dissapoint... Lovely friendly welcome by the staff who took time to ask how we were and welcomed my wee 3. Year old nephew... We had turkey and ham and lamb Sunday dinners with all the trimmings.. My nephew had sausages mash and gravy.. Everything piping hot and so fresh was delicious.. Pavlova and sticky toffee pudding home made for dessert was to die for... They have a steak night last Friday of the month and we will most definitely be there.. Went to the square view restautant for a family dinner. Stephen was more than friendly, he was very accomodating. His staff were very welcoming and friendly. The food was outstanding and the service was excellent. I had the chicken goujons and chips, the chicken just melted in you mouth. The portion sizes are more than generous!! Would definitely recommend everyone to try this restaurant, the prices are very reasonable ! Definitely one to try!!

I visit Square View a few times a year when I'm back in NI seeing family. The food is always freshly made and delicious. The portions are generous and the staff friendly. It is extremely good value for money especially if you go, like I did, on a Wednesday when the main courses are on offer for £7.

Received a really warm welcome by Stephen on arrival. Staff were very friendly . The menu was excellent. We both decided on a roast... I had beef and my partner had turkey and ham.Food arrived quickly and it was absolutely delicious. Portions were amazing and quality of food was great. Vegetables tasty and meat melted in the mouth. Yorkshire pudding was home made. After little persuasion We shared the desert... a Pavlova (home made) and we were not disappointed. This was our first visit and wont be our last. This was our first visit to the Square today and we would thoroughly recommend you visit. Our roasts were cooked to perfection, the veg was fresh and full of flavour and we both struggled to finish our meals. The pavlova was the best I've had. Our waitress was very pleasant and Stephen was welcoming and friendly.

Another great meal in Square View. Visited 25th August for a family meal out. Everyone enjoyed their food. Hubby and I had steak deal which was gorgeous. The other two had gammon and fish, clean plates all round. Two of us had dessert (sticky toffee) which was to die for. Would highly recommend this place, cant wait for another visit.

We had a girly night last Friday 7th August at the Square View restaurant in Carrickfergus cricket club. Stephen made us very welcome and the service was superb from start to finish. Food was gorgeous, clean plates all round!! Best sticky toffee pudding ever and is made on the premises. Fantastic value, would highly recommend & we will definitely be back, especially for the steak deal on the last Friday of every month.

Absolutely fantastic local spot, you'd be hard pressed to find better food in Carrickfergus. The staff are all fantastic and attentive without being overbearing. A delightful view of the cricket grounds and surrounding hills adds to the atmosphere and relaxed tone of the restaurant.I'm visiting on 9/8/17 which is a Wednesday and they do a brilliant deal menu for £7, that includes a bistro steak, a burger and chip meal, fish and chips, and a gammon meal to name but a few.
