Beautiful old traditional Irish Pub. The Guinness was amazing, perfect pour, perfect dome, creamy and thick with a perfect taste. I am a Guinness Snob, and although I was only in Northern Ireland for 5 days, and was only able to try the Guinness in the local areas of Bushmills, Portrush, and Belfast. This was the best pint of Guinness and Pub I had been into. I wish I could have gotten the Barmaid's name to mention her here, but which ever-lovely lady was working Monday 4th September 2023 at about 3:30 pm, you were an artist with the Guinness. Highly Recommend this Pub to any Guinness drinker or anyone who wants a nice place to catch a pint in a beautiful traditional pub.

We went with a large group over from England for the traditional music night. What a brilliant night, fantastic music, hospitality and friendliness. Our guests couldn't believe the craic we have in Northern Ireland. Thank you all at the Springhill and the musicians ❤️

Popped in with a friend for a quiet pint mid-afternoon. Has a little beer garden out back. Described to me as an "old man's pub". Fine but not quite enough character for me to rush back.

Went here on a Thursday night. The Guinness and beer were good. A friendly place with good service. The best bit was the group of about ten folk musicians having a great time on wind instruments, violins and various percussion instruments. The bar was very busy with people of all ages enjoying the music - and beer.

Arrived in Portrush Thursday morning and after a fantastic journey up the north east coast ended up in this bar…it seemed all the locals came out to play their instruments it was a very authentic night and thoroughly loved it by the open fire

Loved the atmosphere.. The staff were very helpful.. my husband needed a chair and they went and found one for him..Lively music by talented people.. such fun..Guinness was good too!!

One of the BEST experiences of our trip so far! Live Irish music, great people and staff, the staff even "agreed to drive us crazy Americans home" to our B & B when we discovered our taxi guy was no longer available. Unreal service!!!! Staff were lovely nice wee bar for a couple of drinks

Called here with friends for a few drinks. Service and drinks were great and a nice open fire was on the go. However visit was ruined when the place was overwhelmed by the smell of cannabis being smoked in the beer garden/smoking area. We would have stayed but smell was disgusting. A local who was involved realised we were talking about it and closed doors but too late. Staff did nothing such a shame.

Nice bar, traditional. Great Guinness and the staff are friendly. Don’t serve any food not even crisps and they don’t have WiFi hence the 4 stars.

If You are after a night of letting Your hair down, this could be a good place to start (or finish). The staff at The Springhill Bar are quick to serve and pleasant with it... Prices are good and the drink selection is pretty varied too... I left the Bar relatively late in order to look for somewhere I could buy some hot food, it was a short while later that I discovered that my party hadn't lifted my jacket before they too left the Bar. I returned and explained the situation and they kindly allowed me to fetch it. Enjoy your visit.

Great pub if you don’t want to be ripped off paying over the odds for drinks , would highly recommend this pub £7.00 for two wine most places charge that for one.

Called in a coue of times during a weekend break away. Friendly approachable staff, nothing was too much trouble. A locals local, but a warm welcome to visitors. Wasnt serving food when we were in, but you were allowed to bring your own, cant be bad to thst !.Will definitely call again when back in town, I suggest you should as well.

We wandered in to the Springhill Bar on a random Wednesday night...no music, but we still had a blast! We were the only tourists in the place...met a wonderful bartender...great conversation with locals...beer was great! Not a fussy or high-end place, just comfortable. Highly recommend. One of my favorite pubs during our two-week travels in Ireland!!

Walked past this bar many many times and never really wanted to go in, kind of assumed it was an old man’s pub but that has been my loss! On the recommendation of a local friend, we went along to the Thursday Irish music night. It was great craic! Lovely mix of people and ages with some great music. Fingers crossed we’ll be back in Portrush on another Thursday night.

This is a great, lively local pub. It isn’t overly big but it has a great atmosphere. I have been several times over the last 10 years, visiting Portrush for the North West 200. It can get a little Raucous at times but that is people having fun.

Was recommended by hotel staff as they lived in Portrush. We love Irish folk music which was playing there on Thursday night our last night before returning to Scotland. Had amazing atmosphere and everyone was so friendly..had drinks promotion for 3 bottles for the price of 2 until 11pm. Will definetely return to Springhill bar.

A good local bar, Friendly, well priced beer, live music , and was well supported by the locals when we were there ( some supported it with more gusto then others ha ha)

We happened in on a Thursday night when there was an improv musical session going on. Get there around 9:00 as this place gets full on Thursdays by 9:20 or so. Sit or stand at the bar and try to engage the locals in conversation although they may be a bit hard to understand with the music in the background. The accent here is heavy; your efforts will be rewarded. Be friendly.

I went on a thursday and there was excellent live Irish music. a bunch of people hung around a big table with their own instruments and played, then more came a joined it. the pub has a great atmosphere, friendly and lively people and bartenders. very reasonably priced drinks!

Exteriormente, el Springhill no sería el más emocionante, bar buscando y que por desgracia, hemos pasado regularmente a lo largo de los años durante muchas vacaciones al puerto. Ah, LO QUE HAS PERDIDO!!! Caminar a través de las puertas, y encontrará un maravilloso, limpio y reluciente, pub tradicional, lleno de personalidad y amable! Obviamente es popular entre los lugareños, pero pronto sentirte como parte de ella, como los visitantes son recibidos calurosamente por todos. Miércoles es 'abierto' la noche - mic gran entretenimiento y diversión brillante! Pero, lo mejor de todo es tradicional noche de música irlandesa... jueves sencillamente sobresaliente!! Había por lo menos 10 músicos talentosos y altamente-15 cantantes de diversos lugares, que tocaba y cantaba, a veces juntos, a veces por separado, y, con todo el ambiente y a todo el mundo en el bar Pic cantar, me podría haber levantado el tejado!! Viene gente de cerca y lejos de disfrutar de lo que sin duda es una de las mejores noches de verdadera música irlandesa que jamás!! ... y es gratis!!!! Gracias al personal del bar y, en particular, Leslie, un maravilloso camarero y un cantante que, (junto con su hermana Annie de madrugada) nos hizo sentir muy bienvenidos! Grandes recuerdos y no podemos esperar a volver!!

One of the few traditional pubs that I saw in Portrush. A nice place for a pint or two, t's a cozy little place that is quite popular with locals.

Called into the Springhill for a couple on 08/01/16, as we always do when staying in The Port.This has to be one of the friendliest bars in the area by far.Barstaff and locals alike are just amazingly friendly and the craic in this place is second to none.Call in sometime and you'll see what I mean!

There are many pubs in Ireland claiming to offer the "authentic" Irish experience, but I find that the hidden wee gems, the one's with no advertisements and no fuss are usually the very best, and the same is true of the Springhill. It's a true local gem, where everyone seems to know everyone and if they don't know you personally they probably know someone, who knows someone from your neck of the woods (even if you're from another country). The music on a Thursday night is breathtaking. Countless musicians playing traditional pieces, no sheet music, speakers or rehearsals needed. Get there early to get a seat, or stand back and have room to dance; it's up to you. But what ever you do, smile and have fun, because it's the perfect place to do it.

I spent a few days in Portrush and went to the Springhill bar on a Thursday night where there was a free traditional Irish music session. It was a great night, the Guinness was terrific, the locals were welcoming and I had a terrific evening. The owner Sean bought me a pint because I was a visitor! A lovely spot.

Cosy bar with amazing Guinness and live music on Thursdays. Will make you feel like one of the crowd should not leave you disappointed if you like Irish music. As I do not dance the fact that there was no place to do so did not bother me at all.

Decent pub but Thursday night is a must. We were given a tip by our B & B but what a great surprise to find 18 talented traditional Irish musicians do a traditional set. Fantastic music and atmosphere. DON'T miss this!

Listening to traditional Irish music in an intimate atmosphere with mostly the locals. Unfortunately there were some locals that were drinking a bit too much and became very loud, so they were disturbing the intimate atmosphere.But once you can ignore that, you'll be able to enjoy the authentic experience.

its easy here, if your not regular you don't seam to be very welcome. the staff talk to and laugh with people who seam to be regular but me not being a familiar face was greeted and served with a series of grunts and mono toned responses.

We so enjoyed the jig and reel jam Thursday evening. Local musicians of all ages playing all different instruments played traditional Irish music. We thoroughly enjoyed this. We liked it so much we went back the following night, Friday. There was no music however we enjoyed the beer, atmosphere and the locals. We felt welcomed!

Went on a Thursday as we wanted to hear the music. Got there at a great time and got a table right next to where the group would be. Got two Guinnesses and when I asked for a couple of napkins, the barkeep looked around, went in the back and gave me a bunch of toilet paper. I loved it!The musicians started coming in a bit after 9 PM. There ended up being at least 15 of them. We were right behind a woman who played both the recorder and tin whistle very well and danced with her feet better than anyone I have ever seen.A fun night.

We visited the Springhill Bar for some evening refreshment and entertainment. It is a quaint Pub, with nightly traditional music by a collection of "drop in " musicians including guitars, banjos, fiddles, flutes, clarinets, or whatever. Next door is a "package store" where you can buy alcohol for take home.

Showed up around 9 for a local musician caleigh. It was a collection of 10 to 14 young and old local people playing fun Irish music..great fun if you are there on the right date. Right across from Beulah B & B /check the bar window for schedule.

i was in this bar on new years eve night just past, they had music on and it was absolutely fantastic, was having a ball until i had to go to the toilet, A girl had just walked out as i was approaching the door when the door swung closed after her exiting i could get the smell even before i went in, it was horrendous, I didnt even use the toilet after that, i was having so much fun and really enjoying the music but i had to leave the place as i needed the toilet so much, absolutely fantastic wee bar for entertainment just a pity about the toilets, but if i ever here that toilets are up to scratch and not smelly i will def be back

They were playing traditional Irish music which was great, the pints weren't overly expensive. However, I found the place a bit dirty and it smelled a bit. There were people there who I felt were way too drunk to be there. I'm not some fuddy duddy who doesn't go past a few drinks, in fact I am a beer and jaegerbomb swilling 21 year old who has been refused service from pubs for being a lot less drunk than some of these people. A lot of them could hardly walk and there was a guy whose trousers kept falling down.Pub itself was OK :)

Was in here have a drink after northwest having a great night until seen man trying to help an older gentleman out side when the bar man punched the younger man on the face for no apparent reason it was a disgrace the springhill could employ a thug like this and I will be making full police statement in due course

We go here quite often for a few drinks after we have already been out. Can be a bit rough round the edges at times but on the whole most of the customers are regulars.

We visited Portrush after a recommendation and with it being St Patrick's Day had hoped to come across a pub just like this! There was a great atmosphere, friendly and welcoming (even though there was a very "local" feel to it, we did not feel out of place). There were Irish dancers and many people playing instruments for hours on end as the drink was flowing. It really was a highlight of our short trip in NI and would recommend to all sorts of people. Hope to go back one day!
