NEVER GOING NEAR THIS PLACE AGAIN ! Although the prices are through the roof, food was passable considering the very limited options nearby. However, The manager's behavior was utterly unacceptable. Despite the place being deserted and just half an hour away from closing time, they BLUNTLY refused to let us carry a small portion of leftover food one of us had in his hand by saying AT THE DOOR “You can’t bring in any food from outside. Out of courtesy, I went to request the manager if we can consume that small portion of food along with a huge order that 8 of us placed in this restaurant, but he so shamelessly said we can’t eat that in here. What a sheer display of rudeness and lack of empathy, completely ruined what could have been a decent dining experience. 👎🏻

Situated in the High Street but the main dining area has superb views out over the water. Very tasty food with great service. Would definitely recommend.

The view was amazing. But the food was not good at all. They have provided chicken biryani that was smelling bad and even veg was not worth it.

Worst food ever, just the name tandoori. Just red colour added to some water & served as curry. You might probably find some rotten vegetables.

This deserves to be much higher than it is! We read the reviews before hand and glad we ignored the harsher ones. This place is a solid Indian, curries were flavoursome and the mushroom rice was especially tasty! The service was super friendly and attentive, as well as the surprisingly beautiful views you get when you sit out back.

The Biriyani we had was not at all tasty. I don't understand why they don't put enough salt in a spicy dish. However, the ambience is great here and this resto is one of the best in Fort William. More focus should be put on making the food items more tasty. The cashew nut rice was nice though.

Hopeless Lazy n Rude Staff Never have food here

I would give this zero stars if I could. Walked in at 9:30pm (they close at 10:30pm) and was told that it is takeaway only. They said they stop serving 40 minutes before closing….they might need a maths lessons! Seems like they are making up the rules as they go along. All staff were sat on the seats and not working - seems like they don’t want any customers so let’s all do them a favour and never turn up again. Disgusted. Visitors to Fort William - avoid this place like the plague. 🤢🤢🤢🤢

AVOID AVOID AVOID got to be the worse chicken pakora ever its more like a bad Chinese chicken ball. Very over priced £15 for a small bowl of curry that's not with rice. Definitely got to be the wose pakora in scotland. Staff kept walking round your table felt very rushed. WONT BE BACK. STICK TO WETHERSPOONS CURRYS A LOT BETTER VALUE.

The last time I was in this building, it was the Drovers. The food was fantastic, and the service was fabulous. They couldn't do enough, and there was more food than I could finish. We tried 4 different curries, and all of them were top-notch.

We found this only restaurant for dinner in the Fort William, took the risk and it was a worth visiting. Food was spicy as per our tastebuds ,Staff were friendly and kind , atmosphere was good. Great dinner on Friday night.

We came here with the family including kids, The service was average but the food quality & taste was lower than average. As there is not many choices of Indian foods so they are taking a fully advantage of this & over charging.

Shocking prices, £18.95 for a chicken tikka starter, naan bread and a portion of chips to take out. We asked for the chicken tikka plain and it came with onions and mushrooms. I took it back and they tried to charge me again for it plain!!!!

When we visited Fort William, Scotland, we found an Indian food restaurant there, so we were happy to have Indian food. However, it turned out to be a terrible experience, destroying all our travel plans. The food was not good at all; we ordered naan, mixed grill, and paneer masala, but when they served it, we noticed it was heavily colored and spicy additionally, it's very costly; they charged 46 pounds . When we complained, they replaced the paneer with chicken curry. It was a bad experience, and it affected our stomachs negatively

The chef thinks that if he put bright red tandori masala on everything, it will do the trick. Well, it didn’t. The taste of tandori chicken was awful. We ordered fried rice and got boiled basmati rice (bland). Chicken jalfarezi was ok but again the bright red tandori colour was immensely unappetising. Staff needs to learn a thing or two about the hospitality sector - weird attitude. The amount of money owner has spent on ambience speaks for itself (and oh dont get me started on playing french pop songs in an Indian restaurant…!!??) but it would be wise to channel the money in finding a proper indian chef and training waiters. Excruciatingly overpriced! Disappointing and underwhelming

We were hesitant to order this because of the other reviews. Our experience was great. We got the food for takeaway but the staff were friendly and the food was ready on time and really delicious. We had naan, rice, chicken jalfrezie, and lamb garlic masala. Overall really great.

Not a good meal and left disappointed. Very poorly made sauces and chicken bone dry. The korma sauce looked and tasted weird, so sickly sweet and gloopy and my dopiaza tasted like chilli powder had been added to the sauce after heating, not nice. Vegetable pakora was nice but cold. You need to pay extra if you want a dip which we didn’t know that. Strange for a restaurant but the spiced onions are served in a take away container at your table and also very dry. They leave them sitting out on a shelf so no wonder. We spoke to the manager and he apologised and we paid for our starter and drinks then left. The servers where very nice.

Best curry ever!! Wasn't really wanting a curry this night but it was right opposite our hotel. But so glad we did come here. Looks small from outside but behind go up some stairs to a large open plan area overlooking the Loch. Pleasant area with nice ambience. We just had main meals but both were a LOT better than our usual curries. We had Lamb Madras, which was a nice brown colour . Sauce was hot but nit burning. But the lamb was AMAZING! So tender, it just melted in your mouth. Not chewy or tough. I had Chicken Korai. 1st time with this dish. I usually have madras but wanted a change. Very similar, but again, meat was beautiful . Sauce hot and VERY tasty. DEFINATELY would get again. Even the Naans were tasty. Not greasy. 2x curries with naans and rice, with 1 beer and 1 soft drink= £57. WELL worth the money. Can't recommend this place enough. I visit Fort William 2-3 times a year but will be making this my go-to place for eating for now on. Thank you for a great experience.

Found us a table on a busy Saturday evening, great prompt service and the food was well cooked with great portions.

First of all as a coeliac almost everything on the menu is gluten free or can be made gluten free. Modern setting, friendly staff and first rate food was pleasantly surprised. The Bengal Paneer was a highlight.

Popped in here as we arrived in fort william late on sunday night, so ordered a take away. The guy at the frount was friendly and very helpful. Food was second to none. Would definitely order food from here again,

Samosa and onion bhaji were fine, the main dish was naan and chicken jalfrezi. Naan was good and fresh, as were the starters. The chicken was just thrown into the curry and not cooked together, precooked on a skewer, so not the best way and saving time. Being from Yorkshire where we get a lot of curry places and properly cooked, this was below par but fine as no other option nearby.

Called for a takeaway, ready when we arrived to pick up, when home hubbys was ok, mine was missing the sauce and was extremely greasy and the lamb was very dry. Nan bread was good. We won’t be having another one.

Me and my best friend visited fort William, after a long drive from Liverpool and Leeds and quite a few cocktails. Me and my bestie thought it was best not to cook. Rang this lovely restaurant and asked for a take away. Despite the fact they don’t deliver, they took pitty on me and my friend. They really did not disappoint, this is one of the best chicken tikkas I have eaten, the perfect blend of sweet and species, fantastic naan bread. My friend had the lamb korma, lamb was perfectly tender and delicious. 10/10.

Booked a table for two and was welcomed in. Had the usual popodoms and dips which was lovely and crisp. A couple of Peroni zeros were had. Main chicken tikka rogan Josh and a bhuna were decent size and very flavoursome. The peshwerie nan a bit tough. Service was excellent and staff pleasant. Will certainly return.

We are here tonight as a family of five. Two adults and children aged 9-15. We had popadoms and pickles to start, then onion bhajis and samosas followed by mains of curries and biriani and sides of naan, rices and paratha bread. The service was lovely and all food tasted fresh and delicious. It isn’t cheap but prices are in line with other restaurants in the area. We would definitely come back if staying in the area again.

Avoid going here. Their food is over priced and they give 15 min to eat 😔. I literally don’t know how people even go there. There are plenty good places nearby.

Great ambience but terrible food. The chicken they serve is very hard and stale. We ordered chicken Tikka and the portion was very small for the price paid. Do not fall for the "indian restaurant" trap, it's not even close to indian cuisines. Making a cuisine spicy doesn't make it indian. Highly disappointed.

It was a complete nightmare to visit this restaurant. This is not an Indian restaurant, to begin with, the manager of this restaurant is disrespectful. He got into an argument with us over swiping the card and also pushed me to fight my husband. I tried explaining the lady or the owner that this is not right of this man to push me and instead of listening she kept telling me to leave. Now to food, we had pakoras it was pathetic and fully immersed in oil. I would advise not having food in this restaurant. I had to give 1 star because it didn’t allow me to give 0

Phone for takeaway was great service. We ordered lamb biryani witch was absolutely amazing,fresh and arrived hot so tasty 😋. And also order sheek kebab again very delicious hot and not greasy. Best poppadoms we have ever had and the yoghurt dip was phenomenal. Will definitely be back here again highly recommend 😃😃😃😃

Both the service and the food was less than average. First off the waitress could barely understand English so it was treacherous ordering and they didn’t even bring the naan which made it even harder to eat. I ordered hot sauce and it was just sweet and not spicy at all. I don’t normally leave bad reviews but this restaurant should learn something. The curry was extremely sweet and my gf described it as eating warm ice cream. The samosas were not the typical ones you get either. Maybe they cater to the locals, but I recommend going somewhere else. Oh and the fried rice was cold and hardly even cooked with whole raw peppers.

Eaten here a few times but not for a few years. Ate here this week and really enjoyed it. Delicious fresh food and plenty of it.

Well trust me if you dont wanna waste your money. The restaurant is superb feel giving very stylish and the service is ok coz many times the waiter came to take the order again and again coz of not able to manage the crowd. The food i must say is the worst food i had in scotland. I spent about $230 and the food was pathetic. Instead of putting money on the ambience the food matters guys. We go to a reataurant to have good food and quality time with family and friends but wasting so much money just for the ambience is not cool at all😔

I can’t believe anyone would have anything bad to say about this place. The staff are very friendly and attentive, the service was efficient and the food is really really good. I can honestly say that this is the best lamb I have ever had in a curry, it was so tender and not one bit of fat or gristle in the whole dish. Everything else was delicious too. I’d give 10 stars if I could, and I don’t often write reviews, but I feel this place deserves a better rating. It’s just a shame I live 286 miles away, but I will definitely come back to Fort William just for a curry at Spice Tandoori. Thanks for being a great end to a great day 👍🏻

Pop in when waiting for ferry . Staff and welcome was very good . A little bit disappointed with food . Starter of chicken pakora was more like chicken in batter you would use for fish supper . Chicken had been precooked and quickly fried in a basic batter . Main courses were better and were good but could have been better . Ok for a inoffensive Indian but I have had better and worse Indian food .

We went here after our Ben Nevis climb so were starving and wanted a little celebration. Arrived early so only third full but warm welcome and nice décor and atmosphere. Service slick, attentive and professional. Food not the tastiest 'Indian' I've had but equally still good and reasonable flavour. Great for what we wanted. I suspect they operate a quick turnover policy and when we left there was a big queue at the door so obviously popular. If you want a quick, reasonable cost and good meal then I'd recommend. If you are looking for a top quality gourmet Indian meal that you can spend hours over then you may be slightly disappointed...

We were quite hungry, and we were able to have food in a nice place. I'll give 4 stars to ambience, location, and service, and I think I'll stop there.. Oh and their tandoori Roti was really really good.. but as far as dishes were concerned, we had achari chicken and chicken tandoori on bone.. The latter had bulk loads of pink food colour, giving it quite an artificial look.. I'd probably advice them to just use masala powders that have ready mixed red paprika colour, it doesn't look as odd as dark pink.. For us, the taste was OK enough to consume, in my best words. It was little pricy than elsewhere, but it's a hot tourist attraction, so I get that part.

This is probably the worst indian food I have had comparing it with the food in USA, India and other parts of the world. There was so much food coloring in the tandoor which was tasteless. And how can they go wrong with a basic dal .. even my 13 years old niece makes a better and flavorful dal. Except for the papad which the chef had to only fry and give no food item that we ordered which is chicken tikka, tandoori chicken, garlic nan and dal tadka had any flavor. Its sad because UK is generally known for their Indian food. As an Indian I urge them to train their chef until then please eat at your own risk

Très mauvaise expérience au Spice Tandoori. Des l’accueil, nous sommes reçus par une employée avec un chewing-gum, qui visiblement ne voulait pas comprendre ce que nous voulions boire. Finalement nous n’avons pas même eu d’eau. Les serveurs sont peu sympathiques, pressés et pressants. Le cadre est particulièrement bruyant, en plus des bruits classiques de restaurant et de la musique de fond, on soulignera les chariots de cantine poussés par les serveurs qui vont et viennent à travers les tables. La nourriture est OK, pas authentique mais mangeable. On y retournera clairement pas !

Stopped off in Fort William while travelling South from Skye. Large and busy restaurant , really enjoyed the food and the service was friendly and efficient. Great value !

We were in Fort William for 2 nights and didn't know where to eat. Saw Spice Tandoori and decided to give them a go. WOW!! Am I ever glad we did! The food was out of this world, the service and atmosphere were amazing, and the view across the bay was stunning! We went back the next night, cause we wanted to try something else on the menu! I cannot recommend Spice Tandoori, Fort William enough! Well worth every penny spent!

Reviews are so weird. The negative reviews almost steered us away saying things like "horrible food" and whatnot. We both got lamb dishes and they were pretty tasty! Definitely above average. Would recommend. Cool ambiance.

Ordered kadhai (korai) paneer and chicken jalfrezi - both dishes had the exact same, disgusting tomato sauce. The food was so exceptionally bad I couldn’t finish even half of it - this place should be shut down at the first opportunity

There isn’t much choice of decent food in Fort William, so we thought we might play it safe with a curry! Sadly Spice Tandoori doesn’t live up to it’s name as it did not serve an authentic Tandoori, rather some dodgy meat in a highly coloured sauce which tasted like the spicing was sub par, layered on top rather than marinaded. We were proposed ‘a secret’ sauce to go alongside which should not be necessary. Particularly noxious were the chutney tray sauces, not even any real yoghurt, just gelatinous, luminously coloured gloop. If you like curry, don’t go here until they can sort out their issues with authenticity and quality of ingredients.

Yes, they were very busy, but they fitted us and we hadn't booked. Yes, they were very busy, but the food was well worth the wait Our Starters - Onion Barji & Veggie samosa were hot and excellent, although without mint raita or mango chutney. Our mains - Lamb Biryani & Chicken Tikka North Indian garlic chili - both tasty, hot and very flavourful - super fresh chillies. Not oily at all like so many other Indian restaurants. Accompanied by beautifully prepared Garlic & Peshawari Naans. We really enjoyed our meal Our server Nazia - was great, she even turned down the air con when we asked. We climbed Ben Nevis today - this meal was a great way to celebrate

Food was okay, but if you think you order spicy food then you're wrong. The taste is not as spicy as expected (actually more sweet) and some of the colors seemed more artificial than from actual spices. Told the waiter and he just looked at me, turned around and walked away. Place where VERY crowded.

Food was not so great! Chapati ( wheat bread) was frozen, could easily identify with the appearance, taste etc. Food quantity wasn’t enough for 2. Overpriced. Look for other better option if would like to have Indian food!!
