We got takeaway this evening and all 7 of us thoroughly enjoyed the food… from the mild pasanda to the spicy chili and naga ones. Absolutely lovely! Many thanks!

Good food and excellent service

An absolutely excellent indian meal on a quiet Wednesday evening with a client and his business partner. Waiter service lacked a little finesse, and it seemed we were more of an inconvenience. Regularly use the restaurant as a takeaway, as the food is exceptional.

The butter chicken and saag paneer. Lemon rice,lamb chom chom were absolutely exquisite. With drinks. £46 Well spent. Service was fast and polite. Great experience will definitely go again

Being waiting for nearly 2 hours for my food to be delivered

I am a Canadian visiting University of Reading at UK with my family. I was recommended by a friend to have dinner at this award winning restaurant. Food was simply outstanding...hospitality was great. I ate Bolti Karai, lamb Naga, lamb biriyani, mixed platters, vegetables bhaji, tarka Daal, and Naan. Heaven exists....

I eat here regularly on a Thursday for the £15 banquet night.. The staff are very friendly and accommodating and the food is delicious especially the tikka masala which is amazing!!!

We had a lovely family meal here this evening. The food was excellent, really tasty and authentic with a great use of spices , nothing too over powering . The portion sizes were great, and it was served on hot plates ( its a chef thing, love a hot plate) the restaurant is very clean, and staff are so friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend a visit . The Thursday night banquet is such great value for money too. Thank you 😊

Food was good when it came. Such slow service. Way too much focus on take outs and deliveroo drivers. Dinning in guests just left. We had a table for 7pm. Our main meal came at 915pm. Not acceptable at all.

The best Indian restaurant I've been to for a looong time. No shortage on the use of spices, really well seasoned. Totally understand why these guys got an award (even if it was from a couple of years ago, though that may have been due to covid). We ate as a group of 6 and tried each others dishes, everyone was impressed. Nothing missed and great service from end to end. Finally, a decent Indian restaurant in this area! Will return.

Got a takeaway Saturday night about 830 . Restaurant was quiet only 4 people in there. Ordered a lamb madras a chicken tikka masala Bombay potato and rice . Food came quickly. As we eat the meal at home. We noticed the chicken was so overcooked. The madras was a load of gravy (nothing else)with five pieces of lamb . The Bombay was ok . Won't be returning to this place again. No excuse. Restaurant was quiet.

I asked how much it will take to get my order and the answer was "almost ready"...waited 12 minutesover estimated time, asked again same question and i receive the same answer. End up leaving after 25 minutes witouth my order and still don't know what does "almost ready" means: 2-3 minutes or a few hours.

We ordered a Rajasthani Dish which had no taste and they have no clue what actually that means! Though it was categorised under the Chef Recommendation! Not sure who classified them to be an Indian restaurant. They even don’t know what is Butter Chicken? I guess, they even don’t understand those two words what is butter and what is chicken . It was a curry of crushed coconuts with cold chicken breast strips. These kind of restaurants are the Indian restaurants bad. They should be immediately banned. It was like serving Beer in a glass where Malt Barley and Water was given. Diluted grapes paste as Wine!

Moved to Farnborough 5 months ago and enjoyed a takeaway from here almost every week which tasted great, on the last two orders the chicken has been awful and tough as though it was cooked the week before. Gave it the benefit of doubt to see if it was a one off bad week but two bad meals in a row tonight has meant that this restaurant will no longer be on my Deliveroo option list. Sorry but you need to go back to your previous chef/food standards.

WOW. Thank You Guys. Ordered meal for delivery last night through Just Eat. Delivery time very fast, but my point is.... Food was that nice we as a family just ordered more for tonight's dinner which was last night's left overs 😊 Starters..Stunning Mains.. Fantastic Rice and Naans..Amazing. Friendly staff, good service. But overall disappointed by food. Buffet £12.90 on website £15 in restaurant but not mentioned at booking which is no problem when the food is good… but all a bit bland tbh. DP thought his was like a chicken casserole, barely any spice. Chicken over cooked in all 4 dishes. Nan breads burnt in middle & lacking flavour. Starters we’re good. Got initially overcharged by £47.

Superb dinner. I hosted dinner for 25 ppl for my birthday, and they did us proud. All guests said the food was top notch.

My family and I have been visiting the Spice Lounge for many years and it's always been our favourite Indian restaurant. On our recent visit however, we were really disappointed. Although the food was still good, we felt the service and the overall ambience was spoilt by the constant hustle and bustle of people collecting takeaways and deliveroo/just eat drivers. The staff were extremely busy dealing with takeaways, the phone was constantly ringing and this left us feeling slightly neglected. We were extremely grateful that we weren't seated near the door because it was constantly in use! We completely understand that restaurants have had to rely upon takeaways to keep their businesses going throughout the pandemic but, surely, this shouldn't be given priority over loyal customers who enjoy eating in the restaurant. It's such a shame.

Just walked in by myself as I was staying in the area. Very friendly welcome and could choose where to sit. Clean modern decor (I sat near big bubble feature on the wall - very relaxing) and the food was to die for. I ordered Bengal Special which was chicken filled with spiced beef - very tender and delicious. Couldn't eat it all so had it bagged up to take home.

We had a lovely meal on Friday evening excellent service and food. We felt safe to eat under COViD restrictions and the staff operated in a COViD safe manor.

Went there and was thrown into a corner. One of the owners told the waiters to seat us there. I dont think he realised we spoke bengali and was actually very rude. Food was ok. However not impressed when they tried to trick us and give us an extra dish we didnt order and expected us to pay for. Overall a very strange experience. Never experienced anything like it.

After many years of using this restaurant I am sad to say we will not be using them again after tonight’s take awayWaited 1 and half hours to collect then had to wait another 50 minutes for to to be ready. Food was for want of a better word crap greasy burnt and nothing like we have had from them in the past .I understand they want to make money but they have clearly taken more orders than they can cope with shocking service

Sadly this was the worst Indian takeaway I have ever experienced in 45 years of eating curry. The Makhan Chicken was so vivid red it looked more like some form of toxic waste. The lamb kebab was tough and inedible. The biryani had an unpleasant flavour as if the oil used was rancid. A memorable meal for all the wrong reasons

Went there last night with a friend, food was ok and cheapish. Waiter appeared friendly but 20 minutes after serving food, he and he’s colleagues kept on checking on us every 30 seconds and kept asking if we finished eating (we hardly started eating, table was full, let alone finished) We had no choice but to leave as their behaviour became unacceptable. Rude behaviour doesn’t help, specially at a time when restaurants are about to go extinct. Bottom line. I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant!

Lovely to visit our local Indian restaurant again post lockdown. The food is always freshly cooked, piping hot, and very tasty. Felt very COVID secure as they were taking all the necessary precautions. Great value restaurant. We’ll be back again soon!

Tried ordering a takeaway online but annoyingly couldn’t get the system to work, so had to phone through. Our Tandoori Mixed Grill, Butter Chicken and sides was ready for collection in 30mins (all operated to current social distancing procedures). Generous portions and food tasty but in my opinion the tandoori meat was a bit dry/tough - lol the mint sauce softened it up!

This is my favourite place for a curry i personally think the food is amazing i recommend giving it a go if your in the area

First time ordering a take away from here, won’t be re using this company!!! Food was an hour and a half wait, no apologies for late delivery.. I ordered a mushroom rice and that wasn’t what I got, the rice I got was full of these perfumed seeds that ruined my meal.. yuk.. yuk!! Yuk! We will be sticking to the company we always use, just thought we would try somewhere different and we was thoroughly disappointed..

I know this goes against the grain for most of the other reviews, we took some friends there on Sunday to show them how good it was and we all came away very disappointed with the service I'm afraid, Hopefully this will be noted and improvements will be made 😊👍

Ordered a chicken tikka jalfrezi to be delivered. It was delivered in around 30 mins and was possibly the best one I can remember having ever. Really tasty, nice pieces of chicken and just left me really satisfied. Thank you.

I have been a few times to this restaurant and always had a good experience until last night. Poor welcome from owner to start, very slow service and new cutlery practically thrown onto the table. I don't think we'll be going back sadly.

The food is generally good here although some dishes lack taste, the non curry dishes probably need additional seasonings, the same with some of the curry's, however some days are better than others.

I booked a table for a birthday treat. On arrival I was told that there was no booking in my name and no table was available as the restaurant was fully booked. I explained that the booking had been made with the owner and gave details of the booking.. the owner appeared, recollected taking my booking and offered a half-price meal on my next visit. I explained that there would not be a next visit.

I'm not normally a big eater of Indian food but my date and I ended up here as choices of places to sit and eat in the immediate are limited. I would happily come and eat here again.Food choices and quality: The menu has a wide variety of choice so is guaranteed to meet most tastes ranging from vegetarian or meat, thick sauce or dry rub and mild or spicy. Our food was served promptly, piping hot and well cooked - you could hear my tikka chicken still sizzling on the plate when it was delivered to the table. The dishes were packed with flavour. Service experience: Service was efficient and attentive, we didn't have to wait long for anything. Staff were friendly and helpful too. We didn't order any rice as both my partner and I had opted for flatbreads instead; upon both ordering and serving our food the wait staff asked to confirm that this was intentional.Atmosphere: Nice pleasant atmosphere. We went on a Friday night; the place was busy but not rowdy. It was also nice that there was no loud music playing. We could easily hold and follow a conversation between us. The decor is modern, simple and tasteful.Accessibility: Lots of free street parking available locally after 6 pm. We chose to eat in but this restaurant also does takeaway.Summary:Great Local Restaurant, would fully recommend. Good food, good service and good atmosphere. I certainly intend to eat here again.

there is not a huge selection of places in Mytchett, however Spice Lounge is just briliant. The staff are always friendly, whether take away or eat in. We more so have take out and it has been mentioned that whereever we move on to will need to be one within reasonable distance to Spice Lounge. The family always visit us for the indian !

Not bad, good atmosphere and quite busy. 5 of us went and all had different dishes, everyone commented how sweet they were which was a bit off putting. Other than that not really anything to complain about

Sunday 8th Sept, our first visit of hopefully a great many. Our party of 4 contained one who loves hot & spicy with a rich sauce, one who loves a hot dry dish, one who like medium flavour with sauce and one prefering a mild dish. All four of us loved the food cooked exactly as we would have wished.On arrival the welcome was very friendly with great service that continued right through the evening. We had fresh warm pappadoms with a good relish tray including my favourite lime pickle, 4 differents starters, 4 very different mains and a variety of delicious sides, rice and nans. Excellent food, service and value

A few friends who had never been before joined me on my last visit, they are still talking about it. They loved the layout and decor, i did explain it had just been redone but they also loved the fact it made a modern statement. also impressed with out arrival greeting and little informal chat. We all shared the popadum as a starter which was all fresh and even though not required was offered a replenisment.All four of us had differing main coures with me selecting a small variety of side orders, praise was heaped on the quality of the food, excelent service, care on our drinks replenishment and even though we did not a good offering of sweets, we did settle on coffee though. A full and most enjoyable evening.Thank you. One point i have been meaning to mention is the simple clearing of food debrie with brush or napkin that used to happen, it is missed when you sit and talk whilst having coffee.

This is my local Indian, given it a few tries but the sauce with the mains tastes like a generic sauce with varying levels of dry curry /chilli powder added, starters are nice otherwise disappointing.

A great find in an otherwise dire trip to this village. I would absolutely recommend this place. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and the food is lovely. Though it isn't the cheapest option in the area. We returned twice, and on all occasions noticed the incredible customer service delivered to all diners.

Went to this restaurant with family over Easter, first time here after hearing good reports, I was not dissapointed had a lovely meal, staff were excellent we were made very welcome I will certainly be returning and also spreading the word how good this restaurant is. Do your self a favour and get down there to try it for yourself.

Last minute booking. The place was fully booked, with two large groups. We were taken to the lounge by a regular to the restaurant. Unfortunately one of the group's (all men)were very noisy and the staff did not seem to be able to control the situation. The delivery of food was slow and we did have to chase for it. The food when delivered was good quality and good portion size.

Visited on a Thursday evening with my wife. The restaurant was busy as they were running a buffet night, however, this did not affect the quality of the service which was good or the food which was excellent. I would recommend this restaurant.

We are blessed with several Indian restaurants in the Frimley area and up to last night had not tried this one. We went on recommendation of some friends and guess what, they were bang on.
