Spice Lounge in Forest Heath

Food is OK, nothing special, they don't serve any dessert which is surprising not to have for Indian restaurant, the reason for 1 star review is we were one hour into our dinner, and was told to hurry up and vacant table when the restaurant was empty, also we had our toodler with us eating so its real shame restaurant don't value family and bit delay and telling us such thing when you have kids eating is disrespect towards your customer, even when restaurant was empty, we have ate in so many restaurants but no one have said such things when you have kids. Sorry not be visiting ever due to this.

Saturday night it seems possible to park just past Spice Lounge near hospice. Visiting Suffolk to go birdwatching. Needed something to eat around Mildenhall. Spice Lounge came out as recommended - and thanks to those who did because we had an exquisite meal with potential for some unusual dishes. Case in hand - I had a Lamb Xacuti. Superb taste. I like how the Spice built - I do like hot Spice - this was initially mild Spice but it built - possibly I could have gone a bit more but like I said I like it too hot. Mrs had chicken tikka. Naan breads were amazing. And the tamarind spiced sauce on the pickle tray was my favourite. We came for the birds - could imagine moving to Mildenhall for The Spice Lounge. Bravo chef and team.

I’m from Kent and in the area for work this is the second restaurant that I have sampled this week, the locals are really spoilt for these establishments, one of the best Indian restaurants I have eaten in, food was tasty with a nice spice that you taste and not overwhelming like some dishes. Was a busy time when I was there with 2 large party’s but was not made to feel in the way, the service was first class as the food was.

You must visit this award winning restaurant. The food is impeccable and heavenly the staff are the friendliest and most accommodating people. Service is always top notch. My favourite Indian restaurant highly recommend.

I have not dined in this restaurant, and I have missed out on so much. The service was great. They made sure I was satisfied, and I was. The waiters were very friendly and had good knowledge about the food. The atmosphere was excellent, and the other diners were so too. The best part of the food was delicious from starters to desert. The flavours of the food were out of this world. I would recommend everyone to try this place once, at least. I would come more often and I would like to thank the staff of the restaurant for making my dining pleasant experience once again.

Staff cannot do enough for you. Food first class. Would highly recomend this venue to others. airconditioned in summer. and warm and cozey in the winter.

The food was bland. No taste to any of the five dishes I ordered. Pilau rice was really soggy and the Bunah. It just tasted of tomato, with no real texture to it.The saag paneer had hardly no spinach and was all yellow with a creamy sauce.The only thing that was ok was the poppadoms. I’m not sure why the reviews were so good maybe people haven’t tried another locally, ie Bury or Brandon. I say this with confidence as we normally go to Bury for ours, but couldn’t this evening. There is so much better out there.

It’s been hard to find an Indian that is authentic and tastes amazing since we moved to this area but spice lounge knock it out the park everytime! The also have greats deals and customer service!

We have been eating at the spice lounge for many years now, and we have never had a bad meal. The service eating in and taking out is always excellent. The chicken passanda is the best!

Amazing food, first class service and great atmosphere. Cannot recommend enough.

Too sweet. Everything was really sugary with no other real flavour. I had the chef's special tikka masala which cost more than other items. it was very bland, no curry or spice flavour, just sweetness. Same with my partner's korma. I know a korma is supposed to be a sweeter type of curry, but this was just ridiculous, sweeter than custard. For the money I spent (£42.90) I expected better. Very disappointed. The poppadoms and plain naan were good.

Food experience was very nice and unique having trying unique dishes to what the restaurant gives out. Surprised by the amount of effort the chefs give out to express their talent, its so refreshing.

Ordered a takeaway and it was the most tasteless thing I’ve had. Lime Indian in Bury is 1000x better for a takeaway. I agree with another review that the buttermilk chicken is tasteless.

North Indian Garlic Chili Chicken was bang on the money. I really enjoyed it. Very knowledgeable and accommodating for allergies.

Been coming here for some time now. Travelled the world and you won’t find a better Jalfrezi. Superbly run and the hard working team deserve all the credit they get.

Ordered a few things. The chicken biryani lacked alot of flavour to me, the butter chicken was pretty decent, and the veggie curry lacked alot of flavour aswell. Also ordered both plain and spicy popadums, the spicy ones werent spicy at all, and ordered garlic and cheese nans, they came without the cheese, but were still good. Over all an ok experiance, you get a decent amount of food, but with the lack of flavour it didnt seem worth the money we paid.

Delicious food! Amazing curries, polite staff with outstanding table service. My only criticism is that the tables for 4 people are a little cramped once the food is served. Definitely on my go to again list and I would recommend you give it a try!

Me and my wife went here this evening, and what an amazing place this is . Firstly the greeting was warm and welcome from the polite and friendly staff as we were shown to our table. Straight away, we were having our drinks order taken and very quickly brought to our table . Then we ordered our meals and the flavours and aromas were absolutely amazing . I can see why they won the gold British curry awards and more. I would like to say a big thank you to all the staff and managers at this beautiful restaurant. I hope this review helps this fantastic restaurant.

Very clean and lovely staff. Very accommodating and go the extra mile to please. The food is very lovely, presentation lovely and enjoyable experience.

There's a reason they've won so many awards, did not dissappoint. Khan was the best waiter, very attentive.

Ordered a takeaway for ourselves and visiting family last night. Ordered online and was delivered quickly missing the mango chutney! (Oh no!!) Called spice and they offered to drive straight over no fuss and drop some off. Really appreciated as a few of us are mango chutney fans !!! Food was yummy. And service was great

Had takeaway from here before and it has been excellent every time. Decided to have a sit down meal for the first time and it was lovely. Definitely highly recommended.

Top class food, very good service, would recommend that you have to visit

First time take out for us from this restaurant as we like to support local businesses. The food was tasty and service good, but unfortunately all of the items we ordered were overcooked which included chicken, lamb and fish which spoilt it. Hopefully that was a one off but the restaurant should be made aware of this so that they can correct it. Not sure if the food was pre made and reheated which could have contributed to this. Will give it another try before drawing a line under it.

Last minute booking for dine-in, lucky to get a table as it was earlier in the evening. Food was lovely, spiced nicely and emphasis was on the flavour rather than spice for heat. Will definitely return.

One of the best Indian restaurants in the area. A mix of authentic and chef specials all served with quick and well looked after service. Cloth covered tables gives dining in an air of cleanliness and comfort. Our go to for Indian food without a doubt

Always lovely food, great staff and wonderful atmosphere.

Food was good, service was rather slow and unpersonal.

First time here as we were only staying in town overnight. Food was delicious and well presented (ansari & irangani). Staff friendly and attentive. There was a steady stream of people coming in for takeaways (good sign for a Tuesday evening). Based on this one visit we could see why this Restuarant has been the recipient of the various awards it has received over the years and would certainly look to make this a key place to visit to try other dishes off their extensive menu when we travel near here.

Great food brilliant service and staff

First time here. Food was amazing and very well presented. Best Indian cuisine I have had in a long time. Definitely will go back. My favorite thing was the Tandoori Lamb Chops. If you have never dined in an Indian restaurant, there is a bit of a fragrance inside the establishment that (in my opinion) enhances the dining experience.

Absolutely amazing food. Best curry in the area in good price!

I was here for the first time on Valentine's Day. The decorations and cozy atmosphere made us decide to spend a romantic evening here from the moment we entered. Even before ordering food, we were treated to a delicious set of sauces and huge tortilla-shaped snacks. Later we tried the starters, which were very tasty and aromatic. I'm almost full of them. When the main course was brought to us, I knew I wouldn't have room in my stomach for dessert. 😄 Everything was delicious, fresh and the friendly staff deserved a tip because they were really careful and conscientious. I recommend.

They recently achieved an awards so I thought let’s try with the lads , for Monday night they was packed I’m glad I booked our table for 6 of us .we had starters MIXED PLATERS AND CHOPS absolutely delicious. Main course signature dish for myself which was fab . Even though Very busy night service was first class. Towards the end they offered us a drink on the house which we was shocked how lovely they were . MY new favourite restaurant. Keep it up guys.

Our first experience of Spice Lounge tonight after waiting to dine in and my god it was worth the wait. Absolutely fantastic food, service and setting. Will recommend this to anyone. Chicken was beautifully tender and naan breads weren’t doughy, lovely with a slight crisp. Lovely people - was made to feel welcome from when we walked in. Will be back

Just had the best curry ever! so damn good! i'll never order from anywhere else period.

Fantastic food. My husband had Jeera. Never had it before and said it was the best curry he'd ever had! The guy's were all really lovely too. Just visiting the area so unfortunately we won't be able to return soon but would definitely recommend.

Always had good food but don’t touch the lamb chops with a barge pole such poor quality taught and chooy so disappointing couldn’t even finish it very disappointing

Amazing food!!! Amazing service!!! Lovely time here. Will and must return! My kids who are not very adventurous when it comes to food really liked it. There is no specifici kids menu but they liked the food much. Also, the prices are far reasonable for the quality and quantity of food and the service.

We travelled from Bedfordshire to attend the game and country fair how 25/09/21 and stayed over the night before .We needed somewhere to eat and found the Spice lounge and saw it reviews and awards and booked a table for 3.On arriving we were met by a very polite young man and he knew exactly how we had booked and how many for .This could be a much longer review full of praise but I would worry that who ever read's this gets bored so here it goes .Starters-phenomenal, prawns,Bhargi and poppadum's with dips. ,main meals-phenomenal all 3 different dishes and I had a dish never tried before (with honey) absolutely mind blowing. TRULY RESPECTFUL BANGLADESH STAFF THROUGHOUT, RIGHT THE WAY THROUGH TO THE CHEF.I CAN NOT PRAISE OUR VISIT HIGHLY ENOUGH OR THE PEOPLE THAT WORK HERE.WOW AND AMAZING REGARDS Jane, Eileen and Eamonn, thank you for a fantastic evening.

Amazing! Absolutely amazing! Seriously the best Indian food my family and I have eaten and we eat out at a lot of restaurants and enjoy many family take out's. Felt compelled to call the restaurant and tell them how brilliant it was and that's a first. We highly recommend. :)

I cannot express how great this place is for the food , I am Mildenhall local and we frequently dine there , and I can only say that the food gets better each time we visit . . been nominated for English curry awards 4 years in a row and best restaurant . a must visit

As you can see by my previous reviews, I enjoy a good curry. Tonight I indulged in a chicken pathia, mushroom rice, and a cheese nann. The taste on all of the dishes was clean and flavourful. I can throughly recommend this restaurant.

Good selection of dishes, spot on peshwari naan.

Food is always lush here so I ordered a takeaway that I had intended to have delivered. Turns out I accidentally ordered for collection!! The restaurant called me asking where I was as I didn't collect it, I explained I'd meant to order for delivery, apologised etc. Man on the phone was so polite and we arranged for them to deliver it when a driver was free. He then called me back to confirm my address and said he'd explained to the chef who was making me a fresh meal! Excellent customer service and top quality food

Ordered a takeaway this evening. Had read the good reviews and we were looking forward to our curry. Sadly the Korma was very watery and chicken was very chewy. The tikka masala sauce was okay, but again the meat was quite chewy. Not sure if we were just unlucky tonight as the reviews seem very positive.

Please see pictures….We ordered food via the spice lounge APP on my phone. Sadly both times I’ve order via app spice lounge have messed up and missed DELIVERY! There is a fault with your app yet you take this out on your paying customers!!!First time (30-04-2021) happened I got a phone call to explain that I needed to add this in the comments I said I did he said yes you have sorry my mistake food was delivered wasn’t very hot. Anyway so we ordered again on the (09-07-2021) so a few months later hence my review today this is what happened…..So yet again I click delivery and I put in comments delivery cash as you can clearly see in photos as I did before!! No food after nearly an hour and a really rude conversation via phone. I was Told that I better pay I have always paid for deliveries, the man on phone also said he’s now bringing it to my house after informing me it has been sat under the heat lamps for 25/30mins! Please be careful with this takeaway this is not fair. I didn’t even get an apology but yet wanted spice lounge still wanted to deliver my food to me??? But yet he was saying that he missed the “note” Yet I was meant to collect it so totally messed up again! Anyway a simple apology and to give us fresh food but was told I’ll get old food off the hot plate so I said don’t bother and ordered from another Indian which was lovely and hot and a lot better service! This is not acceptable for a take-away this could be dangerous to eat and could made us really poorly! I have worked in hospitality, 5* hotels may I add, for many years. This kind of behaviour I think people should be aware off. I sadly will not recommend spice lounge in mildenhall and make sure people are fully aware of your behaviour you give paying customers and think it’s NOT acceptable to bully and try give old food to people when it was your mistake! Such a shame to write this as we loved your food but sadly we pay for it and that comes with customer service which I won’t be paying for any longer so best of luck!

My friend and I visited tonight service and food fabulous, I am coeliac our waiter told me which I could have and not I had a milyayia curry with garlic rice was lovely really enjoyed it

We discovered this wonderful restaurant whilst on holiday in the nearby hotel. What a great discovery! The food was one of the best curries ever and the excellent service made this a very special experience.

I've missed this place so much during this awful past year. I know they did takeaways, and they're great, but no substitute for sitting in. It's great to go there tonight, the staff are fantastic, so friendly and attentive. The food is fabulous, just had a fantastic, flavoursome Naga curry. This is the place to go for great food, atmosphere and service.

Lovely atmosphere, the staff were lovely and the food is delicious, it's our favourite curry house. We can't wait to come back soon!

Delicious, fresh tasting food and great customer service.

Had delivery twice and it's been fantastic! We're not Indian food lovers but the baby in the belly craves it and certainly approves! He said more Indian mama but Mr budget can't do it every night so I have had to ration haha. First time I called and almost shutting time but they were super nice and recommended some food for a complete novice Indian eater. The service was also fab as I told them not to knock in case they wake the toddler and I just waited for them and watched out the window. Price is reasonable, again novice Indian eater not really sure the price range but a main a rice and a naan will be just around £15 enough to qualify the local delivery. Ordered second time online and food is still great, as well as service - on the receipt was written AND highlighted DON'T KNOCK - again cos I wrote a note on the online order. Thought that was hilarious and really appreciate their personal touch. Will be making the our local Indian joint until baby says otherwise!

The takeaway last night was amazing. Chicken was the most tender I had in a long time. Defo will use this place again when in the area.

The Naan was great. The consistency of the curry was our main issue.

Always very good food. When they say spicy, they mean spicy - avoid spicy food if you can't handle the heat. Popadoms are great, sauces are great. Chicken and veggie dishes are all good. The only thing on the menu we take a pass on is the naan - not enough salt, kinda soggy. Overall, one of our favorite places to eat and great delivery!

The team at the Spice Lounge are always amazing and the food is fantastic, but they surpassed themselves this Christmas when they delivered a takeaway to us, out of their normal delivery area, late on Christmas Eve so me and my family could have it the next day for our Christmas dinner. The service was amazing and it was the best Christmas dinner I have ever had! I can't recommend Spice Lounge highly enough.

Saddenfed by the fact I can't fly away for Christmas as usual I decided self medication was the answer and took myself to the fabulous Spice Lounge Mildenhall, where a dose of the fantastic Chicken Ansari and a cheeky glass of red winedid the trick. Seriously folks you must try this Award Winning Restaurant. The food is fabulous, full of flavour and good portions and the staff and atmosphere are wonderful. There's never been a greater need to support your local businesses so give this place a try.

Once again a fantastic Takeaway Delivery from Spice Lounge. I tend to order once a week from these guys usually on a friday Evening. The dishes are exceptional and very Tasty. Many thanks for the Xmas Card and Bottle of wine, amazing touch!! Delivery drivers are friendly and always on time or even bit early which is great. Wish you all the best for 2021 and thanks for your amazing service and generosity.

Consistently good food and service.

I've had Indian cuisine in a few countries, but Spice Lounge in Mildenhall is the best I've had in England. The food and service both are excellent and you'll be hard pressed to find better anywhere else. If you happen to find yourself passing by 5 ways roundabout on A11, make a point of stopping by and experience Indian cuisine at it's best. I keep coming back for more like a moth to a flame.
