Spice Hut in South Northamptonshire

If still isn’t here after 1.5 hrs- I have phoned 3 times and they said no driver and hung up on me. Appalling

Very average Indian. The dishes were very greasy and mostly vegetables. The Okra in particular was poor - very mushy.

Delivery was late, the driver couldn’t find the doorbell when he arrived even though it’s right next to the door. The biriyani had an omelette and potatoes in it. The rogan josh was 6 small pieces of meat and about 10 chunks of tomato. The food was not tasty at all, very bland.

Once again outstanding food and service! Food piping hot and delicious.

Unfortunately on this occasion the quality of the food was not up to its usual standard. Watery curry, about 3 prawns in another dish. Request for masala sauce ignored.

Just ordered from The Spice Hut again - I keep coming back to them. We have a lot of Indian restaurants locally and I have tried many. But for the few years since I started ordering from them, The Spice Hut outshine them all, for value for money, delicious food, friendly staff and variety. Their Chicken Shatkora is one of my favourites, but every dish I've tried in the chefs recommendations section have been delicious.

Fantastic tasty food as always ... well done

This is usually my favourite Takeout, unfortunately tonight the food was quite poor compared to what it is usually like. I’m not sure if there is a different chef during the week versus the weekend? But tonight the food was very bland. My chicken tikka Bhuna didn’t taste anything like what a bhuna is meant to taste like! The chicken tikka tasted chewy and old. The sauce was very very bland and didn’t have any peppers. The onion baji was very oily. The chicken tikka main dish tasted like it had been microwaved. I feel bad leaving this review as the food is usually amazing! I’m hoping it was just an off night and will try them again one more time.

OMG I live In Stony were there are LOADS of Indians so do not often venture out for a curry. BUT I've been totally swayed. This was quite possibly the best Indian I've had in a LONG time. Staff are amazing, and the food was utterly amazing, even something as simple as the mushroom rice was full of flavour and delicious. I would highly recommend this place, their deal on sundays is amazing, 10.95 for starters, main,rice or naan and a side before 5 AND you can re order lol

We having been going for a while now and found, even the buffet on a Sunday is the same standard as a normal night!! Few things iv never had before with a twist, very flavoursome!! staff are also very friendly and helpful, and its beautifully clean, with sanitiser and space in place. From the outside it looks fairly ordinary, but try it as its a lovely little restaurant!

Unfortunately the vegetable vindaloo had loads of mushrooms in it despite putting a clear note on the order. Unfortunately it had to be thrown away as my daughter can not eat mushrooms. Rang the restaurant who said a refund would be given through this site

We have never had a bad meal here, staff are always friendly and efficient. Food is amazing and never disappoints. Would recommend and don’t be put off by the outside. Step in and enjoy.

Quoted 40min for delivery, actual delivery around 1hr 30. If you are busy then quote a realistic delivery time up front so people can make an informed choice, don't extend the order time after they have ordered

Outstanding food, odd location. Incredibly good food with very attentive service. It really is an odd location and building but well worth ignoring all that because of the quality of the food.

Visited with family (one of whom is Indian) on the basis of its above-average TripAdvisor reviews. Location is not promising - it appears to be an ex-Little Chef or Happy Eater next to filling station on a stretch of A-road about three miles outside the north-western sectors of Milton Keynes. But please don't let that put you off!We had Sunday lunch for a fixed £10.95 per head (half price for kids). It was billed as a 'buffet' but wasn't one in the traditional sense - there were no dishes out on warming trays, no drying-out meats, curdling curries or skinning-over sauces. Instead you order what you want from a generous menu of all the "usual suspects" of northern Indian cuisine - tandooris, biryianis, curries etc - together with starters, vegetable sides and rice/naan etc. Then there's a short wait while it's freshly cooked (with the accent on freshly - it was clear to us from the bright flavours that nothing had been hanging about in the kitchen). Then you eat what's brought to you. And when you finish, you're invited to order further dishes - a fair and clever concept (not to mention environmentally friendly and ethical) that allows people to experiment and share dishes but prevents needless food wastage and outright greed by eyes-bigger-than-belly customers.Four of us had different starters, all excellent - bhajis, sheek kebab, samosas etc. Pappadums/pickles are extra but frankly you don't need them. All our starters were nicely presented and well seasoned, with thoughtful and tasty extras like fried onion and pepper strips with the juicy sheek kebabs.Our mains were a mix of chicken and lamb dishes, some from the tandoor. Meat was perfectly cooked, properly spiced and tender. Sides were good, the Peshwari naan outstanding.Drinks, desserts and coffee/tea are all extra but we walked away with a bill of just £63 including service for four adults (including three desserts and a coffee), reflecting the fact that beer and soft drinks are not heavily marked up to offset the low all-in lunch price.The room is bright, clean and stylish with a modern Indian vibe. Staff are professional, efficient and friendly. There were other Asian customers, too, so I'd guess the cooking is pretty authentic. And it's child-friendly - we had a two-year-old and a baby of six months with us, whose buggies they were pleased to accommodate, and there were other families with kids there.All in all, a very satisfying experience at a very reasonable price. We all agreed that we'd happily return, either for the non-buffet 'Sunday buffet lunch' or an a la carte evening meal.

The food is really very very good. I rarely eat anything but prawns or chicken in an Indian but this restaurant serves the best lamb dishes. All the food is freshly cooked, you can really tell the difference. The service is first rate, a nice atmosphere in the restaurant too. The chicken and lamb rezalla is very good but I haven’t had a bad meal ever since eating here after finding this restaurant by accident. The ingredients listed are actually what is in the dishes too. Once you have tried this place you won’t go anywhere else. I used to take advantage of their delivery service but now live out of the area but still go once a week to collect my takeaway. I have spent many years eating Indian food all over the country and this is one of the best if not the best ever.

If you find yourself on the Buckingham side of Deanshanger on the A422 & you're hungry, try 'The Spice Hut'...We had the buffet option here & the food was beautiful & cooked to your own personal preference.prices very reasonable too.staff were lovely & helpful.only one downnside: tables are a bit small when loaded with all the dishes definatly try the spice hut, I have a feeling you won't be disappointed.

We have eaten here at least a dozen times since March this year, mostly Sunday lunch buffet but also Sunday evening buffet and Wednesday evening banquet. It is a waitered service at all times. All of the staff are absolutely lovely and make you feel very welcome. The restaurant is spotlessly clean, fresh & air conditioned, the seating is comfortable and it is a very nice relaxed place to be in.As for the food, well I have eaten in many Indian restaurants up and down the country and I can honestly say that Spice Hut serve the very best. Every dish is fresh, piping hot and has a texture, consistency and depth of flavour that I have not experienced anywhere else and my wife and our friend agree too. The food is all of exceptional quality and at buffet & banquet prices represents phenomenal value for money. On the Wednesday evening banquet you order from the main menu.So I hear you ask, is it really that good, well when I tell you that we live 27 miles away and go as often as we can around my shift work, then yes as it more than worth every penny and every second of the journey too.I am a very fussy vegetarian,very hard to please with any cuisine but no problem here. My personal favourite is a vegetable Dhansak with no mushrooms, with a pineapple rice, my wife likes to order something different each time and our friend is addicted to their chicken tikka masala.In summary, great people, great place, great food, exceptional value and I cannot praise them highly enough.

The staff were mostly pleasant, the restaurant was very nice, clean and good Indian decor. The food was nice but not the best in the area as it was cheap meat and a bit greasy for my liking.

This is a very good Indian restaurant, good value for money. Good portion sizes. The food is very tasty. My favourite is the starter king prawn on purée. I am really fussy about meat at Indian restaurants but the chicken is breast meat, and the lamb very tender. The service excellent. Really worth a try, if like me you like authentic fresh Indian food then you will keep going back.

This curry house is in such a random (and not great) location but that shouldn't let it stop you visiting. It is so good! It's a large and clean restaurant. All the staff are so happy and friendly. The food is delicious, reasonably priced and good portion sizes.. Sunday buffet, 9.95 before 5 and 12.95 after. Starter, main, side, rice or naan, coffee or ice cream!!!!

Coming from Buckingham, I am not spoiled for choice with Indian restaurants but the reviews deserved a look at this place. We went on a Wednesday without knowing about the offer and were pleasantly surprised by a mainly full restaurant.

Yet another lovely meal. Staff so friendly. Food is just so flavoursome and doesn’t kill your taste buds. For me it beats all the Indian restaurants in Stony Stratford, closest was Naidni for flavour

Another tasty buffet dinner at the spice hut. Can’t go wrong for food and price and service! £12 for starter, main and side and rice/ naan. I still stand on the opinion that this is the best place for a curry (taste wise) - better then all the stony Stratford choices. I would recommended for meal in or take away.

I went with a group of friends. We had popadums, a couple of shared platters (just right between 8 of us) and various mains. I had the tandoori king prawns with shared rice and naan, all yummy - the same verdict around the table. The restaurant was not particularly busy with in-house diners but they were clearly reasonably busy with take-aways. The service was friendly and very efficient. A very enjoyable meal in comfortable surroundings. I've had take-away from here which was equally good.

There aren't many indian restaurants offering a table a la carte buffet so decided to try this one, as it has got good reviews. I must say we were not disappointed. The service in particular from whom I assume was either the owner or the manager was excellent from start to finish. The food was good and of course the fact that you can order and reorder as much as you like makes it great value. The decor in particular is very nice with unique lighting and pictures on the wall and overall the entire place was very clean. Good free parking right outside the building as well which is always handy.

Reviews were good so I took the plunge! Not very good, bland, watery and flavourless. Popadums were ok though.

Great flavour, service and quality

Visited the Spice Hut for a belated birthday celebration and it was the best Indian I have had in a very long time! I was spoilt for choice looking at the menu however after a recommendation from one of the managers, I decided to try out a new dish, Bombay Chicken which didn’t disappoint! Every dish we ordered was cooked to perfection, and the service we received from all staff there was brilliant, they are extremely friendly and engaging and you can’t beat it. Definitely would recommend this restaurant to everyone!

We met up with family at midday on a Sunday to try the Sunday Buffet and were not disappointed. Food was good for everyone, portions were ample and the service was great. Our boys 7&8 enjoyed the food and were very happy with the free WIFI and the ice cream desert. We were in there for 2 hours but it didn't feel that long. Will definitely be going back at some point.

This was a random selection on my part with friends and I wasn't disappointed! Lovely and welcoming and happy to help! Very reasonable and massive portions! I was full after my starter!!! I did have an issue with my starter but they were very quick to rectify this for me. Highly recommended.

The Spice Hut is simply the best Indian food in the area. The food is out of this world, the staff are extremely friendly and welcoming and the restaurant is very clean. The Sunday Buffet is the best value and quality of any restaurant I have been to. It could easily be double the price and still represent amazing value for money.

Their Christmas day meal was out of this world. It was so good we have booked for 2019. I would also highly recommend their Sunday buffets as well. Thank you guys.

We visit here regularly and I don't think you'll ever find a better Indian to best it the food is always amazing never had any issues. The staff are really friendly and always take the time to say hello yes sometimes service is a little slow but with such great food you really can't complain we will continue to come here for years to come that's for sure

5* service from the time we walked through the door by the extremely welcoming and informative host. This is without doubt the best Buffett I've been to. It was that good I was planning my next visit before I finished the starter. The only think this restaurant has got wrong is the pricing....£9.95??? I'd expect to pay £25+ for this standard of service and food and that's before any 20% tip. So to all those thinking of attending, don't waste your time thinking, get down there and enjoy the incredible food and environment created by a 1st class host.

tried these out for a takeaway and ending getting 30% of the bill at the end of the online order, it was so much it nearly put me off. 20% for ordering online and extra 10% for first online order. went to collect in the time given and it was just coming out of the kitchen, good start, they also gave me 2 free popadoms. the food was excellent, could not fault it, had the chicken tikka starter, which had a nice size side salad and sauce with it and the main course a lamb rogan with pilau rice and garlic nan which was piping hot.

We first used them thanks to a recommendation & am happy to do the same. Would highly recommend a visit if you enjoy a good indian meal. You certainly won't be disappointed.

I have driven past this place so many times and to be fair have been put off by its location, which is behind a Petrol Station and on a very busy road! Just shows first impressions are not always right.

Good hot tasty food delivered early

Have popped in where on the way home from Swindon.. tonight to a special trip from home in Newport Pagnell.. we have a lot Indian in NP, and we have our favourite. But this just different, more Bangladesh. Well worth the trip out to the country..

We have driven past this restaurant so many times before wondering what it was like. Lovely meal and very attentive & friendly waiters. Due to its remote location they won’t get many people just dropping by. Shame as it really isn’t far from Stony Stratford. We shall definitely be returning.
