Wow 😊 fantastic food! Lovely atmosphere with very friendly staff, catered to my personal taste. Well worth 5 stars! Will be going again very soon, probably next week 😁 and the week after, and the week after!! 😊😊😊 Still as good as ever!! 😋😋😋😁😁😁

This premises was not open today at 12.30. Very disappointing. Could return , but not too enthusiastic if it's info is unreliable. Went here today because a Friend recommended the grilled tandoori.

Everyone I take here loves this place. It seems to have been here for ever and was in fact established over 40 years ago. It can be busy, even on a week night, so it is best to book. Great food and good prices. No bar so take your own choice of drink. They do have soft drinks.

Have been coming here for 10+ years with family. Lovely food. Great atmosphere as always. BYO makes it all the better.

As with all experiences sometimes they just don't go to plan. Tried a dish of the Goan section, the sauce was lovely however the chicken just wasn't right. Explained this at the end of the meal and the staff were very shocked. Instead of apologizing and accepting that sometimes food doesn't turn out as it should do. I went to the counter to pay to cause less disruption in the restaurant but they still weren't really having it. We did settle on a resolution. Hopefully my experience was a one off and the staff learn how to improve their service.

We love this Indian restaurant. Such friendly staff & superb food. A fantastic stop on our journey from Surrey. This place is a must if you staying or visiting the area. Bring your own alcohol too.

The food continues to excel, this is the place to go for an "Indian" [subcontinent] taste experience on the South Coast. It's also quite economical due to their BYOB policy.

Had a horrible experience last night all because of their driver who couldn't do his job properly and told me to ring the restaurant spice cottage in Emsworth and to get a refund I had to chase his car to stop him keeping my food!! I have spent thousands here In the years that have gone by and I am in two minds about coming back to this establishment

Food can be very hit and miss.if delivered it can get cold sometimes.iv had some nice meals from here and iv also had some not so nice meals and quite expensive

Tuesday buffet is great value but you need to book early to get a table. They do not sell alcohol but you are welcome to bring your own for no charge. They will even provide glasses for your wine.

This was our first time at Spice Cottage. The food was amazing. Compliments to the chef. The staff were very attentive. We will be back very soon.

We decided to try the Tuesday taster night and what a great decision that was. A fantastic array of 5 curries, rice, naan,poppadums which arrived after a starter. All delicious and such great value. Always friendly, helpful staff. Excellent.

Been to Spice Cottage a few times now, and they never disappoint! It's well worth the drive, and excellent value for money. All round great experience and a fantastic atmosphere. The staff are so friendly and nothing is too much to ask. I can't rate them highly enough.

What a great place. Such a friendly atmosphere, the staff enjoy a good time alongside customers, whilst still keeping service excellent. Price's are good & as they don't hold a licence, you bring your own drink (from the Co-Op or pub across the road). No rushing you out the door when you've finished, just relaxed.

It was really lovely, the waitresses were really nice and the food tasted amazing. It was very posh and fancy but really lovely people and lovely atmosphere. We booked and it wasn't too busy at all, maybe one or two other tables being used. They do take out and dine in. Really recommend, great curry place.

Had high expectations for this place, however the food was very average, so it was quite disappointing. There was also a very limited amount of vegetarian dishes available (apart from side dishes) When the bill arrived it was completely illegible, so we didn’t actually know whether what we were paying was correct.

Lovely ambience in this village restaurant that has been here for 25 years. The food is delicious and there is something on the menu for everyone. Aziz the owner made a lovely fuss of my mum and nothing was too much trouble. Bring Your Own alcohol, if you forget, there is a Coop 30 seconds away.

We often eat here and felt it only right to put up a review after all these years. Food is always excellent along with the attentive service. On a hot night too it is worth a visit as they have aircon. Would highly recommend a visit. Eat in or takeaway you won't be disappointed!

Tuesday night is the best night mixed set menu

Such great food and a warm welcome. Lovely staff there. Very attentive and smiling. Although they were busy last night they found a table for me and my daughter. We hadn't booked. Didn't expect it to be so busy during the week. So will book next time. Well worth a visit. We took our own drink as they don't have a licence for alcohol. Makes it a cheap night. Good value. We quite often have take away from there and can recommend that as well.

We have been customers of Spice Cottage for 4yrs and always found them really friendly and the food consistently amazing. Well, that has changed this evening. We ordered at 19:05, where I was told it would be 1hr 15 for delivery. When it still hadn’t arrived at 20:42, I called them. I asked if my order was on its way and after a short pause, the staff member returned to my call saying it was going to be another 10-15 minutes. I apologised and said this was too late and wanted a refund. This was refused an I was told it would just be 10 minutes. Again, I apologised and said it was too late for us to eat and wanted a refund. Same answer, followed by ‘thank you, goodbye’. I protested and stopped the call from ending and asked why he was going to put the phone down on me. This pattern continued and I asked to speak to the manager - to which I was told he was the manager and I just had to wait another 10 minutes - I got the ‘thank you goodbye’ again and the call ended!! Arrived at 21:00. The delivery lady was very apologetic and was surprised by the event and offered me some vouchers. We didn’t feel like eating curry at 21:00. Spice Cottage - you really let us down tonight. 😒

We were staying locally & got recommended to visit Spice Cottage. We were very pleased we did & enjoyed a delicious meal. The service was excellent & the quality of the food superb and very flavoursome. They don’t have an alcohol license, so they are happy for you to bring your own drinks with no corkage charges. They provide glasses & a range of soft drinks. Thoroughly enjoyed our evening and next time we are in the area we will be visiting again.

We were very impressed with Spice Cottage. Good quality food, freshly prepared, varied menu, friendly service. We went on a Friday evening when the restaurant was full and doing a busy takeaway trade. That must be a good sign. They don't sell alcohol but are happy for people to bring own drinks and don't charge any extra. We will definitely be coming back.

Rare meal out meeting new friends. Very loud here so be prepared. Food was average at best and smallish portions. with a tuff cooked lamb suganda and a toxic looking bright red chicken tikka …fortunately the conversation went down better. Having been there for an appropriate time and after we had added a collective large tip, a young male waiter came up saying (not asking) ‘we need your table now’…shortly followed by ‘leave’. We were not in alcohol, loud or in anyway deserving of this abrupt absolutely rude manner. Leave I did and I wont go back. A hive of get them in get them out money goal.

Just had a meal at Spice Cottage. Good food, good host, good value. Who could ask for more!!!!!

Ordered a lamb vindaloo, worse curry I have ever had. Lamb was so dry, it required a steak knife to cut through. Do not bother with salad, they charge £2.50 for a foil tin filled with lettuce with a slice of tomato and cucumber that sits on top and several peas scattered around.

Great Indian restaurant, eat in or take away the food is consistently good! Their delivery service is quick and efficient with food arriving piping hot and as good as eating in. Eating in though is the thing to do, and saves you washing up! Azii is your main man in the restaurant and nothing is too much trouble! It BYO booze and he will keep it refrigerated if needed. I am a chicken madras man, and they do it so well, tender chicken and well spiced. Azii is keen to get you to try his recommendations and often will let you have smaller portions so you can try something new! King prawn Jalfrezi is excellent too! And they know how to cook a nann bread, crispy base and fluffy bubbly top! The restaurant has recently been tastefully refurbished, and is always clean to the highest standards! This family run restaurant always delivers on quality and is great value for money !!

From the warm welcome to the food, everything was 1st class, we are only staying in Portsmouth overnight and fancied something different, I just wish they was more local! so I can have a decent meal closer, a very big thank you for a lovely meal to all.

Ordered a takeaway this weekend , and as before quality of food coupled with great service is the best in the area. Don’t be confused by the Indian with a similar name in Emsworth which is not a patch on this Westbourne establishment. Can’t wait...

On Thursday I telephoned the spice cottage and asked if I call and order a meal to be delivered that a set time could they do it. The gentlemen said yes call early and order your food and give us plenty of time. On Friday...

Always excellent food either for delivery, collection or eating in. The Naga chicken is excellent, loved the tarka Dahl I had recently, tried the tandoori fish and loved it. The staff polite and efficient, it's pricey but worth it.

If a curry could sum up 2020 this would be it... Ordered a takeaway for our Christmas eve meal and feel totally disappointed, easily the worst chicken korma I have ever tasted my plate was literally filled with water , the poppadoms tasted like they were cooked in the same oil that they would have used last Christmas eve!!!. Safe to say most of it went in the bin .

Phoned to order takeaway, was told would be 1 hour 15 to 1 hour 30 to deliver. Phoned after hour & 40 mins to be told it was with the driver then after nearly another hour phoned to be told the order hadn't even been done yet.

What an awful meal, ordered a Takeaway sadly what I got wasn't what I ordered, which of course wasn't discovered until I reached home. Had I lived closer I would have taken it back. I emailed them as I couldn't get through by phone and...

Lovely food friendly and accommodating staff very enjoyable evening

Excellent food. We've not eaten in, but on each occasion that we've picked up a takeaway it has far exceeded expectations - and the appetites of those sharing the meal. The portions are a good size and we've yet to order anything that is not of a very high standard. As Spice Cottage is conveniently situated on our route to my elderly mother's home and can be relied upon to have the meal ready when we arrive will not be bothering to go elsewhere! And., hey, Mum gets to eat the leftovers too 😊

Lovely Chicken Gujerati, pilau rice and plain naan. The waiter nearly dropped the curry and it landed heavily on the table. When I got home realised I had several splashed curry marks on my top. The stains are not coming out.
