The food here is delicious. Lovely and hot. The wine is also great My only issue is I asked for a started to come out with my husband main meal My starter was £5.45 but the charged me £11.95 as the treated and served it as a main. I only wanted the starter size. This was not communicated The meal was lovely too much really Just as well I could afford to pay it.

Service was ok - nothing special. Food was bland despite asking for it to be made spicier than normal. Worst part: over charged by £20 because someone couldn't add up. CHECK YOUR BILLS!

The tandoori mix grill was possibly the finest Indian meal I have ever had and my wife loved her king prawn tawali 10/10 great people and wonderful food we can’t wait to go back at the weekend.😊😉

We were served our meal by Surab, his service was just fab. We ordered some cold beers and gave a BIG cheers.🍻 Then poppadoms and dips, these were much better than chips. Starter of chicken chat, this will definitely not make us fat. A tasty main dish of creamy lamb which should have been washed down with a wee dram. Fit to bust but still felt alive, this was all thanks to the great meal at Spice 45.

Very friendly, great advice and lovely food. Don't be put off by the outside, as we nearly drove by, the inside, is done out nice & modern.

Absolutely disgusting , the food is the worst meal I have ever experienced, in a restaurant dry , tasteless, salad was brown , like it hadn’t been washed or left on side , the mix grill omg there’s no words to describe pls do not waste your money , very rude , ignorant … Lidl jar would be a 100% better way ….. do not waste your hard earned money , very very disappointing

We visited with friends on a Saturday evening - from the outside my heart sank - no kerb appeal - weeds around the building -old torn stickers of past achievement and accredition in the far from clean windows limited exterior signs - did not look great - but car park was full - so that was a good sign. Rather brusk welcome - interior was smart and clean - orders taken efficiently. Food arrived in good time and I have to say was really good. The waiters became more relaxed as the evening went on. £ 112 for 4 people - that included 4 x cobras and a bottle of wine - not bad. Hands shakes on leaving. I do think some exterior spruce up would pay dividends and look like someone cared - and some gentle background music to add a little atmosphere to an otherwise clinical ( which I had no issue with ) interior - most importantly though food was good and front of house premises and toilets were clean. Can recommend - you can't always judge a book by its cover.

Visited on a Saturday night with friends to celebrate a birthday and am pleased to say that our experience was absolutely great. All of the staff were friendly and helpful providing attentive service throughout our meal. Questions asked were politely answered and suggestions about what to order were gladly given. None of us are experts on Indian cuisine but everything we ordered was absolutely delicious, served promptly and with more than adequate portion sizes. For us definitely a 5 star experience and highly recommended.

Overall the Takeaway was nice. Took a lot longer than told on the phone to have delivery, was told 45 minutes and it took 1hr 10 minutes. The Naan breads while small were tasty. My Lamb Kudoo was very nice, I was expecting there to be more chunks of the butternut than the lamb but I was wrong, nice tender meat was plentiful in the dish and the sauce was pretty thick. We also had a Butter chicken which I am told was also pretty good, the Chicken Korma was milder than mild, quite bland its what my friend usually orders when we have Indian food and she said there wasnt much taste, which was a shame because the rest was nice. Also had the popadoms and pickle tray. Average price nowadays about £9 for a main dish.

Having recently tried Cardamom lounge, Dine India , Dipali and spice of India (all of which we have previously used and enjoyed), Spice 45 have provided us with the best curry for well over a year. The saying is ‘you pay for quality’ and whilst that may be true here, the food was exceptional. Will 100% be using again

Aldi Jar Tasted Better… really disappointing I do think there’s new chefs?! Food was watery. The pickle tray is watered down. Chicken was rushed Food came early. Not coming again.

Food was very nice. Service was horrendous. Once seated, had to grab our own menus. We had to try and grab someone for us to order. We didnt get our mains until 2 hours after arriving. They seem to prioritise takeaways over their dine in customers.

Great food, good service and as it was a Tuesday evening we were the only three in there but still very enjoyable. I have dined many times at Spice 45 and will again in the future.

Worst food in Leicester. Ordered 3 curries, naan, chapati, biryani and all were awful taste. Also, delivered late!

Quite simply the worst Indian meal I have eaten in my life. Bland beyond belief, watery sauces, no flavour just a bit of heat. Grim, do not waste your cash.

Had take away. Very varied taste buds in the family - two had same curry =spice 45 special one hot and one medium. Both found it was at spice level they liked. Would recommend as takeaway as not had sit down meal (yet).

Delicious food, great service and atmosphere.

Thought we'd try out Spice 45 because our usual restaurant up the road hasnt done very well in the food hygiene stakes recently. Booked our table for 7pm Friday night, walked in to find we were pretty much the only ones there. Waiters were friendly and had a bit of banter, food was OK, nothing special but nice enough. The thing really that reflects the 3 stars is the atmosphere. There wasn't any. No Indian music playing, no hustle and bustle of other people, just very very quiet. Even when we left just before 9pm the place was still empty. I would deffo go here again but would have liked a bit more of the traditional curry house experience.

Don’t waste your money on a take away. Watered down chutney & mint sauce, a tiny salad portion for 3, chicken was dry & overcooked, sauces were watery & tasteless & Naan bread was doughy & tasteless.

Ordered Paneer Tikka Masala which was so disappointing- full of coconut and artificial colouring- no authenticity whatsoever- should have given 0 star

Customer service dire…the Manager is rude and unhelpful . We waited 1 1/2 hours for our meal , it took 45 mins before they even took our order which then took another hour ! We should have walked out . When I questioned the Manager he said it was a Saturday night ! …no apology from him …also as we sat we noticed they seem to be more interested in sending out takeaways than in serving their in house customers ..DO NOT GO .

I gave this restaurant a second chance as the last order was missing naans. This time missing a whole dish. Called them explained and they put the phone down. Called again - same male said “take it up with just eat”, we are busy and put the phone down. Cannot understand such poor Service!

We came here because our first choice was fully booked… starters was the veg platter for over £8 for 2…consisted of of 2 mini samosas, 2 mini onion bhaji’s and the Aloo chat which was really veg soup minus the peas and carrots. Mains wasn’t the best, I ordered a garlic chilli chicken and naan. The Balti tasted non chilli or garlic and was more tomato and onions.. the naan was clearly not freshly made and doughy…clearly a packet job. We then tried to feed this back to Ali, his attitude was horrible and confrontational. He tried to take me to the kitchen to show his tandoor oven and then decided to become aggressive and ask another table if their food was okay? I went to speak to him at the bar to explain that we weren’t rude and the way he spoke to us was horrible.. my girlfriend, who actually liked her food didn’t have the choice of having it put in a doggy bag… Ali then shouted at us as we were leaving, “you’re not welcome here again!” Don’t worry I’d rather eat a bag of cold chips, more tastier!! Avoid avoid avoid!!!!

Never in my life have I experienced such abysmal customer service from the so called manager ‘Ali’. Just return from the restaurant, terrible attitude from the waiter and the manager when we complained about the quality of some of the food. My partner, with whom I was dining, is Sikh and therefore has a discerning palate regarding Indian cuisine and equestioned the authenticity of the naan bread. Ali promptly removed all of the food from the table and became extremely defensive and rude and ended up with an unpleasant confrontation. I am absolutely disgusted with the whole experience and hope that they never treat another customer the way that we were treated tonight !!!

Been using spice 45 for a year or so now, starting due to uber eats deals, it was hit and miss at first as we got used to the menu. But now we've found our favourites its spot on every time, the chef is great and will tweak your dishes to your liking too, prices very good and delivery rapid.

Awful service when had a Lyn issue with a takeaway delivery, simply couldn’t care less.

Have used this resteraunt since moving into the area and today ordered a takeaway had a call to pay extra for a curry I had ordered and was shocked at how rude and obnoxious the guy was on the phone please remember it is your customers that keep you in business going Hungary is probably a better choice I will never use you again

Where do i begin.... ok if you are used to good indian food at home do not expect it here. The food is very bland compared to normal indian food. I feel like this place is aimed at people who do not know what proper indian food tastes like. On a side note when i visited this place it took them 25 mins just to take my drinks order then 15 mins for food. Like i said before it was bland not ment for indians. Also when i took a doggy bag home they mixed both curries in one container...im sorry are you thick? By doing this you are mixing both flavours...and this was the manager!!!! I gave it two stars only because yhe sizzler tasted ok and was not that bad. If you want a proper indain go to martin inn or broad way. Even 147 does better food than this place. I will not be going here again!!!!!

I have eaten at the restaurant and had take-aways for years. I have seen negative reviews and my experiences are so, so different. I've seen reviews where in take-aways the Naans are great and the curry are awful - don't get that as you just can't get as good a naan in a takeaway but hey, each to their own. My experiences have always been positive - even on the very rare occasion when there has been a problem it has been rectified. I have tried just about every dish and can honestly say there are few I would not re-order. If you like it hot try the Lamb Naga or chicken rezalla. If you like it mild the Lamb tikka masala, or medium the aloo gosht or lamb bhuna. Bear in mind, if you order at a busy time they will have a LOT of orders and it may take time. Honestly, never had a bad curry. I always order direct though.

Wow! Just wow! First time weve tried this restaurant & its my new favourite! All my requests were done with no problems and the paneer is the most delicious I have EVER tried! Amazing! I even called the restaurant after we ate to say how amazing the food was & compliments to the chefs. Delivered in good time too. Thank you spice 45 team! 🍛

Ordered meal through Uber eats said delivery would be 1 1/2 hrs waited and waited no delivery went back on app to see progress, order had been cancelled by them but didn’t bother to let us know!!!! Terrible customer service

Ordered takeaway online Message said collect in 75minutes. Arrived on Tim only to be told that the machine hadn’t printed my order. Young girl behind the counter hand wrote it and took it to the kitchen. 15 minutes later food arrived. Chilli mushrooms that came with some salad that looked as though it had wilted a couple of days ago. That went straight into the bin. Mushrooms soon followed. Went to the main and plain naan Chilli chicken and rice. Chicken was Luke warm at best and chewy. The sauce was very watery and had a sweet after taste, not a pleasant one either. Needless to say that followed the starter into the bin. The naan bread was supposed to be just a bog standard plain one. It was oranges on top and burnt underneath and like trying to rip thick cardboard and impossible to chew. I did try but it tasted like cooking fat that has been used beyond endurance and also had the same weird flavour that the sauce for the main had. Maybe I just caught them on a bad day. You have to decide for yourself if you get food from there.

Had a takeaway on 16 January 21. Very strange food with virtually no taste. It was the most un-Indian tasting food I have ever had. We had four different curries and they were all awful. Previously food was ok so not sure if the chef has changed.

Oh dear! Takeaway truly awful. Completely lacked taste. Wish I had checked recent reviews before wasting £50. Naans were nice, but curries were dreadful. I feel bad leaving this review, but Spice 45 need to improve before I go back.

Ordered a takeaway on uber eats. After waiting almost 2 hours for delivery I telephoned the restaurant for an update to be told that they had not printed the order so it was not even being prepared yet! We were loyal customers until now but will not use again

First visit last night and will never go back again.The service was very slow and when the food eventually arrived my Sweet & Sour Balti from the specials list was more like a chicken stew, no spice at all. The restaurant needs to be renamed Spice Zero, rather than Spice 45!Once home I spent the rest of the night on the toilet with diarrhoea. I am a regular to Indian restaurants and takeaways and can honestly say that I have never had diarrhoea before, even after the hottest of Vindaloo’s. I have no idea what they must have put in the ‘stew’ but my stomach is still not right this morning.Do not visit this restaurant.

We booked in here yesterday, arrived for food and everything from a Covid point of view was very well organised, very safe and a great experience. The food was brilliant and the service was great, couldn't fault the staff!We also used our taste card with it being a Friday night which was dealt with straight away. Definitely recommend this place,we we shall we back! Thank you for a great evening!

Poor quality service as they did not deliver one dish and put the wrong meat in another dish and the chicken used in the Madras was tough with a poor quality sauce. I would not recommend this takeaway

We have been here before, with family and friends food has been good, but last night 25/08/20 we had the chicken tikka and the nag which was stated one spice chill. How ever it was hotter then any curry I have ever tasted.I ended up taking the rest home, which I eat later, thinking it was the heat from the the cooking not the hotness of the food, both of us have had to take the day of from our jobs, because of sickness and diarrhoea.Don't want a refund, and will not be going back again.

My husband and i have a meal from here at least once a week and during lockdown we have been collecting our meal.we cannot fault the food we have and i'm sure my hubby as tried most things on the menu.the staff are so nice, really polite and make sure they the get the order right, even rang back one night because the chef thought they had order wrong, because i mainly have one curry dish, but had something different for a change. just about to pick ours up now. cant wait. They are not doing a restaurant service at the moment, they want to keep customers and staff safe.

Disappointing first visit to this takeout, Chicken was so dry it was not edible, Curry had no flavor and the Naan bread filing was barely there.

Been here many times over the years since it opened, good quality Indian cuisine and value for money great friendly honest staff who are passionate about what they do. Currently providing a takeaway only during this Pandemic we are all going through but none the less same high quality.

Decided to try here for a change due to current circumstances and unfortunately I won’t return myself.. small portions, barely any vegetarian options. Ordered a mushroom balti which had all of about 2 mushrooms in and was mainly potato and tomatoes. Never known somewhere to have such poor veggie options! Pretty bland. Good point however - delivery guy was lovely and a credit to them and they arrived 30 mins earlier than expected and food was hot so all was not lost! Dad however also thoroughly enjoyed is biryani albeit smaller portion to elsewhere too.

Ordered our first Indian cuisine from here and won’t be doing it again, 45 minutes late, driver didn’t have any idea about social distancing, wrong food delivered. Called spice 45 to tell them it was wrong and they said we can get another Out in 30 minutes yet this one is 45 minutes late with the wrong order. Lady on the phone said you ordered it for 8 we said yes it’s now 8:45, very rude overall. Awful service

We have a take away from here nearly every month, never had a bad meal yet, we try something different each time, and all the meals are lovely, definitely recommend this restaurant

Great evening out with friends, very attentive service, we had lots of laughs with the waiters and nothing was too much trouble. Food was good, very tasty and fresh.

There was 4 of us visiting for the first time. This was a very good experience. Can't say a bad thing about the food and service. Price is reasonable and would go back again.

Very disappointed in the service here. Been using them for takeaways for around 2 years most weeks. 8 times out of 10 they mess up. No sauce with a biriani, veg samosas instead of meat samosas, missing dishes, etc etc. But with all that said we were always happy with the taste so continued to order. Tonight we called to place our £60 order and they have refused to serve us. The reason being we believe is the last time we ordered and they were missing a dish we insisted they bring what we had paid for. Not unreasonable as in the past when something was missing they said they would credit us next time, they never do so we just wanted what we have paid for. We won’t eat here again. Anyone able to recommend us a decent Indian that delivers to Sharnford that tastes good and preferably gets the orders right?

Ordered take away from spice 45 through just eat arrived in good time but food bland, chicken in curry overcooked so very dry, chicken dopiaza had no heat to it spice wise and tikka massala the same even the onion bhagi soft and soggy. Complained to restaurant and offered discount on next order but will not be ordering again as now have 2 curry, s we just can't eat. £25 out of pocket as had to order food from elsewhere to satisfy our hunger

We went here for the Sunday buffet, plenty of choice and very tasty, Wab our waiter was charming and helpful as always.

It was a Wed evening. 5 adults.Not a busy time. Food was very good. Plenty of chicken in my dish. We had 3 courses. Empty plates. Staff were very friendly.

What a gem of a find. In all honesty we were intending on going somewhere else, so glad we changed our minds. This was fabulous. The staff were attentive, the food hot and fresh. The restaurant was quiet, but it still had a buzz about it, which made it a really enjoyable evening. Will definitely return when we are back visiting family this way.

Got a takeaway last night. It was disgusting. Could not eat any of it. Also paid for Mushroom rice which didn't show up. I want my money back. I have never written a review before but this has driven me too. Avoid at all costs. My belly feels off from the one mouthful.

First visit to Spice 45 on Saturday evening for a party of 4 and it certainly won't be our last. Surprisingly the restaurant was not that busy and we occupied a table away from other diners so it was extremely peaceful. The restaurant is bright and clean and the tables spacious with very comfortable chairs. Service was extremely attentive and menu choice extensive. All of our food was top notch, very well cooked and absolutely delicious. Portion size was just right and we left well fed but not absolutely stuffed. An excellent experience and a restaurant well worth visiting.

Came to Spice 45 for the second time to celebrate some exam results. We called ahead to book as per instructions on the Tastecard App. My husband and I had two courses each. Both courses were tasty and flavoursome. Decor is also nice - the restaurant is well presented, and tables aren't too close together so you don't feel crammed in like sardines, as is often the case in restaurants. The service was friendly and prompt. Overall we had no complaints. Would defintely return again.

We visited Spice 45 with friends who live nearby, The Menu is varied and has several Trout and Sea Bass dishes. Service is friendly and our starters and mains were very tasty. I was pleased to see the waitress remove the starter plates before serving the main course. So many Indian restaurants don't do this, which I find annoying.

1st visit to spice 45, and could not fault the food, ambience and staff who were all exceptionally friendly and very helpful and accommodating with my dietary needs. We will definatly be back.

This is a great place for a curry. There is a great choice of dishes, the kids were well catered for, service was quick, prices are fair and the guys there are super friendly. The dishes that we had were all delicious, cooked to perfection. Really enjoyed our evening. Thanks.
