Space Coffee in Liverpool

Rang and requested a table for 4 adults and 1 child in the main part of the cafe. Advised me would be able to put 2 tables together in main room. Unfortunately put in a side room with not much atmosphere. Food and staff lovely although when I went to pay for the bill £20 had been added to the bill for items we had not ordered so ensure you check your bill before paying

This place is visually attractive with paintings on the walls. Very friendly waitress. My wife ordered Eggs Benedict and I had an omelette with sausage, bacon and Stornoway Black Pudding. The food looked delicious, the eggs cooked to perfection, the black pudding had its own unique flavour (I'm used to Bury Black Pudding) which justified it's inclusion on the menu. The bacon was thick and flavoursome. A great breakfast. Nice music in the background and a lot of friendly voices all around us.

First time visiting this lovely restaurant and we will definitely return! Great vibe, great food and great staff! Our waitress Nalan was really attentive and kind to us so a big thank you goes out to her. Even though we don’t drink, the restaurant offered a complimentary glass of Prosecco in honour of international women’s day which was a lovely touch. Also noticed they have local art hanging on the walls available to sell to customers so definitely had a feel for being a part of the local community. We were a big group of nine including young kids but they catered for all of us. Would definitely recommend for an enjoyable evening out!

I came here with 8 family members 27th Dec 2023 for dinner and had a great time. Again my partner and I came in Feb for dinner and it was superb, great food and service. Our latest visit March 5th booked for my birthday brunch was very disappointing. I ordered the full Monroe breakfast. When it arrived both fried eggs were hard, the hash brown was absent completely, the toast was charred, the bacon was so thin it was almost transparent, the sausage and black pudding were of inferior quality. The only positives were the coffee and tea and the waitress service. We only live down Mersey Road and do not like giving a negative feedback to our favourite local restaurant. Such a shame when we have had nothing but praise when we've been in the evening. A chef who can't cook a fried egg properly isn't up to much. I suggest whoever sources the ingredients looks for better quality bacon, sausage and black pudding.

We popped in for coffee/drinks & cake cakrs were ok; brownie wasn’t brownie & too big & sickly. Overall no atmosphere, mediocre at best and largely overpriced. We also paid twice!!! And had i not realised that would have been the case the excuse for being able to pay twice was the bill had not been cashed in! Really?! This would have resulted in a bill of £55 for 2 coffees 2 cakes a small wine & a lime & lemonade. As a local & first time visitor i wont return and wouldnt recommend.

Great atmosphere here, staff really friendly and helpful. Food has improved so much would recommend the burgers. All meat really good a must to try.

This is a lovely place, with good food. What makes it great though, and is the main thing that makes us come back, is the unbelievable customer service that Tali provides, not just to us, but to every person we see her interact with. Tali learns what you want, makes you feel welcome and, in a world in which it seems good customer service is becoming a rarer commodity, Tali excels at making you feel welcome. Tali is a credit to the business.

Went for a coffee one afternoon. Lovely coffees and the service was excellent. We asked to look at the menu and will be coming back for an evening meal soon. All of the staff were friendly and very pleasant.

I’d been to Space before but had only sampled the coffee and cakes - both of which are fantastic. This time it was lunch and so hard to choose from a superb menu. I opted for the Medici. “Sauteed halloumi, sweet potato, spinach with paprika folded through our soft creamy scrambled egg served on a slice of buttered toast.” It was a scrumptious as it sounds. Mouthwatering. The staff in Space are lovely and very helpful. I can’t recommend this eatery enough. Check it out!

Here for 3 days and went here for Breakfast every morning. Was fantastic- good food, good service (especially from Tally). Would certainly recommend. Dinner here was great too. Good selection and tasty. Hope to be back when we’re in the area.

I met some friends here for drinks on Saturday night. There's a decent drinks menu. Staff were extremely friendly, especially Sel who gave us free shots at the end of the night! At 8.50pm we asked if we'd be able to order some food. The kitchen was about to close but the chef very kindly made us some hummus/bread and sweet potato fries. We've been before for dinner, which was very tasty. We'll definitely be returning again.

Best Sunday lunch ever! Food was spot on - delicious meat, veg, roast and mashed potato’s. We live very local to space and will make this a regular Sunday trip. Both had the beef which was lovely, intend to try the lamb next visit. Highly recommend.

We ate at the restaurant on good Friday. The food was tasty and hot, the service was prompt. The deserts were delicious, my favourite part of the meal. There is a good choice of food on the menu, something for everyone. There was also a singer on which created a nice ambience. The restaurant is spacious inside. (No pun intended). Popped in for a coffee and had a light lunch also. Really nice food from simple to the more exotic and served byt really superb staff. Great smiles (behind the masks !) and made very welcome. The building is really open and airy which at the moment is welcome. A very simple stay for us and enjoyed greatly.

Solía tomar café de aquí todos los fines de semana, pero hace tiempo que no. Fui hace poco y encontré el café muy caro (3. 25) para la taza más pequeña. Pedí salchichas vegetarianas sobre tostadas con huevo. Eran este extraño producto estilo burbuja y chirrido con zanahorias y brócoli en ellos. No eran nada agradables. En esta época en que la gente come más alimentos de origen vegetal, ¿por qué tienen un rango tan pobre para elegir?Aunque el personal era agradable.

El menú tiene una fabulosa variedad de cocinas diferentes, todas con sabores de calidad asombrosos. El ambiente es relajante con mesas lo suficientemente espaciadas como para tener privacidad, pero aún siente el bullicio del restaurante. El servicio es 10/10, todo el personal es amable y extrovertido. Justinos no tiene un parche en el espacio. ¡Sigan con el buen trabajo!

I went to space several times. Food was just amazing. The salmon i ordered was cooked to perfection. The staff are quite polite and welcoming. Food arrived on time. I highly recommend it.

Aparte de un par de botellas de desinfectante de manos en la entrada, no se tomaron precauciones obvias contra las infecciones por Covid-19. Nuestros datos de contacto no fueron tomados: cuando desafié esto, me dijeron 'normalmente lo hacemos, pero estábamos demasiado ocupados'. Pensé que cuanto más ocupado, más riesgo de infección, por lo tanto, más necesidad de registrar detalles. El restaurante, después de las 2 pm, estaba lleno hasta el tope; obviamente, las mesas no estaban más espaciadas de lo habitual. Aunque no se podía esperar que los clientes se cubrieran la cara, había muchas razones para que el personal lo hiciera, pero ninguna parecía serlo.Lo he visitado en varias ocasiones en los últimos años; Recientemente, el lugar parece haberse actualizado de una cafetería a un 'restaurante' sin ninguna actualización correspondiente del menú. En el pasado, el servicio y la comida ('brunch' / almuerzos ligeros) han estado bien, pero el restyling parece haber atraído más clientes. Los camareros, muy jóvenes, eran amables y trataban de ayudar, pero estaban claramente abrumados por el número. Tuvimos que esperar más de media hora por nuestra comida. La calidad estaba bien, pero la elección estaba restringida y la mayoría de los platos eran bocadillos a base de pan.

I ordered online and got a veggie breakie and every mouthful was amazing! my friends got sausage and bacon toasted sandwiches and said they were gorgeous too! delivery was fast and food was on time! highly recommend! will definately be ordering again :)

Friendly and attentive staff and really nice hot chocolates and food. However, some of the portions were really small for the price and it was really loud, not relaxing.

Great setting and atmosphere. Service was very slow, the staff didn’t seem to have responsibility for their own tables therefore orders appeared to be wrong etc, quite disorganized. The food is gorgeous however does not appear great value for money, portions are quite small therefore forcing you to beef up the meal with additional sides of vegetables etc.

After lockdown Space was updated and it is so stunning! Love the staff in their as they are very welcoming and friendly. Free wifi The cupcakes are to die for Would definitely suggest a visit!!

We LOVE Space Coffee. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, coffees, drinks, cakes... these guys do lots of things really well.The customer service is so special and you are always made to feel super welcome. Covid 19 measures safely in place.We have enjoyed their amazing steak heaven dish which is a sensation! And their vegan choc fudge cake is incredible too.Their coffee is really nice and they have a great selection of bevs too! Thank you Space Coffee for being our lovely local coffee treat.

We stopped at Space Coffee on Sunday afternoon for a quick coffee and a sandwich.15 minutes later we left with the 'privilege' of 2 small coffees, 2 small cakes, 3 rubbery prawns in an awful sauce with a cherry tomato thrown in for good measure, 2 mushroom parcels that looked as unappealing as they tasted and 3 feta rolls.I would like to say the feta rolls would have been the saving grace as they were actually quite tasty. 3 bites in however and we found the longest blonde hair wrapped into the cheese and the filo pastry. The hair was so long (see picture). I find it hard to believe they did not see this when making it - given the current pandemic you would have thought these establishments would be taking extra precautions with health, safety and cleanliness... apparently not!As previously stated we were only nipping in for a sandwich. After dealing with a particularly pushy and obnoxious member of staff who told us everything on the menu was 'absolutely amazing' we were £27 out of pocket (with no receipt). We had apparently arrived at a 'unique time' were the lunch and dinner menu over lapped, so we could order off the whole menu. It seemed as though the lunch chef had enough for the day as he advised us not to order the toasted sandwiches as 'they tasted like s**t'. How professional?!To conclude, don't waste your time and money here, there are plenty of nicer, cleaner, friendlier places near by where you can get good value for money and much better cuisine. For £27 we could have easily got a nice meal somewhere as a takeaway - A lesson learnt to never settle for mediocrity in life, although in this case that is being extremely kind.

Steak burgers particularly goodI look forward to going back in person later in the year. In the meantime keep the deliveries going!

I had to submit this review following the extremely positive experience I have had with Space.I ordered coffee and bacon sandwiches last Sunday and due to the huge demand unfortunately our sandwiches never arrived. After I contacted the manager his response was the most positive I have ever experienced with any restaurant/cafe ever.He actually came to my house and apologised in person, although unfortunately I wasn't in.He then phoned me and asked me to go into the restaurant, which I did yesterday. He gave me a full refund for the order on Sunday and also gave me 4 coffees and cakes free of charge.Whilst chatting to him and his staff I discovered that they are delivering a lot of food to local care homes as well as delivering food to the local population.I cannot recommend this restaurant enough as they are still managing to keep their business going providing delicious food to the local community and on top of that can still take the time to deal with a very small customer issue.Thank you so much for your customer service and delicious cakes.

My partner had a sirloin and I had the rib eye, both were excellent. The house Merlot is good. The cheeseboard is nice, first time I've had honey with cheese. The liquor coffees were superb. Choice of sweets wasn't to our liking. Perhaps there is room for a little more imagination. Service was excellent. We will definitely be going again.

Went to evening meal it was the worst food I ever been served we decided to leave during our main meal , we ordered olives to start they had been put from jar to bowl nothing fresh here , main was inedible overcooked steak burnt and gristle asked for medium rare , brother law asked for fish came out raw in middle, totally inadequate chef , paid and walked out I will never ever go back , it’s ok for a coffee but don’t go there for evening meal

Me and my husband visited last sunday.We had 4 starters they were so tasty thank you chef.I had pasta al pollo and husband had a fillet.They were perfect too with good smiley service.We were more than happy to try this restaurant and booked for my birthday before we leave.You should try it!!!

Called in for a coffee around 5ish yesterday, didn't know it was now a restaurant at night - wonderful surprise!!. We ended up having a fantastic meal and drinks. Food was absolutely gorgeous - fresh, well cooked and good quality. Friendly staff - nothing too much, lovely atmosphere and great menu.

Previous visits have been to Space as a coffee shop. Not sure how long it's been operating as a restaurant at night but thought I'd give it a go as it's walking distance. Food and service were both very good. There is a big focus on steak and the rib eyes were very well cooked and good quality. The home made desserts were excellent. The only concern was that it was quite empty whilst the bang average Italian across the road was completely full.

We’ve been to Space Coffee in Aigburth for my girlfriend’s birthday. We tried lovely Tomahawk steak to share. That was absolutely gorgeous and delicious. The atmosphere was great. Staff was excellent and take care of us during our visit. We would definitely visit again. Highly recommended!

Went here after passing it on travels. Great table service and friendly staff. One of the servers I watched go out of her way to encourage another child to sit with her mum and engaged other visitors when they walked through the door. Coffee was served hot, which I wasn't expecting if I'm honest - the last few places I've been to have served the coffee basically lukewarm. My other half was expecting the worst with it being Lavazza coffee (cheap but does the job) but the fact it was hot made it taste better I think he said. I had a chicken wrap, which was lovely but the side salad was plain and fairly boring. My partner and I had a chat about the selection of cakes and their cupcakes on the side looked delightful. Unfortunately, I didn't have dessert, which thinking back I now regret because all of their desserts looked delicious. The inside decor was pretty and consistent but a couple of the paintings looked a bit drab compared to the style and colours of the others. I must mention the menu looked great and I was struggling to decide what to eat. Only one suggestion for this place, which would be to laminate their menu or make it better quality rather than using paper and a clipboard.

They really go the extra mile here...visited with a friend in a wheelchair not realising that there is a step to enter...and the male server came out with a ramp and wheeled my friend up the ramp and into the restaurant...he took her safely out when we were ready to leave. For lunch we had Medici...scrambled egg around halloumi, sweet potato, spinach etc. Friend had tomato and mozzarella with pesto on a bagel and she said it was delicious! Americans coffee was just right ...not too strong or bitter. Service was excellent happy servers with great knowledge of the menu and patience when we took a while choosing.

The atmosphere was perfect. We loved the updated design. It’s exactly what this area needed. I came for the steaks but my wife says she’s coming back for the seabass! The kids spag bol was a great size and I even boxed up his leftovers for lunch tomorrow. I would honestly recomend and will be back!

We had heard that the old Midland Bank/Space cafe had changed hands and was now a restaurant and thought we would give it a try. It is early days for the new venue and there was nothing to complain about; attentive and friendly staff, decent food and reasonable prices. We have scored it as average but are sure that it will improve over time, well worth a visit to make up your own mind.

Awesome food and great coffee. This cafe is a hidden gem. It’s quality in service is secondary to the food and portioning. Really lovely venue, elegant and chilled at the same time. Would recommend for any occasion.

Myself and my partner visited for an evening meal, the food was delicious full of flavour. The waiter was very helpful in giving suggestions, and all were very welcoming. The decor and surroundings were fabulous. We can’t wait for our next visit to try other things on the food and drinks menu :)

Me and my 2 friends have visited Space every week for the last month with our 3 babies. We've always been welcomed with a smile and the staff have been very accommodating to us, making space for us and the prams/baby seats. The food is delicious. We've sampled everything from the breakfasts to cake! And we've loved gorging on the elaborate hot chocolates and milk shakes too. Highly recommended!

I have been coming to Space regularly since it first opened and absolutely love the place. It has the best coffee around and delicious, tasty food. I particularly enjoy the breakfasts and my children love the pancakes with Nutella and strawberries.

Food was gorgeous... warm and cosy space to sit... Brilliant staff. What more do you require from local restaurant... 100% recommend it! Loved it ❤️
